So, for work we need:

We remove the label from the bottle, degrease the bottle and get to work. We put putty thin layer, approximately 2 mm

The master class sounds, of course, loudly, considering that this is my third work in the decoupage technique - but in general - how I did it :)

So the first point

1. take a brick, wash it and dry it for a couple of days.
The most difficult thing was to find a brick, because. In our city, almost nothing is built of brick. I didn’t find an orange brick without holes - I took the paving stones with which our streets are paved. The advantage of paving stones turned out to be that it is not so "high" and more square - i.e. more stable.

2. take putty. In this case, I took "Latex" the cheapest one that was in the store - 65 rubles a liter - and we cover our brick. You don't need to level hard. We do with all sorts of stains there and let it dry.
It dried out pretty fast for me - about an hour and a half.

3. after the brick has dried up, we apply more layers of putty - in some places - simulating the places where the plaster collapsed.
While the putty has not dried up, use a stick (toothpick) to draw brickwork.
and again waiting for drying

4. while everything is drying, it is worth doing the most entertaining thing - modeling. I took plastic and sculpted all the small details.

Flower pot (or rather half of it), birdhouse, bench, mailbox, flowers in a cone pot, roses in a long pot, small bricks protruding from the wall and the roof - everything is molded from plastic.

Roses, as it turned out, were the easiest to sculpt: we sculpt a sausage, then flatten it and roll it into a roll - cut off the excess - the flower is ready. Roses, before "planting" in a pot, it is better to string them on a wire (in principle, any one is suitable - I took it for beading). Don't forget the leaves.

In the birdhouse and in the bench, the sticks are toothpicks.

Rolled out the whole thing had a jar from under baby food for lack of better tools.

The fence is cut with scissors from wooden popsicle sticks, the fence slats are also toothpicks.

Everything was baked in the oven, according to the instructions. 80 degrees - no more than 7-10 minutes!

5. After firing, the parts should cool down - 15-20 minutes.

6. By this stage of work, the brick is already dry.

We take a Decoupage card - I used a rice-based card and "pull out" from there all the details we need.
How to pull out rice paper- everyone knows (we circle with a wet brush and tear it wet).

7. We glue all the details on PVA glue.

First, I smeared the brick in the right place, glued the necessary piece of paper and smeared it again on top of the PVA.
I started with a large one - a window and a door. Then everything else. And again, waiting - until the glue dries - also 20-30 minutes.

8. Then we paint the brick around the napkins.
I took the main background lighter - yellow ocher, then tinted more with a sponge dark shade(added brown)

9. After the paint has dried (acrylic dries quickly), we glue the molded little things that have already dried after painting.

Everyone who did before me used silicone gun. But it seemed to me not reliable, and I glued it on ordinary Chinese superglue (which is transparent) - it got dead and seized almost immediately. Only the protruding bricks had to be held for a minute, and then because it was scary to let go right away :)

10. Stick a tree into the pot. I didn’t have enough to fashion it ... something ... I didn’t orient myself right away ...
so stuck algae from the aquarium (fish donated). I don’t really like it there - next time I’ll think of something else - either sculpt it myself, or paint a dried flower ... Well, if you really find fault, then between the roof and the brick, I would let some ivy in, so that mask the gap due to the unevenness of the brick .... but did not find artificial ivy ...

11. The final touch will serve as the finish - coating the entire house with varnish. - I took the one that was available - acrylic glossy (matte, would probably be better)

12. Well, that's all - take the job! a leather or velvet or felt backing can be glued to the bottom so that the surface does not scratch.

  • glass bottle (preferably some unusual shape);
  • putty;
  • small spatula;

  • acrylic paints;
  • fine-grained sandpaper;
  • toothpicks;
  • small sponge.

Implementation of the process

To prepare the work surface, the label must be removed from the bottle.

First you need to prepare work surface. To do this, remove the label from the bottle. Remove it carefully and without special efforts in several ways, the use of which directly depends on the type of label.

Method No. 1. The glass bottle must be lowered into a bathtub previously filled with boiling water and removed after a few minutes.

This method is suitable for bottles whose labels are glued with a water-soluble adhesive. But these, however, today are very few.

Method number 2. If the label is covered on top with a “non-soakable” layer (such as can be found on coffee cans), then you will first have to scratch this layer and then do the same operation as with the previous type of labels.

To remove the “non-soakable” layer, you should scratch it.

Method number 3. Removing labels with a fat-soluble layer is as follows: first, pour boiling water into the bottle for a few seconds (this will help soften the glue). Then boiling water is poured out and the label is put on, then easily removed.

You can heat the label with a hair dryer, which will give a similar effect.

Method number 4. Sometimes you can find labels that work on the principle of adhesive tape. Removing them is very simple: you need to pry off the label and carefully, slowly, remove it.

Today you can meet special means designed to remove adhesive, such as "UHU", as well as "Defender CLN302122.

After the label is removed, the bottle should be degreased. You can do this in several ways:

All work surfaces must be degreased.

  • Using ordinary dishwashing detergent;
  • Various solvents;
  • With acetone.

It must be remembered that degreasing is mandatory procedure, and if you don’t want all the efforts made to go down the drain, then you should not forget about degreasing all surfaces with which you have to work.

  • Next, dry the glass bottle and proceed to the preparation of the putty. To do this, take a small container (some kind of bowl), pour a small amount of material into it and add water. Mix everything thoroughly.

It is extremely important that the mass is homogeneous, because it depends on how aesthetic it turns out on the bottles.

This operation should be carried out with the utmost care, because the putty layer also depends on how beautiful the imitation of brickwork will turn out.

Decorative works

  • Immediately after applying the putty layer, it is necessary to proceed to drawing bricks with matches or toothpicks. This should be done slowly, drawing each brick, so that the imitation looks as believable as possible.
  • After the imitation of brickwork has been completely drawn, the bottle must be removed for a while so that the putty is completely dry. It is advisable to forget about it for a day. After this time, the surface of the bottle must be carefully rubbed with fine sandpaper.
  • Next, the imitation must be painted. To do this, it is necessary to dilute the acrylic paints. It is imperative to dilute them, because undiluted acrylic dye can easily kill all the detail and clog all the small elements, making the surface very similar to plasticine.

Acrylic paints must be diluted with water, otherwise the surface will look like plasticine.

The water that is added to the acrylic dye must certainly be cool and clean. You can also use the ordinary sewer water, but if we take into account its quality, then it is better, of course, to use filtered. by the most in a simple way to add water to the dye is a regular pipette or a used bottle of eye / nose drops.

Paints can be diluted both on a dry and wet palette, however, there are acrylic paints that can be diluted on the lid of a jar. The speed of drying depends solely on the place where they were divorced.

But it is better, of course, to use a wet palette or lid. There are no strict restrictions in the proportion of dilution of acrylic dye, everyone chooses the consistency on their own. But for this situation, the proportions of acrylic dye: water 1: 1 or 1: 2 are suitable.

So, with the help of a small sponge, it is necessary to apply a brick-colored dye to the absolutely entire surface of the bottle. Flaws should be avoided. After the layer has been successfully applied, the bottle must be left alone until the dye has completely dried.

It is best to leave the bottle, on which the imitation of brickwork was carried out, for a day. Next, fine-grained sandpaper is taken and the painted surface is rubbed again.

After this procedure, the bottle can be decorated at your own discretion with a variety of inscriptions, patterns, etc.

7. We glue the motifs on PVA, wetting a part of the brick in the place necessary for gluing the motif. It is better to start with big motives. Let's dry.

8. Paint the brick around the motifs with several shades of yellow brown.

9. After that, you can glue molded from plastic decorative elements on superglue.

10. The final step will be varnishing our brick in several layers. Allow time for each layer to dry.
