The mechanism is simple: another pipe protrudes from one, and its position can be adjusted, thereby lowering or raising the level of the bar.

In order for the structure to withstand the entire load, one type of 40 by 40 millimeters and a cross section of 2 millimeters will be enough. Its length is 5 meters. The second (retractable pipe) should be 30 by 30 millimeters, 2 millimeters in cross section and 3 meters long.

Also an important part is the neck holder. It will require two 6 mm sheets of steel 50 by 200 millimeters.

To make the bars, you need a small pipe measuring 30 centimeters. Since there will be two handles, it is best to take two pipes of 15 centimeters.

You will need a couple more bolts (acting as the regulator itself). They should not be too thin, otherwise they will simply bite under a lot of weight. The most optimum thickness such bolts - 8 millimeters. Since the whole structure is made of metal, it will seriously scratch the floor and rattle. To bring less damage to the apartment and not interfere with the neighbors, you need to stock up on rubber coasters. These are pieces of rubber 5 millimeters thick. Such a device makes the whole structure more stable, and, therefore, reliable.

Get to the point, or How to make a foundation

Almost all the load goes to the base. It must be very strong and stable. It should also be collapsible so that it takes up less space in the apartment. So, we proceed to the manufacture of the base of the future rack. First of all, you need to cut the metal profile into the required ones. The base is the part into which a smaller (30 by 30) profile will then be inserted, which will hold the bar. It will look like a big "T".

First you need to prepare all the tools. The base will need two bars with a length of 700 and 300 millimeters. To do this, you need a thicker profile (40 by 40). Two bars need to be welded with the same letter "T" so that 15 centimeters remain from the middle of the longer one in both directions. It is this design that will provide maximum stability. A hole for a bolt is drilled in a 30-centimeter bar - it will adjust the width.

It is necessary to mark the middle of the letter "T". It is there that the next bar with a length of 850 millimeters should be welded. Another one will come out of this bar, on which the neck will lie. But under a large load, the bar can bend, so an additional bar with a length of 550 millimeters must be welded from the base to the middle of the rack. It will serve as an additional support. It is welded at an angle so that it connects the vertical and horizontal bar. At the end of the vertical you need to make a hole for the bolt. It should be at least as large as the bolt itself.

How to do the rest

Before welding, you need to bend the sheets of steel so that they look like a hook. "Hooks" are welded to bars (30 by 30) 900 mm long. It turns out 2 long bars with a hook at the end. Behind the hook, a pipe bevel is welded - future bars. The same is done with another profile.

Every 5 cm a hole with a diameter of a bolt is drilled. Thanks to these holes, the barbell rack can adjust its height.

The height can already be adjusted, but how to change the width? To do this, you need a profile (30 by 30) with a length of 1100 millimeters. Holes are also drilled on it with a center-to-center value of 5 centimeters. Its place is in a larger profile (40 by 40), namely in a small bar at the base of the letter "T". Leaving the base, he can adjust the width of the rack or bars.

Of course, barbell back squats are best done in a power rack that can be used for squatting, bench press, and some other exercises. But the power frame is quite difficult to self-manufacturing, and quite expensive in terms of materials. Fortunately, there is an easier solution to this problem.

This is a simple, cheap and durable wooden squat structure that is easy to make yourself. A set of tools and materials is selected individually, so your list may differ from ours. The first thing to do is to fasten two racks of three boards each with screws. The height of the racks is selected depending on your height. The lowest, inner boards, should be slightly below the level of the bar resting on your shoulders, so that you can freely place the barbell on the racks. The height of the remaining two outer boards should be slightly higher than the first. They will serve as a support for the barbell lying on the racks.

Lay the boards on top of each other, tighten the screws on one side, then flip over and do the same on the other side. Now let's do some more delicate work. Prepare two buckets. Put the prepared rack in the bucket, and fill it with cement. No need to fill to the top, half is enough. Make sure the stand is vertical on all sides. Repeat this procedure with the other rack. Each bucket holds about half a bag of cement. Or 35 kg of solution. Once the cement has dried, you will have two very strong, and most importantly, very cheap squat racks.

Precautionary measures. As you can see, in this wooden structure safety supports are not provided. Therefore, if you are working to failure, it is advisable to perform exercises with a belay assistant who will help you up if you yourself are not able to do it yourself. Never squat with a weight you are not sure about. When you finish the exercise, do not drop the barbell onto the racks, otherwise they will turn over. Be careful and use common sense.

It should be understood that all sorts of subtleties in the manufacture of simulators with their own hands are not so important. Making a bench press with your own hands is best from profile pipe. This is a type of rolled metal, which is sold in construction stores and in the markets. It is square and rectangular. It is best, of course, to take a square one, as it is more practical. We need only one type of such a metal profile, from which the entire structure of the bench and rack will be made. The dimensions of this profile should be forty by forty millimeters. The thickness of the walls (cross section) is equal to two millimeters.

You will also need two steel plates rectangular shape. It is desirable that their thickness be at least half a centimeter. Rod holders will be made from them. At each end, they should be bent so that a hook is obtained. You also need bolts with nuts and rubber pads. It is in this place that a transverse horizontal beam is welded to two pieces of the profile. A straight beam parallel to the floor is added to the horizontal exactly in the middle. This will be the base for the bench. By the end, it remains only to attach the third vertical stand, as well as two holders for the rod (these are the metal plates that had to be bent). How to make a sunbed

You can't do it on an iron bar. Therefore, you need to make a special sunbed. It is made from rectangular plywood, foam rubber and leatherette. First you need to take care of the fastening.

To do this, in three places in a long beam parallel to the floor, it is worth making three holes for bolts every thirty centimeters. The same must be done with plywood. Fix the board with bolts. You need to start with the bottom bars. Mark the middle of the lengths of the bars and the middle of the end side of the board 1220 mm long.

We lay them at a distance of 1100 mm (1 meter 10 cm) from each other, put a 1220 mm board on them and combine the mark lines.

We drill holes for connecting screws (in the future I will not write about drilling, just keep this in mind), we screw in 2 connecting screws 4.2x75.

We measure 60 mm from the end of the board and draw a line. To this line, clearly in the center of the board, we install a corner and fasten it with 4 screws 4.2x75.

We repeat the same on the other side.

We fasten the corners on the transverse beam along the edges with 3.8x32 screws.

Before putting vertical racks on their upper part it is necessary to make triangular cuts under the bar, the width of the cut is 75 mm, the depth is 30 mm.

We put vertical racks and fasten them with 3.8x45 screws to the base, then fasten the transverse beam at a distance of 340 mm from the bottom board with 3.8x45 screws

Hello! In this article, I will describe the process of how my brother and I made our own Hand Barbell Rack.
As always, we do not new material, so the manufacture of the bottom rack was not fast. I wanted to emphasize that the project is not complicated:

The F57 pipe served as the main material;
- also a little F40 pipe;
- a sheet of iron 6 mm thick;
- Rod Ф10mm - 20cm;
- An iron strip is usually used as a ground.

In the photo, as you have already noticed, I prepared our blanks from the pipe.

Pay attention, on a pipe with a diameter of F57, I cut out such a halter. Why did I do it? Good question with a simple answer. For larger area pipe contact on T-pieces is simply an irreplaceable cutout.

We assemble our blanks by welding and get this H-shape. And let's call it the lower part of our rack. And so we assembled the lower part, now we need to ennoble the welding spots. We remove all uneven welding and slag, clean it and grind it a little. One note, do not get carried away cleaning the weld, as this will weaken the seam, which is unacceptable for this rack. The rack must be durable and withstand heavy loads.

Well, this noisy grinder is ringing in my ears)), I had to buy headphones that I always ignored and thought it was a cheap show-off *, I admit, I was wrong corrected))

When I bought it, I felt all the charm of working with a grinder.

These are the hooks I ended up with. The most important thing is the thickness of the iron and we have it equal to 6mm. The shape of the hooks can be different, it all depends on your imagination, just do not forget about the strength - this is your safety in the future.

We welded our hooks and in my opinion it turned out not bad, and most importantly, firmly.

We turn to the upper part of our rack, it is adjustable in height, which also increases the number of exercises, that is, such as squats, soldier press, presses in the lower position, at an angle, and so on ...

We used the F-40 pipe so that it fits into the F-57 pipe without much effort.

On the upper part, we fixed such a rocker, in which one part is cut off. When making this rocker, you need to know the diameter of your neck, that is, you need to take into account that the neck is free in the lower position (not pinched).

To fix the position we need, we need to make holes in the bottom of the rack and in the top. We used drills with a diameter of Ф10 mm. The number of holes depends on what level, that is, the height, we need a barbell, in my case I was lucky because I only have two of them)).

Having reamed, we collect them in place and get such a wonderful rack for the barbell.

Then we need to betray more beautiful view remove rust, corrosion, old paint, then we grind a little and prepare for painting. We try to do it according to the technology, first we will degrease our rack, then we will apply the primer and after a while, when the primer dries, it will be necessary to apply paint. I used this primer and paint.
