What materials will be required

  7. Stretch the fishing line, connecting the ends of the resulting "wings".
  8. Making a body. First, cut out a small rectangle (both sides will be 30.5 cm, height - 91.5 cm, plus 2 cm left for the collar). Then place a square in the center (30.5 cm - sides).
  9. Now, from both lower corners of the resulting square, first measure to the left, then to the right equally at 59.75 cm. Put points.
  10. Extend the line segments straight towards them, at both ends from the top, plus the bottom side of the pentagon itself. A complete canvas will come out with a small window.

Kite has not one but usually 2 or 4 control lines. Despite the fact that they usually fly much lower than their counterparts, they are certainly very attractive due to their constant change of direction, not to mention current trend to super-bright color schemes.

Aerobatic kites are another type of stunt kites. They are named so because they were originally designed to train professional kiters and in fact they are not a big copy of them. Due to the fact that, when folded, they have a completely small weight and size, and are also not afraid of damage when falling, they are very popular

You will need drawing paper, dry wooden slats, twine, tape, PVA glue.


First option a simple serpent is the so-called serpent-monk. This is a classic paper design that is very easy and fast to make. Take a sheet of paper and fold it as shown in the attached diagram. Glue the attachment points of the twine with adhesive tape on both sides. Make holes and fasten the twine to get the model shown in the diagram. A sheet of paper can be absolutely any size, but it must be dense. It is advisable not to choose sheets larger than A3. Big sizes require more paper density, and this increases the weight of the kite. As a result, a large kite may be so heavy that it simply will not take off. At the last stage, attach the tail - balancer. The tail should have a length equal to three diagonals of the folded sheet. Making a tail is also very easy. It is necessary to make bows, which can be used as candy wrappers, rewound in the middle with twine. The tail is attached in the same way as a guide rope, i.e. through a hole sealed with tape. The finished kite can be decorated to taste. The snake-monk is ready. In spite of simple design, it flies great and kids will love it.


Second option a simple kite is a frame kite. Make a frame from dry pine slats. Reiki are selected uniform, i.e. thin regular cylinders. The frame can be made in any way shown in the picture below. Reiki are interconnected by winding with twine, which is soaked in PVA. The frame should turn out to be motionless (the movement of the rails relative to each other is unacceptable) and durable. For the wing, use paper or polyethylene film. It is attached to the frame with thread or twine. Moreover, if, due to the large length of the rail, loose sections appear, the length of which exceeds 15 cm, you need to add another attachment point. Keep in mind that the wing must be tight. The finished kite can also be decorated to taste and desire. Don't forget the balancer tail. Its length is three lengths of the longest diagonal of the kite. This design differs from the monk-serpent in that it is equipped with a frame of slats. Therefore, for the manufacture of the main material of the wing, it is better to choose a light, but dense material. Such a material could not be used for a monk, since there the folds of paper are a frame.


Kites will appeal to both children and adults. Flying a kite is a great option for relaxing with a child, which allows you to make a model and then evaluate it in action.
