Fortress alarm programming mode

To introduce additional functions, the PROGRAMMING mode of the system is used, which is divided into blocks - operational and several service ones.

The operating unit allows you to independently connect or disconnect additional functions when operating the system. To enter the operational programming unit, it is necessary to turn on the ignition in the DISARMED mode, press and hold the key fob ON button. In this case, the system will give a short sound signal and light signal. The system enters the PROGRAMMING mode after 3 seconds, which is confirmed by a long beep and a light signal, after which you can release the ON button on the key fob. The ignition can also be turned off. Further, by pressing the OFF button of the key fob, you sequentially go through the functions until you select the one you need. Each press of the OFF button is accompanied by a beep. The number of flashes of the system status indicator indicates which function is currently selected.

Correspondence of the functions of the operating unit and the status indicator is given below:

Turning on and off the function you have chosen is done by pressing the ON button, and the activation of the function is confirmed by three, and the deactivation - by two short beeps.

The system status indicator blinks slowly when the feature is enabled, and quickly when the feature is disabled.

To exit the programming mode, sequentially cycle through the functions with the OFF button of the remote control, or press and hold the OFF button until the system status indicator lights up continuously, then press the ON button of the remote control. The system will emit one short beep and one flash, and exit the PROGRAMMING mode, remembering all changes.

If at any stage of programming for 30 seconds you did not press the remote control buttons, the system will give one sound signal and one light signal, and itself will exit the PROGRAMMING mode without remembering the changes.

After exiting the PROGRAM mode, the system will return to the DISARMED mode.

Auto arming

If you got out of the car and forgot to arm the system, then after 2 minutes the system will arm itself if during this time there are no signals from the door, hood and trunk sensors.

Programmable immobilizer

After disarming, the system status indicator will flash with a period of 0.5 seconds. To allow the engine to start, press the OFF button on the remote control with the IGNITION OFF. The ignition will unlock and the status indicator will turn off. If you open and close the door and do not turn on the ignition, the system will again prevent the engine from starting after 30 seconds, and the system status indicator will flash. If you have not closed the door, the system status indicator will light up.

Locking the doors when the ignition is turned on and unlocking the doors when the ignition is turned off

These functions are used to lock the doors when the ignition is switched on, and unlock them when the ignition is switched off.

If the door is open when the ignition is turned on (or the interior lights are on), then the door locking function will not work.

To prevent failure of the central locking devices of vehicles, the minimum time between locking and unlocking the doors is 6 seconds.

Anti-theft alarm function Fortress

30 seconds after opening the door, hood or trunk in ARMED mode WITH ENGINE RUNNING, the system will block the ignition and go into alarm.

Disabling the built-in shock sensor

If you want to use only the additional sensor, then connect this function.

Alarm duration 15 seconds

If you want to reduce the duration of the siren (normal sound signal) in the ALARM mode to 15 seconds, enable this function.

Entering the Fortress emergency shutdown code

This function allows you to use the emergency control button (in the absence of a key fob) to disarm the system. After entering the operational programming unit, turn off the ignition.

By pressing the OFF button of the key fob, you sequentially go through the functions until you have selected the function of the coded emergency shutdown. Nine flashes of the system status indicator confirm the correct selection. Further, by pressing the ON button of the key fob, you turn on this function, which is confirmed by three short beeps, the status indicator goes out and the system goes into waiting mode for entering a two-digit emergency shutdown code:

  • to enter the first digit of the code, turn on the ignition, the system status indicator will light up, press the emergency control button, for example, five times. Each press is accompanied by the status indicator going out. Turn off the ignition, the system status indicator will turn off;
  • to enter the second digit of the code, turn on the ignition again, the system status indicator will light up again, press the emergency control button, for example, three times. Each press is accompanied by the extinction of the status indicator. Switch off the ignition. The system will give one short sound and light signal, and exit the PROGRAMMING mode, remembering all the changes and the emergency shutdown code - 53 (in this case).

The use of the emergency stop code "00" is not recommended. If within 30 seconds you did not press the emergency control button, the system will give one short sound and light signal, and will exit the PROGRAMMING mode without saving the changes.

Central locking alarm Fortress

This function is used to unlock and lock all motorized vehicle doors using the driver's door button (or auxiliary switch on the instrument panel). When the driver's door button is raised, all doors are unlocked, and when the button is lowered, they are locked.

If you want to use this function, you need to make the necessary electrical connections during installation of the Fortress alarm.

Using additional channels

Additional channels are used for remote control various devices using a key fob: opening the trunk (on cars with a sedan body), turning on the headlights, unlocking the gas tank flap, unlocking the electric hood lock, and so on. If you want to use this feature, you must make the necessary electrical connections when installing the Fortress alarm.

In the DISARMED mode, an additional channel works - when the ignition is off, and additional channel 2 - when the ignition is on.

To turn on the additional channel, press and hold the keyfob OFF button for more than 1 second. Additional channel will be on while the keyfob OFF button is pressed.

If a programmable immobilizer is used and it is turned on (ignition is blocked), then the first press of the key fob OFF button will disable the immobilizer (unblock the ignition), and only the second press will turn on the output of the additional channel.

Fortress alarm key fob battery replacement

A23 battery life is approximately 1 year, depending on usage. When the battery runs out, you will notice this by reducing the range of the key fob.

The system will inform about the complete discharge of the battery by five short sound and light signals when disarming. Follow the instructions below to replace the battery.

  1. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot on the key fob housing where the slot widens. Gently turn the screwdriver to open the case halves.
  2. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, observing the polarity (+) and (-).
  3. Align and snap the keychain halves together. Check the key fob.

After replacing the battery, use the key fob as usual.

Replace the battery at least once a year to prevent battery leakage.

Status indication of the Fortress alarm system

The system status indicator lights up bright red and is located in the most visible place inside the car (usually under the windshield). The indicator provides visual information about the state of the security system.

A brief explanation is given below:

Using the emergency button

1. Without programming an emergency stop code:

It is necessary to place the emergency control button in a hard-to-reach place for the hijacker.

In the absence of a key fob, you can use the emergency control button to disarm the system and arm the system. To disarm the system, open the door, and the system goes into ALARM mode. Next, you need to turn on the ignition and press the emergency control button. The system can only be disarmed within 30 seconds after opening the door, and if there was no alarm in your absence.

If you did not have time to disarm the system in 30 seconds, or there was an alarm in your absence, then you need to remove power from the system (disconnect the battery) for 10 seconds. After power up, the system will return to the ALARM mode, then try to disarm the system with the emergency control button again.

With the engine off (ignition off), to arm the system, press this button and get out of the car within 12 seconds, the status indicator flashes quickly at this time.

2. If an emergency shutdown code is entered in the on-line programming unit:

It is necessary to place the emergency control button in a place that provides ease of use.

To disarm the system, open the door, and the system goes into ALARM mode. Switch on the ignition and enter the first digit of the code by pressing the emergency control button. Switch off the ignition. Switch on the ignition again and enter the second digit of the code. Switch off the ignition. If the code is entered correctly, the system will enter the DISARMED mode.

Warranty obligations when installing car alarm Fortress

These obligations are valid only on the territory of the Russian Federation.

The car security system FORTRESS, developed by EASYCOM, is provided with a guarantee to the user by the company that installed the alarm on the car.

Perform installation and programming security systems FORTRESS can be provided by firms that have a corresponding certificate from EASYCOM.

The warranty does not cover:

  • on the Limit switches, status indicator, cases and batteries of key fobs.
The warranty is terminated if:
  • damage to devices as a result of an accident, mechanical or electrical impact, alteration, any misuse, damage by fire, flood, lightning, and other natural disasters;
  • the presence of traces of liquid in the devices included in the security system.

All car owners are united by one circumstance, namely, each of them wants to protect his own car as much as possible. vehicle from the illegal actions of intruders. Therefore, they face a reasonable question: what security system to choose? Why not rely on a domestic manufacturer? A noteworthy option can be the Fortress alarm - a reliable high-tech product marked "made in Russia".

Secrets of High Efficiency

Each manufacturer strives to choose the most effective vehicle protection tools. So, KEELOQ (a special technology for protecting against code interception) is successfully used in Pharaoh alarms, Starline is no less successfully used in security systems dialog code with a private encryption key.

As for Fortress, 100% security is the result of the competent interaction of two powerful components of this alarm device, namely:

  1. Dynamic Code Keeloq, Microchip, USA. It is a block cipher, each block of which has its own key. The encoding of each individual block occurs in several rounds (more specifically, in 528). This simultaneous fragmentation and integrity of the cipher, provided by the developers of Fortress, as well as a secure radio control channel, deprives attackers of the chance of success.
  2. Built-in programmable immobilizer. The presence of this element in the Fortress alarm allows you to block the engine without using physical methods impact (ignition off), "immobilization" of the machine occurs after identification electronic key Dallas i-Button, radio tags, shutdown by emergency control button or command sent from the key fob. Nothing indicates immobilizer activity (neither audible nor light signals), the vehicle simply does not start or stops at a certain moment, preventing the hijacker from moving. In the Fortress models of the Type 1 and 2 series, a wired blocking relay is responsible for monitoring the state of the system, in modifications of the Type 3 series, the relay is wireless.

Options for comfort

Protection against theft should be not only impenetrable, but also convenient. It was this idea that prompted the developers to decide to supplement the Fortress alarm with an impressive set of functions designed for its comfortable operation, including:

  • remote or automatic start engine(by one of the selected parameters: timer, temperature, alarm clock);
  • hands-free mode(shutdown security complex when approaching the car at a certain distance, provided by reading the radio tag code);
  • road lighting option(when arming or disarming);
  • power window control modes, opening / closing doors, hood, trunk;
  • remote control (key fob), which displays all information related to the state of the system at a given particular point in time (battery charging, active modes, clock, timer, malfunction, and others);
  • other functions that can greatly facilitate the management of the Fortress alarm.

What will be the set of options depends on the model of the security system. Each motorist has the right to decide for himself what exactly he wants to see in the list of functions proposed by the manufacturer.

Additional nice bonus from the manufacturer

Fortress security systems have another attractive feature, and more specifically, the ability to mount and configure them on their own without the involvement of third parties (in particular, specialists who will have to pay for their help).

At the same time, neither the modification of the security product itself, nor the model, nor the year of manufacture, nor the make of the car on which it is planned to install this alarm, does not matter. The algorithm of actions is the same and it is described in detail in the installation instructions and the configuration guide, in without fail included in the package of this anti-theft complex.

This is nothing more than a gift (bonus) from the manufacturer (Easycom, which supplies devices under the Fortress trademark to the market) to its buyer, enabling the car owner to save a lot.

Installation - no problem

Do-it-yourself installation involves a path that can and should be taken in two stages, namely:

  1. Installation of system elements. The initial task is to correctly locate them, and only then to connect them correctly. To help a motorist who decides to do without the help of professionals, the manufacturer's recommended installation locations for Fortress components:
    • main unit (salon: under the dashboard or behind it);
    • trunk and hood limit switches(interior: on any area with a metal surface);
    • alarm status indicator(salon: on dashboard within the driver's line of sight)
    • antenna (interior: in any area not in contact with wiring and metal surfaces, can be fixed in spite of this council, but this will negatively affect the range of the key fob);
    • siren (engine compartment: a prerequisite, it must be located away from heating components with the mouthpiece down).
      More detailed recommendations related to this issue can be found in the instructions.
  2. Wiring (terminals and connectors). The success of this event depends entirely on the fulfillment of two conditions, including:
    • protection of wiring elements(the use of rubber bushings when "pulling" wires from the passenger compartment to the engine compartment, insulating tape to protect the harness from corrosion and damage);
    • accurate reproduction(in accordance with the illustration of the connection diagram of the elements given in the installation manual, with the specification of specific entry points for 1, 2, 3-pin connectors).

Programming and operation made easy

Setting up and managing a Fortress alarm is as easy as installing it. All you need to do is strictly follow the recommendations given in the instruction manual. this product. There you can find the main actions that must be taken to activate the most requested Fortress alarm modes, in particular:

  1. Arming. Press the "ON" button on the key fob (and immediately release it). The system will respond with 2 beeps and 2 lights to indicate a successful transition to protection mode.
  2. Disarming. Press the "OFF" button on the key fob. The alarm will unlock the ignition, the continuously lit indicator will turn off. Successful execution of the command will be confirmed by 1 light and 1 sound signal.
  3. Programming additional service modes. This is a larger event that requires following a certain algorithm of actions, namely:
    • press and hold the "ON" button in active mode - "disarmed", with the ignition on (system response: 1 sound signal, 1 short light signal, after 3 seconds 1 long sound signal, 1 light signal, now the alarm is ready to record new parameters);
    • release the "ON" button, switch off the ignition (system response: none);
    • press the "OFF" button until the option appears on the screen that needs to be activated or deactivated (system response: each transition is accompanied by 1 short beep);
    • press the "ON" button(system response: 3 short beeps confirm activation, two beeps confirm deactivation);
    • press and hold "OF"(system response: continuous glow of the alarm control indicator);
    • press “ON” (system response: 1 short light, 1 short beep signal that the programming mode has been exited and the new settings have been saved).

Malfunctions are possible

Fortress alarms. despite the many advantages, they can be a cause for disappointment. But, only temporary and easily eliminated. We are talking about malfunctions that may occur during their operation. They do exist, unfortunately. The owner of the car may experience the following phenomena:

  • Fortress alarm not responding to key fob(does not respond to commands transmitted from the control panel - key fob)
  • Fortress alarm goes off for no reason(includes false alarm);

Other failures are possible, but they are isolated cases.

The reasons for such failures in work are enough and it is rather problematic to identify them.

The trouble is that only professionals can accurately diagnose the problem (independent attempts to return the Fortress alarm to its original characteristics are rarely successful). However, for the sake of your own peace of mind, it is still worth paying a visit to specialists and paying for their work, since this procedure is only a small contribution to the safety of your movable property.

Available modifications

The manufacturer's line includes three main groups of devices, in particular:

  1. Fortress Type 1. This series is aimed at owners of inexpensive budget cars (economy class). It involves simple filling (in minimum set options included the most necessary: programmable locking / unlocking of doors, silent setting/ disarming, search in the parking lot, emergency shutdown of the alarm system and others) and boasts high efficiency protection. All models of this group of Fortress alarms work on the principle one way communication and differ from each other in the optional package.
  2. Fortress Type 2. car alarm data, it's more high level. They are endowed with great opportunities and can be safely classified as a class of goods in the middle price range. Expanded list of available features including: two-way communication, autorun, transfer current state systems to the Fortress multi-zone pager, turbo timer mode, data storage, fault simulation mode and others, and the same insurmountable protective barrier, allow them to always remain in the lead.
  3. Fortress Type 3. These are VIP alarms. They provide everything that is possible to foresee (Anti-Hi-Jack modes - anti-robbery, AntiCarJack - remote engine blocking, Valet - disabling protection during repairs, control of power windows, trunk and hood locks, and others). These products from Easycom (Fortress alarm manufacturer) are not only 100% reliable, but also elevated level comfort.

Why look for something better when it's already been found. Fortress alarms are comfortable and reliable system protection. Behind her, like behind a "stone wall"!

Arming

In order to arm the Fortress alarm system, you must press and release the ON button on the key fob. The system will give two short beeps and two light (turn signal) signals. The ignition will be blocked. If door lock actuators are installed and connected, the door buttons will lower.

If you hold the ON button for more than 1 second, then the direction indicators will turn on for 20 seconds.

Immediately after arming, the Fortress alarm system status indicator will turn on and stay lit until the sensor diagnostics are completed.

During diagnostics, the Fortress car alarm system will perceive any impact on the car as a malfunction of the sensors and, for the duration of the guard, will turn off the one (those) that registered this impact.

Upon subsequent arming of the Fortress alarm, the sensor(s) will reconnect if it is in good condition and does not register any actions during diagnostics.

If the doors, hood, trunk (or their sensors are faulty) are not closed, or the interior light is not turned off, and the shock sensor or additional sensor is faulty, then after diagnostics the system will give two sound, long and short, signals, and two light signals, and The system status indicator flashes quickly for 30 seconds to indicate that the sensor is disabled. After that, the car is taken under protection.

There is a door, hood, trunk sensor malfunction that the Fortress alarm system is unable to diagnose ("sticking").

Regularly check the sensors of doors, hood, trunk.

Silent arming and disarming of the Fortress alarm

To arm the Fortress alarm system without audible confirmation, press and release the keyfob's OFF button, and within 3 seconds, press and release the keyfob's ON button. The car alarm system will give two light signals. The ignition will be blocked. If door lock actuators are installed and connected, the door buttons will lower. The Fortress alarm system will enter the sensor diagnostics mode.

If the car alarm system was armed without sound confirmation signals, then disarming will occur without a sound signal. Light and sound signals about the registration of the ALARM mode and the low battery of the remote control when disarming, the alarm system gives, regardless of whether the silent arming function is used or not.

Fortress alarm armed mode

In armed mode, the ignition is blocked, the status indicator of the car alarm system rarely blinks.

When the 1st level of the shock sensor or the 1st zone is triggered additional sensor the Fortress alarm system will give several short beeps, the number of which depends on the strength of the impact.

When the ignition is turned on, when the doors, hood, trunk are opened, when the 2nd level of the shock sensor or the 2nd zone of the additional sensor is triggered, the alarm system goes into alarm mode.

Fortress day alarm mode

In order to arm the Fortress car alarm system in day mode, close all doors by pressing and releasing the key fob ON button. The alarm system will give a short sound and light signal. After no more than 3 seconds, press and release the keyfob ON button again.
