Drilling an Abyssinian well with casing. What is an Abyssinian well? Abyssinian well drilling technology. Difficulties in well construction

Abyssinian wells were invented about two centuries ago and are still popular today. The main advantage of such a well is clean water without excess minerals, not polluted. sewage, spores and top water. Let's find out how to organize it on the site with your own hands.

The concept and device of the Abyssinian well

Schematic representation general view and structural details Abyssinian well

The Abyssinian well is a so-called needle well, buried in the ground without a casing pipe. With the professional arrangement of wells, such wells are practically not used because of the difficulty of drilling them to a considerable depth. But in the case when the well reaches only the first aquifer, the needle well is considered the best option due to its low cost, ease of implementation and efficiency.

Abyssinian wells are sometimes also referred to as tube wells or driven wells. All these terms are synonymous and refer to the same type of construction.

The Abyssinian well consists of the following structural elements:

  • tip - a metal point, which is made from hardened steel;
  • filter;
  • receiving valve;
  • line designed to bring water to the surface. The main most often includes several pipes;
  • couplings;
  • rubber seals;
  • manual piston pump;
  • concrete rings.

The principle of operation of the Abyssinian well is quite simple. To obtain water, the earth is pierced with a special pipe to the level of the location of the first aquifer. The diameter of such a pipe is 1 inch, and to facilitate driving it into the ground, the pipe is equipped with a sharp tip. When arranging a needle well, there is no need to use pipes of a larger diameter, an indicator of 1-1.5 inches is enough.

After the pipe is buried in the ground, a self-priming pump is attached to it, which works on the principle of vacuum. If one well does not provide enough water, another one is created next to it.

Pros and cons of a well-needle

The well-needle takes up very little space on the plot

Driven wells have many positive characteristics:

  1. Such designs are easy to install, it will not be difficult to make them yourself.
  2. Abyssinian wells do not take up much space and can be located even in a small area.
  3. You can drive or drill a well without using special equipment.
  4. The well pump can be installed not only outdoors, but also indoors, where it will be better protected from negative weather factors.
  5. Driven wells are made quite quickly, the whole process takes no more than a day.
  6. The long service life of the structure is another of its advantages.
  7. Abyssinian well allows you to receive clean water, not clogged with drains and other contaminants.
  8. The supply of water from the well is carried out continuously.
  9. The undeniable advantage of the well is its cheapness.
  10. Another plus is that, if necessary, the well can be dismantled and moved to another location.

This design is not without drawbacks, among which are the following:

  1. The diameter of the well-needle is very small, which means that it is not possible to equip it with a submersible pump.
  2. If the water lies at a considerable depth, its rise to the surface is difficult due to high blood pressure. In such a case Vacuum pump may not be effective.
  3. When driving in a needle, there is a risk of incorrectly calculating the depth of the aquifer.
  4. Sometimes a solid object comes across in the way of the well that cannot be bypassed or pierced, for example, large stone or a clot of dense clay.

What to consider when building a well

Unfortunately, it is not possible to equip an Abyssinian well in any area.. The reason for this is some restrictions regarding the depth of the aquifer, the type of soil, the amount of water and its quality. Let's deal with this in more detail:

  1. The Abyssinian well is drilled to the first aquifer, but its depth should not exceed 8 m. If the water is deeper, raise it up without powerful pump it will be difficult, and the well-needle can only be equipped with a manual piston pump. To understand how deep it goes aquifer, take a 15-meter rope with a load and check several wells located in the neighborhood.
  2. An equally important factor is the composition of the soil on the site.. Drilling a well in soft and light sandy soil will not be difficult, while in heavy clay soil more effort will be required. If the land on the site is rocky and contains many large boulders, it may be better to refuse to create an Abyssinian well altogether.
  3. When arranging a well-needle, attention should also be paid to whether the water meets sanitary standards . The fact is that the upper aquifer often gets various pollution, whose sources are neighboring cesspools, fields saturated with nitrates and pesticides, plants and factories located nearby, etc. The most vulnerable is the aquifer, located at a depth of up to 15 m. The quality of the water should be checked even before the drilling of the well, and for this, fluid samples can be taken from neighboring wells. Water must be handed over for chemical and bacteriological analysis, and it is better to do this at the end of spring, when the soil is saturated the maximum number fertilizers.
  4. Another parameter that should be taken into account is the well flow rate.. Debit is the maximum volume of water that can be obtained from a well in 1 hour. When arranging the Abyssinian well, this indicator will depend on the saturation of the aquifer. A driven well is capable of producing from 0.5 to 4 m³ of water per hour, and if someone nearby already has an Abyssinian well on their site, it is better to find out how much water you can count on.

Collecting the filter needle

The filter needle for the driven well can be made from a metal or plastic pipe with a diameter of 1 to 1.5 inches. The selected pipe is cut into separate fragments 1-2 m long. In the process of clogging the well, the pipe is gradually built up using threaded connections. To seal the joints, use linen tow, silicone sealant, oil paint or any other suitable material. Often, special couplings are used for sealing.

The joints of the pipes must be securely fixed and isolated, since the performance of the Abyssinian well directly depends on their tightness.

In order for the pipe to penetrate the soil better, its end must be equipped with a filter needle. Such a needle will not only help the pipe to enter the ground more easily, it will also protect the well from silt and ensure the purity of the water supplied. It is desirable to make the needle from the same material from which the pipe itself is made.

Let us consider in more detail the stages of creating a metal filter needle:

  1. Take metal pipe and make holes in it with a diameter of 5 to 8 mm. The holes must be staggered.

    Choose a pipe of a suitable diameter and drill holes in it

  2. Solder a stainless mesh over the holes to serve as a filter.

    Attach mesh over perforation

  3. Attach a sharp tip to the end of the pipe, slightly larger in diameter than the pipe itself. This difference in size is needed so that the pipe freely penetrates the soil after the tip..

    Solder a sharp tip to the end of the pipe

solder everything metal parts preferably only pure tin without admixture of lead. Lead poisons water and makes it hazardous to health.

The filter needle for the Abyssinian well from a plastic pipe is made as follows:

  1. Prepare reinforced polypropylene pipe 1-1.5 inches in diameter.
  2. Insert a mesh inside the pipe, which will play the role of a filter. To keep the mesh securely, fix it by fusing.
  3. Make a perforation on the pipe by cutting slots with a hacksaw.

It is not difficult to create a filter needle with your own hands, especially since everything necessary materials and tools are sold in construction stores. But if you want to simplify your task, buy a ready-made kit for the Abyssinian well.

Well Creation Technology

The Abyssinian well is equipped in two ways: by driving or drilling a well. To implement the first method, the so-called driving woman is used, and in the process of work, water is periodically poured into the pipe. At the moment when the water abruptly goes into the ground, the pipe is dug in another 50 cm, and then the pump is mounted. The driving method is good when you create a well yourself, but this method is not without drawbacks. First, if a boulder gets in the way of the pipe, the needle can completely deteriorate. Secondly, when clogging the well, you can skip the aquifer.

The second method, which involves drilling a well, requires the help of craftsmen and the involvement of special equipment, but when implementing this method, you are guaranteed to find water in the well.

There are several ways to clog a well-needle:

  1. With the help of a sliding headstock and a tailstock - a special part that tightly covers the pipe and does not slip down. In the process of driving the needle, the worker lifts the headstock and forcefully lowers it down to the substock. The part is gradually moved up the pipe and worked in the same way until an aquifer is found.
  2. The second method of creating an Abyssinian well is driving with a headstock with a plug. In such a case, the impact is upper part pipes, the plug is installed at the end in order to protect the thread from damage. This method is good because it allows you to use the maximum impact force.
  3. You can also hammer a well with a rod. In this case, there is no danger of bending the pipe, and the process itself is easier and faster.. The driving rod can be made from a hexagon or a round rod. Separate parts of the rods are twisted together using threaded connection. In order for the rod to be removed from the ground after work is completed, its length must be greater than the depth of the aquifer.

Do-it-yourself clogging of the Abyssinian well: work order

  1. Before starting the process, determine the depth of the aquifer. To do this, go through the neighboring yards and see at what level the water is in the nearby wells. If there are no wells nearby, you can make a so-called exploratory well on a free plot of land.

    Determine the depth of the aquifer before starting the well.

  2. At the chosen place, dig a hole about 1 m deep. If the well is in the basement of the house, then the hole may not be dug. Then with the help garden drill take it out of the well upper layer soil.

    Before drilling a well, dig a hole up to 1 m deep

  3. Drive a pipe into the ground using one of the selected methods or use a drill. Gradually increase the main pipe with additional lengths to achieve the desired plugging depth.

    The easiest way to create a well is to use a hand drill.

  4. As soon as the well reaches the aquifer, let water through it under high pressure to flush the filter off the ground. After that, install a piston pump in the well and remove all muddy water.

    The Abyssinian well must be flushed until the water is clear

  5. To prevent runoff, precipitation and other pollution from entering the well, concrete the space around it cement mortar. If needed, you can also connect an Abyssinian well to your home's water supply.

    Concrete or block the area around the needle hole with stones

To create a well-needle, you can use a hand-made home-made drill, it will be easier and faster to work with it than to clog the well with a rod or headstock. The width of the drill should be the same as the diameter of the future well. In the process of work, the drill is gradually built up with additional rods, connecting them with each other with couplings. A gate is attached to the upper end of the rod and drilling begins.

As you move deeper into the soil, the drill is periodically raised to clear it of the typed rock. If the Abyssinian well has a considerable depth, a winch is used to extract the drill.

Video: creating an Abyssinian well with your own hands:

Creating an Abyssinian well with your own hands is not difficult, and the process itself will not take much time. You can drill or hammer a well in your area in just one day, but after that you will always use clean water.

Having made an Abyssinian well with your own hands, it will become possible to extract water from the sandy layer closest to the surface. Water passing through the porous structure in most cases has enough high quality(this parameter is necessarily checked by the laboratory), so there is no need to drill deeper and, accordingly, pay more.

Before drilling, you can ask neighbors about the quality of water, and after arranging the well, its suitability for drinking and cooking is determined in a laboratory. At the same time, the Abyssinian well (needle well) has structural differences and certain advantages when compared with a classical well, which, in accordance with its depth (to the sandy layer), is called a sand well.

To determine what suits you best, an Abyssinian well or a sand well, pay attention to the following:

  • One of the main differences should be considered well size. The diameter of the Abyssinian well casing is much smaller - most often 1 inch. Due to this, it is also called a well needle.
  • different and pumping principle- the liquid enters the "needle" according to the principle of suction and is often under pressure. At the same time in the well large diameter water flows on the principle of stay.

Main specifications Abyssinian well:

  • well depth usually no more than 8-10 meters, although in certain cases it can reach 12-20 meters. But if the water level in it is lower 8-9 meters, there will be problems with the water supply using a surface pump,
  • performance- 0.5-3 m3 / hour.

The device of the needle well is quite simple. The casing pipe for the convenience of immersion consists of segments connected by couplings. The submersible end is equipped with a cone with a slot for water inflow and a filter in its upper part.

Parameters of well components:

  • pipe diameter for the Abyssinian well - from 2.5 to 7.5 cm,
  • the length of each segment is about 2 m,
  • the length of the conical tip is 20-30 cm,
  • the diameter of the cone is selected 1-1.5 cm larger than the corresponding parameter of the casing.

The pump for the Abyssinian well can be external electric, and in some cases (with occasional use, for example, only for irrigation small garden) practice installing a cheaper hand pump.

Advantages and disadvantages of a needle hole

Abyssinian wells have a number of advantages that have led to their widespread use.

  • With a smaller diameter, the Abyssinian well, made by hand, is not inferior to its larger counterparts.
  • The source is equipped with surface (more convenient for revision and repair than submersible models) pumps.
  • A do-it-yourself Abyssinian well, thanks to its features, can become practical and convenient option where the use of a conventional well is not practical or even impossible.
  • When not big thickness sandy aquifer "catch" it with a thin casing pipe easier (in some cases, a do-it-yourself needle well is the only option).
  • The device of the Abyssinian well does not require much space, so it is often done right in the house, in the basement.
  • The immersion of the casing pipe of the Abyssinian well with a large thickness of the aquifer is arbitrary, while the classical well in without fail perform up to the aquiclude - a clay layer located after the sand. This eliminates the possibility of water intake from the lower part of the sand layer, which often contains a large amount of impurities, including dissolved iron. Thus, mineral composition water in an Abyssinian well, built according to the rules, is usually better than in a large diameter well.
  • The needle well, built and equipped with your own hands, is less silted, including due to the presence of pressure and intense water flow. In addition, it is easier to clean the “needle” casing pipe.

For any owner of a house or cottage, the low cost of the Abyssinian well and the ability to drill and equip the "needle" in one day are important.

How to make an Abyssinian well with your own hands - a video that demonstrates the process of creating a well-needle.

FORUMHOUSE users know that comfortable life outside the city is unthinkable without reliable source water supply. The first thing that comes to mind is to dig a well or drill an artesian well, but both of these methods have their drawbacks. Drilling is expensive and requires the use of special equipment, and not everyone can dig a well on their own. However, there is a third, more affordable option- Abyssinian well, or as it is also called, "needle".

Abyssinian well: what is this device

Abyssinian well- this is a water intake metal or plastic pipe with a diameter of 2.5-4 cm, installed in an aquifer up to 10-15 m deep. At the bottom of the pipe there is a filter and a well tip, the so-called "needle". Installed on top of the pipe hand pump or a pumping station powered by electricity.

Abyssinka attracts suburban residents with the opportunity to solve the problem of water supply to their site, baths, and even country house permanent residence without the arrival of heavy equipment.

The productivity of the Abyssinian, depending on the "power" of the aquifer, can reach 3-5 m3 per hour.

Advantages of the Abyssinian well

Among the advantages of the Abyssinian well are:

How to make a filter for an Abyssinian well

The durability of the “needle” largely depends on chemical features aquifer and its filter efficiency.

Alextr61

I recommend doing a good filter like this: we buy a galvanized thick-walled pipe 1.5 m long. We cut threads on both sides. On the base of the pipe we screw a pointed tip “needle” (it pushes the soil) with a diameter of 20 mm larger than the diameter of the pipe (the junction of the tip with the pipe can be boiled for strength).

From the base of the pipe, you need to retreat by 0.5 m. This distance is left for the sump under the sand. Then, every 50 mm, we drill holes with a diameter of 10 mm in a checkerboard pattern. We wrap the section of the pipe with holes with stainless steel wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm. After that, we additionally wind a stainless steel mesh with small diameter holes in two layers.

We do not boil the mesh from above, but fix it with stainless steel clamps. For better filtration the pipe can be wrapped with geotextile and secured with steel clamps.

If the aquifer contains a large amount of impurities, and the filter of the Abyssinian well is made with technological violations, then it will silt, which will lead to a decrease in water quality and a quick failure.

Disadvantages of the Abyssinian well

With all its advantages, this type of water supply has several disadvantages. The Abyssinian well can not be arranged everywhere - there are areas where it is better not to even mess with the "needle".

  • The Abyssinian well is installed "on the sand". If there are thick layers of clay, limestone and large stones on the site, the construction of such a well is impossible or not economically feasible;
  • To lift water from it, it is necessary to use a pumping station (it is impossible to install a submersible pump in a small diameter well). Distance from top point wells to the water table in the pipe should not exceed 8 m, and the “needle” itself can be clogged up to 10-15 meters. If the distance to the water surface is more than 8 meters, then you will have to install a pumping station lower, dig a pit in the underground or arrange a caisson on the street. If the aquifer is lower (by 20 meters or more), then the pumping station simply will not be able to raise water from such a depth.

Abyssinian well: prerequisites

Before you start working on the “needle” device, you need to understand whether it is suitable for your site. Therefore, first of all, we find out the depth of the aquifer (even in different areas in the vicinity of Moscow, the depth of the aquifer can vary up to 250 meters) and the type of soil.

When choosing a source of water supply, you should focus on existing water wells of a similar design located in close proximity to your site. And in their absence - for exploratory drilling and other reliable geophysical survey methods.

Used to find water different methods: from dowsing to geodetic maps showing soils and aquifers.

Abyssinian wells and site features

Much also depends on individual characteristics site. So that efforts and money are not wasted, and the Abyssian well does not remain a useless monument to your carelessness, until it independent device a number of things need to be clarified:

  • The depth of the aquifer. To do this, you can ask neighbors about the water level in their wells, as well as measure the distance to the water surface. If the depth of the wells does not exceed 12-15 m, and the distance to the water surface is not more than 5-10 meters, then it is likely that the “needle” will be able to provide the house with water;
  • Estimated water quality. Abyssinka is a shallow well and this aquifer can be prone to bacterial and chemical contamination. Therefore, it is necessary to find out in advance where the septic tanks are located, sewage pits whether there are sources of chemical pollution nearby. Sometimes, already at this stage, it is necessary to abandon the construction of the well;
  • Intended location for the "needle" device. It can be arranged right in the house, in technical room, then the pumping station and other equipment will be protected from adverse weather conditions, and the well itself from freezing in winter (in case the house has permanent residence). If the well is supposed to be equipped on the site, then it is better to place it near the house. In this case, to bring water into the house, you will have to dig a trench under the highway with your hands, arranging a caisson or insulated shelter, which leads to additional expenses;
  • Estimated needle debit. It largely depends on the saturation of the aquifer. An indirect indicator can be the water level in neighboring wells. You should also find out if they dry out in the summer.

A good water-bearing layer under the "needle" is located in a vein with coarse (river) sand.

The most perfect design of the Abyssinian well will not save if the aquifer has a weak water yield and low power.

If the water yield of the Abyssinian is small, you will have to buy and install a storage tank for water for 500-1000 liters.

The water output of an already arranged well can be found out as follows - we detect the time of filling the measuring tank and see how much the 10-liter bucket is filled. Without stopping the pumping, we repeat the procedure 2-3 more times in 10-15 minutes, and we get the average value - the specific debit of the well.

How to make an Abyssinian well yourself: manual methods

There are two main ways to construct an Abyssinian well:

  • Clogging a well with a steel "woman".

  • Drilling with a small-sized auger rig.

Auger drilling involves the availability of special and not always available equipment, so let's take a closer look at manual methods well equipment.

Abyssinian well: clogging with a steel “woman”

When clogging the well with a “woman”, a special metal ingot weighing 40-50 kg is put on the pipe, with a hole in the center and two handles on the sides. A “podbabok” is attached to the pipe - a special clamp tightened with bolts. The "podbabok", being an emphasis for the "woman", upon impact transfers all the energy to the pipe and the "needle", which gradually enters the ground. As the pipe moves deeper into the rock, additional elbows are screwed onto the pipe, one after the other, through the couplings until the “needle” reaches a predetermined depth.

Also, a special nozzle can be screwed onto the head of the pipe, on which blows will be applied. This method of arranging an Abyssinian well is demanding on the quality of the thread, because it puts a lot of pressure on her.

Fludik FORUMHOUSE member

I assembled the “Igloo” on steel couplings and on tow (linen) with paste, because cast iron fittings can burst from impact. During driving, he constantly tightened the column with a key clockwise.

To control the immersion depth of the column and facilitate the passage of soil, water is poured into the pipe.

Upon reaching the aquifer, water leaves the pipe with a characteristic noise. After that, you can finish off the column by one more meter (so that the entire filter is in the water reservoir) and try to pump the “needle”.

Yuri from FORUMHOUSE

When filling water into a pipe, it can go either into the space between the pipe and the clay/dry sand, or into the aquifer. Swing the column with a manual piston pump. And only then we connect the electric.

Alextr61 FORUMHOUSE member

After driving the Abyssinian, I first went cloudy water with fine sand and mud.

After pumping about 500 liters, the water went clean. Somewhere after 1000 liters of water began to be used for drinking.

Abyssinian well: ramming

There is another way to drive a well - from inside the pipe, using a metal rod - a thick reinforcing bar.

BCCH member FORUMHOUSE

I think that it is better to hammer a well not with a “woman”, but with rods.

In this case, the armature hits back side"needle" placed in the head of the pipe of the first section in front of the filter. The tip must be well welded to the pipe.

Alextr61 FORUMHOUSE member

I hammered with reinforcement like this: I dug a hole about half a meter deep and installed the first pipe with a tip into it.

Provide without special costs cottage area clean natural water allows the Abyssinian well. Such a well can be easily and quickly made with your own hands.

The technology of drilling such wells was first used by the Americans in the 19th century. And she received worldwide recognition after military operation British in Ethiopia (the old name is Abyssinia). The Abyssinian well has a lot of advantages. Among them, we highlight the key advantages of its use today:

  1. The cheapness of arrangement measures and the possibility of doing the work yourself (no special equipment is required and the invitation of specialists is not required).
  2. High quality of the received water. It has been proven that even near large domestic megacities, the Abyssinian well produces an excellent product. Water from it in most respects is in no way inferior to artesian water. And the absence of a casing pipe ensures that floods and melt water will not fall into the water intake of the Abyssinian well.
  3. The service life depends solely on the water saturation of the formation at suburban area. On average, the needle (as the Abyssinian well is often called) has been operated without repairs for about 30 years.
  4. The possibility of arranging a structure to obtain clean water directly in the cellar of a residential building. So the cost of building a well is reduced, because you do not need to additionally insulate it and make a pit.

Abyssinian well - make a miracle well

And most importantly, the owners of suburban areas do not need to obtain any licenses and permits for construction and operation. You can equip an artesian well with your own hands (provided that its depth is no more than 5 m) from metal or plastic pipes.

The arrangement of the described design is allowed to be carried out only in those areas where the aquifer lies from the surface of the earth at a depth of up to 5 m. If the water hides deeper, you will have to obtain permission from official authorities for the development of subsoil. And this takes a lot of time.

Abyssinian well - make a miracle well on the site

And getting water from a great depth using a conventional surface-type pump will not be easy at all. We'll have to deepen pump equipment or to make a large well, which increases costs.

The wells of interest to us are drilled in soils that consist of sand and gravel or only sand of medium grain size. Through such layers, water can be obtained without difficulty.

In other types of soils, an artesian well is not equipped. If your site is rocky, do not even try to make such a well on it. Without special equipment and the implementation of full-fledged (labor-intensive and complex) drilling operations, you will not succeed.

It is recommended to check with neighbors who already have a summer cottage autonomous system water supply, about the features of the soil in the area, as well as the depth of water. Then you will clearly know whether it makes sense to drill a miracle well with your own hands.

A well-needle is a drill string that is buried in the ground using technology impact drilling without the use of a casing pipe. This technique is almost never used in professional drilling. But to create a summer cottage water intake point with your own hands, it is ideal.

The essence of this work is as follows. You need to break through the ground using pipes with a section of about 1-1.5 inches to the depth of the water layer. To achieve this, attach a thin tip to the end of the tubular. It is precisely because of this a simple fixture and a well-needle is created.

Fine tip attached to the pipe

To equip the Abyssinian well, you will need a set different pipes(it is not necessary to purchase new products, already used ones are quite suitable), a welding unit, a sledgehammer, a garden drill, a stainless galloon mesh, a wire with a cross section of about 0.25 mm, a hammer, clamps, a drill, a grinder, a pump operating on the principle of creating a vacuum , special couplings.

With your own hands, you make a well according to the algorithm below. First, take an ordinary garden drill and use half-inch pipes 1–2 m long to build it up. Let us explain what is meant by this operation. You need to use bolts and couplings made from 3/4 inch pipes to create a special design. And then attach it to the drill.

The structure of the pipes should be as tight as possible. If this recommendation is not followed, the design will not be able to fulfill its task. The required tightness of the pipe joints is achieved by sealing them with paint (oil), silicone formulations, sanitary flax.

Finally homemade design install a special filter in the form of a needle. It makes the produced water clean, protects the well from silting and helps the drill to break through the soil. It is desirable to make the filter from pipe sections that were used to create the structure. Then between its elements there will be no reaction of electrochemical corrosion.

In the next section, we talk in detail about how to make a filter for the Abyssinian well. Study it carefully.

The drilling structure and its tip can be made from different pipes - plastic, steel, polypropylene. Most often, the filter is made by hand from stainless steel. It is done like this:

  1. Drill a series of holes with a section of 6–8 mm in a stainless pipe. They need to be arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
  2. You wind a steel wire on the upper part of the pipe (you should definitely leave small gaps between its individual turns) or solder a stainless steel mesh.
  3. Weld the filter tip onto the end of the tubular. Note! The cross section of the tip must be larger (by a couple of millimeters) than the geometric parameters of the pipe used. Then the structure following the needle will easily move through the thickness of the earth.

filter needle

You can solder the mesh on the filter exclusively with pure tin, which does not have lead inclusions. If solder with additives is used, well water may become unsafe to drink.

If a stainless pipes you don't have, don't rush to run after them to the store. It is allowed, as we said, the use of plastic and propylene products. It is not difficult to make a filter from such pipes:

  1. Place a filter mesh inside the tubular product.
  2. Using the fusing method, you fix the mesh structure to the pipe.
  3. Cut slots on the surface of the tubular product (in fact, perforate it) using a hacksaw.

The filter is ready! You can start drilling the well.

This technique is usually used by home craftsmen who want to get a system with minimal cost. The Abyssinian well using driving technology is done as follows:

  1. Mark the area for the well.
  2. Dig a small pit (about 1 cubic meter in volume).
  3. You begin to drive the pipe into the ground using metal pancakes, a cast-iron woman or other load (its mass should be 28–35 kg). Important! The pipe product should be placed in the center of the excavated pit.
  4. As the structure enters the soil, supplement it with prepared pipe sections (do not forget about ensuring the tightness of the joints).

Clogging pipes for a well

When deepening the pipe for every 0.3–0.5 m, it is necessary to add a little earth to it and immediately ram it. As soon as your structure reaches the aquifer, you need to apply pressurized water to rinse the filter from clay and other soil contaminants.

Then you mount a piston hand pump and start pumping out the cloudy liquid until it is completely clean. The next step is installation. pumping station. It consists of electric cable, submersible pump and starter mechanism. Installation of this equipment does not cause problems. All stages of the operation are described in detail in the instructions for the station.

The work has been completed. You made a miracle well with your own hands! It remains only to concrete the area around it. Thus, you will reliably protect a home-made well from the ingress of pollution and various surface drains into it.

Important advice from users of Abyssinian wells. Be sure to purchase a special bore projectile, which is called a bailer. The cross section of this device is taken 5 mm less than the diameter of the pipes used for the construction of the well.

You will need a bailer to periodically clean the well from silt and clay with your own hands. Such pollution appears in wells after long-term operation of the water intake point. They are also observed in cases where the well long time do not use.

It will be enough for you to tie the bailer to the rope and lower the projectile into the pipe, then pull it out and remove the adhering suspension. Repeat this simple procedure a couple of times and your well will again give clean water!
