With which legs is it better to buy a massage table. massage tables. Oil attachments

Folding couches for massage have become unusually in demand recently. After all, the folding design is convenient for massage therapists due to the ease of carrying the table during field service and simple assembly. In terms of reliability and functionality, many folding models of massage tables are not much different from stationary ones. So, permissible load usually is 200-240 kg. The folding design, in addition to the presence of a grommet (holes for the face) in the bed, fully allows for the placement of an adjustable headrest and armrests installed both in the front and on the sides of the bed, expanding it. For the convenience of specialists in folding models, it is possible to manually adjust the table in height, and for cosmetologists - an additional adjustable section for the back.

Portable couches are also convenient for patients: there are models on the market designed for patients with different physiques. And after the procedures, the table simply folds up in the form of a suitcase and stows away in a closet or under the bed, without taking up much space at home.

However, the most important advantage of portable massage tables is their price, which usually ranges from 7 to 29 thousand rubles. (tables domestic production mostly up to 10-12 thousand rubles). This is significantly lower than the price of even simple two-section models of stationary tables, not to mention models with electric or hydraulic height adjustment.

What parameters are most important when choosing a folding massage table?

First of all, do not forget about the main purpose of the massage couch - to stand securely, and not swaying, on the floor. The patient should completely relax, and the massage therapist should not adjust the movements to the rocking of the table and not worry about whether the table will turn over or fold when the movement is wrong. Neglecting this main criterion for the reliability of the couch, massage sessions will be practically useless due to the tense state of the client and the high fatigue of the specialist. Period useful operation such a table is likely to be minimal. In the worst case scenario, the client can be seriously injured by falling from an overturned or broken table.

Headrest, armrests, adjustable back section, covers - these are far from the most necessary accessories for a massage table. Few professionals actually use them in their work. In this regard, be careful, when choosing, look, first of all, at the reliability of the table design, and not at the presence of "pleasant little things". Moreover, there are many actively promoted, but frankly low-quality tables on the market that do not meet the requirements for strength and reliability, but are often supplied in a “rich package”. Buying a table with weak strength elements and loose fixtures due to few people really need a rising back or headrest, hygienic covers, which, by the way, cost a penny, armrests, sometimes fixed on two pencil-thick wooden sticks (Fig. 1), akin to buying a used car in disrepair, but with powerful speakers, including which you can’t hear the rattling and noise of “dying” units. At the same time, many similar, usually Chinese, models, actively promoted in Russia and sometimes given out by unscrupulous sellers as Japanese or Italian, are much more expensive than well-made and high-quality products of some worthy domestic manufacturers. And sometimes their price is comparable to the cost of Finnish-made models that have proven themselves, such as Lojer or Fysioline, the strength and durability of which are evident (Fig. 2) and time-tested.

The second parameter that you need to pay attention to is the weight of the table. This parameter is especially important if you plan to often transport the couch with you. After all, the meaning of the name "portable" is lost if it is impossible to walk with a table in hand, not to mention climbing stairs. Agree, even a physically strong man will find it difficult to carry or lift a 25-kilogram suitcase with impressive dimensions up the stairs. And then what can we say about the beautiful half of humanity, because masseurs are not only men. Therefore, we advise you not to consider models weighing more than twenty kilograms. Moreover, unreasonably large weight is not at all associated with increased strength, but, on the contrary, speaks of the irresponsible outdated attitude of manufacturers (unfortunately, mostly Russian) and to appearance, and to reliability, since among such models there is a lot of marriage.

But do not go to extremes. It must be understood that durable and reliable table cannot weigh very little. Therefore, do not think that a table weighing less than 12-13 kg will be reliable and durable.

All portable massage tables sold on the domestic market are divided into models with and without height changes. Models with a stationary height are developed for specialists with a height of 175-180 cm and are usually 70 or 75 cm high. If the couch is intended for a specialist whose height differs significantly from the average, then it is better to consider models with adjustable height. In order for the massage therapist to work without increased fatigue, the surface of the massage table bed should be lower than the end of the hand clenched into a fist with the arms lowered along the body, but not lower than the end of the fingers of the open palm.

Changing the height in folding couches is implemented in two ways: by telescopic extension of the inner part from the outer one with fixation with a button on the spring (Fig. 3) or by moving one section of the leg relative to the other, followed by screwing (Fig. 4). Telescopic height adjustment, at first glance, is more convenient: press the lock button and push the inside to the next locking position. However, such a design has a significant drawback: there is always a small gap between the inside and outside of the leg, portable table for massage with such a mechanism is less stable. The instability of couches of this design is especially noticeable when maximum height.

When buying models with legs screwed to each other with special nuts, the main thing to consider is whether the suitcase will close freely at maximum height. Otherwise, the adjustment of the height of the couch will need to be made constantly when unfolding the couch.

Table size is also important. Many experiences suggest that the most suitable width of the massage table is 60-65 centimeters. Despite this, the most popular are portable massage couches 70 cm wide. However, it must be understood that the wider the table, the more difficult it will be to move it when folded, since the width of the table is the height of the suitcase when folded, and even for a person with a height of 180-185 cm, the base of the suitcase can cling to the floor or steps, wearing out the upholstery.

If we analyze the length of the couch, then usually 180-190 cm is quite enough. Keep in mind that it is much more profitable to have a special massage roller and, if necessary, put it under the client’s knees or feet than to take a longer portable couch “just in case”. Otherwise, as mentioned above, the word "portable" will not fit your table, because. its transportation becomes difficult.

As already mentioned in the article, the presence of a headrest, armrests and an adjustable backrest is not at all necessary condition performing effective massage treatments.

So, the rising section for the back is used mainly by cosmetologists. Sometimes it is used by massage therapists during lymphatic drainage, however, in our opinion, a multifunctional massage roller is quite applicable for this.

The head restraint, if it is really needed, should be firmly attached to the frame and be able to adjust the inclination, firmly fixing in each position. It is highly undesirable to have seams in the coverage areas in contact with the face (Fig. 5), so as not to leave marks after the massage and not cause discomfort.

Armrests make it possible to use folding tables with a narrow bed for "oversized" clients, but then they should be solid foundation and fasten tightly to the table frame.

Some give enough great importance the color of the upholstery of the massage table. Because we are still doing a review of portable couches, it is assumed that they are not always in the unfolded position and are not a piece of furniture. In addition, the couch bed for massage during sessions is often covered with a disposable sheet, under which the color of the table does not matter. In this regard, we do not recommend paying much attention to this parameter, but only for reasons of practicality: darker colors are likely to be less easily soiled, especially in conditions of frequent transportation.

When choosing a folding cosmetology couch or massage table without special knowledge, it is difficult at first glance to determine how reliable design table, how long it will last and whether it will fall apart under the first client. However, there are some features that you should pay attention to and which directly or indirectly speak about the quality of the beauty couch or massage table.

Upholstery

The upholstery of the couch should be pleasant to the touch, soft, without a strong odor. The presence of a pungent odor indicates the toxicity of the materials used, and most likely such a table does not correspond hygiene standards. Be sure to ask the seller for a certificate of conformity and a declaration of conformity for the manufactured folding massage tables and beauty couches. Pay attention to the butt seams of the skin, many manufacturers use a single seam, this reduces the cost of production, but negatively affects the strength of such a joint. Perfect optiondouble seam, it is more durable and looks more aesthetically pleasing.

Filler

Most often, foam rubber is used as a filler for mobile cosmetic couches and massage tables. Here, both the height of the filler and its quality, the brand of foam rubber matter. The height of the filler of 1-2 cm practically does not give softness, and the client lying on such a table feels the hardness of the table base with his whole body. Therefore, the thickness of the filler must be at least 3 cm. In addition, foam rubber can be of various qualities with varying degrees elasticity. The best indicator of elasticity has furniture foam brand ST 2540. It is quite soft, but at the same time it has the necessary elasticity and keeps its shape well, and does not lose its properties for a long time.

table frame

As a rule, the frame of a folding massage table and a cosmetology couch is made of plywood. The thickness of the plywood and the wood from which it is made matter. How more thickness plywood, the table is stronger and more stable. Most suitable material for the manufacture of plywood for folding cosmetic couches and massage tables is birch, as it is more durable and resilient than, for example, plywood made of conifers trees. Birch plywood long time does not dry out and does not creak.

Table legs

To facilitate the design of mobile cosmetic couches and massage tables, the construction of aluminum legs and steel cables is most often used. The strength and stability of such a couch is affected by the thickness aluminum profile and leg diameter. An important factor is also the thickness of the cable, it must be at least 3 mm, since it is the cables that keep the table from folding and directly affect the stability and load capacity. The junctions of the cable sheath must be soldered in plastic so that they do not accidentally get hurt on the steel fibers of the cable.

Table weight

The weight of a mobile (folding) massage table and a beauty couch is usually one of the decisive factors when choosing equipment. The lighter, the more comfortable and easier to wear. But this view is only partially correct. A light weight cosmetic couch or massage table may indicate that in the production of such a table thinner, and, accordingly, less durable materials. standard table 180x60 cm in size, weighing 10-12 kg, most likely will not withstand a client or a patient with an above average weight, and there is a chance of getting into an awkward situation when such a table simply folds in half, and you have to apologize to the client and look for new equipment.

Price

At present, taking into account the current prices for all of the above components and production costs, the cost of a high-quality folding (mobile) massage table or cosmetic couch cannot be less than 4 thousand rubles, if the seller is not engaged in charity and does not trade at a loss. Tables with a cost below this mark are either made in Asian countries and do not meet Russian quality standards, or are made from low-quality materials, and such a table is unlikely to last a long time. As the saying goes, the miser pays twice.

There is no need to argue about the benefits of massage, since the range of diseases that can be cured with its help is very wide. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system, heart and blood vessels, gastrointestinal tract, central nervous system- this is far from full list indications for manual practice.

To provide such services, in addition to the qualifications of a specialist and the premises, professional equipment for massage is required.

In this article, we'll show you how to choose a massage table, what are its advantages over a conventional couch, which manufacturers exist on the market and what budget can be met when buying a table.

It is worth thinking about buying if the provision of a service is permanent and your image directly depends on all the details regarding massage, like a good salon, a well-equipped room, the expected result after the procedure.

Oddly enough, the chosen massage table affects the effectiveness of the massage. A folding or portable massage table is not so important.

It is more important how comfortable it is for clients of various physiques, as well as for the specialist himself during the massage. Therefore, you should not neglect the quality of the table.

Unlike professional couches, ordinary couches are not adjustable in height and width, which can create inconvenience during the procedure. And also not all couches have a hole for the face, this can lead to numbness and soreness of the muscles of the neck and back of the patient.

Also, the couch is inconvenient in transportation and, in general, does not always leave a positive impression on the clients of the salon.

Kinds

Massage tables come in two categories: folding (portable) or stationary. Let's figure out what their differences are.

folding fixtures are lightweight portable device with adjustable massage table height. Such a device will be convenient for small salons or massage services at home, as well as in case of transportation.

Stationary the massage table is the most bulky and massive, but also very stable.

He uncomfortable in transportation, so it is chosen by salons and clinics that provide such services all the time and they do not have to move or remove tables from the room from time to time. Also, the stationary design is used for cosmetic procedures.

Specifications

Before you buy a massage table, you need to decide on the technical characteristics of the device that will be most comfortable for the specialist to work with patients, and also not cause any inconvenience to both.

Suitable models are:

  • about two meters long (190-200 cm);
  • width from 65 centimeters;
  • height 70-75 cm (standard), or with adjustable legs;
  • it is important not to forget about strength - the table must withstand a load of up to 300 kg.

Based on these characteristics, you can easily choose suitable model with any budget, and it is even possible to buy a massage table inexpensively.

How to choose

Apart from specifications product, important attention should be paid to its structure and how it affects the quality of services provided.

When choosing, you will have to pay attention to the frame, countertop, headrest and armrests of the table.

frame should have strength and wear resistance, durability, environmental friendliness, pleasant appearance. Models made of steel, wood or aluminum with 4, 6 or 8 legs are suitable. The ability to adjust the height and degree of inclination of the headrest will add functionality to the table and facilitate the work of a professional.

tabletop- the main part of the massage table. It can be single-section (monolithic), two-section (with adjustable headrest) and three-section (headrest, armrest and main body are adjustable in different directions).

The material from which the countertop is made should be durable, wear-resistant, beautiful, comfortable, good cushioning, environmentally friendly and not require special care. So, eco-leather, polyurethane, vinyl leather, artificial leather, artepak and others. Filler: polyurethane, foam rubber, mixed.

Headrest can be removable or monolithic, standard or repeating the human anatomy of the form. It is very important to have a headrest with a slot, as this allows you to fully work out the cervical spine and achieve patient relaxation.

Additionally, the massage table can be equipped with items such as:

  • shelves;
  • side armrests;
  • pillows for the cervical-collar area of the U shape;

The work of a massage therapist is often associated with home visits to the patient. In this regard, the specialist has to carry a massage table with him, which is quite difficult. In order to facilitate this task, you should give preference to a portable table and be very careful about the question of how to choose a folding massage table.

Types of tables for massage

In addition to the fact that massage tables are stationary and portable, they are also classified by the number of sections:

  • single-section are a classic monolithic design;
  • two-section have a device in the form of an adjustable headrest for all kinds of cosmetic and SPA procedures;
  • three-section tables also have a bifurcated tabletop, which gives even more opportunities for holding various kinds massage.

What else you need to know before buying a massage table - evaluation criteria

If you have firmly decided to buy a portable massage table, you need to take into account a lot of parameters when choosing, especially if the purpose of the purchase is to provide professional massage services, when the equipment will be intensively used and folded and unfolded many times.

The weight. If you are thinking about how to choose a massage table, then first of all pay attention to its weight. After all, you will often have to carry it with you, and sometimes to the nth floor. Usually these tables are assembled are a suitcase, the weight of which does not exceed 20-25 kg (these are often steel tables). Try to get a table that will weigh at a minimum - no more than 15 kg. For example, duralumin devices weigh around 10 kg, and carbon fiber devices weigh even less - up to 7 kg.

height and stability. Despite the lightness, the table must be stable and reliable. Self-adjusting legs will be useful, which provide excellent stability even on uneven surfaces. Height adjustment is also required. The range of the adjustable height level should be from 65 to 90 cm. Then you can correctly adjust the position of the table for your height and type of massage. The height lock is also very important point in the process, how to choose a massage table for a professional massage therapist. There are two ways to fix the table at the height of the tabletop: by telescopically extending the inside of the leg and fixing it at the desired level using a button or by means of constituent parts legs twisted together. The second type is much more stable than the first, but less convenient. It is important that the table can be folded at its maximum height, otherwise you will have to change the height back each time you fold it. Legs must have protective coating so as not to scratch the floor.

Tabletop width and length. The normal width of the table is from 60 to 70 cm. It can be slightly larger due to the armrests. However, too wide a tabletop will make it difficult for the master to access the patient's body, forcing him to bend over, and this will lead to more fatigue of the massage therapist's arms and back. The length of the table is normally 180-190 cm.

Accessories. Armrests, headrest, roller - all this is designed for additional patient comfort and ease of massage. However, as a rule, not many specialists use such items as a roller, armrests, or a movable part under the back. But the headrest is used more often. It should be sufficiently elastic, and the seams on it should not touch the patient's face. The angle of the head restraint must be adjustable.

Sheathing and covering. The folding table can be covered with leather or leatherette. Vinyl-leather leatherette is the least durable and soon becomes unusable. Cotton-based leather substitutes and imitation leather are preferred as covering materials. But the best massage tables are made with a covering of genuine leather, the service life of which is no less than the design of the table itself. The filling material must be resilient despite the weight of the patient. Corners should be covered very tightly and preferably with a double layer of covering material. Pay attention also to the quality of the seams - in all problem areas they must be double.

Bag for carrying the table and cover. The bag may not be included, but it is simply necessary. Her choice must be made after trying it on the table. Of course, it is best if the bag comes with a folding massage table. In addition, a cover can go to the table for storing it unfolded.

For effective massage the same knowledge and skillful hands not enough. Much depends on the right massage table. Of course, an ordinary table or a couch can be used for massage, but a specialized massage table is ideal for this. Many years of engineering work and serious clinical trials have made modern massage tables almost perfect:

  • in terms of ergonomics,
  • achieving maximum relaxation in the massaged person,
  • effect during the massage.

There are the following parameters that you need to pay attention to when choosing a massage table.

Table elements

A standard massage table consists of a frame, tabletop, headrest, legs and additional elements.

The frame is made from:

  • Become . Such models are very durable, hardy and have long term operation.
  • tree. These models are eco-friendly, reliable and stylish.
  • aluminum . Often these are portable models of massage tables due to the lightness of the frame. They are reliable, resistant to moisture and mechanical damage.

The standard worktop has rectangular shape with a possible narrowing in the middle. Massage tables can have up to three sections. The number of sections is chosen based on the procedures and types of massage that will be performed on the table.

  1. Single section massage table
  2. A single-section massage table with a monolithic couch can be used for any type of massage. To increase the operational capabilities are used additional accessories. Possesses increased load capacity up to 2 tons. The section is height adjustable.

    The two-section table has large functionality. On it, you can massage in any position - classic on the stomach, reclining, and even add a lymphatic drainage procedure. The first section is fixed. The second section is raised manually, with the help of an air spring or an electric motor. Useful for cosmetologists, osteopaths and spa masters.

    The most functional model of all. All three parts of the table can work independently of each other, rise or fall. On this massage table, you can carry out any procedures related to massage, cosmetology, reflexology, acupuncture and spinal stretching.

Headrests are stationary and removable, which are attached on one side or from any end. They can have a standard or anatomical shape, which has small cutouts that allow you to put your head in such a way that your face does not touch the upholstery. When not needed, the cutouts are closed with special plugs. Cutouts are mainly used for collar massage, allowing the person being massaged to relax completely.

The number of legs is from 4 to 8, where the first 4 are the main ones, and the rest are auxiliary and are used for greater reliability.

To additional elements relate:

  • side armrests,
  • hand shelves,
  • U-shaped pillows to adjust the position of the neck and shoulders,
  • roller under the back, for the neck, for the knees or feet,
  • shelves for towels, sheets, oils and other massage accessories.

Dimensions

For a comfortable massage of people of different builds, it is better to choose a wide table, but narrow enough for free access to any part of the massaged body. In order to choose a suitable massage table in size, you need to come very close to the table and turn around in the lumbar region. In this position, the shoulders of the massage therapist should be aligned parallel to the hips of the massaged, and the hands should be parallel to the spine.

Width

The most requested tables are 70 or 76 cm wide. More narrow models suitable for people of small stature who find it inconvenient to work at a massage table standard size. An interesting option models tapering in the middle in the shape of an hourglass. This design will allow you to approach the massaged person much closer from the side and at the same time will not cause him discomfort due to the rather wide ends of the table.

Length

The standard length of the massage table is 185 cm. Suitable for most people. Therefore, a beauty salon is recommended to take just such a table. Models with a special hole for the face lengthen the size of any table by 20 cm. Therefore, a standard massage table of this type will be 205 cm long.

What else is important to know about choosing the length of the massage table? A table that is too short will create discomfort for the person being massaged, but will save on the width of the table, which will be convenient for an energetic and mobile masseur. too long table will only complicate the massage process.

Adjustable height

Most modern massage tables are height adjustable. For comfortable work, it is better to choose a table with adjustment in the range of 60-80 cm. It is also important to pay attention to the time to adjust the desired height. This process should not exceed 3 minutes. There are 2 types of height adjustment mechanisms:

  • Telescopic leg adjustment system. It can be found in aluminum massage tables. Outwardly, this mechanism is similar to the devices used in medical crutches. Changing the height with this mechanism is very simple, just press a special button and fix the table at the desired height.
  • Screw-down buttons on the legs. With this mechanism, setting the desired height takes a little longer than the previous one, but no more than two minutes. The massage table, depending on the price, can have either one or 2 buttons, which must first be unscrewed to set the desired height, and then screwed to fix the height.

The weight

The weight of the massage table is best chosen based on its future use. It is better for a masseur to go to a massage session with his table to focus on a weight of 10 to 20 kg. It is also desirable that the design of the table be foldable for more convenient transportation. Similar models are more expensive than usual wooden tables because they are made of aluminum. If the table is too heavy for the user, then a special wheelchair can be used for transportation. If the table is not planned to be moved and transported, then the weight of the table does not play a special role.

Payload

The weight that the massage table can support on the surface and on separate parts, you need to select with a margin several times. Maximum weight massaged summed up with the efforts of the massage therapist should not exceed 1/3 of the payload value. Otherwise, a quick breakdown of the table is guaranteed.

Filler thickness

The greater the thickness of the filler, the longer the massage table will last and does not become thinner over time. Also, this indicator affects the level of comfort massaged during the massage. As a filler, use polyurethane, foam rubber or mixed type 5-7 cm thick. Any option should be durable and have good cushioning properties.

massage table upholstery

Today, upholstery does not play a role when choosing a massage table. Many people prefer to use separate, removable covers that can be easily removed and washed. Usually, the upholstery for a massage table is made of artificial leather:

  1. Vinyl upholstery.
  2. A very popular and commonly used synthetic leatherette. According to its qualities, it is strong, durable, resistant to water and oils. Its main disadvantage is frequent use rubs off quickly.

  3. Polyurethane upholstery.
  4. By characteristics and properties more than others synthetic materials looks like real leather. It is soft and pleasant to the touch. The quality is very durable. Of the minuses - low resistance to water and oils, which, if they get on the upholstery, will quickly damage it.

  5. Arpatek.
  6. This is premium material. Used for upholstery expensive models. Very hygienic. Just like genuine leather, it cannot accumulate pathogenic surfaces on its surface, because. the structure of the material is not porous and does not have microcracks.

The main requirements for coating materials are that they must be:

  • durable,
  • resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage,
  • pleasant to the touch,
  • beautiful,
  • not requiring special care.

Drive unit

The presence of a pneumatic spring or hydraulic drive will simplify the setting of the table and help you change the height of the table right during the massage, which will increase the wear of the legs. When choosing a massage table, it is important to consider that the electric motor increases the cost of the table by 50%.

cable system

It is recommended to choose portable massage tables with this system, which is also known as tensor cable system. It is needed to give more stability and reliability to folding massage tables, fixing the legs and preventing the table from moving forward or backward.

Warranty

When buying a massage table, make sure you get the branded guarantee term at least 1 year. Some manufacturers provide warranties up to 36 months.

It is important to know that massage tables, as a rule, are not subject to exchange and return. An exchange of a model or a refund of the money paid is possible only within 14 days from the date of purchase of the goods and only if the examination proves that the manufacturer or seller is to blame for the appearance of defects.

Features of choosing a folding portable table

The portable table is designed for visiting specialists (masseurs, cosmetologists, chiropractors, osteopaths, depilation masters), because. unprofessional surface is contraindicated for massage. Not only will the massage not be carried out effectively, but there may be problems with the spine and lower back of the person being massaged. Portable tables fold into a suitcase, conveniently carried and placed in the trunk of a car.

When choosing a folding table, you need to make sure:

  • that it just unfolds into working position;
  • stable, motionless and reliable in the open position;
  • withstands the necessary load (the weight of the person being massaged and the massage therapist);
  • easily adjustable in height from 65 to 90 cm;
  • width no less than a table 60 cm. and no more 70 cm.
  • height table is 180-190 cm.
  • easily transported.

The weight

The weight folding table should not exceed 15 kg. The weight of a folding massage table depends on the material from which it is made:

  • The carbon fiber table weighs approx. 7 kg.
  • Dural table weighs approx. 10 kg.
  • The steel table weighs approx. 20 kg.

Accessories

Depending on the configuration, the folding table may have additional devices:

  • headrest (should be easily attached to the table and the angle of inclination should be adjusted);
  • armrests;
  • roller;
  • holes for the face;
  • protective caps on the legs (to prevent possible damage to the flooring).

Sections in folding massage tables

At portable massage tables can be no more than two sections: main and lifting. Parts folding the table and accessories are not sections.
