Bladeless fan with your own hands. Powerful do-it-yourself fan Homemade axial fan

Let's make a simple fan.
You will need:
1. 3V motor
2. Section for 2 batteries of 1.5 V. I took it in the CHIP and DIP store.
3. Switch.
4. Wire 15 cm.
5. Bobbins from fishing line or ropes, a jar from Polysorb, a jar of gouache.
6. Impeller from the cooler of the power supply.
7. Soldering iron.
8. Thermal gun.
9. Self-tapping screws 11 pcs. 2 cm long.

1. Take bobbins from threads with a diameter of 5 mm and a height of 4.5 cm - from a fishing line or cord.
We mark a hole for the switch with a marker and cut a hole with nail scissors a little smaller size switch and insert the switch into the reel:

2. Now we form the fan frame: let's make 3 reels together and mark four holes for bolts or self-tapping screws with a marker on the bottom of the upper reels. We burn holes through the edges of two bobbins:

3. With the help of a lighter, we melt and clean the red wire from the section with batteries and fasten it to one terminal of the switch, and to the other - the second red wire. To isolate the terminals from contact with each other, fill them with hot glue:

4. We fasten the red wire to the plus + of the engine, and the black one, respectively, to the minus - of the engine:

5. The top can be made from a box of gouache: on the lid with a soldering iron we form a hole for wires and 3 holes for self-tapping screws. And on the box itself we cut a hole with nail scissors a little less than the diameter of the engine and place it inside. As in the case of a switch, you can pour hot glue on the outside for reliability.

6. We put the impeller from the cooler on the cork, fill the voids with plasticine or fill it with paraffin, make a hole in the cork with a self-tapping screw or an awl, fill it epoxy glue or hot glue, and put on the engine. If this epoxy resin- leave to dry for a day and only then turn it on!

The fan is not a complex device. It consists of a motor, blades, various adjustment buttons and a stand-case. There are additional elements, such as backlight, clock, but these are already options that are not so important.

It is not at all necessary to buy a fan, because it is quite possible to make it yourself. Moreover, this does not require special skills of the master.

With the proper skill, a home-made model will turn out not to be a way to get rid of old things, but an opportunity to show imagination and, possibly, hidden talents. Some craftsmen quite simply get both functional and extremely attractive options. They harmoniously complement the interior and become the center of attention no worse than any art object.

How to make a fan from a conventional electric motor

Probably the easiest and fast way to get a self-assembled home-made fan is to find an ordinary motor, which is most often found in toys.

Standard electric motor from a toy

Ordering such a thing is not difficult. Moreover, today, without stopping for a minute, caravans of various knick-knacks from the Celestial Empire ply. And if not, then just buy an inexpensive one. toy car and remove the motor from it.

But expect the impossible from such a device is definitely not worth it. Rather, it can only slightly drive air. But for a desktop model it will do. He will be able to blow the face of the person sitting at the computer.

For such a fan, you can use absolutely anything. The main parts will be:

  • blades;
  • motor;
  • on/off button;
  • stand;
  • supply system.

Otherwise, the limit of the idea will be only within the boundaries of fantasy.

After the motor is ready for use, it makes sense to take care of the power. These can be batteries, as in the toy for which the motor was intended. But, of course, such energy will not last long. However, there is a plus - the device will remain compact and mobile.

The second option is mains power. But in this case, don't overdo it. Direct connection through the plug is a sure way to burn out the motor. So do not experiment, trying to spin the engine up to high speeds. On toys, electric motors are usually designed for 3-4.5 Volts, and the desire to give more rotation due to powerful energy sources, firstly, will quickly land the source (if it is a battery), and secondly, it will seriously reduce the life of the fan up to breakage. The motor will start to heat up, the brushes may melt.

But modern chargers convert the voltage in the network, reducing it to the specified parameters. You can find a power supply, including on sale, which is ideal for the motor.

To create the blades, you can already take any material. The main thing is that it should be light. Due to the weakness of the motor, the less the blades weigh, the faster the rotations will be, and, therefore, the efficiency of the work.

  • The easiest option is to take a cork from an ordinary plastic bottle, which will serve as a fastener for the blades. Make a hole in the bottle according to the size of the rotating axis of the electric motor.
  • Blades can be made from a regular CD. A hole is burned in the center according to the size of the cork from the bottle. The circumference of the disk is divided into 8 sectors. They are cut for some distance, but not to the center. After that, the disk must be heated with fire in order to easily bend the blades. For this, a lighter is suitable.

Creating Blades on CD

  • You can attach the disc to the cork with glue. The second option - when a hole is burned in the middle for the cork - immediately connect the structure. The melted plastic will harden and hold firmly.
  • After all this, the structure is interconnected. Wire is suitable for the stand. This is perhaps the easiest option. Yes, and for this light device you can't imagine better. You can bend the skeleton in such a way as to discreetly hide the batteries there. Or carefully run the power supply wire going to the motor.
  • The circuit should not always be closed if batteries are used, so a button must be fixed on the case. She is inexpensive. You can use it from the toy from which the motor was removed.

Another version of the propeller device is the use of paper, only thick. The method is even simpler, but less practical.

Advice! When experimenting, remember that the larger the fan blade area, the more noisy it will be. On the other hand, small blades do not move air as efficiently.

How to make a paper fan

Paper is not the best suitable material for a home fan for the simple reason that it is very impractical. Any ingress of water, even banal humidity - and the device will rapidly begin to lose its rigidity.

But despite all the disadvantages, craftsmen even quite nice samples are made from paper. Of course, we are talking about thick paper or cardboard. Good fit strong material from boxes. A regular motor or cooler, an on / off button and wires are also useful.

The simplest table fan using cardboard

An approximate design plan is that the device can be simplified as much as possible. The impeller is easy to cut and can have many or few blades. All at the request of the master. The motor can be mounted on a wooden or cardboard bar. The stand will also go from paper or an old computer disk.

It is only important not to forget that such a fan turns out to be very light, which makes it shaky in operation. Therefore, it is necessary to further strengthen the body. Old batteries, bolts or nuts are good.

How to make a plastic bottle fan

favorite raw material crazy hands» - plastic bottles - almost ideal for creating your own fan. For a propeller, the top of a standard round bottle works well. It is necessary to cut off the part with the cork just above the glued label.

  • The part of the bottle with the cork will be the blades. To do this, the plastic before the cork needs to be cut so that several different petals are obtained. After one, the petals are cut off at the base. The rest are the future propeller blades.

Plastic bottle fan blades

  • To shape the blades and twist them a little, you can use a candle or a lighter. The main thing is not to overdo it, because the plastic is soft and can catch fire. The task is to warm it up a little, and not set it on fire.
  • The cork will be the base of the propeller. A hole is made in it according to the dimensions of the axis of the motor. To keep the connection firmly, you can put it on glue.
  • Now is the time to think about the foundation. The rest of the plastic bottle is also suitable for it. A hole is cut in it to firmly place the cork with the blades at a right angle. It is necessary not to forget to weight the base - with nuts, bolts or any other metal objects.
  • A hole is made on the base for the button and the chain is assembled. There is also enough space for the power supply.

The field for imagination when working with a plastic bottle is extensive. You can use several bottles at once. One will become a propeller (more precisely, part of it), and the second will become a good base. But then additional materials will be needed. For example, regular drinking straws.

Simple and lightweight bottle fan

How to make a usb fan

But the most convenient and simplest fan is exactly the old cooler, which can also be used. For example, put it on the table, and it will cool, only not the processor or video card, but the person.

The advantages of this design are obvious: the cooler is very reliable, because it is his job to constantly turn the impeller and cool something. Yes, and getting coolers is easy. It is enough to either find an old computer, or order a new fan or buy it in a store.

The cooler device is simple. This is a ready-made fan in a plastic case. Two wires (usually red and black) depart from it.

Regular computer cooler

Making a USB fan is a matter of minutes:

  1. The wires on the cooler are stripped by 1-2 centimeters.
  2. A regular USB cable is taken, at the end of which you also need to get rid of the insulation. The standard USB cord has four wires inside. Of these, you should choose black and red. Cut off the rest so as not to interfere, and clean up the necessary ones.
  3. Connect the red wire of the cord to the red one on the cooler. Black - with black. Carefully insulate areas without winding. Ready.
  4. It remains only to think about the holding device. Here the already familiar wire, which takes any shape, can come in handy. For a fan case, it will do even cardboard box, and if you spend a little more time and effort, you can even build a real design object.

Design approach to the design of the fan

It is very convenient when the fan turns on when you start the computer. In addition, modern blocks have several USB outputs at once. It turns out that such a device will not interfere.

Another point - sometimes you want to turn on the fan regardless of the computer's operation (especially since a device with a cooler turns out to be quite powerful, good and useful). Then you can use adapters. For example, phones today make chargers that easily turn into a USB cord when the plug is disconnected. Similar equipment can also be used for a fan, making it universal: powered from the network and from the USB port of any computer. Another plus of this design is the simplest electrical circuit. A cooler-based fan can even do without extra buttons: just a wire and a plug.

DIY bladeless fan

But a slightly uncommon use of a free cooler (but you can get by with an electric motor) is a bladeless fan. Modern, interesting, with due skill - no less effective - a solution that definitely attracts the eye. The thing turns out to be completely non-standard, spectacular.

For example, here's the perfect appearance bladeless or duct fan model:

This is how you can make a bladeless fan with your own hands

The most important thing about bladeless models is, of course, their appearance. Therefore, if you make such a device yourself, then you need to try to think through the frame in great detail. Rough edges, roughness - all this will spoil the impression.

Frame bladeless fan is almost entirely a workspace. Do not think that some space technologies are implemented here.

Air circulation is carried out quite prosaically - with the help of rotating blades. They hide in a tuba base. If you take a cooler from a computer, then you can make a stand according to its shape. Here, as they say, at the discretion of the author.

The differences from the classics are in the location of the cooler - it is placed horizontally in a bladeless fan.

Location of the cooler in a bladeless fan

The upper ring is made hollow inside, two-layer. There, the main redirection of air in the right direction is carried out.

A hollow cavity is visible in the upper ring of the fan, from where air blows

You can make the frame of a bladeless fan out of plastic, wood, thick cardboard. It is better to use a flexible material so that it can be easily shaped into a ring. Alternatively, use a combined structure. For example, rings are made of cardboard or plastic, and the frame is rigid - made of wood.

You need to cut out:

  • four faces for the stand;
  • Two circles of the same radius;
  • Twist two rings of different diameters.

Then everything is connected together, if necessary - painted.

Meals can be organized in different ways. Universal option– Combination cable for USB connector and pluggable plug for socket.

The device can also be slightly complicated. For example, make a light strip along the edge of the rim from diode tape. The backlight consumes little energy, but it will add beauty to the fan. And the power supply and wiring, if necessary, can be easily hidden in the stand.

How to make a powerful fan with your own hands

When it comes to powerful fans, you need to understand that they require completely different motors. Starting from the motors of old fans, ending with others household appliances. Well suited:

The only thing you need to get into the voltage corridor, which is required to power the motor. For example, drills most often need 18 volts. But for ventilation purposes, it will be sufficient to supply less than half of this voltage. Even at 12 volts, the fans are very loud and extremely unstable due to the strong inertia of the rotating blades.

Power for powerful electric motors must be done from the network. Therefore, you need to think about installing a power supply or connecting charger. The wiring diagram can be complicated by adding light bulbs, an electronic clock, a radio, a toggle switch or a board for switching operating modes. But it's easier, of course, to limit yourself to only a fan with a button, if that's enough.

In any case, such homemade variations of homemade fans are sometimes much better than even purchased options. With proper skill, a very good thing can turn out, the real pride of the owner.

From time to time there is a need for a kind of fan, but small models cost relatively much. Do not rush to fork out, because a small fan can be easily made with my own hands. In terms of efficiency, it is not inferior to purchased counterparts, and its creation will require a minimum amount of materials.

Creating a fan from a cooler

The easiest way to make a fan yourself is to use an unnecessary cooler (these are used in a computer as a cooling system for components).

Not surprisingly, this method is the simplest, because the cooler is just a small fan. It remains only to take a few simple steps to give it its final shape and performance.

The cooler itself is quite functional, but you need to prepare it for non-standard way usage:

  1. Wires.

If the fan is located near the computer, an ordinary unnecessary USB cable will do. It needs to be cut and the insulation removed (same with the cooler wires):

We are only interested in two wires: red (plus) and black (minus). If there are other colors in the cooler or USB cable, feel free to cut them off and isolate them, because they are absolutely unnecessary and will only interfere.

  1. Compound.

After cleaning, the wires must be connected to each other (it is enough to twist them tightly with each other). Don't mix up the colors. This threatens with serious complications in the process of creating a fan.

For twisting, 10 mm length is enough. If necessary, it is allowed to clean most of the wire, this is not scary, but much more will have to be insulated.

  1. Security.

Remember that proper insulation is the key to success and a guarantee that the computer or outlet will not short out. Bare wires should be sealed with electrical tape (only in the absence of power), and the thicker it is, the better.

There is no particular point in explaining what threatens the fall of "minus" to "plus". If the red and black wires come into contact during the transmission of electricity, not only the USB wire / port, but also the computer components may burn out.

In principle, computers are not afraid of such moments if they are equipped with protection against voltage surges. But when a wall socket is used, it will be much more difficult to repair the wiring in the apartment. small fan.

Therefore, seriously take care of the insulation of bare parts of the wires. Extra complexity is rarely needed.

  1. Final touches.

Do not forget that computer cooler very light, but at the same time very fast. Even with a voltage of 5 volts, its speed will be quite high. We consider this voltage for a reason: the cooler will perfectly cope with its task, and the operation will be as silent as possible.

Due to the small dimensions of the device, vibration and vibration may cause it to fall. This should not be allowed for the following reasons:

  • such a cooler cannot cause lethal cuts even during operation, but there are no guarantees that the device will not jump up and fly off, for example, in the face;
  • falling on a non-flat surface (on a pencil, pen, lighter), its blades can be damaged: fragments broken off at such a rotation speed can cause irreparable damage;
  • other unforeseen circumstances.

Therefore, it is important to fix the cooler (with adhesive tape, glue) on some more stable surface: a box, wooden block, table.

  1. Additional functions.

If desired, the finished fan can be updated externally, add a switch (so as not to pull out the cord every time), etc. But attention is also paid to a method that relatively well increases the efficiency of the device.

Easy enough to cut upper part plastic bottle and glue it (wide hole) to the cooler frame. Thus, the air flow will be more precise and directed: the force of air movement will be stronger by about 20%, which is a pretty good indicator.

This completes the creation of the fan, and it is ready for full-fledged work.

Disk fan

If the previous option does not suit you, and you want something more complex, then consider creating a fan yourself from computer disks:

  1. Engine.

Since we do not use a cooler, it is necessary to acquire some kind of motor that sets the blades of our future device in motion. In fact, you can use the motor of the already mentioned cooler of the cooling system, but this is too simple.

You should find or buy a motor with a certain part of it moving (for example, a protruding iron rod). Since we are making a fan from disks, then the presence of such a rod will the best option. Motors from an old VCR or player are also great, because they spin discs and cassettes - just what we need for a spinning propeller in our fan.

Do not use an engine washing machine or even a past fan - they are extremely powerful. Due to self-assembly of the structure, it will be very flimsy. A strong motor in the first few seconds will spread the fragments of the blades around the room and fly off the base.

If there is a running motor, it must be fastened with wires in the previously mentioned form.

With a running engine on hand, we need to concentrate on the disks, which are the main components of our fan. First cut one into 8 equal parts:

In order not to make a mistake during the procedure, you can pre-mark the disk with a pencil. It is best to use a soldering iron (there will be no sharp edges, it is safer), but regular scissors will work.

After that, the disk should be slightly heated with a lighter to make the material more pliable, and bend the wings in the manner of the blades, like conventional fans:

The same can be done with the usual plastic bottle:

In the center of our propeller you need to put wooden cork from the bottle. If the size is too big - it can be planed.

  1. The rest of the parts.

As a center holding the entire structure, you can use a regular roll sleeve toilet paper:

It should be fixed in the center of the second disk, which will serve as the foundation for the fan. From above, you can place half of the second sleeve, as seen in the photo, so that the motor is inside it. On it you need to hang the blades from the disk / bottle.

The fan is ready to work. Optionally, you can add decorative elements to make the device look more presentable.

And you can see clearly how such a fan is made from a bottle in this video.

Additionally, it should be recalled that important points when creating a homemade fan:

  1. To fasten the parts to each other, you must use high-quality "superglue".

It is the one that cannot be peeled off even if desired. The entire structure must be as stable as possible and not succumb to vibrations and vibrations. Responsibly and cover everything you see with glue, except for the blades and internal parts of the engine.

  1. Do not hurry.

You risk missing important detail, and this significantly increases the chances that something will go wrong during the operation of the finished fan. The consequences can be very serious.

  1. Don't use bad parts.

If you do not need the motor that is used to create the engine, its performance may be in doubt. Make sure it lasts for a while and will be effective.

Building an engine from scratch is a highly specialized process and requires good knowledge. Make sure the motherboards are in order, everything necessary connections were soldered well, etc. It is better to check once again than to make another fan later.

  1. Insulation.

We remind you once again: do not forget about the high-quality winding of wires with electrical tape. You should not save it, because short circuits and their repair will force you to sacrifice big expenses. Perhaps even in terms of money.

A hand-held fan is quite compact, efficient and does its job well. It is not difficult to make it if you take the procedure responsibly and follow the instructions. There are no restrictions on dimensions: if you feel strong, feel free to start assembling the fan bigger size.

In contact with

All long winter we look forward to pleasant summer days, and with the onset of a hot season, for some reason, we begin to dream of coolness. How wonderfully it will help to restore strength and relieve fatigue of a light breeze created by a small homemade fan. Plus, making it is incredibly fun, right?

We invite you to familiarize yourself with step by step instructions on assembling the simplest effective devices from literally junk raw materials. The article presented to your attention details how to make a fan with your own hands and what a home master will need for this.

At your disposal detailed description production of options, the action of which has been tested in practice. You can make such devices with your own hands, without having any experience at all. For a complete understanding of the information attached step by step photos and video instructions.

The simplest fan can be made from CDs. It can be used, for example, to influence the user locally, who long time spends at the computer.

Let's prepare the source materials for the work:

  • CD discs - 2 pcs.;
  • low power motor;
  • cork from a wine bottle;
  • wire with USB plug;
  • a tube or rectangle made of thick cardboard;
  • soldering iron;
  • candle or lighter, hot glue;
  • pencil, ruler, checkered paper.

For our purposes, you can use a motor from old toy, for example, from a typewriter. As cardboard tube a toilet paper roll sleeve slightly ennobled with decorative finishing paper is suitable.

The main advantage of this model is that almost any do-it-yourself lover can find all the materials that are necessary for its manufacture.

The process of assembling a mini fan is quite simple.

Let's take one of the CD disks and use a marker to divide its surface into eight identical sections. The easiest way to do this is to use a piece of squared paper.

Let's draw a cross on it from a horizontal and vertical line. Each of the four resulting right angles is divided in half. Using cells, this is quite easy to do.

Using a very simple method using a checkered leaflet, we can achieve a perfect layout of the disk into eight equal sectors.

We impose a disk on our drawing so that the intersecting lines are in the very center of its hole. Alternately applying the ruler to the lines diverging from the center, we make markings on the disk. So the sections will be the same.

To divide the disk into blades, you should draw a soldering iron along the marking lines from the transparent part to the edge.

Scissors can also be used for cutting, but there is a danger that the workpiece will crack during operation. If there is no soldering iron, you need to use a knife preheated on the stove. When working with a soldering iron, welded plastic is formed along the edges of the cut, which is easily removed with a knife.

Cutting the disk with a soldering iron is the most effective method, at which the workpiece will not crack or deform, and the remnants of the deposited plastic can be easily removed with a knife

We heat the surface of the disk over the flame of a burning candle so that the blades can be slightly expanded. If there is no candle, a lighter or blow dryer will do.

The central part of the disk should be heated, and all the blades should be turned in the same direction. Placed in the opening of the disk wine cork. To better fix it, you need to pre-treat the edges of the hole with hot glue.

The USB cable must be connected to the motor. If we do not guess with the direction of rotation of the propeller, it will be possible to swap the occasions, that is, change the polarity.

The motor must be glued to the cardboard tube, and the tube itself to the second CD, which will act as the base of the stand.

When the plug is installed in the hole, the support of the second CD and cardboard tube, as well as the connecting device are already assembled, it is very important to properly fit the propeller on the motor shaft

Now the propeller needs to be “landed” on the stem of the future fan. We will try to make sure that it is installed strictly in the center. You can fix it in this position with hot glue.

After completion of all work, the fan is ready for use.

Although the construction of this device will not take you much time, but the result of the work done will undoubtedly please you.

How to do the same, but a little more complex structure, including a regulator in the circuit, look at the video posted at the end of this article.

Do you find this homemade instructions complicated? Then you may be interested in information about and the rules for choosing them in order to purchase a ready-made appliance offered by manufacturers of household appliances.

Plastic bottle fan

What our craftsmen do from plastic bottles! It is time to say that the fan from them also turns out to be very good. It may not ventilate your entire room, but it will definitely help someone who is forced to work at a computer.

We offer two options for creating such a fan model.

Option #1 - hard plastic model

To do the job, we need:

  • plastic bottle with a capacity of 1.5 liters;
  • motor from an old toy;
  • small switch;
  • Duracell battery;
  • marker;
  • scissors;
  • candle;
  • hammer and nail;
  • Styrofoam;
  • hot glue gun.

So let's take an ordinary plastic bottle 1.5 liters with stopper. At the level of the label line, cut off its upper part. It is she who we will need to make the propeller. We divide the surface of the plastic blank into six parts.

We try to mark it so that we get equal sectors: the quality of the future device depends on this.

We cut the workpiece according to the markup almost to the neck. We bend the blades of the future propeller and cut off every second of them. We are left with a blank with three blades equidistant from each other. The edges of each of the blades must be rounded. We do it carefully.

To remove those parts of the blades that are closer to the neck of the workpiece, it is better to use a utility knife; do not forget to round the edges of the blades

Now we will need a small candle. We light it up. We heat each blade on it at the base in order to turn it in the direction we need. All blades must be turned in the same direction. We remove the cover from the workpiece and in its very center we punch a hole with a nail and a hammer.

We put the cork on the rod of a small motor. Such motors can remain from old children's toys. As a rule, getting them is not difficult. We fix the cork with glue.

Now you need to make a base on which the motor will hold. For this purpose, we take, for example, a piece of foam. We fix a rectangle on it, which can also be cut out of the foam packaging.

On the upper surface of this rectangle, our motor will be fixed, to which the propeller is attached. To do this, in the foam, you need to make a recess corresponding to the parameters of the motor.

Hot glue is used to fix the elements of the product. In its absence, other adhesives can be used. It is important that the mount itself is as reliable as possible.

We have made parts designed to enhance the airflow. They will provide accelerated cooling of the space around.

Now you need to make the basis for fixing them:

After preparing the device, designed to enhance the performance of the fan, we proceed to the assembly and commissioning:

Stylish product without blades

We are used to the fact that the main part of the fan is the propeller. This part of the structure rotates, creating the necessary air flow.

But there are also. They have firmly become fashionable, first of all, due to their safety for younger family members and for pets. In addition, these products look stylish: they are able to fit into any interior and decorate it.

The finished bladeless fan is not at all like the device that we are used to seeing, however, it works great.

Like most other things that are in the service of a person, a bladeless fan can also be made by hand.

The principle of its operation is simple: a small turbine is located at the base of the device, which allows you to create air flows passing through the side holes.

For work we need:

  • computer cooler;
  • block and power connector;
  • small switch;
  • hot glue gun;
  • cardboard or thick paper;
  • scissors, pencil, ruler, compass and caliper.

In principle, we need a caliper solely in order not to be mistaken in the size of the product. If it is not available, then it is quite possible to get by with an ordinary ruler, tape measure or centimeter tape.

Let's get to work.

To begin with, we will make the body - the base of the product. To do this, cut out four rectangular pieces of cardboard. To determine the parameters of the base, we measure the width of the cooler. The resulting size will match the width of the rectangles.

For convenience, we will operate with specific dimensions. The width of our cooler is 120 mm. And this means that the width of the rectangle is also 120 mm.

A small switch and a power connector will be built into the body of our product. In order for them to keep tight enough in the future, you need to remove the sizes from them.

The holes in the housing must correspond to the values obtained. You need to make holes before the moment when the rectangles become part of the case: it is always easier to cut them in flat objects.

We need a twelve-volt power supply and a corresponding cooler that consumes only 0.25A. Taking into account the fact that we have a 2A unit, we can assume that we are quite well prepared for the further operation of the future device.

Now we take sheets of cardboard, from which we have to cut out the elements of the main part of the fan. First, draw two circles. The radius of each of them is 15 cm. Cut out both circles.

In one of them, let's call it A, we will draw an inner circle with a radius of 11 cm. In the second, which we will call B, the radius of the inner circle will be 12 cm. Carefully cut out the inner circles. Got rings A and B.

The resulting rings will be attached to the body of the product. In order for them to better adjoin the surface of the body, we will attach one of the rectangular blanks to each of the rings and cut off a segment, the flat side of which corresponds to the width of the rectangle.

In order to be able to reliably glue the rings to the base on which they will be installed, it is necessary to ensure the maximum contact area: for this, the sector is cut off at the bottom of the product

The main part of a bladeless fan has cylindrical shape. To make it, we need strips of cardboard with the following parameters: the first is 12x74cm, the second is 12x82cm, the third is 15x86cm. During the assembly process, it will become clear what to do with each of these three strips.

Before assembling the case, we cut out a notch at the bottom of each of the rectangles. So we not only make legs for the future fan, but also create channels for incoming air.

Notches at the bottom of the base can be made and rectangular shape, but it is better to add an arc to the original rectangle by drawing it with a CD

We will assemble the body using hot glue. The cooler should be located approximately in the central part of the case, surrounded by four rectangles that form the walls of the structure. Lubricate the cooler around the perimeter with glue and surround it with walls.

Do not forget that the notches in the walls that we just cut out should be at the bottom of the case.

The wires from the cooler can be removed to the corner of the structure, fixing them in this position with glue.

At this stage, it is best to mount and connect. Since we are using a switch, we need to separate one of the wires and form a circuit.

The wires should be connected to the power connector (red - plus, black - minus). If we make a mistake in polarity, we just need to swap the wires. Using hot glue, we fix the connector and the switch in the places intended for them.

We connect the power and check if the turbine is working. If everything is in order, we continue to assemble our bladeless model.

We take ring A, which will be located in front of the device, and the first strip (12x74cm). We close the strip into a circle and paste it into the inner circumference of ring A. It turned out to be a kind of cylinder hat without a top, but with fields. The same must be done with ring B and the second strip (12x82cm).

Here is a semblance of a hat turned out from ring A and the first strip, which we pasted along the inner circumference of the ring

We glue the first "cylinder" to the front side of the case in the place where we cut off the segment. The second "cylinder" is also glued to the back side of the case with a cut surface. In this case, the smaller "cylinder" is inside the larger one.

Structural stability can be given with the help of five strength partitions fixed between the rings using the same glue. They need to be cut out of cardboard. The length of the partitions should be slightly less than 12cm.

Now side surface the main structure should be closed with the remaining third strip of cardboard (15x86cm).

In this photo you can clearly see internal construction fan, which will be hidden from us by the last (third) strip

In principle, the fan is ready. It remains to give it an external gloss. To do this, remove excess glue and cover with paint or paste over with decorative paper its outer surfaces.

Do you use a homemade fan made from improvised materials? Or did you use one of the instructions given in our article when assembling the device? Perhaps you have improved the equipment available in the house? Tell us about your experience - leave your comments.

So all you need to prepare is sharp knife, electrical tape, an unnecessary USB cable and, in fact, executive agency homemade. As for the latter, it is customary to use one of two options here: an old cooler from a computer or a motor from a typewriter. Next, we will look at two instructions that clearly explain how to do USB fan at home with your own hands!

Idea #1 - Use a cooler

As a rule, it will take no more than 15 minutes to assemble a USB fan from a cooler. First you need to prepare the cooler. Two wires come out of the device - black and red. Strip the insulation by 10 mm and set the prepared element aside.

Next, you need to prepare the USB cable. Cut off one half of it and peel off the insulation at the cut point. Under it you will see four contacts, of which two are necessary: red and black. You also clean them, while the other two (usually green and white) are best cut off so as not to interfere at hand.

Now, as you understand, it is necessary to connect the prepared contacts in pairs, according to: red with red, black with black. After that, you need to carefully insulate the cable junctions and make a stand. As for the stand, it's up to your imagination. Some successfully use wire, some are very interesting in carving a landing nest in a cardboard box.

In the end, a homemade mini fan is connected to the computer, and you can enjoy the operation of your own electrical appliance.

Cooler idea

Idea number 2 - Use a motor

In order to make a USB fan from a motor and a CD, it will take a little more time, but still, in an hour you can easily make such an electrical appliance with your own hands.

First, we prepare all the elements of the device. In this case, you will need an impeller (blades) too.

To make an impeller, we recommend using an ordinary CD. Draw it into 8 equal parts and carefully cut to the center. Next, heat up the disk (you can use a lighter), and when the plastic becomes more elastic, bend the blades (as shown in the photo).

If the impeller is not bent, no airflow will be created during the rotation of the disc. Here you need to feel the measure, so as not to overdo it too.

When the blades are ready, proceed to the creation of the main mechanism. We recommend inserting inside the disk plastic stopper, in which it is necessary to make a hole for the motor barrel. We carefully fix the core and proceed to create a USB fan support for the laptop.

Here, as in the previous version, it all depends on your imagination. Of all the tools at hand, the wire option is the most suitable. When homemade usb the fan is ready, we connect the wires of the motor to the wires of the cord, carefully isolate the twist and proceed to test work.
