Upon completion of technological and production tasks related to arrangement sewer system in apartment building, production building, as well as in private households, it is required to test the system involved using the forced spill method. This task was applied to identify possible defects or improper installation of the entire sewer part involved and the act of testing systems internal sewerage and drains will be material evidence of work on the acceptance of the facility.

Visual inspection should be accompanied by inclusion in the act of testing internal sewerage systems and drains according to SNIP, which is currently submitted current regulations applications of the "D" series, which corresponds to SP 73.13330.2012 "Internal sanitary systems of the building", a new updated working version of SNiP 3.05.01-85 has recently been applied.

High quality and reliable drainage system Galeco, made of laminated steel, is the key to the success and prosperity of the building, which involves the operation of a drainage system. According to general design, the Galeko drain has one characteristic. A feature is the presence of gutters, the edges of which are optimally concave inward, thus during the passage of heavy rainfall, water will not splash and overflow over the edges. The modern gutter Galeco is an innovative development that can withstand any mechanical damage and resists the negative effects of ultraviolet rays.

Roof snow guards are rugged, multifunctional devices that retain accumulated snow masses to improve roof insulation and prevent sudden, unsafe snowfall from sloping roofs. Everyone knows the destructive power of mountain avalanches. Depending on the weather conditions, there is a constant change physical properties snow masses. Almost weightless snow that has fallen and accumulated on the roof, in the process of cyclic temperature changes, forms a layer of complex structure and impressive mass, reminiscent of a miniature ready to break mountain peaks avalanche. Underestimation of the potential danger threatens with material costs, as well as a threat to the health and life of people in the danger zone.

Borge snow guards are high-tech products of the world famous Swedish company, whose production is deployed in Russia. Being important element safety systems for pitched roofs (SBK), BORGE snow guards make it possible to:

    ensure the safety of people and the safety of house property and parked equipment;

    increase service life roofing, skylights and elements of television, drainage, ventilation and electrical systems fixed on the roof, as well as other communication equipment;

    guarantee a reduction in the total load on the walls and floor elements by periodically and dosed removal of snow from the roof under the action of its own weight;

    minimize the cost of public services and building repairs.

For citizens accustomed to comfort, the lack of a centralized sewage system in a country house or in a country private house causes certain inconveniences. Everything is solved, it is only necessary to equip on adjoining area cesspool, which is simple septic tank. However, it will have to be cleaned regularly, pumping out sewage and settled sludge. This can be done with the help of special fecal pumps. Let's figure out how to choose pumps for cesspools so that they can cope with their tasks without any problems.

The easiest option for cleaning the cesspool is to call a sewage machine with a sludge pump. But it will cost a lot. In most cases, you can do on their own using special equipment or improvised means.

There are several ways to pump sewage from the cesspool

Delete from cesspool drains can be done using:

  1. Buckets on a rope.
  2. Drainage hydraulic pump.
  3. Fecal pump.

The first method is an extreme case, when sewage is already overflowing the drive, and other options are not available. It is unlikely that there will be many who want to manually delve into the slops and feces. Better cleaning perform remotely using pumping equipment: lowered the hose into the cesspool - and no more unnecessary gestures.

However, pumps for pumping cesspools should be chosen wisely. A conventional hydraulic pump can only pump clean water. The cesspool contains heavy fractions, silt, cellophane, food waste and even small solid objects. All this enters the septic tank through the sewer pipe from the house.

Advice! For a cesspool, you should choose a fecal pump with a grinder. It will break up the solids in the effluent into fractions that will not pose a threat to the pumping equipment. Such a device will cope with any wastewater.

Usually the cesspool is cleaned in the fall or when it is two-thirds full. It is better to carry out the procedure twice a year - in the spring after the floods and closer to winter. There is no need to permanently install the pump. It is enough to bring the device from the utility room for the duration of the work, and then clean it and put it away until the next time.

Types of fecal pumps for septic tanks

There are three types of specialized hydraulic pumps for pumping sewage from cesspools. They differ in the way of installation, performance and design. Pumping equipment for sewage can be:

  1. Submersible.
  2. Superficial.
  3. Semi-submersible.

Each type of device has its own advantages, installation features and price. Wide the lineup allows you to choose a pump for a cesspool, which will be optimal in terms of the totality of all parameters.

Surface appliances

They are installed outside the cesspool, only the suction hose is lowered to the bottom of the pit. Household models are lightweight, easy to operate, but they will not cope with heavily silted and viscous liquid. More overall and powerful modifications can be seen on sewage trucks.

The external fecal pump has a fairly large size

The advantages of surface pumping equipment include:

  • cheapness;
  • ease of maintenance;
  • mobility;
  • long service life.

The engine of the surface pump is in the air during operation, due to which it cools and does not overheat. Plus, the body of the unit does not come into contact with drains and does not rust.

Among the disadvantages of household sewer surface-type hydraulic pumps, it should be noted:

  • low power and low suction height;
  • absence reliable protection from moisture (it is recommended to use them only on clear days or equip awnings for them);
  • inability to use negative temperatures ah air.
  • noise at work.

At correct operation the surface model will serve faithfully for more than one season.

Submersible pumping equipment

The body of the submersible fecal pump is made of steel or cast iron resistant to the aggressive environment of the cesspool. The equipment is immersed to the bottom of the sewage tank.

There are many submersible models, you can choose a device of any power

A submersible fecal pump is chosen for a cesspool because of its high performance - up to 400 cubic meters per hour. It is almost always equipped with a chopper and a float. The cutting mechanism grinds all large inclusions to sizes that are safe for the device, and the float turns off the unit as soon as the water level becomes critically low.

Advice! For a cesspool submersible pumpoptimal choice. He is unpretentious, powerful and has small dimensions.

Such pumping equipment can also be used for watering the garden, removing runoff from the drainage well, during flooding to pump water from the basement.

Semi-submersible models

A semi-submersible fecal pump is installed so that the engine remains above the water, and the working chamber is immersed in drains. They are connected to each other by a rotating shaft. The equipment is quite bulky. It must be installed under the roof, since the electric motor is not protected from moisture.

Wiring diagram for submersible and semi-submersible pumps

Typically, such devices are mounted stationary. They are more suitable for large facilities where wastewater is pumped out on an ongoing basis several times a week. For a cesspool of a private house, choosing this option is impractical and expensive.

Important! It is not necessary to pump out the cesspool to dryness, the hydrological balance may change and then the drainage will stop working. You will have to download constantly and a lot.

What to consider when choosing a sump pump

Before choosing a pump for a cesspool, you should decide on its power. For domestic needs, a capacity of 100–150 l / min is sufficient. As a rule, the volume of the cesspool is small, several hundred liters. In 5–10 minutes, even a low-power hydraulic pump will successfully cope with wastewater.

The second important indicator is the pressure generated. The documentation for pumping equipment indicates the footage of the vertical water column. This is maximum height to which the engine is able to lift fluid through the hose. It is necessary to take into account the depth of the pit itself and the horizontal section from it to the container filled with pumped out feces. At the same time, four meters horizontally are equated to one vertically.

Fecal pump must be in a metal case and with a grinder

The third point is the case material. The environment in the cesspool is aggressive, so you should choose a pump with a metal casing made of stainless steel or cast iron. Modern plastic, of course, is durable, but in this case it is better to do without it.

The built-in protection against overheating will not be superfluous. As the effluent is pumped out, the submersible pump will begin to protrude above the water cooling it. It is better to play it safe and take equipment with automatic equipment that will turn off the engine from the mains in case of critical overheating.

Video: real experience of using a fecal pump

The compact size and ease of use of pumping equipment make it possible to pump out sewage from sewage tanks without the use of vacuum trucks. But the choice of a fecal pump for a cesspool should be approached responsibly. You don't always need the most powerful model. When pumping out the cesspool, it is more important to have a good grinder that will successfully cope with large solid inclusions in domestic wastewater.

Convenient and comfortable accommodation in country house to a large extent depends on the availability and arrangement of autonomous sewage. There are many systems that successfully operate in the disposal of wastewater and waste. Many of them provide wastewater treatment through bacterial treatment or a good drainage filter.

However, pumping of cesspools should take place regularly. This event guarantees a normal standard of living in a private home.

Methods for cleaning a cesspool

There are two ways to clean the cesspool from sewage and waste residues:

  • with the help of a special sewage machine;
  • independently pump out and clean the cesspool.

The simplest thing in this situation is to call special equipment and contacting a company that specializes in waste collection services. To do this, you only need a convenient access to the cesspool and money to pay for the work of specialists. The regularity of pumping and, accordingly, the amount of funds will depend on the frequency of filling the pit and its type.

The main requirement for the work of sewers is the complete cleaning of the pit and the removal of all waste from it.

Only in this case, the normal functioning of the autonomous sewage system will be ensured. If the cesspool is only partially cleaned, then the frequency of pumping will increase steadily, and, as a result, the monetary costs will increase.

Existing methods of cleaning the cesspool allow you to remove waste from it and make life comfortable. Therefore, removing the waste yourself is the cheapest option. or necessary in the case when it is not possible to call specialists.

In this case, there are also two options for making this work:

  • cleaning the cesspool with your own hands using the old method, tested by our ancestors, using a bucket and a rope;
  • pumping out sewage with the help of specialized pumps.

A small cesspool is easy to clean with your own hands. However, this procedure will not bring pleasure to the owner of the house and is unlikely to contribute to a normal level of comfort. Besides, unpleasant odors throughout the site are guaranteed.

The most acceptable way out in this situation is to use pumps for pumping out cesspools. You can use conventional water pumps. But they will only drain water, and the heavy fractions of waste and fecal matter will remain in the cesspool. They will have to be cleaned over time with their own hands.

Therefore, it is necessary to use special fecal-type pumps that will remove all waste from the pit completely. It will take a little effort and time. The only problem with this is where to put the contents of the cesspool.

There is only one way out - to use an additional container for storing wastewater and waste, which, after a certain time, is pumped out using a sewage machine. This tank should be, if possible, big size with a tight lid so that there are no unpleasant odors on the site of the house.

For more convenient work on cleaning the pit, it is recommended to pre-treat the accumulated drains and waste with a special biological solution. The good bacteria will overtake the bad ones. organic matter into neutral compounds and purify water.

If the cesspit needs to be cleaned quickly and with good result, then experts recommend the use of modern fecal pumps that have a cutting mechanism for grinding solid waste. In this case, a complete pumping of wastewater from a private house is guaranteed.

Creating comfortable living conditions in a private house is by no means limited to equipping heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of water and electricity, performing high-quality finishes and saturating the premises. comfortable furniture and modern household appliances. You also have to think about the "dirty" side of the issue, invisible in everyday life, but from this it does not lose its extreme importance. We are talking about the problem of collection and disposal of various wastes that inevitably accumulate in the process of family life.

One of the solutions is to order a sewage truck to pump out accumulated sewage as the cesspool fills up. But in some cases it is quite possible to manage on your own, finding the possibility of waste disposal. But in this case, special equipment will be required, in particular, a fecal pump with a chopper for cesspools. How to choose such a device, and what functions it can perform - is described in this publication.

To begin with, let's define the types of fecal pumps, which depend on the place of their installation.

  • Surface fecal pumps are self-priming devices capable of lifting a viscous liquid with a significant amount of contaminants from a certain depth through a sleeve lowered into a sewage pit. The sewage trucks familiar to most owners of private houses are equipped with just such a surface self-priming pump.

The advantages of such a scheme in part domestic use Hardly ever. Such pumps are usually very large and heavy, otherwise they cannot cope with the suction of a viscous liquid from a depth. Such bulkiness entails the need for a stationary installation, which, in turn, will require the creation certain conditions– protection from atmospheric precipitation and from negative air temperatures. Most often, surface pumps are used at treatment plants, at enterprises or in agricultural complexes. Purchasing such a device for a private home is an extra worry, although it will certainly cope with the task of cleaning an ordinary cesspool.

In addition, the operation of the electric drive is always accompanied by noise, which is also enhanced by the cooling of the pump - an air circuit is used here, that is, a fan located on the motor axis, covered with a casing.

  • Semi-submersible fecal pumps are almost always permanently installed equipment requiring special assembly. The point is that the electric drive (motor) is located on top, in the air, and the pump working chamber is immersed in the waste collector. They are connected by a long shaft for transmitting torque.

Such pumps have proven themselves well at large facilities, for example, at livestock complexes, where regular, almost daily pumping of accumulated waste is required. They also find application in an extensive sewerage system tied to one volumetric drive, which also has to be emptied quite often.

But under conditions household the use of such equipment, which is bulky, difficult to install and requires a room, is completely unreasonable.

  • The best choice for domestic use is a submersible fecal pump. They have small dimensions, are simple in periodic or constant use, unpretentious, the work is not accompanied by noise. They don't need air cooling, since during operation they are in a liquid medium that removes heat well from the electric drive.

Despite the very large variety of models on sale, and a significant variation in prices, almost all submersible fecal pumps are arranged in approximately the same way.

All such pumps are a vertically located cylinder. Top part- electric drive unit, protected by a housing (pos. 1), metal, less often - plastic. The power cable (pos. 2) enters the housing from above, ensuring complete sealing of the entry point. For carrying the pump and for hanging it in a cesspool on a cable, a metal handle (pos. 3) is rigidly fixed on the body. Special eyelets for fixing the suspension can also be provided.

Inside the housing there is an electric drive - a stator (pos. 4) and a rotor (pos. 5) which is mounted on a vertical shaft (pos. 6) to transfer rotation to the pump part. The shaft is supported by bearing groups (pos. 7).

Between the electric drive and the working chamber of the pump there is an oil chamber (pos. 8) - a sealed cavity filled with special technical oil. It performs three functions at once - it ensures a tight fit of the sealing collars to the rotating shaft, provides constant lubrication of the bearings and serves to remove heat, that is, to cool the friction units.

Below is the pump itself - the pumping part. This is a body (pos. 9) of a certain configuration - a "snail", in which the working chamber is located. From below, the chamber is usually closed with a lid (pos. 10), providing access for the pumped liquid in the center. Often special shape This cover also plays a role in the shredding of waste.

Inside the chamber there is an impeller (pos. 11) with an impeller. The rotation of the wheel creates a powerful centrifugal acceleration of the liquid, a significant increase in pressure at the periphery of the chamber with a rarefaction in the center, which leads to the formation of a high-pressure flow that exits through a special pipe (pos. 12). The branch pipe can be stationary, directed upwards or perpendicular to the pump axis, or it can have a flange connection, and then the direction of the outlet flow can be changed if desired - up or to the side. The couple can have a groove for attaching a sleeve with a clamp, or a locking part - for special hoses, like firefighters, which, by the way, can also be included in the pump kit - as shown in the illustration.

From below, either a support platform with holes for the passage of fluid to the working chamber (pos. 13) or special legs are attached to the pump - for secure installation pump on a solid base.

As already mentioned, high-quality fecal submersible pumps are exposed by a cutting mechanism. Waste water does not emit a large concentration of fibrous waste, paper, fabric, plastic bags, kitchen cleaners, etc. In order not to impede the operation of the pump impeller and to exclude the creation of plugs in the sleeve when pumping liquid, the cutting mechanism will crush these inclusions to sizes that will no longer be a serious hindrance.

Cutting mechanisms may vary slightly.

  • One of the varieties - a sharply honed impeller with blades-knives is placed on the shaft in front of the chamber entrance.
  • Another type is the impeller knife, the blades of which are tightly ground to the outer plane of the lower cover of the pump working chamber.

In fact, exactly the same principle as in a conventional home meat grinder

  • The next variety - the knife has cylindrical shape and equipped with two cutting edges, and two protrusions are made at the inlet to the chamber. When rotating, the edges of the cylinder and the protrusions work on the principle of scissors.

  • The knife can stand still, and the working pair to it, to create the effect of scissors, create the edges of the impeller blades.

  • Finally, the impeller itself can have a very intricate shape with blades turning into sharply honed knives.

Which type is better is hard to say. When choosing a pump, it would probably be useful to clarify whether it is possible to purchase spare parts for repairing the chopper, and how much they will cost.

Many pumps are immediately equipped with a water level switch. This allows them to be included in the automated pumping system of storage tanks. The control unit will turn off the pump when the tank is drained to a predetermined level, and turn it on when the water rises again to a certain level. The presence of a float switch does not interfere with the use of the pump in the usual, “manual” mode, however, the cost of such devices will be somewhat higher.

Of course, different models from leading pump manufacturers may have their own design features, but the principle of the device outlined above will still remain the same.

What is the functionality of a fecal submersible pump?

The direct purpose of the fecal pump is clear, but it is not limited to this at all. Its ruggedness and high performance open up many other applications in the most demanding different occasions that owners of their own houses have to face.

  • If the site is located in a lowland or on swampy soils, then a common occurrence is often the accumulation of moisture in the basement or basement. If you equip them with pits for collecting water, then as they fill up, you can pump them out using the same fecal submersible pump. Often, the pump is installed in such pits and permanently, and operates in automatic mode using a float switch.

  • If the farm has a submersible fecal pump, then it will always help to cope with the consequences of the elements - flooded due to floods, heavy rains, sudden snowmelt or man-made accidents, basements or residential premises, wells, low-lying folds of the site, etc. The presence of a chopper allows you not to be afraid that dirt or debris that has entered the pump will hinder its operation.

  • If a storm and (or) drainage sewerage, then the pump can also do a good job here. With its help, it is possible to prevent the overflow of wells or collectors, for example, during prolonged rains, when the drainage capacity of the wells is simply not enough. It can also be useful for emptying the last chamber of the septic tank - with its help, water is pumped out to filtration fields or even for some useful application.

Special bioactivators will help to clean the water in septic tanks and cesspools.

In vain, many owners of private houses ignore the use of special biological additives for autonomous sewers. are able to quickly process organic waste into water and harmless mineral sediment, improve the drainage capacity of storage wells, and eliminate unpleasant odors. More about this in a special publication of our portal.

  • Artificial reservoirs created on the site need periodic cleaning and water replacement. And in this case, a submersible fecal pump may well come to the rescue, which is not afraid of mud deposits at the bottom.

  • Finally, in the case when a natural reservoir - a lake or a river - is located in the immediate vicinity of the site, a pump can also be used for irrigation purposes. Of course, with its very high performance, it makes no sense to supply water directly to the irrigation installations, but it will not take much time to fill the irrigation tanks.

In a word, such a useful device will definitely find application, not even counting its main purpose.

How to choose a fecal submersible pump?

The main criteria for evaluating a submersible fecal pump

If a decision is made to purchase a fecal submersible pump for a cesspool, a number of specific criteria should be followed when choosing.

  • Pump supply voltage and power consumption. Almost all household-class fecal submersible pumps are designed to operate from a conventional 220 V 50 Hz network. Power indicators predetermine the rest performance characteristics equipment - its performance, the pressure created, the potential for pumping liquids of increased viscosity or with large quantity pollution.

For country conditions, a pump with a power of up to 500 watts is usually sufficient. But if you plan to regularly service autonomous sewerage in home permanent residence, then it is better to choose a device with a power of about 1 ÷ 1.5 kW.

As the power increases, the energy consumption also increases. But if the pump has good performance, then long work and it is not expected - usually, even for pumping solid volumes into several cubic meters of water, 5 ÷ 10 minutes are enough, and in such a short time it will not “wind up” the electric meter in any sensitive way.

  • The performance of a submersible pump is its ability to pump a certain volume within a unit of time. Usually for drainage and fecal pumps, this figure is expressed in liters per minute. Even the most "weak" pumps, as a rule, cope with a volume of about 150 l / min. The performance of pumps with a power of 1.5 kW or more can reach 500 ÷ 650 l/min! Half a ton per minute - even for a large capacity it does not take much time!
  • Created pressure. This is a measure of the fluid pressure generated by the pump at the outlet. Typically, for pumping equipment of this class, this value is expressed in meters of water column. This pressure should be enough to lift liquid waste from the depth and deliver it along the horizontal section of the pipe (sleeve) to the disposal site. We must not forget about the horizontal section, especially since it is often necessary to work with viscous waste, and the hydraulic resistance of the pipe can be quite large. For an approximate calculation, you can focus on the following ratio - 1 meter of pressure created will ensure the movement of fluid along a 4-meter horizontal section.

Typically, household submersible fecal pumps are capable of creating a pressure of 10 ÷ 15, sometimes more than meters.

  • Body material. Preference should still be given to metal models - they are more reliable. But it must be either cast iron or high-quality stainless steel. Wastewater- this is a very aggressive environment from the point of view of chemistry, and ordinary steel will not last long in such conditions.

Pumps in different housings - cast iron, stainless steel and plastic

Cast iron, of course, is cheaper, but their pumps are quite massive, and this will need to be taken into account when choosing a suspension - a rope, cable or chain. In addition, cast iron should be handled with a certain degree of caution - the alloy is brittle, and can crack with an accentuated impact.

Stainless steel pumps are lighter and look prettier (if that matters in this case...). But such improvements, of course, are reflected in the cost of the model.

Plastic pumps cause a lot of controversy, and they have not yet won full trust from users. It is clear that modern polymers often even surpass metals in their strength properties, but certain concerns still remain.

  • If it is planned to automate the pumping process, or in order to insure yourself in case of your own inattention, it is better to choose a pump that is immediately equipped with float sensor water level switch.

The automation associated with the float switch will prevent the pump from running dry after the well or pit has been emptied

If you plan to use the pump only in manual mode, then you can save on this option.

  • The pump cannot be lowered to any depth relative to the water surface - this parameter is also specified in technical specifications products.
  • For all pumps intended for pumping dirty water, and for fecal - in particular, it is important allowable size solid inclusions. It is usually indicated in millimeters, for example, up to 30 mm - this is considered a good indicator.
  • If hot water is to be pumped, the pump must be designed for such operating conditions. Usually, most fecal submersible pumps are designed for cold water - with temperatures up to 35 ° C.
  • The pump is cooled from the outside by the liquid in which it is immersed. But as it is pumped out, the power unit can protrude above the water and begin to warm up. Therefore, the built-in protection of the pump against overheating will never be superfluous - when a certain critical temperature is reached on the stator windings, the electrical circuit will be interrupted.

If there are frequent interruptions with a stable power supply in the area of \u200b\u200bresidence, then the model must have protection against power surges or an extended range of permissible

  • The reputation of the equipment manufacturer is important. Of course, it is best to choose models famous brands, foreign and domestic, be sure to specify how the region is organized service maintenance and how actions will be taken in case of a complaint about the purchased pump - immediate replacement, refund, sending to the factory for repair, etc.

Fecal pumps of the Wilo, Grundfos, Unipump, Dzhileks, Pedrollo, Herz, Whirlwind, Metabo, Calpeda, ESPA, Quattro Elementi brands enjoy unconditional authority , "Sturm", "Sprut" and others. But it must be a truly original product, and not a cheap fake for it. Therefore, it is necessary to purchase such equipment only in specialized stores, after carefully reading the accompanying documentation.

A little from personal experience

First, a brief background on the issue.

The scene of action is the city of Bendery, Moldova, Transnistria. The distance from the house to a fairly large river by European standards, the Dniester, is about 500 meters, but the height difference is quite significant, about 6 meters.

We bought the house 14 years ago - in September 2002. Before that, no one lived in it for a couple of years. From the "amenities" there was only a tap in the house - there was no toilet, no bath, no shower. The waste pit is located in the yard, the depth is 3.5 meters, concreted walls and free drainage from below. From above it is closed by a cast-iron hatch. By the time of purchase, it was, of course, almost empty.

In the first months of residence, all communal amenities were created, including a bath, toilet, washbasin, washing machine- they were all tied to this pit. The only exception was the kitchen - due to the peculiarities of the location of the premises of the house. The drain from the kitchen was brought to another pit, which serves as storm well and is located near the gate to the courtyard.

Why is this being told? The fact is that for 12 years, the intensive use of water by a family of 4 has never led to overflow. waste pit. Moreover, someone took a bath - almost every day. But two years ago, while doing small-scale work in the bathroom, I decided at the same time to call a sewage truck and clean the cesspool. There was no good adviser then - DO NOT TOUCH THE PIT until she copes with her drainage functions. And I didn’t have the mind to read forums on the Internet - on this subject, ladies are given a lot of recommendations of the same plan.

In a word, after the pit was pumped to the bottom, began serious problems. Just a couple of months later, water began to seep up through the hatch. Again the call of the car - and history repeats itself with enviable regularity. Apparently, the hydrological balance of the well and the surrounding soil was disturbed, and the drainage quality fell several times.

It's a shame that the arriving car literally pumped out only water, since there is a minimum of dense waste. I have been using bioadditives for a long time, and the bacteria work well, so the sludge practically does not accumulate.

Giving a lot of money for pumping water is, of course, unreasonable. Each call is 200 rubles of ours (the approximate ratio with the Russian ruble is 1:5.5, that is, one pumping out is about 1,100 rubles). And after a year and a half of torment, it was decided to distill water from the sewage pit to the storm pit, into which, as already mentioned, the kitchen sewerage was also removed. From there, the water goes into the drainage “with a whistle”, and an approximately stable level is always maintained in the pit.

Laying pipes for overflowing water by gravity was considered unprofitable, since the entire yard is paved concrete slabs(more from the old owners). And so a fecal submersible pump was purchased.

The model cannot be called a brand, but these are the features of our unrecognized region - high-quality equipment with a factory warranty comes here very hard. The packaging indicates that this is a Russian production, Chelyabinsk, but no accompanying documents were attached, although the pump was purchased at the largest specialized plumbing store in the city.

However, the price of the issue was very suitable - exactly 1000 of our rubles (for Russian, therefore - 5500 rubles).

And with the help of this pump, water has already been pumped from one pit to another four times - that is, 800 rubles for calling a sewer has already been “recaptured”.

The last time this was done was this morning, June 4th. More than a week went by heavy rains, and the cesspool "made itself felt."

The pumping process has already been worked out, and is carried out by one person literally in 15-20 minutes.

IllustrationBrief description of the operation to be performed
Here it is - a cast-iron hatch of a cesspool.
Located in the center of a paved courtyard.
The yard has a rather significant slope towards the gate, and in front of the gate there is a storm gutter covered with a grate.
It leads to the second pit, where we will pump water from the first.
The distance in a straight line between the pits is about 12 meters.
A small "defeat" was caused by the fact that work had begun on installing a new plastic hatch on the storm pit - there was a wooden one, already pretty rotten.
Work was temporarily suspended due to heavy rains.
The hatch frame has already been installed, but has not yet been completely walled into the mortar.
This is the sunroof itself, waiting for final installation.
From the very beginning, it was decided not to use a long flexible sleeve, in order to avoid twisting, chafing, etc.
A set of three meters was purchased sewer pipes 50 mm - and for the money it turned out to be more profitable.
The cat appears in the frame for the second time: this is not because I like to “post cats” - this slicker just loves to “help”, no matter what I do.
For direct connection to the pump, a piece of flexible hose 50 mm long was used, to the depth of lowering the pump into the pit.
By the way, the standard clamp with a bolt that came with the pump turned out to be of little use - it was replaced with a worm.
On the other hand, the sleeve ends with a 90° bend - already for connection to the pipe.
During the second pumping in a row, a small emergency happened - a strong pressure at the place of the change in the direction of the flow tore off the outlet from the socket of the straight section of the pipe.
The “odorous soul” was then nevertheless managed to be avoided, but then measures were taken - the connection is fixed with self-tapping screws: they are not briefly removed or screwed into the drilled holes.
Assembling a straight section is a matter of one minute ...
On the opposite side, a flexible sleeve is also used.
This is due to the fact that it is necessary to bring the pipe into the "stormwater" channel.
Such a measure is temporary, and after the hatch is ready, a straight structure ending in a rectangular outlet will be used.
The storm grate is raised and the pipe is led into the channel leading to the storage and drainage well (pit).
For hanging the pump in the cesspool, the most inexpensive option- nylon rope 12 mm - this will be enough.
For ease of lowering and lifting, knots are imposed on it.
The loop will be hung on a piece of steel corner laid over an open hatch.
Everything is ready - you can open the hatch.
Yesterday the water came out. Today, the level has already dropped somewhat, but it is still critical. Any use of even 50 liters of water will result in an overflow.
Carefully bleed the rope (in no case - not by the power cable!), We lower the pump into the cesspool.
Full readiness to start pumping.
The procedure was originally planned to be carried out in the visual control mode, so the float switch was not tied up.
We turn on the power cable to the network - and observe the process.
The rumble of the pump is almost inaudible, only a slight vibration.
The water level is dropping rapidly.
At the other end of the "main" the flexible hose was inflated by the pressure of the pumped water.
The transfer lasted 8 minutes.
About three cubes of water (the pit expands much from the neck down) are transferred to the drainage well.
Now there will be no problems for 2-3 months.
It is advisable to flush the pump immediately. We put it in a container with water, turn it on for 10 ÷ 15 seconds. At the same time, we supply water to the container through garden hose. The inside of the working chamber of the pump and at the same time all the sleeves and pipes are washed.
The cesspool hatch is in place.
We disassemble the pipe connections, and put them in the garage for storage until the next time.
The pump and the sleeve attached to it are thoroughly rinsed from above with water pressure, and can also be sent for storage.

So, the whole procedure took about 15-20 minutes, without the involvement of assistants, and this is also taking into account pauses for photography. By the way, the arrival of a sewage truck into the yard and its work used to take even more time.

Findings:

  • The first one is that I don’t regret purchasing a fecal submersible pump, as I got the opportunity to periodically clean the cesspool from water on my own. The call of a sewage truck is postponed for a very distant future, at a time when circumstances will already force the pumping out of bottom silt deposits. But, judging by the observations, such a need is not expected in the next few years.
  • And the second. Guided by my own experience, I will take the liberty of giving advice - do not pump out the cesspool to dryness with a sewage machine, while it is able to cope with the drainage of water on its own! I won't let sewers to my second, "working" well for any money!

Fecal pump for a cesspool: how to choose, connect, configure - step by step instructions

The principle of operation of a submersible fecal pump - photo

Fecal submersible pumps are used in chemically aggressive environments, therefore, such units are produced with a cast-iron and steel casing that is resistant to corrosion. Install a submersible pump at the very bottom of the cesspool vertically or horizontally. For this:

  • special guides are installed on the walls of the pit to prevent the sewer pump from being skewed;
  • a pipe is connected to the bottom of the pump for carrying out cleaning works(pumping sewage);
  • a chain / cable is connected to the pump housing, with which they literally immerse the pump into the cesspool to the bottom (or simply below the liquid level) and turn on the pump to the mains.

The float allows you to control the operation of the pump. As soon as the level of effluent in the pit becomes very low, a shutdown signal is sent from the float. This prevents the pump from idling air and saves energy.

Submersible pumps require cleaning after three months of continuous operation and oil change after 2000 hours of operation. If extraneous noise or rattle occurs, turn off the fecal pump and rinse, removing large waste that has fallen into the impeller.

  • The maximum power of such pumps is 40 kW.
  • The maximum volume of wastewater that the pump can pump in 1 hour is 400 cubic meters.

Sewer (faecal) semi-submersible pumps

Semi-submersible vertical pumps, unlike previous model are made from materials that cannot resist corrosion. However, given the principle of operation, this is not a disadvantage.

When installing the pump, its engine is left outside the cesspool, while the working part is lowered into the effluent tank. Semi-submersible pumps, just like submersible pumps, are equipped with a float switch, however, due to the small diameter of the pipes, it is impossible to install a chopper in such a design. Therefore, semi-submersible sewage pumps are used only for draining sewage with solid inclusions, the size of which does not exceed 1.5 - 5 cm. The immersion depth depends entirely on the length of the working hose.

Pumps sewer (fecal) superficial

Surface sewer pumps are installed outside the cesspool, lowering only the suction hose to its bottom. Fecal pumps of this type are mobile, due to their light weight and ease of installation, they are operated several times a year to clean the cesspool, after which they are dismantled and cleaned.

Among virtues surface pumps the following can be distinguished:

  • the lowest cost among all available types of fecal pumps;
  • pumps are mobile and can be used to clean several cesspools located at a distance from each other;
  • are completed with a grinder;
  • the fecal pump does not come into contact with the pumped liquid, and the engine is air-cooled, which guarantees a long service life and ease of use.

However shortcomings surface sewer pumps have much more:

  • surface pumps are significantly inferior in power and suction height (maximum 8.5 meters) to submersible and semi-submersible ones;
  • the pump housing is not protected from moisture, which requires an additional canopy for the operation of the device;
  • at sub-zero temperatures operation becomes impossible without the use of a special protective cover.

Surface sewer pumps can pump liquid with a temperature of up to one hundred degrees and with solid inclusions up to 76 mm in size.

General rules and tips for connecting and operating sewer pumps

If you plan to permanently connect the pump for cleaning the cesspool, then it is preferable to install PVC pipes instead of a soft hose. At the same time, sealing the joint is not necessary, and pipe insulation to prevent freezing in winter period- necessarily. In addition, it is desirable to mount check valve so that the drains do not overflow back into the pit after the pump stops working, as well as a shut-off valve (installed in a pipe to preserve the sewage system).

For the successful operation of the pump in stationary mode (as well as for cases of unforeseen power outages), you will need additional source power supply - electric generator (fuel - diesel or gasoline), equipped with a system emergency shutdown and grounding.

When installing the pump both permanently and for the period of a single cleaning of the cesspool, it is imperative to test the operation of the unit and set the level of shutdown by the float sensor.

To do this, before starting, several trial tests of the operation of the fecal pump are carried out using not sewage, but ordinary water. It is at this stage of debugging and tuning that it is easiest to identify possible problems in the work and eliminate them.

How to choose

When buying a sewer pump, you should pay attention to the points below:

  • the possibility of installing the pump horizontally and vertically;
  • pump size;
  • engine power and other technical characteristics;
  • the ability to work at any temperature and in chemically aggressive environments;
  • the presence of a chopper, a float beacon and a control panel;
  • country and firm - manufacturer, availability of after-sales service.

Responsibly approaching the choice of a fecal pump, you can always clean the sewer or cesspool with your own hands. small size pump will allow it to operate even in the narrowest wells. A powerful engine will ensure stable and fast pumping of the most polluted water.
