Moss lettering. Artificial moss in the interior. How to make artificial moss? Forest moss for green indoor compositions

Introduction

Driving along the landscaped road, I just fell in love with the variety of greenery in the forest along the road. It was spring and everything was green! After returning home, I decided to paint a picture with different foliage.

brushes

In addition to the standard set of Photoshop brushes, I used my own brushes. I called them "flat bristle" (flat bristle) and "knife" (knife) because they mimic the traditional tools that I use in my work. I use these two brushes throughout the entire painting process. I use the knife brush to create tree trunks and branches. A small, hard brush is for detailing, and a soft one is for blending shades. The bristle brush I use when working on big details, painting over large objects.

I always start my work with a sketch, either drawn with a pencil on paper, then scanned on a computer, or with a pen and a tablet. I never clean up my line art since I started painting right over the sketch. For this work, I sketched on a tablet using a small hard round brush with Pen pressure.

I started with a sketch of the girl's figure, at first it was a contour image, gradually I added volume and drapery. Once the figure was complete, I started painting in the trees that were in the background and a few other small details like the ivy leaves and dangling vines that created an interesting composition and initially reminded me of what I wanted to add along the way. work.

I used the Lasso tool to select the shape of the tree, then filled this area with a dark brown color. Using my knife brush, I painted large branches and small twigs. Then I created a new layer and set it to Hard Light. Using a bristle brush, I brushed a light brown over the wood to set the light source on it. I also painted over the dress to make it easier to work with the space later on.

I sketched out the lines of the face, such as the level of the eyes, nose, and mouth. I made these lines red on a separate layer with Opacity (Opacity) 50%. These lines will help a lot to keep the correct anatomy of the face as I begin to draw it in detail.

STEP 2

After the sketch is ready, the main work begins. I usually work from the edge to the center, drawing the background first, leaving the face for last. I started with a big tree. Painted bark and moss.

I redid the facial features and determined the main light and shade. To keep the lines clean, with the help of the Pen tool, I saved separately " left hand», « right hand”, “trunk”, etc. This will help me a lot later when mixing colors and adding shadows. To save an object with the Pen tool, circle it, press the right mouse button and select "select" (make selection), then click Select (Select) - Save selected (Save selection), give a name to the selected object and click Save ( save).

STEP 3

At this point, I started adding texture such as moss, ivy, creepers and fallen leaves in the background.

For the moss, I created a brush that I painted myself. Using a hard round brush with a small diameter, I painted a few different dots and lines. From a distance, these dots will resemble small popovik flowers. When the sketch of the brush is ready, I do the following: Edit (Edit) – Define brush (Define Brush Preset). In the Brush Dynamics section, check the boxes for Scattering and Pen pressure.

Here, in a small example, you can see how I added moss to the stone. Using my moss brush, I covered the tree with moss on a new layer. Create a layer (Create a Layer) - Clipping mask (Clipping mask), applied to the active layer so that it fits perfectly on the stone. I used the same method when I covered the tree with moss.

I also lengthened the girl's hair, giving her a more romantic look; painted it with large dragonfly wings and some hummingbirds next to it, just to see if I wanted to add those elements. But I decided to leave this idea, because these details have already been used by me in other paintings ... Instead, I thought about the leaves, and that they could be a very interesting base for the wings. And the dragonfly wings moved to her dress :)

STEP 4

Now I've started working on the bird feeder... deciding to take a break from the ivy! I used a sample feeder that hung in my garden. The samples I use for two purposes: setting the light and defining the structure. When making a sketch, I first drew a vertical line, it will serve as the axis for the feeder. Then I drew her general outlines and added flowers at the end. Once the basic shape and chiaroscuro are done, I start inventing my own design for the feeder... adding flowers, leaves, ornaments, etc. The point of the pattern was to study its structure, so next time I won't need a pattern to draw a feeder, I can now do it without a photo.

STEP 5

At this point, I added a log, then some small flowers on top of it to add to the fairy tale feel. I also drew the snails and colored them according to the location of the light source. I spent a lot of time painting the ivy leaves. The essence of all these efforts is to make something unusual, which would be different from the main mass of leaves in the paintings. Sounds simple, but it takes days!!

STEP 6

Click on the image to view the image in full size and 100% quality.

I started to draw the folds on the dress and added the leaf wings. The shape and color of the leaves were taken from a photograph of young leaves that I once photographed. I never leave home without my Lumix camera. Of course, she does not take high-quality professional photos (besides, she fell more than a dozen times!), But for me she does her job perfectly. Beautiful shots can lie in wait anywhere, and I don't want to miss them! The folds in the leaves were one of those "happy accidents" that caught me in those days when I was just working on the picture.

For the dress, I used my own pattern. And again, I just needed to catch the right light and understand the texture of the dress; it didn't matter that the original dress was pink. My goal was to capture the main creases in the dress so that it looks more natural on the girl's body, not all creases were visible in the photo. I wanted to understand “how does this tissue behave on the body?”

Once the folds are done, I add my own design to the dress. I really enjoyed this part of the job. I added a dragonfly wing on upper part a dress that was slightly overlaid with another ivy-leaf-like print that echoed in the background. I also collected some flowers and leaves as the heroine's headdress.

STEP 7

Again I return to ivy and vines! I added a few small swirling vines to give them a wilder character and to make the background look more unusual. I drew a few berries to add some variety to the shapes, and a couple of white flowers to give me something to stop my eyes from looking at all this greenery. Then I added the birds. I painted each of them on a separate layer, periodically changing their position until they found their place. I wanted one of the birds (the one that the heroine is looking at) to direct the viewer's gaze into the depths of the picture, because if the viewer followed the gaze of the heroine, he would go beyond it, turning his eyes to the side. Later, I added another flower in the girl's hair to further "rive" the caretaker's eye.

STEP 8

Click on the image to view the image in full size and 100% quality.

In this step, I'll show you how I created a texture brush or "stamp" from a photo. Because the leaves were light against a dark background, they appeared to be absolutely white. If I chose this pattern, the background would be just a texture, not much like leaves. Therefore, I had to make the leaves become black shapes. Do the following: Image (Image) – Correction (Adjustments) – Invert (Invert). The result is a great pattern, which will be the leaves. I selected the zone I wanted and Defined the brush preset. The picture shows the same stamp with leaves.

STEP 9

More details!

I painted a thin web on a separate layer. Out of laziness, I simply duplicated the layer and pasted the same web on other parts of the picture. I also drew sparkling cobwebs hanging from the flowers and on the hem of the heroine's dress. Finally fixed my foot! It was too big and I had to shrink it. Then I added more cobwebs on the ground where her dress touched the leaves to show that she was struggling through the forest and breaking through the strands of the cobwebs.

Then beads were added to the hem of the dress. On these beads, I painted "water droplets" to make them sparkle like dewdrops. I also added an ornamental design on the hem of the dress on a separate layer. This layer was set to Overlay (Overlay), I used a thin brush of 5 pixels to draw small parts. I also used a fallen leaf stamp on the bottom of the dress to add more texture.

Now I just spray on the "glitters" and add the lace to the dress using a fine brush. Then I drew the earrings and the ivy necklace.

STEP 10

And now I'm back to her face. I changed and added more colors and other details to the girl's headdress. The main difficulty for me when drawing a face is not drawing eyelashes, but being able to maintain the proportion of the eyes and other parts of the face. The lines (which I drew at the beginning of the work) helped a lot in this matter, and I was able to work on the features of her face without fear of distorting it. Flip horizontally also helps to notice some errors related to object proportionality.

Finally, I added fingernails and knuckle creases to achieve a more realistic look. At the end, I added some freckles by painting a few brown dots on a separate layer set to Overlay (Overlay) and Opacity (Opacity) 25%.

At the very end, I merged all the layers, checked if all the objects in the picture were correctly lit, given that the light fell from left to right. On the ivy leaves on the tree, the light falls unevenly, creating light and dark areas. To achieve this effect, I created a new layer in Overlay mode, added "light" to the middle of the tree, darkening where the girl's wings crush the ivy leaves, and added highlights to the snails so that the viewer's eye is sure to notice these small details.

In the end, I again merged all the layers (Flatten image), made a duplicate of the resulting image in the mode Soft light(Soft light) to make it clearer, add sharpness. But this technique can increase the saturation (saturation) of the picture, so I do the following: Image (Image) – Correction (Adjustments) – Tone / Saturation (Hue / Saturation) and move the Saturation slider to -60. I merge the layers one last time and save the file. Ready!

Thanks for reading this tutorial. I hope you found something useful from this tutorial.

Eco-style elements are chosen for various reasons. Some are looking for similarities with Hobbitania, others are trying to compensate for the lack of vegetation in the jungles of megacities, others simply love plants. All these reasons made live moss in the interior extremely popular.

Active urbanization has led to an increased demand for eco-elements. Designers choose moss for finishing vertical surfaces, decorating furniture and accessories. It is a modern alternative to flower pots and has many practical and aesthetic benefits.

For the first time, Norwegian artists decided to use living vegetation in the interior. Ten years ago, at one of the London exhibitions, they presented to the public a live installation in which reindeer moss adorned the wall behind the head of the bed. Such creative use forest flora caused a real stir and since then not a single eco-style interior can do without this element.

Moss is lovely wall covering. With it, you can do vertical garden in your own apartment.

  1. A moss phytowall does not need heavy structures and soil. To create it, special plates with spores of this plant are used. They do not need watering and tolerate shortages well. daylight.
  2. The living wall is in a good way soundproofing.
  3. Moss allows you to control. It absorbs moisture from airspace premises.
  4. You can make abstract drawings and patterns from moss slabs using different shades plants.
  5. A living wall does not need to be cut or fertilized.
  6. A moss phytowall can be decorated with indoor plants, such as ferns or climbing plants.

To create a living wall, stabilized moss is used, that is, canned. natural plant cover special solutions, which stabilize it, prevent it from rotting, do not allow bacteria and mold to multiply. Then it is glued to the MDF panel. Based on the preferences of the client, it can be fire resistant or moisture resistant, have different shape and size.

Stabilized panels are made from reindeer moss, better known as reindeer moss. Coated with special solutions and dyes, it has a bright and elastic texture, pleasant to the touch and beautiful to look at. It is completely environmentally friendly and harmless to humans or pets, does not cause allergic reactions, and is durable.

The phytowall must be sheltered from children and pets in order to prevent food poisoning, because there is no such coverage.

The living wall does not need special care. If the air in the room is dry, the moss can begin to dry, then it needs to be sprinkled with water from a spray bottle.

The thickness of moss wall panels ranges from 10 to 50 millimeters, depending on the properties that they were endowed with during production. They are attached to the wall with liquid nails and self-tapping screws. To create a living wall, the surface does not need to be leveled, it just needs to be clean and dry.

Image taken with a plant and others natural elements, looks stylish and outrageous. Such a "painting" will perfectly fit into the room, made in eco-style. Moss paintings can be used as an alternative to a living wall.

This art first appeared in Japan. Local craftsmen "grow" paintings from real plants, and then sell them. "Canvases" create the effect of being in nature and promotes meditation.

But living picture on the wall does not have to cost several thousand dollars. You can make it yourself. By itself, moss in a living room looks unusual, and even a simple rectangle made from a living plant can decorate the interior.

Using natural dyes, you can give the apartment flora more expression. Bright Wall panels moss can be combined with natural green details to create an exclusive composition. But painting should be carried out after fixing the panel on the wall.

A living wall is well complemented by accessories made of natural moss. You can also make them yourself. For example, from forest moss, branches and cones to create beautiful composition: take the plant along with the ground and place it in a suitable vase.

In addition to paintings and live compositions, there are other options for decorating the interior with moss:

  • silhouettes;
  • greenboards;
  • inscriptions;
  • moss rugs;
  • Photo frame;
  • furniture details.

A large amount of greenery in the house contributes to the harmonization of space, especially if done.

For interior decoration, you can use not only phytopanels, but also ordinary forest moss. In order for him to feel good in unusual conditions, he must be taken along with the ground.

Such vegetation is well suited for creating eco-elements in a residential area:

  • for decoration flower pots and vases;
  • to create a cache-pot;
  • for decorating trays and glass containers.

Natural moss can be attached to the surface with PVA glue.

You can find a plant not only in the forest, but also in stores. You can also make it yourself.

Save on natural vegetation will help artificial moss. When performed correctly, it is almost indistinguishable from forest plant. If you do not know how to make artificial moss with your own hands, follow these guidelines.

What you need:

  • the hard part of the double-sided green sponge;
  • acrylic paints in green shades;
  • transparent superglue;
  • toothpicks.

Technique:

  • 1. Cut off the hard part from the sponge and grind it.
  • 2.Mix pieces with acrylic paint with toothpicks, mixing thoroughly.
  • 3. Add glue and mix again. A quick-drying paste is best applied directly to the coating, and only then lay out the moss. If the glue dries for several hours, it can be mixed with a washcloth, and then create a composition.

You can do a lot with this technique. original items decor and beautiful accessories in ecostyle.

This technique is well suited for creating greenboards - wooden panels decorated with moss inscriptions. Also, artificial lichen can be used for wall graffiti or inscriptions in the apartment. This option will perfectly fit into modern interior styles, while maintaining an echo of nature in a large and noisy metropolis.

Stabilized moss can decorate any room, because it is not whimsical and harmless. It is not uncommon for designers to combine solid living walls with ornate patterns to create whimsical wallpapers.

There are other options for using this plant:

  • 1) In the living room, hallway or bedroom living wall looks impressive and stylish. It is also suitable for a children's room, because if the panel is damaged, it is easy to replace.
  • 2) The bathroom and toilet are a great alternative to traditional tiles, especially if you are interested in. In wet room moss feels good and keeps fresh look.
  • 3) One more good option- gym. It is much more pleasant to play sports surrounded by nature.
  • 4) In the office, moss will help create a favorable atmosphere. With it, you can decorate the walls with inspiring inscriptions or company logos.

Interior design is a very inspiring process. Each person wants to make his apartment unique and cozy, give it an original look, highlight his home among the gray monotony of the "concrete jungle". All these tasks will be successfully solved by artificial moss: eco-style is now becoming more popular. It allows you to visually approximate the typical city apartment to nature without compromising its comfort. So designers are actively fantasizing in the direction of using this material.

wall ideas

Artists from Norway were the first to decide to use vegetation in the interior. True, they used live, not artificial moss. A few years ago, at an exhibition in London, they offered to the attention of an intrigued public a fragment of a room where the wall above the head of the bed was lined with reindeer moss. The audience liked the idea so much that it began to be actively exploited throughout the civilized world.

Artificial moss for decoration can cover the entire wall, for example, over a seating area. And it can be used fragmentarily, framing a plasma screen or shelving with books. The “islands” of it, artistically scattered over the surface, look very elegant. And vertical narrow stripes of moss visually overestimate low ceilings. At the same time, the relief of such a coating will make the decoration of the room more convex and spectacular.

Artificial moss goes well with almost everything. finishing materials. He loses only with a frankly urban element - plastic panels. But it combines wonderfully with glass and chrome, thanks to which it can be used even in a high-tech room.

Moss as a material for decorative elements

Not everyone dares to use vegetation for wall decoration. But for the decoration of individual details, decorative artificial moss is a very valuable find. First of all, this applies to flower pots. In most home gardens, they are of various sizes and have a different style orientation. Or even on the windowsills there are boring plastic containers. This gives the impression of some slovenliness and reduces both the showiness of the design as a whole and the attractiveness of indoor plants. The “landscape” will look much more elegant if the pots are glued with artificial moss. This idea is especially good for large tubs.

The artificial moss used in the design of frames for mirrors, paintings and photographs is very effective. Such natural spots in the interior make it warmer and more comfortable. Moss paintings are very interesting. True, to create them, you either need to be able to draw yourself, or hire a professional artist. And, finally, lampshades decorated with moss give a completely unimaginable effect. And so it is possible to finish desk lamp, and sconces, and chandeliers.

Furniture with moss inserts

Designers from the Verde Profilo company have advanced the furthest in the eco-direction. Their furniture, trimmed with moss, made a splash. Inserts (from a living plant, by the way) are found on the headboards, coffee tables, doors and covers of bedside tables. In our country, this furniture is inaccessible. And if you find where to order it, it will cost you almost more than a budget car.

However, with some ingenuity and growing hands from where it should be, you will be able to get the result no worse. So, moss rolls on the surface of your favorite table. It is better to choose a model with a glass top, so it will be clearer and more effective. Then the vegetation is covered with glass of the same size - and you get magnificent furniture in a naturalistic style.

country design

Moss in the landscape is a long and actively used material. If your site is limited by the old stone fence, it can be revived with patterns and drawings made from this plant. They can also decorate the sides of an artificial pond or the basement of your country estate - the building will take on an old and mysterious look.

Benefits of artificial moss

Initially, the interior was finished with natural moss. However, it has a number of disadvantages. First, the plant needs moisture. When it dries out, it loses much of its decorative effect. Secondly, live moss tends to grow: often not at all where it is needed. Thirdly, some of its species are poisonous. If there are small children and animals in the house, plant installations can be dangerous for them.

All these shortcomings are deprived of artificial moss. And most importantly - it does not need to be grown, cared for and waited until it occupies the territory intended for it. Artificial moss is sold in mats, large rolls, and clumps. So the decorator has the opportunity to purchase it in the form that best suits the idea.

How to make artificial moss?

It is clear that if you are going to trim an entire wall with moss, then it is better to buy it in a specialized store. But if you need a small piece, you can do without shopping trips. There are several ways to make artificial moss with your own hands:

  1. Thick paper is taken - colored or white. In the latter case, paints will be needed to give it desired color. The paper is processed with fine sandpaper until it starts to crumble. Then it breaks into pieces right size and used in decoration.
  2. Foam rubber is cut or torn into small pieces and stained in suitable colors. For a sample, you can take a photograph of natural moss. When the workpiece dries, the pieces are glued to the intended place.
  3. Take a sponge to wash dishes. The hard part comes off from it and is painted in the desired tone.

All of the above options will be a wonderful imitation of natural moss!

Art art continues to be replenished with new ideas and concepts. Relatively recently, a new direction has appeared - eco-art - the creation of patterns and inscriptions on buildings using moss.
You can immediately say that it turns out beautifully, and most importantly, easily, quickly and most importantly - inexpensively.

To create moss inscriptions on the wall, we need:
- moss,
- water,
- kefir,
- blender or mixer
- hair gel,
- dishes, brush,
- any rough surface in the form of a wall or fence.

The recipe for preparing the necessary raw materials is quite simple:
1) Gather some moss in a forest or park (3-4 small pieces are enough).
2) Put the moss in an unnecessary bowl and pour 700 ml of warm water.
3) Add a little hair gel (2 teaspoons), mix.
4) Then add 1.5 cups of kefir. And we beat it either in a blender (but keep in mind that it will take a long time to wash it later), or we love it in another way, for example, with a mixer. After whipping, you should get a homogeneous mass.

Everything, the necessary composition is ready. Dip the brush into the prepared composition and you can safely proceed to creativity, namely drawing on any surface (fence, concrete wall etc.). In order for the moss to grow well, it is important not to forget to sprinkle it with water at least once a week.
