DIY coffee tables transformers. Transforming coffee and dining table: how it differs from others and how it is created. Sawing and edging chipboard

You can't arrange a lot of furniture in a small apartment. The owners should think about interior items that can simultaneously perform several functions. Two tables - coffee and dining - can easily replace one transforming table. Buying this product will hit your pocket, so it's better to do it yourself.

What can you do at a transforming table?

Behind the enlarged surface of the transforming table it is convenient to dine with a large company

The biggest advantage of multi-form tables is their versatility. A seemingly standard table can be turned into a completely different one, which can have any purpose:

  • Table for a solemn reception of guests;
  • A place where you can cook and cut vegetables and fruits;
  • The surface on which breakfast, lunch and dinner;
  • Table for work (if you have to read or write in the kitchen).

To these functions, you can add the use of a transforming table as a cabinet or coffee table, but these appointments are more modern.

The most popular and useful option is to combine a coffee table with a dining table. As long as there are no changes in the life of the owners of this piece of furniture, there may be a vase of flowers and a framed photograph on it, or there may be magazines. But as soon as guests arrive, the table area increases so that the hosts can occupy it with cutlery and treats.

How does a coffee table transform into a dining table?

The principle of turning an ordinary table into a dining table is based on changing its size. This is facilitated by varying the shape and height of the countertop above the floor. The table surface gets bigger and taller in one or more steps:

  • Raising the legs of the table in the same way as the ironing board;
  • Separating table elements stacked together (like the pages of a book) and then pulling them out;
  • Combination of the above two methods.

Having decided to create a transforming table yourself, you must first decide on the type of transformation. When choosing, you need to deviate from individual preferences. And to know for sure which way to turn a table from one to another is better, it is recommended to study the information on the forums.

This is how the folding table mechanism works

If you want to make a transforming table so that there is a place in the apartment for romantic dinner for two, it is wiser to stop at the method of transformation No. 1. And when from time to time it becomes necessary to host friends (up to 10 people), it is much more correct to make a table, the area of which is increased by method No. 2 or 3.

Most often, men choose to self-manufacturing a table, parts of the tabletop of which are removed to the sides, making room for built-in elements. These additional components of the table are located inside it or stored separately (like hair dryer nozzles).

The transformation of a coffee table into a dining table is carried out thanks to the installation of special mechanisms. They can be sliding surfaces, gas lift loops that lift and hold the “lids” of the table, and special fittings.

Materials and tools

Usually a multifunctional table is made of wood (and they take solid bars), chipboard, glued wood panels and glass. But not only the usual lumber, but also unnecessary things like a suitcase can serve as a raw material for the manufacture of such an interior item, window frame or pallets.

Chic and unusual in their appearance, transforming tables are made exclusively from ordinary laminated fiberboards or medium-density boards.

How much material is needed can be calculated immediately. To assemble a standard square transformer table, use:

  • 4 bars that will become the legs of the table;
  • Chipboard 2.2cm thick for countertop ( Alternative option- sheet of plywood);
  • Chipboard 1.6 cm thick for the body;
  • 4 corner mounts connecting the surface of the table with the legs;
  • Pipes with a diameter of 2 cm;
  • Transformation mechanism;
  • Bolts, nuts, hinges, washers and self-tapping screws.

To connect and process parts, you will need putty and wood glue. You need to choose only those that are suitable for working with wood. In order to increase the service life and improve the aesthetic appearance of the product, it is recommended to arm yourself with impregnation and varnish. And to collect all the prepared parts in order to get a transforming table out of them, tools will help: nails, a hammer and a trowel.

Design and assembly of elements: step by step instructions

Design a magazine dinner table possible in computer program PRO100 or Sketch Up. They are easy to understand, so even a beginner can quickly figure them out. True, drawing up a project and drawings of the desired table is a time-consuming process, so you will have to wait 2 hours for the result.

The figure shows standard sizes transformer table parts

Having received the drawings, proceed to cutting materials. You can cut it in the same program, more precisely in the annex to it. After printing the nesting map, it's time to make cuts. Finished parts made of laminated fibreboard should preferably be assembled together, not fastened yet, to be sure of the correct sizing.

Now it's time to assemble the table frame using zip ties. wooden elements(confirmants). They are immersed in a tree with a screwdriver.

To make clear markings on dark chipboard parts, you can use ordinary stickers. A pencil is not suitable for this purpose - the lines drawn by it are barely noticeable, since the graphite glare and reflect. When using stickers, there is no glue left on the surface at all.

It's time to equip the structure with legs. They must be thick, because all the elements of the transformer table will put pressure on them. Together, their weight can be about 50 kg. It is better to play it safe and connect the legs to each other using ties.

Then you can screw the legs to the table. But first you need to accurately mark the fasteners and drill holes in them. The legs are usually mounted on metal bushings. The created holes will not be visible, as top part the legs are hidden in the frame.

Equipped with transformation mechanism and countertop

Having finished with the fastening of the legs, you can start mounting the mechanism that is important for the transformer table. First you need to equip the product with springs that separate the folded parts of the table, and then insert a special device into the frame.

This device for changing the shape of the table weighs about 10 kg, so it is better to fix it in the structure through a through way. There is nothing wrong with this, because it is correct. In addition, all gaps and fastenings made will not be visible from under the false legs.

It is necessary to apply markings for attaching the mechanism, using all the same stickers. And then you can drill holes into which later you will need to insert bolts. After creation through holes it is necessary to arm yourself with a fosner and prepare a place for immersing the bolt heads.

Now it's time to mount the mechanism with bolts. These parts will need a lot, because they securely connect the walls of the table so that they become self-supporting.

The coffee table transforms into a dining table when it gets taller and wider thanks to a special mechanism under the table top

The last task is the installation of the countertop. First of all, holes are made for fastening the elements, and then two parts of the table top are fixed in place - first a small one, and then a large one.

The tabletop must be assembled carefully, because in the event of an error it will unfold unevenly. And for the separation of the parts of the tabletop, the hinges are responsible, which must be not only working, but also durable so as not to come out of special nests.

After the work done, you need to try to expand the transformer table. If you have to make efforts to increase the area of the table, you will need to adjust the transformation mechanism. If the table unfolds perfectly, then you can varnish it.

Using this manufacturing technique, it will be possible to obtain a durable and original transforming coffee-dining table. Such a product will be useful to every housewife and will last for many years.

An elementary sense of common sense encourages you to assemble a transforming table with your own hands - in this case, the cost savings will be from 50 to 75%, depending on the model and materials. without significant loss of time extendable table may not work if this is your first furniture making experience. However, the time spent is compensated by the acquired skills, which allow further projects to be carried out much faster. After all, not one House master does not pick up an instrument once: in the living room, bedroom, hallway there is always a place for applying one's strength and creative imagination.

Folding table-book

In many families, a large dining table is far from necessary. all year round. However, its presence can help out in the event of the arrival of guests. sliding mechanism is the best suited for these purposes, equipped with a modest wooden table stands imperceptibly in the corner, performing secondary functions. But when his time comes, he becomes the center of the apartment.

It is proposed to make a frame furniture mechanism with lowering halves of the lid. From the materials you will need:

  • planed bars 20x50 mm;
  • plywood or thin 10 mm planks (for boxes);
  • furniture chipboard, chipboard or MDF (on the cover).

Fig.1. Drawings of a folding table-book: 1 - leading frame; 2 - swivel frame; 3- reclining plane; 4 - drawer; 5 - assembly of the side part of the main frame (option B); 6 - medium narrow chipboard-top option B

Fig.2. Table assembly scheme: 2 - elements of the rotary frame; 3- reclining plane; 4 - drawer; 5 - leading frame

The mechanism of collecting a table-book:

  1. The legs of the table are cut to the required length.
  2. Mark them up.
  3. According to the marking, grooves are hollowed out for the longitudinal drawers (transverse rails connecting the table legs).

Note! The grooves for the lower rails can be made at an arbitrary height, and when gouging the upper ones, the height of the drawer is taken into account.

  1. Saw off along the length of the longitudinal tsargi.
  2. Single spikes are cut down at their ends.
  3. Glue the side frames (2 pcs.), Having previously checked the accuracy of the assembly with a square.
  4. While the side frames are drying, make 2 supports for the side covers of the table. They are also frame construction (in Fig. 1 and 2 - No. 5).

Mounting the table-book

The length of the legs of the support corresponds to the height of the legs of the table. Other value vertical rack is equivalent to the distance between the outer edges of the longitudinal sides. And in order for the supporting support in the folded position not to look beyond the table, the width of the support should be equal to half the length of the sidewalls of the table.

Mechanism for assembling a table-book (continued):

  1. On the bars intended for support, it's time to make single through and deaf spike connections.
  2. The bars are connected with glue.
  3. In the dried sidewalls, they cut down and select recesses for attaching short transverse sides (No. 2 in the diagram).
  4. Sidewalls with these short sides are connected with glue and screws.
  5. Guide rails are attached to the inside of the upper longitudinal drawers for moving drawers (No. 4 in the diagram).
  6. Side walls drawers (cupboards) are made of plywood or thin 10 mm planks.
  7. The front wall of the cabinet should be made of a thicker plank.
  8. Quarters are cut along the edges of these boards for attaching the sidewalls of the box.
  9. All elements of the cabinets are fastened with glue and screws.
  10. The bottom of cabinets (drawers) is cut out of thin plywood or DVP.
  • Note! The design feature is that the front wall of the box goes inside the legs. This means that the front plane of the wall and the edges of the legs are flush. And in order to achieve this, clamps are attached to the guide rails and the upper longitudinal drawers, which do not allow the drawer to move further than necessary (No. 3 in the diagram).
  1. Table covers are cut from chipboard, chipboard or MDF. Begin work with marking and cutting out the middle cover.
  • Note! The edges of the middle cover above the table structure will protrude 20-25 mm. This will allow the supporting support to hide under the lowered cover half.
  1. The middle cover is fixed with four metal corners (No. 3 in the diagram), screwed with screws from the inside of the upper transverse sides.
  2. The side covers are attached to the middle one with a piano loop. It is screwed on from the bottom side.
  • Note! If you flip furniture design, dock all the covers and only after that proceed to twist the loops - it will be more convenient to work.

Was ordinary - became folding

To assemble a transforming table with your own hands, it is not necessary to start everything from the very beginning. It is possible to convert an existing wooden one-pedestal or two-pedestal table into a sliding furniture mechanism. Structural solution in both cases, it does not differ much - the tables are equipped with a retractable element.

Fig.3. The mechanism for converting a two-pedestal table into a sliding one is represented by the front panel of the top drawer (1); board resistant chipboard (2); loops (3); horizontal chipboard board (4); screws (5)

To modernize a two-pedestal table, as the drawings show, it is necessary to get rid of the upper drawer of the right cabinet. If, due to the layout of the living room, it is more convenient for you to part with the drawer of the left cabinet, implement the project in a mirror. This question is not fundamental, the selected drawer must be completely disassembled. Only his front side with a handle.

Another board is attached to this board with screws (5) at the end, the dimensions of which coincide with the dimensions of the box that was here earlier. Loops (3) are screwed from below, on which the thrust board (2) is fixed.

Board #2, when folded, should be in close contact with board #4, so that entry into the space freed from the box is problem-free. When extended, board number 4 will play the role additional table, and board number 2 will serve as a support for him. To avoid distortions, this plane should be tilted completely by 90 °.

Differences in retrofitting a single-pedestal table

A table with one pedestal, after modernization, will increase its area much more than a two-pedestal table. In addition, its exploded geometry will be different from the layout of a two-pedestal structure.

Fig.4. The mechanism for converting a single-pedestal table into a sliding table is represented by a horizontal cutout (1); table drawers (2); retractable board (3); hard board (4); wheels of the thrust board (5); squares (6); side wall of the table (7); additional rails (item 8)

As in the first case, you have to remove drawers. But this time it will not be cabinets located in the cabinet, but drawers located at the top of the table itself. Both boxes should be removed, and a horizontal cutout should be made on the left side of the box (1). The width of the opening should be equal to the thickness of the selected sliding board (3), which in the near future will become the plane of the elongated table.

The smooth sliding mechanism of the retractable board in the formed inner niche of the table will be given additional slats (8) installed in the direction of its movement. To prevent the board from falling out of its end, which is part of the furniture, 2 stoppers should be made. From the side of the second end to the retractable board at an angle of 90 °, a thrust board (4) on wheels (5) is fixed with squares (6). Board No. 4 is rigidly attached to Board No. 3, and in assembled fits snugly against the side wall of the table (7). In the place where the drawers (2) were previously located, a decorative plate is installed, after which the sliding furniture mechanism can be considered ready for use.

It is understood that the dimensions of your table may differ from what our drawings show. However, the measurements of all elements and the mechanism for re-equipping the table, presented in fig. 3 and 4 can be taken as a basis for the conversion.

Two-tier table

The proposed wooden table can be used as a coffee table all year round. However, it easily and elegantly, if necessary, turns into a living room decoration - a large dining table. Drawings of this product in different sources may differ slightly, we offer optimal dimensions. Judge for yourself, when folded - it's beautiful Coffee table ik, it reaches a height of 752 mm. But by lifting the top of the structure until the supporting pedestals are disconnected, turning the cover by 90 ° and sliding the pedestal (3) into the pedestal (6), we get a high dining table.

Fig.5. Coffee and dining table for the living room. Consists of a tabletop (1); base plate (2); cabinets (3) attached to table top 1; support rail (4) of pedestal 3; stiffening bar (5); pedestal (6) attached to base plate 2; support rail (7) pedestals 6

The design of the coffee-dining table is panel, all elements are attached to dowels and glue. The manufacture of this item for the interior of the living room will require accurate measurements, it is especially important to withstand the dimensions of the cabinets. In addition, attention should be paid to the strength of the connection of the rails (7) on which the pedestal (3) rests.

I have long wanted to make my own hands at the same time a coffee and dining table-transformer. The idea of creating such furniture is that the assembled table can turn into a full-fledged kitchen or dining table in an instant. I decided to make a transforming coffee table with my own hands from wood. As a project, using my experience in drawing, I drew a scheme for assembling furniture. Before starting work, he prepared the appropriate tool and purchased the necessary materials.

Instruments

Before making furniture, I prepared the following tools in my workshop:

  • jigsaw;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • grinder;
  • brushes;
  • tie-down straps;
  • tape measure and ruler;
  • pencil.

materials

All the right materials Bought at a hardware store. I had some in stock. The list of all materials turned out like this:

  • edged pine board 4100 x 400 x 25 mm;
  • screws 20 mm - 40 pcs.;
  • screws 50 mm, 70 mm - 10 pcs.;
  • metal corners 40 x 40 mm - 4 pcs.;
  • stain 0.5 l.;
  • furniture varnish PF 170 - 0.5 l.;
  • joiner's glue "Joiner" - 125 g;
  • wooden dowels 30 mm - 24 pcs.;
  • round self-adhesives - 8 pcs.;
  • piano loop 400 mm - 4 pcs.

Step-by-step instructions on how to assemble a coffee table - transformer

  1. A board 400 x 25 mm, 4100 mm long, was sawn with an electric jigsaw into segments:
  • tabletop and sidewalls 800 x 400 mm - 4 pcs.;
  • legs 900 x 50 mm - 4 pcs.;
  • 2 crossbeams 700 x 50 mm and 650 x 50 mm;
  • triangular struts with sides 5, 10 and 11 cm - 4 pcs.
  1. The entire surface of the wood was cleaned with an emery wheel using a grinder.
  2. Boards covered with stain.
  3. Then covered the wood furniture varnish in two layers.
  4. The ends of the tabletop and the adjacent ends of the other two boards were cut with an electric jigsaw at an angle of 45 0.
  5. At the ends on one side of two boards 80 x 40 cm drilled with a drill mounting holes under wooden dowels.
  6. Lubricated with wood glue, dowels and ends of adjacent sides of two boards, connected them into one tabletop.
  7. I pulled the tabletop with straps and left it alone for a day.
  8. A day later, I removed the tie-down straps from the countertop.
  9. I installed a folding mechanism in the form of piano hinges, connecting the side boards with the tabletop with them.
  10. I attached legs to the sidewalls of the table with steel corners, the ends of which I cut with a jigsaw at an angle. Fastening was done with screws using a screwdriver.
  11. I installed the struts, connecting the tabletop and legs with them. To do this, I made holes in the adjacent sides of the parts. I inserted dowels into them, smeared with carpentry glue.
  12. The legs on each side were connected by crossbars. I fixed the crossbars with screws using a screwdriver in such a way that when folding the table they do not interfere with each other.
  13. The screw sockets in the legs, where the crossbars are fixed, were closed with self-adhesives.
  14. On the ends of the sidewalls, which, when the table is folded, become supports, I pasted pieces of felt. This will prevent abrasion of the surface of the supporting part of the sidewalls.
  15. On the supporting surfaces of the legs, I also glued pennies made of felt. The table will not scratch the floor with its legs, and it can be easily moved on any floor covering.
  16. He opened the small table and set it on its legs. It turned out to be a comfortable dining table, which I put in the living room.

After I assembled the transforming table with my own hands, I summed up how much money I spent and how long it took to assemble the furniture.

Cost of materials

  • edged pine board 0.04 m 3 x 4200 rubles. = 170 rubles;
  • screws 2 cm - 40 pcs. in stock;
  • screws 50 mm, 70 mm - 10 pcs. in stock;
  • metal corners 4 x 4 cm - 4 pcs. x 2.5 rubles. = 10 rubles;
  • stain 0.5 l. = 100 rubles;
  • furniture varnish PF 170 - 0.5 l. = 50 rubles;
  • joiner's glue "Joiner" - 125 g = 70 rubles;
  • wooden dowels 30 mm - 24 pcs. in stock;
  • round stickers - 8 pcs. in stock;
  • piano loop - 400 mm - 4 pcs. = 4 x 44 rubles. = 176 rubles.

Total: 576 rubles.

Labor costs

The time spent on assembling the transformer table was reflected in tabular form.

This is pure time spent only on individual operations. If we take into account technological breaks and rest, then I assembled a table in 2 days.

A table of this design, when assembled, can serve as a convenient plane on which newspapers and magazines will be placed. The table is suitable for serving breakfast or dinner. When folded, the design takes up a minimum usable area. If necessary, the transformer can be "turned" into a fairly spacious dining table.

Folding furniture is attractive for use in the country, in summer pavilions and at outdoor picnics. The table fits easily in the trunk of a car.

One of greatest inventions in home improvement there is a folding table. Lightweight and compact, it is perfect as a picnic table, camping table. This is great idea for a gift to friends or neighbors. It is easier to buy such a transformer table in the store to save time and effort. But, by making it with your own hands, you can not only save money, but also develop its design as you wish.

Possible various options: wooden, plastic, aluminum tables-transformers.

With just three simple materials, every do-it-yourselfer can make his own folding furniture in the form or shape that he likes.

After spending time productively and visiting local lumber and tool stores, you can select and purchase finished materials. In addition, you can just walk around in the yard own house, perhaps there, too, will be able to find something that can be used: all kinds of remnants of wood or nails left after last year's repairs or something else. All this can be used in a new project.

Materials and tools

For one small portable wooden table would need:

  1. Approximately 1-1/2 inch wooden plank for table top. You can also use a thicker board or plywood sheet. It all depends on the expected load on the table for which it is intended. It can be any wood: pine, cedar, oak and the like, the main thing is that it must lie long enough to dry. You can also use plastic as a countertop.
  2. A thin piece of plywood for the rim of the tabletop, or any other material that matches the look and finish of the tabletop.
  3. Bar 20 * 45 for the manufacture of table legs. You can also use a metal tube or corner as legs.
  4. Wooden parts for load-bearing rails according to the selected table dimensions.
  5. Electric drill and a set of drills.
  6. Screwdrivers, wrenches (including socket).
  7. Saw (manual or electric).
  8. Brass hinges (long, garage type).
  9. A set of screws, nails and other fasteners that may be needed. At the same time, it is imperative to take into account the conditions under which the table will be used: galvanized metal products should be used for outdoor use.
  10. For finishing: sandpaper, paint or varnish, stain, brushes.
  11. Drawing preparation.

First you need to "sketch" a drawing of the proposed table in order to determine its design in advance and correctly calculate the dimensions. There will be few details for such a table:

  • countertop (one, two or three parts);
  • frame with stiffeners;
  • legs.

It will be easier to keep the scale and change the dimensions, if necessary, if you make such drawings on graph paper. You can download a copy of the sketch of the table model you like from the Internet. But since, despite all the efforts made by the authors of homemade sites, there is a possibility of errors in the dimensions of the drawing, it is worth making sure they are correct by checking the calculated values.

Table making

So, having prepared and decided on the design and dimensions, it's time to start measuring and cutting. In other words, to make blanks of parts in order to make them out of them.

It is very important to make sure that the parts are made exactly with the selected dimensions. The ends of the table legs, which will serve as a support, should be cut at an angle so that the table is stable.

If the table is supposed to be made in such a way that it can accommodate a large number of people, you can also make folding and its table top.

One of the options for such a countertop (and the simplest) is done like this. Marking exactly the middle inside countertops, cut it in half. Both halves must be exactly the same in order to fit perfectly when the countertop is folded. On both halves of the tabletop, it is necessary to place support rails for the legs in such a way that there is a canopy of at least 5 cm from each edge, the fastening of the halves of the tabletop to each other is done with loops. Edge cut all saw cuts.

Make holes for a support rod through each pair of legs to connect them. Attach loops to the top of both pairs of legs. They must be exactly parallel in order for the table to fold properly.

There comes a time final assembly all the details. To do this, along with metal fasteners, special glue should be used so that the fastening is flawless and the table lasts longer.

Certainly, real master will not be able to limit itself to this version of the transformer table.

After mastering the dynamics of its creation, the design possibilities are truly limitless, as are the applications for transforming furniture. Well and appearance you can plan the table yourself or peep the idea on the Internet.

I have long dreamed of a transforming table, in our Khrushchev houses it cannot be otherwise. All rooms are always filled with furniture and all sorts of things. I wanted to somehow reduce the amount of furniture, but not lose functionality. I have long found the answer to this question in transformer furniture, but it is expensive to buy, but I did not dare to do it myself.

There was a period when I collected all the materials and was already planning to make a table, but faced with the very first problem - to make or buy a transformation mechanism - I immediately abandoned the idea. And he suddenly returned to the idea of assembling a transformer table with his own hands - there was a repair in the living room, it was assumed that after the repair a 350-liter aquarium would move into the room, and it was clear that there could no longer be a full-fledged table in this room. An old dream of a transformer table surfaced in my head and everything started spinning.

Description of the master class

  1. The choice of the table transformation mechanism.

    Picked up a suitable mechanism for transforming the table. At first I chose how the table would be laid out, I really liked the Acrobat mechanism, but it is not supplied to Russia. Well, the only alternative available on the market was the mechanism of the following principle:

    This mechanism is produced both in Russia, and there are analogues from Europe and China. Supported Russian manufacturer! The mechanism comes with springs or with a gas lift, which are needed to help unfold / fold the table - for a softer move. Without a doubt, I chose the option with a spring, because. how simpler design, the more reliable it is. In addition, the spring is hidden in the body of the mechanism and is not visible when the table is unfolded, unlike the gas lift, which is too noticeable.

  2. Transformer table design.

    I made a layout of the future table in the PRO100 program. I used this program for the first time in my life, figured it out in 1 evening. The layout was made somewhere in 2 pm. For the standard I took a picture from the Internet of a similar table, I calculated the dimensions myself. It turned out to be nothing complicated. Many recommendations were sent in pursuit of the purchase of the mechanism, I was guided by them when calculating the dimensions.

  3. Sawing and edging laminated chipboard.

    Ordered cutting chipboard. In fact, there is an application for the PRO100 program that makes a cutting chart, but since I was too lazy to look for and understand - then I made a cutting map manually and quite quickly.

    There are other third-party elements on my map as well. I ordered another cabinet with the table. These extra elements are marked on the map with an X. Chipboard color chose wenge, thickness according to the recommendation of the manufacturer of the transformation mechanism 22mm. At least this thickness should be a countertop. The mechanism is designed for such a load, the table body itself can be made from 16 chipboard. But order 2 sheets different thickness with large quantity not everyone will have scraps) I ordered edging immediately with a cut, a tabletop PVC edge 2mm, the rest is a melamine standard edge.

  4. Initial fitting of details.

    Brought sawn and framed chipboard. I bought all the necessary hardware for assembly. I tried to fold the elements to exhale and make sure that I was not mistaken with the sizes. Everything turned out, I did not lose with the sizes.

  5. Table frame assembly.

    We assemble the table frame for confirmations using special drill. We make markings on dark-colored laminated chipboard using stickers. This thought came suddenly, after I tried to mark on a dark laminated chipboard with a pencil: nothing is visible and the pencil is reflected and glare. The sticker solved the situation - the marking is accurate and there are no traces of glue on the laminated chipboard. In addition, the solution is quite cheap.

    Well, the assembly of the table frame for confirmations:

    We will fasten the mechanism through the method, because. the weight of the mechanism is impressive - 8kg. everyone. You should not be afraid. we have everything calculated and the overhead legs will hide all the technical holes and fasteners. We make markings for fastening the mechanism in the same way

    We drill through holes for the bolts and then with a Fosner drill we prepare a place for the bolt heads to drown them.

    Well, we bolt the mechanism. You should not be afraid of the number of bolts, they are all necessary, they fasten the walls of the table together even more firmly and make them self-supporting.

  6. Assembling the legs of the transformer table.

    Assemble the table legs. The legs must be very strong in order to support the weight of the table (which is approximately 45 kg) and the weight of the dishes on it. Therefore, it was decided to fasten the legs together with ties.

    We screw the legs to the table. To do this, you need to very accurately mark the leg mounts. In order not to be wise, I drilled in place. We will install on such metal bushings

    For them, we drill holes in the legs as planned.

    Here in this position all the legs were screwed. The legs hide all the technical holes in the table frame.

  7. Tabletop assembly.

    The table top must be assembled with extreme precision, because the table top hinge must be strong and ensure that the table top unfolds / folds evenly. When I bought, I doubted the hinges and for good reason. In principle, they work, but it is difficult to keep the hinge in the sockets, and the screws that are supposed to provide this cannot cope. Therefore, I advise you to look at other hinges for the countertop. Hole markings in countertops:

    Assembled countertops
