Cambia archidea. An unpretentious hybrid of the Cumbria orchid. The plant does not flower. What to do

Few people can not express admiration when they see how the Cumbria orchid blooms. The unusual color and shape of the petals were obtained by crossing varieties of Oncidium , Miltonia, Brassia. There are a lot of varieties of Cumbria, they can only be distinguished by the star-shaped flowers and the presence of pseudobulbs. Hybrid origin provides plant resistance to diseases and unpretentiousness.

Description of the species

The flower is classified as a sympodial orchid. They have oblong large pseudobulbs up to 8 cm long, on which there are several long and narrow leaves. The color of the leaves is dark green, the length can reach 0.5 m, an inner vein is distinguishable inside the central part. During the flowering period, 1-2 peduncles with buds appear from each pseudobulb, which are removed along with the bulbs at the end of flowering. After that, the flower forms new pseudobulbs.

You need to purchase a plant with 3 or more pseudobulbs, such flowers will grow and bloom well. If a cumbria orchid has only 1 bulb, then it will die after flowering.

The diameter of the flowers is 2-10 cm, the most common are red varieties with white or yellowish spots. However, there are also varieties with yellow, purple, burgundy petals.

Plant Growing Basics

The rules for caring for a Cumbria orchid at home are simple, but you need to know them in order to create favorable environment for the development and flowering of the plant.

The roots of the Cambria orchid are thin and easily damaged. They can be located both inside the pot and above the surface of the substrate. Plant growth upward stimulates the formation of new pseudobulbs. Until the old pseudobulbs die off, the flower is not transplanted.

Choosing the location of the pot and the intensity of lighting

The plant belongs to the photophilous, but the sun's rays should be diffused. Direct exposure to the sun leads to burns of thin and soft leaves. In summer, the plant is placed on the eastern, northeastern or western windowsill. If the windows face south, then it is necessary to create a slight blackout with a mesh, tulle.

In winter, the flower may be dormant or flowering. Sleeping plants do not require, and flowering plants are recommended to create a daylight hours of at least 12 hours. The intensity of the orchid bloom will depend on the intensity of the lighting.

Temperature and humidity level

Cambria is a flower insensitive to indoor temperature. The most favorable temperature for it is 18-25 ̊С.

Unlike other orchids, this hybrid does not require day and night temperature differences. The flower does not need to be taken out to the balcony or to another cool room to activate flowering.

During the formation of flower stalks, it is better to provide the plant with increased humidity in the room. To do this, you can put a container with water near the pot or spray the leaves with a fine spray. During flowering or dormancy, an increase in humidity is not required, sufficient level considered 25-30%.

Watering mode

When caring for orchids, Cumbria at home is very important. proper watering plants. Only soft water can be used; to soften it, it is passed through a filter, settled, boiled and cooled. If you water the flower from above, then moisture quickly seeps through the bark without wetting it. So in the best possible way moisten the substrate is submersible watering.

Warm soft water is poured into a small basin or a wide bucket and a pot of Cumbria orchid is placed on the bottom. The water level should be no higher than the rim of the pot so that the pseudobulbs do not get wet. If water gets on them, rapid decay is possible.

Soak the pot in water for 5-20 minutes. flowering plants require more watering, at rest it is recommended to moisten only a little. After the flower pot is removed from the water, you need to let it stand at the bottom of the bath so that all excess moisture flowed out. Otherwise, the tender roots will rot. It is recommended to repeat immersions after complete drying of the substrate. In wet rooms this happens in 10-14 days, during the period heating season in 5-7 days.

Choice of substrate and pot

The soil for Cumbria should be very light. The standard combination of peat, earth, sand is not used. The basis of the substrate is pine bark, to which chopped dry moss and coal are added. As a drainage, pieces of polystyrene are placed on the bottom of the pot, it does not absorb water, it will ensure dryness of the roots.

If the air in the room is too dry, then the substrate is enriched with perlite granules. It helps to retain moisture at the roots. Coconut, foam chips will help increase breathability at the roots.

The substrate can be made independently or purchased ready-mixed in a flower shop. A pot is chosen of a small volume so that the roots completely fill it inside, and there is still a little free space. Unlike other orchids, root system Cumbria do not like sunlight, so a ceramic or plastic container would be optimal. For large plants it is better to choose a stable heavy pot.

Reproduction and transplantation of Cumbria

The flower does not tolerate transplants, so they should be done only if necessary:

  • a large number of pseudobulbs are above the surface of the pot,
  • rotting of part of the root system is observed,
  • the soil is saline from frequent fertilizers.

new pot choose with a diameter of 1-2 cm more than the previous one. The plant should be at rest, all flower stalks, old yellowed pseudobulbs should be removed. The normal frequency of Cumbria transplantation is considered 1 time in 2-3 years.

During transplantation, it is possible to separate mature plant into several individual flowers. To do this, pseudobulbs with roots are carefully separated, trying to damage them as little as possible. It is better if both old and young bulbs remain in each plant. The old will provide food, the young - flowering.

Places of fracture should be sprinkled with crushed coal. Separated plants are fixed to a support stick and begin to be watered only after a week.

When and how to fertilize the plant

Top dressing is an important process when caring for cambria at home, photo the best fertilizer presented below.

For nutrition use complex mineral fertilizers. When purchasing a new remedy, you need to gradually increase the dose so that the plant gets used to it.

It is necessary to apply fertilizer to the substrate during the period of growth and flowering: from February to October. The product is added to the water when bathing or the leaves are sprayed with a solution through a fine spray. It is not necessary to apply an excessive amount of fertilizer, the flower will not grow or bloom better.

Bloom

Peduncles appear from formed pseudobulbs at any time of the year. If the arrow appeared in winter, then the plant is recommended to be highlighted so that the small buds do not fall off. Cumbria, the photo of which is presented below, has one peduncle.

If the orchid does not bloom for more than 12 months, then this signals excessive watering and feeding.

When a new pseudobulb appears, it is necessary to reduce the frequency of watering, as a result it will wrinkle. Watering is reduced for 2-4 weeks, after which the plant should have a peduncle. Once this happens, normal watering returns.

Possible diseases and pests

Like all houseplants, the orchid can get fungal or bacterial infections. In the presence of fungi, small spots appear on the surface of the sheets, but this does not affect growth or flowering. A diseased plant is treated with a fungicide solution.

Others possible problems cultivation are:

  1. Dark spots on leaves. The reason is waterlogged substrate. It is necessary to reduce the amount of watering.
  2. The pseudobulbs shriveled and the leaves turned yellow. The reason is the appearance of snails in a pot. An ambulance transplant is required with the replacement of the substrate.
  3. The appearance of yellow areas on the leaves. They are caused by too much direct sunlight. It is recommended to rearrange or darken the pot.

Also dangerous for the plant spider mite, whitefly, orchid aphid, scale insect, thrips. To remove them, special ready-made preparations are used.

You can easily grow a flower if you follow all the recommendations for home care, a photo of home Cumbria is presented below.

Types of orchids Cumbria

There are many varieties of hybrid orchids of this species. We will present the most beautiful in the photo.

Cambria phalaenopsis

On the training video you can see the basics of caring for cumbria at home. (see others)

Cumbria is a domestic beauty, an artificially bred variety of orchids. It is used only for reproduction at home.

Species and varieties

- consists of many bright flowers. Each flower has a large lower petal with cherry small dots and two times smaller (in width) upper petals with crimson spots. A bright yellow center appears from the center, similar in shape to the tongue.

- narrow petals look like raspberry stars without shine, with a cream contour. The leaves are long, narrow with a slight kink and quite flexible.

("Bartley Schwarz") - top part the flower has bright red tints while the lower large petal has snow-white surface.

- the snow-white edges of the petals are replaced by cherry spots towards the core, from which one can see a round yellow spot. Only the lower petal has a rounded shape and a wide plate, while the rest are narrow, elongated petals with a pointed end.

- has a crimson spotting on the surface of the petals. The lower, larger petal is covered with spots only up to the middle, and then there is a scattering of dots of the same color. A yellow core can be seen from the center of the flower, more like a square in shape.

- flower petals are scarlet, only the lower one has red stains up to the middle of the length, and then it is filled with dots. Yellow stripes come out of the core.

Along with cumbria, there are also other hybrid types of orchids: burrageara , beallar , kolmanara , calantha and others, which were previously considered quite rare specimens, and now have become very popular for home growing and are a wonderful decoration for any window.

Cambria home care

Unlike other orchids, cumbria does not need temperature changes in the morning and evening, and also depending on the season. The optimum temperature is considered to be in the range of 18-24 ° C, and this is known to be standard room temperature.

Cambria requires bright lighting, but at the same time, direct sunlight is unacceptable, which will not only lead to wilting of the flowers, but also to burns on the leaves and premature drying of the roots. Considering that in winter the number daylight hours much less, however, like the quality (cloudy days), then you need to organize additional source light (lamps).

It is necessary to protect the flower from drafts, but Fresh air should still come in.

Cumbria watering

Watering should be carried out no more than once a week, while not flooding the flower too much, otherwise the delicate roots will quickly rot. It is also fraught with drying out of the soil.

It is best to supply water not from above, but from below, by dipping the orchid pot in a bowl so that the water fills 3/4 of the pot. We stand in this position for 10-15 minutes, then pull it out and let the water drain freely. excess water must be drained from the tray.

In order to determine when to water your precious orchid, there is a simple way: with a simple wooden stick (thin), gently pierce the soil in the pot to the very bottom, then pull it out, and if the stick is wet only 1/4 of the height earthy coma. The main thing is not to damage the roots, move the stick slowly and closer to the wall. Water should be soft, purified or boiled.

soil for cumbria

The substrate is selected large with a slow degree of decomposition. For a particular variety of orchid, the use of a large amount of bark is fraught, since when it decomposes, oxidation occurs, which harms the plant itself.

Useful components in the composition of the orchid mixture will be peat (or penza), moss and coal - to improve the aeration of the root system. Sold in flower shops ready mixes for cambria. Of course, let's not forget about good layer drainage at the bottom of the pot. Fertilizers are applied in spring and summer.

Cumbria transplant

Transplantation is not recommended, only in exceptional cases. The plant does not like to be disturbed once again. A transplant can be carried out, for example, if the Cumbria has become crowded in a pot and its roots have begun to crawl out of it.

In this case, the growth of the plant may stop, which is better not to allow, so transplantation is allowed. An important condition, is that after transplantation, the first watering is carried out no earlier than a week later.

Pot for cumbria

The pot should be well ventilated, but not transparent, so you can give preference to ceramic.

The size of the container for planting is chosen not large, approximately the size of the roots, they should completely fill the container, and have only a little freedom.

cumbria orchid reproduction

Buying this species orchids pay attention to what the pledge normal growth and lush flowering is the presence of at least three bulbs.

Cambria is propagated by dividing the rhizome, so that each division has at least three pseudo bulbs, if less, then most likely the plant will not take root. Treat the cuts with charcoal.

Each copy is placed in a separate pot with a substrate. Please note that at first, before rooting, the flower needs support, so you can place 1-2 wooden or plastic sticks around it and fix the orchid. As with transplanting, and during reproduction, the first watering is carried out only after 5-7 days.

Diseases and pests

Frequent causal appearance dark spots on the leaves may be over-wetting. It is necessary to try to reduce the frequency (interval) of watering, perhaps the roots do not have time to dry out properly and as a result, they begin to rot.

If the edges of the leaves begin to turn yellow , then the plant receives too much sunlight. Thus, it is depleted, loses its vital juices, begins to turn yellow and dry out.

Cambria can be affected by bacterial and fungal infections. In addition, it is possible that such pests can settle on orchid leaves: red spider mite, weevil, whitefly, aphids, scale insects, thrips .

What is Cambria Cumbria is the trade name for a hybrid orchid that uses three or more parents different kinds oncidium group, hence such diversity. Of course, each specific cumbria also has its own name: vuilstekeara, colmanara, beallar, burrageara, but they all have the same requirements for keeping conditions. All Cumbrians are orchids of a sympodial type of growth with round, oval or elongated ovoid pseudobulbs with narrow, long leaves. The parents of each of the Cumbria gave the flowers their own characteristics: odontoglossum - large size, oncidium - a large number of flowers and yellow, miltonia and brassia - smell and original form. Conditions for keeping Cumbria With all the variety of Cumbria, you need to care for them the same way. Plants prefer a location with good air circulation, in summer they grow best outdoors, where they can endure night temperature drops to +5 ° C. In an apartment, Cumbria are placed on shaded eastern and western windows Plants do not tolerate direct sunlight. During growth, watering is carried out every 3-5 days, the rest of the time it can be watered every 5-8 days, between waterings the substrate should dry out, but not completely. For transplantation, a mixture of bark of the middle fraction and charcoal. Vuylstekeara, Vuylstekeara A complex hybrid of cochlioda, miltonia and odontoglossum (Cochlioda x Miltonia x Odontoglossum). The native botanical name of the hybrid, Vuylstekeara, which has existed since 1911 and is derived from the name of its creator, the Belgian C. Vuylsteke, is considered too difficult to remember and commercially use. Vuilstekears - graceful plants with a long vertical peduncle bearing from 5 to 20 flowers of red, yellow, color pink. It usually blooms from late winter to early summer, flowering is long, up to two months. The most popular Vuylstekeara Cambria "Plush" FCC/AOS is an orchid with beautiful flower medium size. Now on sale you can find a huge variety of vuilstekeara: Vuylstekeara Cindy "Pinky Lee" HCC / AOS - a pink-red spotted flower with a lighter lip (with a transition from pink to pure white at the end of the lip; Vuylstekeara Linda Isler "Red" - a flower of bright red, plain, red lip with a sharp contrasting transition to white at the end; Vuylstekeara Melissa Brianne "Kai" s Choice "Vuylstekeara Yokara Perfection. Vuylstekeara does not like when the roots dry out, so it is best to plant plants in pots with sphagnum or finely based substrate crushed pine bark.For these orchids cool conditions with abundant watering throughout the year and partial shade.

They have always been and will remain the favorites of flower growers. lovely plants with a wonderful long flowering always decorate the house and delight the eye. Now we will consider the features and rules of the Cumbria variety. You will surely like this extraordinary flower.

Description

"Cambria" is a hybrid flower, bred by crossing three types of orchids, namely:

  • (lat. Miltonia), or pansies;
  • Brassia (Brassia) "spider orchid";
  • Oncidium (Oncidium).

Did you know? "Cambria" is also called "asterisk" because of the extraordinary resemblance of a flower to a star.

"Cambria" has a wide palette of colors; Many mistakenly think that they are all different. The external characteristic of "Cumbria" is as follows:

  • rounded pseudobulbs ( nutrients, which come to the rescue during extreme periods of plant growth);
  • narrow and oblong leaves;
  • shoot type of growth;
  • "Cambria" refers to sympodial orchids (this is when one of the two lateral axes of the plant is formed so quickly that it acquires the direction of the main one, as a result of which the other is displaced or dies off);
  • pseudobulbs are oblong, well formed and reach a length of 8 cm;
  • on pseudobulbs there are 2-3 dark green leaves with a vein in the middle, they are about 50 cm long;
  • flowers come in a variety of colors interspersed with a diameter of 50 mm to 10 cm.

Growing Features

It is desirable to grow Cumbria on the eastern, northeastern or western window sills. If the windows face south and southwest, then the orchid (in summer) should be shaded with gauze or other thin fabric. The leaves of the flower are very sensitive: if rain is applied, spots may remain on them. Also, irreparable damage to the leaves causes direct exposure to the rays of the sun.

Did you know? Despite the enormous variety - about 35 thousand species of this plant are known - all their flowers, differing in shape and color, are arranged in the same way. Each flower has three sepals and three petals, one of which is noticeably larger and brighter than the other two.

reproduction

A favorable period for Cumbria is the beginning of spring (March - early April). At this time, she is preparing to leave the biological dormancy. Orchid should be propagated after it has faded. Traditionally, Cumbria is propagated by dividing the bush.

The process of dividing the bush:

  • pre-soak the root system of the flower in water (to avoid damage to fragile roots by bark or other constituents of the soil);
  • disinfect the tools (with fire or alcohol) that you will be using;
  • remove rotten areas;
  • carefully divide the bush into 2-3 parts, try not to damage the roots;
  • treat places of cut leaves and other damage with powder;
  • get rid of the root old earth and dry it;
  • transplant the plant into a new one.

Care

The rules for caring for Cumbria are simple and not demanding, since this hybrid was created with the expectation of being kept in an ordinary apartment.

Conditions

Ideal temperature regime for ranges from 15°C to 25°C. It suits both daytime and nighttime temperatures. If you want your orchid to develop quickly - provide it with a cool temperature for living (15-20 ° C). Lighting for an orchid must be chosen with good light permeability, so flowering will be much better, and the flowers themselves will be larger. At the same time, Cumbria must be protected from direct sunlight - they burn fragile leaves and they, over time, begin (in this case, the flower must be moved to another place).

Important! AT winter period, the orchid most of all needs good light transmission, so it needs to be moved to the most lit place. If necessary, you can use phytolamps.

Humidity during the period of biological dormancy is almost not needed. practically do not water, because at this time flower buds are laid and growth ripens, and then flowering occurs. In winter, you need to take into account the proximity of the flower to sources of heating (batteries or fan heaters). If the plant is near heat sources, place a bowl / glass of water near it or spray the air around it daily, trying not to get on the leaves.

The soil for orchids should include whole pieces of bark (2-3 cm in size). If the bark is crumbled and looks more like a lump of earth, throw it away, such a substrate does not allow air to pass through and retains water. In this case, the roots of the "asterisk" will begin to rot and harm the plant. Sometimes foam is added to the bark, which helps to quickly dry out from excess water. Fern roots can also be applied to the soil.

The ideal substrate should:

  • retain moisture for the roots;
  • do not form souring (moisture should not linger for a long time in the container);
  • breathable (not too tight).
Such a substrate for the care of "Cambria" can be purchased at almost every flower shop. If necessary, you can do it yourself at home.

Watering

The root system of an orchid is very fragile. To protect it from decay by watering in hot weather are carried out once a week, and in rainy or cold weather - once every two weeks. With daily watering, the plant will disappear from the abundance of water and decay. Water for irrigation should be boiled or filtered, "Cambria" is extremely susceptible to water quality. You can also put the pot in water for up to half an hour and then do not water the flower until it is completely dry.

Important! "Cambria" is easier to endure drought than stagnant water.

top dressing

During growth, the orchid is fertilized with special dressings. This lasts until the flowering period, after which any recharge stops. Be careful to use half the dosage indicated on the package so as not to burn the delicate roots of Cumbria.

Transfer

The flower does not tolerate frequent; if necessary, it is propagated once every two years (when the roots will not fit in, and their growth will slow down significantly). The best moment for transplantation is considered the period when the roots have not yet appeared on the bulb.

Step-by-step transplantation of Cumbria:

  • remove the flower from the pot;
  • clean it of moss and bark (if there are suppurations, they must also be removed);
  • put the bark and polystyrene on the bottom of the pot (so that the roots are not in the water when watering);
  • install the plant at an angle of 90 °;
  • we fall asleep with new bark, pieces of coal and moss;
  • do not water for a week (so that the resulting wounds heal).

There are flowers that will bloom well in difficult environments - whether indoors or outdoors. Knowing which group the plant belongs to, it is correct to provide proper care. The basic principles of cultivation consist of providing air humidity, the timing of moisture entry into the soil, and controlling a favorable temperature. The presence of the sun is one of the most important factors. All indoor bloomers are divided into species. Some can be cultivated exclusively in open space. Some flowers can only be grown at home outside of an unfavorable environment.

General information about Cumbria - hybrids of the oncidium group

Cambria, or, as it is usually written on a plant sticker, Cambria, is the common name for one group of orchids, united by one feature. As it seems, these are completely different orchids, and this oddity baffles many lovers. But all Cumbria are artificially obtained hybrids of the oncidium section, bred for decorative use at home.

The most common orchid hybrids among Cumbrians are various plants obtained from crossing numerous species of oncidiums, cochliods, brassias, miltonia, odontoglossums. These hybrids can be called Cumbria, but sometimes they are found under narrower names - Kolmanars, Beallars, Wilsonars, etc. All of them are united by the ability to bloom several times a year with multiple flowers on long erect peduncles.

Cambria is an easy-to-care and grateful plant that is ready to delight its owner with flowering more than once a year, regardless of the season. If you are just going to start acquaintance with orchids, then these plants, along with phalaenopsis, - perfect option for beginners.

Biological features Cumbria

Cumbria in the forum

Orchid asterisk or Cambria (Cambria)

Cambria is a hybrid bred from three different varieties Miltonia orchids. Brassia and Oncidium. The variety of cumbria flowers is so great that at first glance it is quite difficult to identify it. The only bright distinguishing feature this orchid is a shoot type of growth. All hybrids have rounded pseudobulbs. The leaves are narrow and long. The second sign can be called flowers in the shape of a star. But you can't rely on him. Seeing the variety of cambria hybrids, it is hard to believe that all these colors require the same conditions. But believe me, it really is. Moreover, it is very easy to grow cumbria at home.

Cumbria content temperature

Cumbria thrive in a fairly wide range of temperatures. From 15 to 25 degrees of heat. That is, at home, there will be no problems with this. She does not need a night temperature drop at all. In the heat of the cumbria can "fall asleep", but even here you do not have to fight it. When the favorable temperature regime resumes, everything will return to normal.

Lighting

Cambria are considered moderately photophilous orchids. In order for your cumbria to bloom, you will need to keep it in a south or west window. But to direct sunbeams she is intolerant. The plant can easily get burned. This is especially true for cambria with thin, fragile leaves.

Watering Cumbria

This type of orchid is extremely susceptible to water quality. Never water your cambria with dirty or hard water. For these purposes, lagging behind the water in advance. There is only one method of watering cambria - immersion in water. Place the pot of cumbria in a basin with clean water 20 minutes. During this time, the substrate should be thoroughly wet. Avoid getting water on the pseudobulbs. Cambria can rot.

Cambria refers to those types of orchids that are better to dry than to "drown". Make sure the substrate is completely dry before watering. The roots of this plant are very fragile and thin. Decay occurs very quickly. With just one mistimed watering, you can kill a cumbria.

Humidity parameters

AT summer time at optimal temperatures take care of high humidity for your cumbria you don't have to. Room humidity is remarkably perceived by her. AT winter time it is better to increase the humidity. Especially if your cumbria is in close proximity to the batteries.

How to transplant Cumbria

Don't repot cumbria often. Like all orchids, they are intolerant of such "barbarism". But, you should remember that Cumbrians do not tolerate too acidic substrate. Therefore, as soon as you notice signs of decomposition of the bark in a pot, it is better to transplant the plant. Otherwise, the root system will quickly rot.

Place at the bottom of the pot big chunks bark. Then carefully place the plant in the pot. If the root system is quite large, bend the roots not inward, but outward. Closer to the walls of the pot. About the pot. big pots cambria doesn't like it. The new pot should be slightly larger than the old one. Then sprinkle the roots with a mixture of bark and charcoal. Small faction.

When does Cumbria bloom?

If your cumbria hasn't bloomed for over a year, you can take this as a signal too frequent watering. Let's start with the fact that cumbria accumulates the necessary nutrients in its pseudobulbs.

As soon as you notice that the new shoot has formed a pseudobulb, drastically reduce the frequency of watering. Pseudobulbs should wrinkle. Don't be scared, it's normal. Once the pseudobulb is fully formed, stop watering altogether. Don't worry, the plant won't die. Do you remember that nutrients are available in pseudobulbs? Pseudobulbs will wrinkle even more. Even new. Water only after a couple of weeks. A little bit. As a rule, the period of "drying" of cumbria takes from two to four weeks. Then the peduncle hatches. As soon as you notice it, return to the usual frequency of watering.

Cumbria Care

Another type of orchid that can often be found on the shelves of flower shops is Cambria. Hybrid Cumbria have so different flowers in size and coloration that one would think it is different kind orchids. Despite all this diversity, caring for them is the same and not at all complicated. Cumbria are recommended for beginners.

Cambria is a conventional, trade name for a hybrid orchid, in the pedigree of which several different representatives oncidium group. The label often says "Cambria mix", which is also invented for ease of pronunciation of the orchid species.

Drainage is placed at the bottom of the pot (expanded clay, polystyrene, granite pebbles), then pieces of bark are placed, the plant is carefully planted and covered with smaller bark. Do not bury the bulbs in the substrate, let them remain on the surface of the substrate.

top dressing

It is necessary to fertilize cumbria during the growth period with a weak solution of fertilizer marked "for orchids". Do not overdo it, the roots are easy to burn strong mortar fertilizers. Stop feeding during flowering.

peace

Cumbrias bloom on new adults, mature growths, or produce a peduncle before the bulb matures at any time of the year, without requiring a dormant period. From each bulb, cumbria blooms only 1 time - with one peduncle or two, one on each side of the bulb. After flowering, let the orchid rest, water sparingly. When you see a "bud" of new growth, wait a bit - let it grow a few centimeters (a small bud can easily get wet in a humid environment) and start watering again.
