Stage I. Making roses from money

We will make 2 types of roses from paper money - to choose from.

Type 1. We cut the souvenir bill into 2 or 3 parts along the wide side, glue it into 1 strip. We twist the rose into a bud, and we wrap the strip all the time back. Thus, sharp petals are obtained. If you cut the bill into 2 parts, then the rose will turn out higher and larger. Also, the longer the stripe, the more flower in diameter.

Type 2. An open rose with petals and a bead is assembled according to the “cabbage” principle. We turn the petals from the bills a little back so that the flower is lush.

For the decor of the money tree, you can use either the 1st or 2nd type of rose. Instead of souvenir bills, you can use a black and white newspaper or music sheets.

Stage II. pot making

For the money topiary "Abundance" the pot is made by hand, on the basis of tin, glass, plastic jar or any other durable container. We knead the gypsum to the consistency of thick sour cream, the approximate proportion of gypsum / water is 1: 1. Rags must be completely immersed in the solution. It is better to use cotton fabric, cut into long pieces. Well impregnated with gypsum, squeeze out the excess mixture.

We do everything very quickly, in gloves, wash the dishes immediately, the remains of gypsum not necessary flush down the drain!

We wrap the container, creating a textured surface. Gypsum dries completely within 24 hours. After that, we grind the pot sandpaper or pumice stone, smoothing out irregularities.

Step by step we decorate the pot:

1. We paint completely dark paint without gold.
2. We fix the zipper on one side, mark the location of the coins.
3. We stick coins - from large to small.
4. We glue the zipper completely.
5. We add gold to the green paint, paint the pot with a semi-dry sponge.
6. We make the third layer even lighter: add more gold. We paint randomly all over the jar, also with a semi-dry sponge.

Layers dry for 10-15 minutes if acrylic is used. Gouache - up to half an hour.

To decorate the pot of the money tree "Abundance" we use exactly metal zipper- in color with coins.

This method gives the surface the effect of antiquity: the pot acquires a ceramic antique look.

You can use 2 color options: green and gold acrylic or black and green gouache + bronze and PVA glue. Besides, gold acrylic can be replaced: gold gouache, bronze powder, glitter powder, patal.

Right now it is convenient to prepare the trunk for the Abundance money topiary - while the last layer of the pot dries. We paint the Corilus (Salex) branch pre-sanded with sandpaper in 2 layers with a bronze tint (gold + brown gouache).

Stage III. Crown preparation and plaster casting

We make a ball for the money tree "Abundance" by hand: we press newspapers and wrap them with tape. We fix the trunk before filling the crown. We glue flowers in a chaotic manner around the ball, seal the gaps with small roses and beads. In total, a ball with a diameter of 18 cm will need 75-80 flowers, depending on the size of the bud.

You can do without additional decor: you get a beautiful and neat crown with roses made of money.

We fix the trunk with the prepared crown in a pot for plaster casting. If a ceramic or glass container is used, then add pieces of foam or sponge to the solution. All secrets are revealed in a separate article.

Gypsum hardens in 2-3 hours, but it is better to leave it overnight - until it dries completely and evaporates moisture.

Stage IV. Additional crown decor

We mark the compositional center of the topiary with a large leaf of grapes, we place symbols of abundance on the crown: fertility, wealth, harvest. Unstick coins and twisted paper bills, covering unsightly parts of the crown.

Frog - rubber toy; you can also take any figurine. The selected item is painted with gold or bronze.

We tie a satin bow under the topiary ball from the money "Abundance". Also on the color will suit green organza bow.

Stage V. Filling the pot

Under the sisal, on a plaster cast, we lay a synthetic winterizer to save expensive fiber. On a sisal substrate (fixed with glue), we duplicate materials from the crown so that the top of the topiary is in harmony with the bottom.
