Norbord Oriented Strand Board Certificates

Control of the production of OSB boards is carried out at all stages technological process from the control of raw materials to the control of finished products. The tree species, the diameter of the trunks and their moisture content are subject to verification. Material that does not meet quality standards is rejected. The shape of the chips, the quality of drying, as well as the quality of the connections between the chips and the glue in the structure of the material are subject to control. For the production of boards

OSB (OSB) - oriented strand board

OSB (English OSB, Oriented Strand Board) - oriented strand boards, material obtained by pressing a flat wood chips conifers non-commercial wood using binder component(water resistant synthetic resin).

The production of boards is a continuous pressing process using high temperature and pressure. The plate consists of 3 layers: the chips in the layer are parallel to one another and perpendicular to the chips in adjacent layers. Chip thickness - 0.65 mm, width - 5-25 mm, length - 75-125 mm. The dimensions, shape and orientation of the chips in individual layers make it possible to achieve the best physical and mechanical parameters of the boards. This orientation of the flat chips results in structural material with high bending strength and elasticity along the main axis of the plate.

The main advantages of OSB-Kalevala:

Density and wear resistance of the plate. Northern Karelian coniferous forests famous for their quality wood, which differs high density and high resin content, providing durability and resistance of the material. The harsh climate and harsh growing conditions of northern rocks guarantee high hardness compared to simple European pine. DOK "Kalevala" is located and produces OSB in Karelia from this environmentally friendly and dense northern wood.

Geometry stability plates is confirmed by reviews of manufacturers of SIP panels.

Smooth (polished, glossy) surface due to the peculiarities of the technological process of manufacturing the slab of the DOK "Kalevala".

LLC DOK "Kalevala" manufactures products that meet high requirements environmental safety.

OSB Kalevala have Russian certificates of conformity, sanitary and epidemiological conclusions and a certificate fire safety.

DOK Kalevala products belong to the free formaldehyde emission class E1 . All quality indicators of OSB Kalevala correspond to European standard EN-300.

The raw material used is pulpwood, thinner, obtained as a result of felling and care of fast-growing wood species.

In fact, OSB is "improved wood": stronger and more elastic due to the preservation of all useful properties tree array. The technology of pressing and the composition of the binder exclude the possibility of delamination of the plate. OSB does not have the common wood and plywood defects such as knots, internal voids and delamination.

Competitive advantage of OSB over other wood and wood chip materials - minimum requirements to raw materials, therefore, lower production costs, large dimensions with high rigidity, high strength bending, shape and size stability, moisture resistance, ease of processing.

The price of OSB Kronospan plates (Belarus), 12 mm 1.25 * 2.5 m - 750 rubles / sheet

Oriented strand board (OSB) is a building material that is a multi-layer, pressed from wood chips boards glued with water-resistant resins under pressure. They are designed specifically for building needs.

The plate manufacturer, the Kronospan concern, uses innovative production methods, technological innovations and many years of world experience and guarantees the high quality of the OSB.

Production process of OSB Kronospan

Kronospan OSB boards consist of 90% flat wood chips. It is obtained from pine logs harvested in the process of felling for forest care. After cleaning the trunks from the bark, they are crushed into flat rectangular chips of standard length and thickness in the ratio of 100 mm x 0.6 mm. The width of the chips depends on the part of the log from which they are obtained.

The upper layers of chips in the slab are located along its length, and the inner layers are transverse. The flat shape of the chips helps to level them in layers, and the long size helps them stick. This structure, combined with a special adhesive composition and paraffin emulsion, sprayed onto wood, allows you to save its fiber and provides high moisture resistance of the material.

Externally, Kronospan OSB boards are completely smooth: they do not have protrusions, cracks or other internal defects, both sides are of the same quality. The parameters of such boards can be compared with the characteristics of plywood, but unlike the latter, they are always of the first grade and are much cheaper. Their high strength contributes to the reliable fastening of the connecting elements, and simple processing and recycling means less tool wear.

Kronospan OSB boards are dense, keep their shape well, have excellent moisture resistance and sound insulation, they are easy to cut and process. The microstructure of the chips linked to each other does not allow the edges of the plates to break off when they are connected with nails, gives them high rigidity and strength both in bending and in shear, which is especially important in frame construction.

Types of OSB boards:

  • Kronospan OSB 1 - universal board, for use in dry rooms inside buildings, not designed for loads;
  • Kronospan OSB 2 is a board for dry rooms, it tolerates loads well.
  • Kronospan OSB 3 - can be used in conditions of moderate humidity, both inside and outside buildings, tolerates loads well.
  • Kronospan OSB 4 - designed for use in high humidity conditions, resistant to heavy loads.

Standard

EN 300 - type OSB 3; EN 13501-1: class D-s1, d0.

Formaldehyde class

There are three main types of OSB Kronospan boards, depending on the method of finishing the edges:

  • with straight edges (edges);
  • with edges processed by double-sided milling into a comb-groove;
  • edges have four-sided milling into a comb-groove.

OSB application

Stroymet specialists are confident that Kronospan OSB is the wood building material of the future. High quality, environmental friendliness, no harmful effects of production on the environment, multilateral use - these are the qualities that consumers appreciate in them.

In particular, boards such as "Kronospan OSB 3" or "Kronospan OSB 4", which have excellent specifications in terms of resistance to moisture, including that contained in the air, are specially designed for the construction of houses and buildings using technology frame construction. Important arguments in their favor are characteristics such as low absorbency, low swelling, providing reliability, strength and stability. building structure the entire building.

Use of Kronospan OSB 3 and Kronospan OSB 4 boards:

  • for the arrangement of the roof;
  • for the construction of outdoor and internal walls;
  • as decking for floors and ceilings;

Quality

All Kronospan products have high operational characteristics. This is due to the fact that during the production process, each product is subjected to a number of tests, including control:

  • Selection of logs according to the degree of moisture, diameter and type of wood;
  • The shape and moisture content of chips after drying;
  • Pressing temperatures and pressures;
  • Density of the product;
  • Swelling of the plate in thickness;
  • Tensile strength according to test V -100;
  • Tensile strength;
  • elasticity coefficient;
  • Degrees of humidity;
  • Correspondence finished product existing format ( appearance, dimensions, edge processing).

Finished products are regularly tested on standard tests, as well as special quality control methods.

Advantages of OSB

OSB boards are used everywhere and are great alternative Chipboard, plywood and ordinary boards. They may vary in size and thickness. One of the main advantages of OSB is the low content of glue, so they correspond to the class E1 according to the sanitary classification.

Products "Kronospan OSB" are produced in modifications: with a flat end and milled into a comb-groove. Slabs with a groove are mainly used in the construction of floors and roofs.

OSB - one-stop solution, which became a revolutionary breakthrough in wooden construction. Built with this material frame houses have a number of advantages, they are:

  • quickly erected;
  • reliable enough;
  • energy saving and environmentally friendly.

Record construction time is not provided negative impact on the quality of the home. As a rule, OSB houses are much cheaper than building from any other material. The service life of such houses can reach several tens of years. The OSB house is easily heated and does not require high costs energy for heating. The thermal conductivity of the walls in such a house will directly depend on the thickness insulating material used in construction. OSB walls are harmless not only for environment but also for humans.

It needs to be known

The strength characteristics of OSB boards differ for the end and main axis. In construction, the main bending load should go exclusively to the main axis. According to the longitudinally oriented chips on the surface of the slab, it is possible to correctly determine its bearing axis.

The rigidity and strength of the OSB board along the end axis is 2.5 times lower than its rigidity and strength along the main axis.
