As a rule, in typical apartments, a double-leaf door consists of two leaves 60 cm wide. In this case, the leaves will be 70 cm each. Which changes absolutely nothing during the installation process, just the upper box beam will be 20 cm wider than standard door out of sixty.

We unpack the doors, carefully check where the top is, where the bottom is, which side of the glass is matte and which is glossy, we determine which side where the doors will look in the opening.

Having decided which side where the doors will stand, we decide in which sash the crossbar will be installed, and in which handle. And we carefully sign everything, we glue the masking tape from the side of the loops with front side doors (on the opening side).

Carefully inspect each box beam. Let's start with the fact that they can generally turn out to be from different models doors, not suitable friend to each other in width and geometry. It also happens. Box timber, as a rule, is curved in one direction or another. Let the side bars be whatever you like, they are not difficult to pull out during installation. Then we hang the second door and, adjusting its position relative to the first door, mark the position of the second beam and fix it.

To prevent the upper beam from being squeezed out with foam, its position can be fixed with a self-tapping screw. Or insert a 3 mm thick gasket over one of the doors and leave it for the foam to dry.

After making sure that the doors are exactly relative to each other, the gaps are observed and everything is in order, we foam the seams.

How to install a double interior design

• Swing installation is the most popular option. This method of opening the canvases improves sound insulation compared to sliding design. But will take away more space, which can be used to place furniture near the opening. Swing interior structures most often installed in spacious rooms.

After choosing the design features of the opening, you need to take measurements of your opening and, if necessary, reduce or increase it. At the same time, keep in mind that the width of the opening should be 90 - 110 mm larger than the canvases.

The width of the required opening for swing doors is calculated using the formula:

If you plan to mount sliding doors, then prepare the opening so that it is 100 mm narrower than the width of two canvases. The ends in the opening can be ennobled with the help of additional strips.

Now you can start preparing the opening. We make expansion using a puncher, grinder or chainsaw. It all depends on the material of the walls. We narrow the opening with plaster, putty or lumber (for wooden walls).

Installing double doors: assembling the door frame

Before you start assembling a frame for a double-leaf door, you need to fit the timber to the required dimensions.

To do this, use the formula:

• Shvk \u003d 2 * (Shd + 3) + 4, where
• Shvk - width inside boxes;

You need these data before installing a double interior door:

• After marking, we cut off the box beam at an angle of 45 o. The most convenient way to do this end saw. If not, then use a fine-toothed hacksaw and a miter box.

• The final stage in the assembly of the box is the connection of all its parts. First we connect the parts and twist them with three self-tapping screws.

Important! To prevent the tree from cracking, you need to make a hole before screwing in the self-tapping screw. With a self-tapping screw thickness of 3.5 mm, the drill should be 2.5 mm in diameter.

Installation of a door frame for double-leaf structures

• We outline at what height the guide rail will be attached.
• With the help of a level, we draw a line and fasten a bar along it to a wall 40-50 mm thick.
• We install the guide on the bar and hang the door on it.

Installing hinges on interior doors

• Having adjusted all the details, we screw the canopies to the door with screws, the minimum length of which is 3.5 cm.

With the installation box, everything happens approximately the same way:

• We mark the arrangement of the loop in a vertical position.
• Then we insert the door into the box, observing a gap of up to 4 mm between the canvas and the upper beam.
• Having pulled out the door, we cut out the grooves with a chisel and then, inserting the door back, we cut the hinge into the standing door frame.
• After checking their functionality several times, make sure that the door enters the box without any hooks.

Installing a box in a doorway

The installation of the box can be carried out with or without a hinged door. Before installation to avoid later cleaning problems construction foam it is better to protect the surface with paper, tape or other suitable material. It is better to put a cloth under the spacers to avoid scratching the door. The advantage of this method is that there is no need to make holes.

Double door installation

Before you start fixing an interior double-leaf door on its fixed leaf, you need to mount a crossbar - a metal pin that protrudes from the ends when locking.

Crossbar installation steps:

• Initially, markings are applied at the intended location of the crossbar.
• Then a hole is drilled, the depth of which should correspond to the thickness of the pin, and the diameter should be 3-4 mm less than its width. In order for the door to close without play, the holes should be made with a slight angle.
• Using a cutting carpentry tool, the groove is adjusted to the required width and depth. After that, the crossbar is inserted and fixed with screws.

Now we proceed to the installation of the double-leaf door itself - a canopy of canvases and their careful fitting to each other, using props and racks.

Installation steps for a double door:

1 . We install the first door and immediately check how it closes. If the harness rubs against the jamb, it is necessary to deepen the grooves. If the door “walks”, then we put small cardboard boxes under the hinges.

2 . Then we mount the second door in the same way.

After fully adjusting the double-leaf door, the hinges must be fixed with the remaining screws. In order not to affect the location of the structure during fixation, it is advised to install wooden gaskets between the base of the opening and the elements of the box.

It is worth remembering that after installing the doors, it is not recommended to carry out work that will cause an increase in humidity in the room, for example, plastering, priming, painting walls, etc.

Foaming

Before starting this stage of installing interior double doors, the surface should be carefully prepared in order to avoid further difficulties associated with the removal of mounting foam. To do this, the doors should be carefully closed with cellophane, and glue the door frame masking tape. After this, the space between the wall and the box is foamed. Then within 2-3 hours polyurethane foam must dry completely.

It is important that the foam has a low coefficient of expansion, otherwise the box may warp.

Lock installation

Inserting the lock is one of the most difficult manipulations in installing an interior double door. The thing is that this stage requires surgical precision, since the smallest discrepancy between the locking and mating parts can cause jamming, which will subsequently lead to the need to reinstall the lock, and this will spoil the appearance of the door. In addition, the difficulty lies in the fact that you need a canopy to cut the lock. Therefore, this stage should be treated with special responsibility.

1 . Initially, the lock body is applied to the end of the door at the planned height, then it is circled with an awl.

2 . After that, it is necessary to make a groove, the depth of which is equal to the length of the lock.

The amount that turned out should be multiplied by two and added for about 0.5 centimeters for mortgages. Using the same method, you can calculate the height, only the gap must be taken into account that is between the canvas and the door, as well as between the box and the door. If there is a threshold, you must add the height, double the thickness and the gap between the canvas and the system, multiply by two.

Assembly
