The principle of decorating a vase with leaves

You will need:
- liquid starch (regular, household, which is used for washing);
- small flat household brushes;
- hair spray;
- a shallow base (bowl), or strong cardboard, or a deep vase - optional;
- what, in fact, you will make up the autumn composition.

Dried components (flowers, berries, twigs) can be prepared independently, or you can buy in specialized stores.

You can take real apples for a vase (but keep in mind that they will have to be replaced in a week), or you can buy wax ones.

Don't forget to collect outside more leaves diversified different forms(and then dry them), chestnuts, acorns, cones, even simple fallen twigs.

Remember that in the composition, depending on its direction, you can always use nuts, heads of garlic, pieces of tree bark, spikelets, replicas of vegetables (or even natural vegetables), dried berries.

We prepare a vase (one of the options):

1. Choose a glass, wooden or any other base vase for the composition. In the case of glass, it will shine through, and the glued leaves will be better visible. Wide, almost flat vases are optimal, as they provide a much larger field for action, with the ability to use not only flowers and branches, but also others. small parts like cones, nuts and apples.

2. Obtain liquid household starch, the desired color of special, thin wrapping paper and a brush.

3. Coat the outside of the vase (turn it upside down for better handling) with a generous layer of liquid household starch.

4. Press the thin wrapping paper right size to the surface with starch. The wrinkles and folds that appear on the paper will give your vase a very distinctive look.

5. Apply another layer of liquid starch to the stuck paper.

6. Press dried autumn leaves against it (if desired, through short distances or with a dense wall). Add starch, if necessary, to keep the leaves firmly in place.

7. Cover the layer of leaves with another layer of liquid starch and thin wrapping paper (the contours of the leaves will show through on the paper; if you also find translucent thin wrapping paper, the decor of the vase will look even more sophisticated and voluminous).

8. Finish dressing the vase by applying a final layer of starch to secure everything in place.

9. Let the vase dry in a well-ventilated area (this is necessary not only for quick drying, but also in order not to inhale the fumes yourself).

10. After making sure that the layers are completely dry, spray the resulting hairspray (choose one that does not smell too strong), achieving a thin coating. Now everything will definitely hold on and shine. Let the vase dry a little more.

Compositions

Compositions can be made from flowers, dried flowers, vegetables, ornamental corn, cones, acorns, nuts, everything that your imagination is capable of.

We compose the composition:

1. Decide if you will make a border of dry leaves along the contour - they will create something like a frame for the whole composition. If yes, start with it. Apply a thick and wide layer liquid glue along the contour of a wide neck or around the perimeter of a vase (depending on whether you chose a high or flat vase). Start gluing the leaves - put not only the legs on the glue, but also a small lower part of the leaves so that they hold well. Let the workpiece dry properly.

2. If you chose a flat vase, you will need a base for the composition - something on which you will fix the branches and so on. details. It can be a wire base with sections, soft base like a sponge (can be bought in specialized stores and sometimes in supermarkets), or a small wicker basket turned upside down with enough big holes in weaving. The main thing is that the base must be carefully fixed on the upper side of the vase.

Choose the form and composition of the composition: if it is a classic lush collection of branches and dry flowers, the base is fixed in the center; if the allegory is about the harvest, autumn prosperity and splendor, with vegetables, nuts and other things, then the base should be chosen smaller and “carried” it on the vase a little back and to the left (and the composition itself should already be built diagonally from left to right, where higher elements, and on the right all smaller ones).
The base can be just as decorative and visible if you decide to make the composition on several levels, for example, by decorating the bottom with dry flowers and bringing a small bowl of nuts, apples and chestnuts to the top.
Accordingly, if no high elements are expected in the composition, you can do without a base at all.

3. Start fantasizing and fixing the elements of the composition. Remember that high parts, like branches with dry berries, may hang over the left edge, for example, over acorns and nuts, which are located on the right; that the branches can be used in an original way by cutting them and leaving them sticking out as the highest parts in the composition; you can tie small bouquets of dried flowers and leaves with small decorative ribbons and lay them out in compositions with ready-made details; or fix acorns / nuts / berries on long branches so that they are located in the bouquet at the same level as the flowers.

The main principle in creating autumn vases- this is the richness of the elements, harmony and splendor. How to make dried flowers read

Add-ons:

Best in autumn composition x look dried leaves of ginkgo, maple, pistachio (there are three colors - green, yellow and red), oak and fern;

If you choose to use fresh flowers, be careful not to get water on the outside of the vase! If the outer layers do get wet, let them air dry, do not blot with anything;

- For an autumn mood, choose slightly muted colors of thin wrapping paper: yellow, red (as well as its shades - burgundy, wine), orange, brown;

- Instead of the paper version, you can arrange a vase, for example, by cutting out sunflowers or other flowers from fabric, starching them, and attaching them in a creative mess to outside vases; wrapping the vase in a fabric of a suitable color / color, and securing it near the throat with a ribbon, woven dry stems or glue;

For autumn compositions, corduroy or suede plain or checkered ribbons of any material and their analogues are optimally suited.

PUMPKINS

I just love pumpkin. The pumpkin can be placed on a console, shelf, mantel or table. Your interior will immediately change in a special way, it will take on an autumn look, but not dull and sad, but bright, joyful and even solemn. Look at this beauty

It’s easy to make a pumpkin vase, cut off the lid, take out the pulp, put a jar of water inside and a bouquet in it

The pumpkin can be painted with gold paint. We will need a few tiny pumpkins, no bigger than an apple or an orange. We lay out the pumpkins on paper and paint with a gold-colored spray paint, and a stunningly beautiful decorative element is ready.

Take any Maple Leaf, attach to the pumpkin and circle with a felt-tip pen. Then, with a knife, cut shallowly along the contour of the sheet. scrape off upper layer pumpkin skins inside the outline.

Dry the flower heads (roses, marigolds, cornflowers, etc.), place them in a glass or clay vase and sprinkle with a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil. Such a fragrant potpourri will not only decorate the interior, but also flavor the air. Pieces of dried fruits and spices (cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks) are often added to such a composition.

BOUQUETS FROM CEREALS

To make cereals dazzling white, dry them in the sun.

Components of the "winter" bouquet:roses, amaranths, immortelle, muzzle, gypsophila, eryngium, yarrow, feather grass, etc. Leaves, stems with seeds, twigs with berries (mountain ash, wild rose), poppy pods, reeds, lanterns, fiza, cereals and herbs are also used.

The filler will not only add brightness to the transparent glass vase, but will also help hold flower stems or other long elements of the composition. Most often, ceramic and glass beads are used as a filler, glass beads, smooth pebbles, pebbles or coarse sand. If no water is added to the vase, dry plants, nuts, beans, dried pods, dried pasta, and any other small items can be used.

For flower vases

The flower vase filler should not soak, be large enough to hold the flowers, but small enough to stick the stems into. A good option- glass balls. Thanks to them round shape, the stem can be inserted without difficulty all the way to the bottom of the vase, and they are heavy enough to hold the flower in vertical position. transparent and colored glass gives different effect. If the stems are very tall, you can put coins or other flat heavy filler on the bottom of the container to prevent the vase from tipping over.

Decorative filler

Transparent vases can be decorated with almost any kind of filler. River pebbles, shells and colored pebbles will add brightness and character to the interior. An interesting filler is obtained from beach glass, it can be used both in dry vases and in dishes with water.

Edible filler

Food can also be used to decorate the home, especially the kitchen and dining room. Just pour into transparent vase or a ceramic wide low bowl coffee beans or multi-colored curly pasta. Dry beans come in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes and make an interesting vase filler in the kitchen.

It will also be funny to look at a vase with multi-colored or one-color lollipops. It can be placed on coffee table in the living room or common room, and take sweets from there while watching TV. The same applies to large nuts, both whole and shelled. Walnuts, Brazil nuts and other nuts will become both a decorative and tasty element of the interior.

Plastic

Inexpensive and varied filler is obtained from plastic. Look for items that aren't very flat so the vase isn't too full. Lego blocks different colors and small plastic toys interesting and unusual look in a glass vase. Even small dolls and Stuffed Toys can be used as a vase filler. During New Year's Eve ideal option will become Christmas decorations and tinsel, and for Easter you can put plastic Easter eggs in a vase.

For growing plants

Some types of plants grow in a water-filled vase without soil, such as bamboo varieties. Here you need a filler that allows the roots to penetrate through it, for example, glass beads or balls. Through clear glass you can see the roots of a growing plant - a very beautiful and impressive sight.
