Sealant for wood "Warm seam": description and reviews. Recommendations for applying sealant using the “Warm Seam” technology What is the warm seam of a wooden house

Warm seam for wooden house is one of the most modern and convenient ways sealing, which allows you to quickly, efficiently and permanently isolate the cracks in the wood, formed during the shrinkage of the house.

The use of a sealant eliminates the traditional, not the most reliable and durable caulking of tow, especially in homes with a natural drying method. Since the standing houses, a lot of cracks are formed, poor-quality sealing of which can lead to a lot of unpleasant moments.

Disadvantages of traditional insulation methods:

There are many on the market various kinds sealant, but for such specific work as sealing joints in wooden house, not for everyone. Sealants based on acrylic and butyl rubber are widely used.

Acrylic type sealant is the most used material in European countries and America.

Advantages of acrylic sealant:

  • Within half an hour, a protective film against dust begins to form on the surface of the sealant. The time for complete polymerization depends on the manufacturer, usually from one to four days. In wet rooms film formation time increases.
  • Allows you to seal seams of different thicknesses.
  • Eco-friendly, does not emit odor and is used for interior and exterior decoration.
  • Working with the material does not require special protective equipment It is enough to use gloves and special clothing.
  • Temperature range from -10 to +35С°
  • There are different color solutions, which will allow you to decorate the sealant to match the color of the house painting.
  • It is possible to partially finish the facade of the house, the interior and rooms with high humidity.
  • The sealant has good adhesion and adheres well to wood. In the frozen state, it is plastic and does not crack when "walking" the walls of the house.
  • Quick and easy to apply. Extra parts are easily removed. The tool is washed with plain water.
  • The material is vapor-permeable, allows air to circulate, but prevents the penetration of moisture through the seam. Acrylic is resistant to sunlight, does not fade and is not subject to destruction, durable. If necessary, the seam can be easily dismantled.
  • Good protection against insect penetration.
  • At a price no more expensive than a traditional correctly executed caulk.
  • The seam being made can be various shapes, concave or convex.

Lack of material - in the process of performing work and until the final moment of polymerization, the weather must be dry.

Domestic manufacturers suggest using a sealant based on butyl rubber, a material that belongs to the type of non-curable and does an excellent job of insulating, easy to apply.

Types of packaging

Types of sealant packaging depend on the manufacturer:

  • In file-packs, for use in pistols.
  • Packing in the form of a bucket, it is convenient to work with a spatula. The box can have a classic, or hermetically sealing lid with a hole inside, for the possibility of loading the sealant into the gun.
  • In the form of a cord in polyethylene protective film. After removing the film, the cord is placed in the seam and leveled with a chisel. This type allows you to insulate the house, people who do not have enough experience in performing work on sealing joints, and allows you to save on the purchase of an expensive automatic gun.

Warm seam technology

Warm seam technology wooden houses involves several stages of work.

Used materials, tools:

  • Putty knife.
  • Special construction pistol. During the course of the work, it may be necessary lubricant, for better job gun mechanism.

Important! The cut size of the nozzle allows you to adjust the amount of sealant released and the size of the seam.

  • Primer, for impregnation of the most absorbent parts of wood.
  • Special insulating cord made of foamed polyethylene, for laying in wide gaps from 1 cm, to save the amount of sealant and more quality finishes seams.
  • An industrial stapler with a long nose, or a hammer and small furniture nails, for the possible fixing of the insulation in the cracks.
  • Soap solution that moistens the surface of the spatula when leveling the seam.
  • Construction tape may be needed for homeowners who do not have experience with sealant.

Preparatory work:

  • Cleaning the surface of wood from dirt and the top peeling layer.

Note! Sealing should be done before the wood is coated with antiseptic, as the solution may interfere with the adhesion of the material.

  • Surface drying.

Basic Operations:

  • To simplify the work, stick a special industrial adhesive tape on the logs, which will protect the wood of the seam from contamination by sealants, outside the application area.

  • The sealant is applied to all the seams between the logs and the gaps formed. If the gap is larger than 10mm, it is recommended to lay a special cord.

  • The cord can be installed with a chisel, in some cases it may be necessary to additionally fix the cord along the entire length with small nails or a stapler. The size of the seam should be within 4÷12 mm.
  • Apply the composition with a gun or chisel. In the case of using sealant in the form of a cord, remove the film and install the sealant in the gap.

  • Level the surface and remove excess elements from the seam with a chisel or sponge soaked in water. It is also allowed to work with only one spatula.

  • Removing tape.
  • After the completion of the polymerization process, the seam can be processed paintwork materials acrylic based.

Doing the “warm seam” technology for wooden houses with your own hands, using a gun, or a spatula is a simple task, but it requires some skill and patience. Since it will be problematic for a beginner to apply a professional even seam especially if you do it quickly.

Using a sealant in the form of a cord will speed up the procedure, but this technology requires the subsequent coating of the surface of the seam with an alkyd-based varnish.

In more detail about how a "warm seam" is performed for wooden houses on the video.

Conclusion

In order for a wooden house to please with its warmth and comfort for a long time, it is necessary to take care of the quality of the materials used and the observance of technologies. Works performed using the “warm seam” technology are done once and for a long time, which allows the owner to avoid spending money on regular caulking of house facades.

The volume of construction of wooden houses is growing every year. This is due to several factors - the aesthetics of antiquity "on new way and good operational properties. But there is one important problem, which is peculiar only to wooden log cabins especially for new buildings. Over time, gaps appear between the crowns, which significantly impair thermal insulation, noise absorption and protection of walls from premature destruction of the tree. One of effective ways solution to the problem - sealing the cracks that have appeared using the warm seam technology.

During the construction of a wooden house, a layer of sealant is mounted on the upper plane of each crown. Often this is linen tow or felt, which are optimal material for sealing gaps between logs or timber (more on this). But over time, the owners of wooden houses may notice the appearance of cracks and cracks in the walls of the building. This usually happens 1.5-2 years after construction.

There are several reasons for such defects:

  1. Natural uneven shrinkage of the house.
  2. The discrepancy between the linear dimensions of the logs. This is typical for houses made of non-rounded timber. During construction, the distance between the crowns may be slightly larger than the standard, but due to shrinkage, it often increases.
  3. Incorrectly calculated layer of interventional sealant. Its excess can be squeezed out under the influence of the weight of the wall.
  4. Changing the geometric dimensions of timber or logs. This problem is characteristic of baths, where big swings temperatures and humidity. During operation, shrinkage or absorption of moisture occurs, which leads to a change in size and geometry.

There is traditional way solutions to these problems - cracks and gaps. To do this, sealants are installed in the formed "cold bridges": tow, linen felt or jute. However, they do not guarantee the preservation of the sealing of the house. Therefore, it was developed new technology– warm mezhventsovy seam.

Technology Description

On the preparatory stage dirt and dust are removed from the surface of the wall. Be sure to degrease the interventional end for better adhesion of the sealant. The wall must be dry and the air temperature must be suitable for the installation conditions.

Stages of work:

  • Installation masking tape along the edges of the seam.
  • Installation of sealing tape. The thickness of the tape should exceed the intervention gap by 1-1.5 mm. It is installed with a wooden spatula.
  • Application of sealant. For a uniform layer, nozzles with a diameter of 0.6 to 2.5 cm are used. The layer thickness should not be less than 5 mm. If necessary, the material is applied to the seam with a spatula.

More detailed instructions using warm seam technology is shown in the video.

Before reading this section, please note that we give all questions and answers from the ten years of experience of the work performed by our teams, and not from the experience of Internet resources or the experience of other dubious theorists and practitioners with spoons instead of spatulas!

At what ambient temperature can a house be insulated?

Most acrylic-based sealants are smoothed and corrected with water, the warm joint after your house is completely sealed must dry and adhere, this requires a minimum of a week at a temperature of +20 and up to a month at a temperature of +5. Therefore, if you do not want to fill the seams of your house with rough mass and ruin the aesthetics of your house, the average daily temperature environment must be at least +5. Unfortunately, there are firms that are ready to heat up the walls of your house in frost in order to seal your house, this technology is doubtful and will add to your hassle with the appearance of additional kilometer-scale cracks throughout the house in the future. For such firms, the activity is based on a commercial component, and not assistance in warming your home.

Is it possible to work in rainy weather?

Under direct raindrops, it is impossible to carry out work on sealing a wooden house. This will flush out the sealant! If it so happened that the rain started after some time, then just cover the wall with a film

Is it possible to work under the scorching sun?

When sealing your home, you must move in the direction of the sun, because when exposed to open sun rays on a warm seam, as a result of the heating of the vilatherm and the release of air from it, slight bubbles may appear on the seam itself!

When is it possible to seal the house after erecting the walls of a wooden house?

After your house has shrunk, and this is at least 6 months after the walls and roof were erected.

At what stage of finishing work is it necessary to seal the house?

At the earliest stage after grinding, painting and casing, because in order to eliminate all blowing as much as possible, it is necessary to seal under them before installing the hemming and installing the trim!

Surface preparation before applying a warm seam?

The surface must be clean or primed!

In what sequence is a warm seam applied: before paint on bare wood or after paint?

Sealant Acryl 100 Remmers can be applied in any sequence, based on the possibility of your wooden house (painted or sanded). Also, the sequence depends on your preferences for the aesthetics of your house (to highlight or not to highlight a beautiful and correct warm seam). The main thing is that the surface is properly prepared, has a clean or primed surface. Exceptions are compositions of paints intended for application. If these are paints where the base is oil or wax such as Biofa,
Leinos, Osmo, etc. (premium class), then sealant cannot be applied over all layers, this does not apply to such types of paints as Tikurila, Belinka, where 3-5% oil or wax is added to the base. In such cases, the sealant can be applied in any sequence. True, often dubious experts insist on applying a seam to the paint. This is explained by the fact that people paint over poor-quality and incorrectly made warm seam with paint.

What is the Vilaterm cord for?

1) make a correct and even warm seam
2) save sealant consumption
Where and where it is laid depends on the specific shrinkage and shrinkage of your wooden house!

What is the consumption of sealant when sealing a wooden house?

The consumption of sealant when sealing a wooden house depends on the following factors:

1) Type of logs: chopped, rounded, timber, carriage, etc.
2) Types of felling, quality of felling: depth of the groove, cuts, locks, etc.
3) Log diameter
4) Qualification of specialists: correct laying of the Vilaterm cord, correct seam width
Therefore, with the standard observance of All norms and rules with one log diameter of 20 cm, the consumption of German sealant Remmers looks like this:

Chopped = 4 meters (600ml tube)
Rounded = 6 meters (600ml tube)
Beam = 7-8 meters (600ml tube)

What is the thickness of the warm seam?

The thickness of the seam is selected on your house, based on the characteristics of shrinkage, laying and the diameter of the log. On average, it ranges from 1 to 1.5 cm

Do you use tape to even out the warm seam?

All houses sealed by us using the Warm Seam technology are made without a single meter of adhesive tape. The experience of our employees allows us to perform a correct and even seam using a spatula.

What pistol do you use?

All houses sealed by Our employees using the Warm Seam technology that you see in the gallery of Our works are made with mechanical guns that you can purchase on any construction market. This is explained by the fact that according to Remmers technology, after application, it is necessary to smooth and level the Remmers sealant with a spatula, the excess remains on the spatula, which is quite achieved with an ordinary gun, and the speed of squeezing the sealant out of the tube does not play any role here! (that is, we do not pour sealant from the compressor into the seams, which is contrary to technology, because adjustment is required at the sticking points!)

If you remove the caulk before sealing the wooden house, will the house shrink?

We do not completely remove or pierce the old tow that is under the logs and inside the bowls of your house. We cut or stuff with a spatula the tow that prevents us from making the right warm seam, so your house does not undergo additional shrinkage or rise!

How and with what should you paint a wooden house?

In order to properly paint a house, it is necessary to work with brushes with 100% natural bristles so that the paint is rubbed into the log, penetrating into the pores of the log. In the case of painting a wooden house, we should not talk about any compressors and sprayers, because apart from the speed of application, smudges and cheapness, they are of little use when it comes to protecting the tree. It is also necessary to use mobile scaffolding, tours, because transitions from the number of storeys of scaffolding rearrangement, nailed out of time with a delay to a different wall height, can be seen!

Which paint is better transparent or covering for applying to a wooden house?

Covering paint does not let the sun's rays through, respectively, does not burn through like a log lens, therefore, its service life until the next update is several times higher (subject to the surface preparation technology) transparent. Its peculiarity is that it completely hides the structure of your log, so it is less popular at the stage of the first painting.
Transparent paint is more often used for aesthetic reasons and practicality in the future. You can always use it at the time of the update paintwork After 5-7 years, always paint your wooden house in a covering without sanding the log, which cannot be done with a covering. And all these years enjoy the beauty of the structure of your wooden house!

Is it possible to dye a warm seam?

In the Remmers line of sealants, there are always options to apply a sealant with the so-called grain, which, unlike domestic counterparts, will always allow you to paint the seam and there will be no streaks and unpainted places if you use a sealant without grain. Sealant without grain is more suitable for internal works, because it may not be necessary to update the surface inside a wooden house for the entire period of residence.

Let's sum up Dear readers, remember a warm seam is not only home insulation, but also its beauty! You need to know what the right warm seam looks like, so if you have employees who make good stairs or build houses or lay professional tiles, this does not mean that they will do no worse sealing your house. Trust only companies that specialize only in sealing houses! This will save you at least one mistake related to the beauty and warmth of your beautiful wooden house!

  • RIKEDOM painting technology provides reliable protection wood. And it's not just words. You will no longer need to regrind the log house NEVER.

The cost of a warm seam

The quality of the warm seam directly depends on the selected sealant for a wooden house. From our experience, the best in terms of PRICE-QUALITY ratio is the German company REMMERS (REMMERS - Acryl-100), made in Germany. The first house we sealed with REMMERS has been in operation for 15 years and the sealant has held up perfectly!

REMMERS Acryl-100 sealant will not crack or flake off over time. It has excellent adhesion properties. It is environmentally friendly and has all the necessary certificates. Therefore, we use it and recommend it to everyone!

Delivery of works. Issuance of a PASSPORT for maintenance

Answers to your most common questions:

Coming to our office, you get a detailed consultation on how we work and make a decision whether you need it or not. And also we decide on the possibility of performing work at your facility. It is in the office, when communicating with managers, that a preliminary decision is made on the implementation of certain works. You can also find out estimated price. For measurements of geometry and humidity, our foreman visits you only after consultation in the office.

Why don't we just send a measurer? Because it's not serious, and we are a serious company. Just taking measurements so that you get a price is meaningless until you understand the principle of our work. Not a single "measurer" owns that huge practical experience owned by the head of the company. For your convenience, packages have been developed, where the price is determined per square meter of a log house. You yourself can "roughly estimate" how much approximately square meters make up the walls of your home.

In other firms - a different technology of work, and therefore a different price. Our technology – from grinding to final painting- It is aimed precisely at protecting the tree, that is, at the durability of the applied coating. And this means that in the future you will not have to again spend money on regrinding and painting again. This is the fundamental difference - not to pay again and again in the future, as 90% of the owners of wooden houses with ordinary painting do. And, of course, the work of RIKEDOM always stands out against the backdrop of hundreds of painted houses.

For each house painted by us - a warranty service PASSPORT is issued. That is, you need to understand that everything will be fine with the coating if you provide it with timely care.
During the production process, a special Journal is filled out, which indicates which tools and materials were used, a sketch of the structure, indicating problem areas and other technical characteristics.

The VIP package was created for clients who want only the best and are accustomed to maximum comfort. In addition to everything that is included in the FIRM PACKAGE, the VIP PACKAGE has additional privileges:
*4-layer painting. That is, in addition to priming and two mandatory layers of impregnation on the facade or oil / azure inside, another layer of composition is added, with another thorough interlayer grinding. This procedure is invaluable for the facade, for its greater protection and durability! For interiors - the quality of the tactile sensations of a magnificent wood finish is significantly increased!
*Restoration: chips, protruding wood chips, nail holes, etc. - we will restore everything, impeccability will please the eye.
* Creating a closed perimeter: put around scaffolding, we close it with canopies - the dust from grinding will not scatter, the neighbors (if the houses are closely located), the landscape and so on will not “suffer”. And what is important - the "closed perimeter" helps to improve the quality of work, because when painting and installing a warm seam, precipitation and direct sunlight are unacceptable. And in autumn-winter period this shelter of the house allows you to heat the space inside the canopies and thereby comply with the technology.
* We remove and put back platbands, ebbs, drainage system and anything else you need to get the job done.
*Individual color selection, free shipping test paints, as well as the paint itself and sealant.
*The most pleasant: PERSONAL control over the object from the company's management, as well as the solution of all issues on the object with the company's leaders.

Because we do not look at the cans where the paint consumption is written. Our task is to power the tree, and not just paint it. But the absorbency of a tree depends both on the type of product, breed, and also on where the forest comes from. On the different objects– different absorbency. On different logs - also different absorbency. We do not drip a couple of drops and stretch them out over ten squares in order to save you paint. We will power it until the most important thing is provided - the protection of the tree.
Therefore, the paint leaves on the objects - in different ways. That is - the paint goes after the fact. So does the sealant. The thickness of the warm joint depends solely on the diameter and fit of your log, as well as the size of the discrepancies in the interventional space. Therefore, the seam is selected based on these parameters. Make it too narrow - just simply tear the seam, make it too wide - not beautiful and useless. The size of the seam is determined only by the master, and the consumption of the sealant directly depends on this.
At our consultation, you will receive only INDICATIVE calculations for paint and sealant, based on our experience.

People with extensive experience in working with wood, with golden hands and a developed sense of responsibility. The backbone of craftsmen and foremen has not changed, we have been with them for more than 12 years. Of course, there are also beginners who are trained by the masters, so the staff is expanding. Judging by the number positive feedback what we receive from clients, we can proudly say that we have the best professional staff!

Technology warm seam for timber / logs:

If you want the warm joint sealant not to stand out against the general background of the painted log house, then the warm joint is applied to pre-sanded and primed wood, and then covered with two layers of azure / oil.

If you are planning a warm seam contrasting with the color of the log house, for example, a log house in the color of dark walnut, sealant is white, then it is applied to finishing layer azure/oil. REMMERS sealant has excellent adhesive properties, so it can even be applied to oil!

Also, a warm seam can be made between laser/oil layers. As you can see, if there are several ways to apply a warm seam, which one you will have, we will decide based on your log house, type of coating and wishes.

The price of a warm seam consists of the cost of installing a warm seam for a wooden house and the cost of a sealant for a warm seam. Everything else - scaffolding, polyethylene lace and others expendable materials- included in the cost of work.

The price of a warm seam for wooden houses in our company is due to the fact that we carry out a concave and rammed warm seam - as the highest quality of all types.

Before the device of a warm seam, it is NOT necessary to carry out caulking. In general, konpatka for a wooden house is a temporary procedure, it lasts for 3-4 years (it gets wet, birds pull it out, etc.). And the cost of high-quality caulking is the same as the cost of a warm seam. Therefore, you can spend money and time once every 3 years, or you can perform the warm seam technology once and for all.

Advantages and properties of a warm seam:

  • The device of a warm seam on the outside gives 100% absence of blowing in the joints of logs / beams
  • The sealant of the warm seam outside and inside, in addition to the absence of blowing, gives the heat capacity to the house. That is, a warm seam works best when sealing outside and inside the house.
  • Beautiful, neat view of the walls of the house
  • Reducing energy costs during the heating season
  • The seam can be made invisible against the general background of the walls, or it can be beautifully emphasized along with the ends of the logs. In any case, a beautiful, high-quality warm seam has not yet spoiled any building, but, on the contrary, decorates it.
  • Using quality material sealant, for example, if you buy a warm seam from Remmers in Moscow, you can be sure that the seam will not crack and retain its properties for many years.
  • The price of work on sealing a wooden house is comparable to the price of a high-quality caulking device, BUT, caulking for three years, and a warm seam for at least 20 years!

Sealing cracks in a log house:

  • Sealing of cracks in the log house is performed ONLY after the end of the full shrinkage period, which is three to four years. That is, when the log house finally sits down, the log / beam will crack. The moisture content of the log in this case is 15-14%. If the cracks are sealed with sealant up to this point, there is a risk of the sealant being squeezed out of the cracks, which significantly spoils appearance at home and leads to the dismantling of the sealant (and this procedure is oh so not simple!).
  • When painting a log house, after a year or a year and a half, you can only seal large cracks, especially on the facade of the log house, from water getting there.

Warming of a wooden house

Living in a wooden house, especially for log cabins and timber, people often face the problem of blowing and freezing in the walls, and therefore they ask about the insulation of a wooden house. But do not sheathe the walls with mineral wool, clapboard, or even worse, with plastic! The simplest and most reliable thing that can be done is a warm seam (sealing).

Warming of a wooden house in log cabins and timber

The fact is that in the process of shrinkage of the log house, significant gaps are formed between the crowns of the log house, cracks through which cold from outside enters the house. Whatever large diameter there was no log, no matter how well it was folded, 4-5 years after the installation of the log house, you will still come to the question of insulating the walls of a wooden house.

There are a lot of problematic places: this is the junction of the roof to the walls, the junction of the lower crown to the lining board, cuts (log releases), interventional seams. Previously, the insulation of a wooden house was solved with the help of caulking, in fact, a high-quality caulking of a log house is a very expensive thing and must be done good professionals. But, alas, very short-lived. Because caulking is "stealed" by birds, so you have to caulk every 3-4 years. Modern solution warming of a wooden house is a "warm seam" technology. It is carried out using special sealants for wood, based on acrylic and silicone. A warm seam reliably protects your log house from blowing, and if it is also made inside, it significantly increases the heat capacity of the house. You can even apply a warm seam to already painted houses, having previously prepared the junction.

A warm seam and sealing cracks perfectly solve the problem of warming a wooden house. 100% of those who performed this procedure noted a significant increase in the heat capacity of the house and, as a result, a decrease in heating costs.

Before taking measures to insulate a wooden house, it is necessary to shoot with a thermal imager in order to understand exactly what problem areas exist on the log house. This is especially true for houses made of profiled timber. Because, often, the client applies for the insulation of everything log house, that is, he wants to perform a warm seam along all interventional joints, and thermal imaging, as a result, shows that blowing and freezing occurs only in cuts. And there is no reason to perform a warm seam everywhere, it will be enough to carry out warming measures in places of overcuts.

Therefore, in order to carry out the insulation of a wooden house, you should not rush to sew up the walls, it is easier to perform restoration (resurfacing, beautiful and reliable painting), as well as sealing. All these services are provided by our company. In the end, it all looks very aesthetically pleasing and your wooden house will not lose its chic.

During the operation of a wooden house, cracks and crevices appear in the structure, through which heat escapes, cold and drafts appear. To avoid this, it is important to properly insulate the walls. Proper insulation will reduce heating costs by 30-40%, create a comfortable and cozy atmosphere inside the house. Moss, jute and tow are considered traditional heaters, which are used for caulking logs. However, today a warm seam technology for a wooden house is popular, which involves the use of a sealant.

A warm seam is a technology that hides cracks and seams using a special sealant. Acrylic sealant for wood is safe and environmentally friendly, so it is perfect for a wooden house. The composition of the product is elastic and easily penetrates into every crack or crack. After hardening, it forms a strong and plastic film that takes any shape.

Sealant Benefits

  • The elastic composition quickly and easily fills any crack or gap;
  • Stretches and shrinks between the logs, takes the desired shape along with the shrinkage of the house;
  • Prevents the penetration of cold into the house and the formation of drafts, retains heat indoors for a long time;
  • Reduces heating and caulking costs;
  • Supports comfortable temperature and the level of humidity in the house;
  • Safe material does not violate the environmental friendliness of wood and gives natural wood"breathe";
  • The material is not afraid of moisture or dampness, so mold or rot does not form on the surface of the warm seam;
  • Retains and does not lose color over time;
  • Perfectly tolerates temperature extremes, frost and heat, exposure to ultraviolet radiation;
  • Insulation work can be carried out at any time of the year;
  • The installation process takes place without noise, dust and unpleasant odors;
  • Hides natural defects and shortcomings of a log or timber, gives the materials an aesthetic appearance;
  • Strength and reliability of materials;
  • Quick and easy installation;
  • Affordable price of materials and technology warm seam for wooden houses;
  • It is enough to make a warm seam once, while caulking the walls with jute, moss and others similar materials requires periodic repetition.

Mounting technology

Sealing a log house using a warm seam technology involves four main stages. Work can be performed only 6-12 months after the shrinkage of the log house. It is advisable to insulate the walls at an air temperature not lower than +5 - +10 degrees. In more cold weather sealant may not harden.

First of all, the surface of the walls must be prepared. To do this, clean the walls of dust and dirt. If it is not new house remove old varnish or paint. A heat-insulating polyethylene cord is laid in the gaps between the crowns and in the cracks or cracks formed. Then a sealant is applied with a layer thickness of 4-6 mm. Immediately after applying the composition, air bubbles and excess fragments of the solution are removed from the surface.

Warming starts from the lowest crown and goes along the perimeter of the house, first from the outside, and then inside, and only then move on to the next crown. The material is driven tightly, evenly and consistently. After the work has been done, the sealant is left until completely solidified and polymerized for a week.

The technology of laying hermetic seams is quite easy, so you can do the insulation of the walls of a wooden house with your own hands. It is important to follow the technology of laying and sealing interventional gaps, to choose a high-quality sealant. The durability and reliability of work, the effectiveness of a warm seam depend on the quality of the material.

Which sealant to choose

Sealants come in three types. First of all, it is a soft mass that completely fills the space of cracks and gaps. It is in convenient tubes, has a different color. Therefore, you can easily match the shade to the color of the tree. As a result, the material will look harmonious.

Liquid solution in briquettes is used for deep and large cracks or gaps. The solution is applied using a special gun. Another type of sealant is polyethylene foam in the form of a cord or bundle, which is pushed between the crowns and aligned. The material also comes in different colors.

Liquids in tubes, in turn, are also different types depending on the type of raw material. By the way, such material is suitable not only for warming the house, but also for sealing cracks or cracks in logs. In this case, the following types of sealant are distinguished:

  • Acrylic is the most common and suitable option for use in a wooden house. It is waterproof and safe composition, which is characterized by strength and durability, elasticity and increased resistance to moisture. It stretches with the shrinkage of the house and withstands any deformation. It is used for both external and internal insulation;
  • Silicone is also suitable for work inside and outside the house. Material transfers high humidity, temperature changes and cold, exposure to sunlight. It is eco-friendly and safe material, which will last a long time and also prevent the appearance of rot on the logs;
