Caring parents can make toy furniture with your own hands. Let's look at examples of how to make a wardrobe for dolls in various ways.

There are many things in the house that will turn into a full-fledged locker in just a few minutes. A shoebox in skillful mother's hands will become the basis, and shelves with doors can be easily cut from cardboard or a box lid. For a bigger doll in quality wardrobe system corrugated box can be used. They already have "doors", it remains to set the box in the desired position, glue the cardboard shelves, attach the legs. Drawers are made from a smaller box. After that, it remains only to attach the wire handles, insert the compartments into the cabinet.

Materials and tools

Various auxiliary materials are suitable for the manufacture of doll furniture:

  • cardboard;
  • boxes;
  • thick paper;
  • transparent glue "Moment" or PVA, glue gun;
  • wire;
  • plywood.

For finishing the facades will be useful:

  • acrylic paints or gouache;
  • napkins for decoupage;
  • beads;
  • colored paper;
  • fabric and braid;
  • natural material (watermelon seeds, melons, acorn caps, fruit pits)

To work, you will also need tools:

  • scissors;
  • grinding block;
  • pliers;

Corrugated cardboard

Instruments

Before you make a doll wardrobe, you need to decide on the place where it will stand. A strong but heavy cabinet made of MDF or thick plywood is not suitable for a Barbie house. To avoid injury to the child, such a wardrobe can only be placed on the floor, but cardboard furniture Perfect for a doll house.

Consider the procedure for cutting blanks from plywood and thick cardboard. To make a chiffonier, you will need to take measurements. The barbell section should be 3 cm larger than the doll's clothing. We measure the most long dress, add to this value 3 cm and 1 cm on the legs. This will be the height finished construction. Width and depth are calculated based on the space allotted for the locker, the planned number of doors, the size of plywood or cardboard scraps. When all dimensions are known, details are cut out, grooves are marked on the side walls for inserting shelves. Next, the shelves are cut out, the edges are processed from burrs with a grinding bar.

If the cardboard is not thick enough, it needs to be reinforced. In this case, all the parts must be cut out in twos, and glued together in pairs.

Assembly

After preparatory work for cutting blanks are over, you can start assembling. The frame of the product is glued from the side, upper and lower planes. Fix the design back wall. If necessary, the parts are compressed with a clamp, dried after each stage. Then the shelves are mounted. They can be glued or inserted into slots. For the second option, cuts are made in advance on the vertical walls and in the shelves themselves along the thickness of the parts. It is necessary to ensure that they are located strictly perpendicular to the walls. Further glued, inserted sliding shelves. The bar can be glued out of paper by rolling it into a thin roll or using a stick of a suitable size. Doors are glued into a small cardboard cabinet for Barbie dolls, and it is better to hang them on real hinges in a plywood product. We twist a thin strip of paper into a tight roll and fix it with glue - we got legs. They can also be replaced with plywood squares or rectangles.

Another option is an origami paper wardrobe for dolls. To make it, you need several squares of paper, detailed master class easy to watch the video.

The collection of parts is based on the principle of the puzzle

Decor

The resulting design is painted or decorated using decoupage technique with napkins, trimmed with fabric and decorated with braid, stickers or natural material. You can entrust this work to your daughter, let her develop her imagination!

Handles for doors and drawers are attached at the last moment, when the surface of the cabinet is already fully decorated. Wire and round beads look good. The wire is cut into small identical pieces, a loop is formed handle. The middle is glued with paper or wrapped with the same wire. Holes are pierced with an awl on the doors, and a handle is inserted. The ends of the wire are bent to reverse side and fixed by twisting together. The closet is ready, it remains for the daughter's doll to carefully hang her things here and start playing.

Video

You probably know that such a series of magazines "Dolls in folk costumes" is coming out - small porcelain dolls in costumes are attached to them. My mom collects them (just don't ask why :)).

Recently, even a special stand for these dolls has appeared on sale in kiosks.
Here it is:

Pay attention to the price. One and a half thousand rubles! Yes, you can buy a wardrobe for that kind of money! Little:)
I was indignant and said that we would do better. And so my husband and I decided to give my mother a gift - a stand for her dolls. And they did.

Three rectangular areas were marked on a sheet of plywood (do not pay attention to the crossed out lines, these are the torments of creativity).

While my husband cut off the platforms with a hacksaw, I transferred the picture with a smart girl to thin plywood.

And then I sawed this figure with a manual jigsaw.

Here is the finished figurine reclining on platforms made of thicker plywood. All of them are waiting for polishing and will wait soon :)

The sanded areas were varnished. The varnish is acrylic, it leaves such strange white marks when applied, but when it dries it becomes transparent. Its undoubted advantage is that it almost does not smell at all.

I circled the contours of the drawing on the figure of the girl with a burning apparatus.

Then I painted it with acrylic paints.

In the upper platform, the husband made a cut in order to glue the figurine.

At the construction market, we bought round sticks for props and even such thin planks with ornaments for the sides. Cut to required length.

Planochki glued to the sites on PVA glue

Round planochki trimmed and sanded.

Then we marked out the places where we need to attach our posts. Husband screwed them on with self-tapping screws.

When a daughter comes to her parents and asks to make furniture for her dolls, then such needlework may well become an excellent joint game and creativity.

- Contact cement;
- Some plywood;
- A wooden stick with a diameter slightly larger than or equal to the thickness of the plywood.

Shelves can be found, for example, in Ikea or take the cheapest ones from a local store, and then simply paint them in the required (white or your choice) color. The size is what you want to see the house itself. In our case, these are the minimum dimensions (so that the house can serve at the same time and bookcase, and dollhouse): 61-76 cm wide, 97-107 cm high + sufficient depth. And here we have a shoe rack. We will definitely turn the furniture upside down in order to get the floor near the house from below: so that there is a white base below, which previously served as the closed top of the shelf.

1. Assemble the shelf/organizer. Turn it upside down as needed.

2. Measure the base of the upside down cabinet-shelf. In size, put together a base frame for the house from 4 sawn boards. Find holes for dowels in the base of the shelf, mark the places for drilling in the base frame. If there are no holes, just drill them here and there. Insert the dowels into the holes in the frame, apply a thin coat of wood glue along the top edges of the frame, align the dowel holes in the shelf with the dowels, and place the shelf on the base until it stops. Hold it down.

3. From the curly plinth, cut the details of the length in depth and width of the cabinet-shelf: 2 in depth (side) and 1 in width (front). In this case, both edges of the front part must be sawn off diagonally at 45 degrees, as well as along one edge of the side parts adjacent to them: this is necessary so that the plinth strips form beautiful corners. Glue the parts in such a way that the baseboard borders the very bottom of the shelf (and not the base of the house).

4. From thin white finishing material cut strips from the bottom of the base of the house (actually from the floor) to the place where the glued curly plinth ends. You should end up with 2 strips long in the depth of the base and 1 in width. Glue the strips immediately under the baseboard around the entire perimeter of the base.

5. Measure the depth and width of the base with the finish from step 4 (the numbers will turn out to be slightly larger than the dimensions of the shelf itself). According to the data obtained, cut out 3 parts from the second, higher plinth, similarly to step 3. Glue the parts to the bottom of the base of the house. So, the foundation is ready.

6. Put the future house on its side and outline where you will cut the windows: correlate their size with the purchased sets of windows. Do not forget that the windows should be located in height between (!) Shelves. At the corners of the drawn rectangles (marks under the windows), drill a hole - with a diameter sufficient for a jigsaw blade to enter each. Insert a jigsaw, saw off rectangular parts along the drawn lines.
