New Year's candlesticks do-it-yourself master. New Year's candlesticks with their own hands. New Year's candlestick from a glass. Candles for the New Year: a decorative and useful role

Good afternoon, today we will make original New Year's candlesticks with our own hands. In this article, I have collected a lot of photos and prescribed detailed instructions and step by step mk to each version of the decorative candlestick for the New Year. I divided all candlestick crafts into groups according to the materials from which they are made. Here you will find master classes for each group.

What do we do…

  • Decorative candlesticks crafts in the form of angels.
  • New Year's mk candlestick from toilet paper rolls.
  • Candlesticks with perforation and thread on paper and cardboard.
  • Lacy candlesticks for the New Year in engineering quilling.
  • crochet candlesticks.
  • Christmas candlesticks from a plastic bottle
  • Candlesticks from tall wine glasses and goblets.
  • Candlestick jars with decorative painting and appliqué.
  • Candlesticks with floating Christmas candles.
  • Compositions with candles for the New Year.

As you can see, I decided to tightly pack this article with candlestick crafts for every taste - for children and adults. Therefore, you can find here crafts for kids and ideas for serious adult candlestick gifts for the New Year. Let's start making beautiful New Year's candles with our own hands.

Candlestick from bushings

from toilet paper.

Here is our first chic New Year's candlestick made in the shape of a star. It seems to be something factory bought in a store. And in fact it is possible do it yourself at home with kids. Such a star candlestick is made of cardboard, rolled into rolls. That is, we need to roll rolls from cardboard (or take toilet paper rolls). We'll need 7 rolls and one paper round(a disposable paper plate will do).

And now I will tell HOW TO make such a New Year's candlestick.

HOW TO MAKE SUCH A STAR CANDLESTICK with your own hands.

STEP 1 - The bottom line is that each ray of a star is a roll, which at one end flattened TOP-DOWN, and from the other end flattened LEFT-RIGHT. fix the place of flattening with a stapler or glue. As a result, we get a volumetric beam of the future star. We make such rays 6 pieces. D

STEP 2 - Next, we take a circle of paper (or a paper plate), the diameter of the circle should be such that all the rays of the star fit on it in a circle. We put them with a flat flattened side on the edge of the round (plate). Glue all the rays on the edge of the plate.

STEP 3 - Now we take 7th roll of cardboard and it must be glued to the center of the plate. To make it stick, cut the desired end of the roll into short and wide fringe- push apart the rays of the fringe built-in (into the sun-spread) - and glue it to the center of the paper round with this spread on the glue.

STEP 4 - Further take a can of gold paint(or gold acrylic paint in a jar) and cover the entire surface of the craft with gold. Paint can be bought at an auto shop, or in the construction department of the market (costs $ 3-5). Acrylic gold paint in a jar costs 3-4 dollars.

And if you want to get blurs, smudges and frozen drops on the surface of the craft, the same as in the photo - then before painting you need to apply to the craft hot glue from a glue gun and let him randomly cover the surface of the cardboard elements of the candlestick with zigzags and blots. And after hardening already paint. In the absence of hot glue, you can try the usual silicate stationery glue-snot from our Soviet childhood - it is also thick and also freezes with shiny voluminous droplets (only you have to wait a little longer for drying).

STEP 5 - Further - inside the central roll we stuff the newspaper- so that it is not empty - but do not stuff it to the brim, but leave a recess in which the candle-tablet will become. And then on this rammed newspaper inside the roll we put a CANDLE-PILL.

STEP 6 - And only decorate the rest of the surface of the round (plate) cones, balls, beads, shiny garlands and other New Year's tinsel.

As you can see simple photo- if you look at her carefully, she will tell you how to do the same with your own hands.

Christmas candlesticks

ANGELS.

We make such angels from ordinary white paper. And then we cover the entire craft with gold paint from a spray can. Spray cans of paint are sold at any hardware store or automotive supply store - they are not very expensive (about $ 3-5).

You can make such an angel craft with your children. From a paper cone. So that the craft does not catch fire from the flame of a candle, we will make this lamp without live fire, but place an ordinary New Year's luminous garland inside the cone. It will turn out a children's gift-candlestick for grandfather or grandmother - they will be happy to light it in the evenings on New Year's days for more than one year.

Candlesticks made of paper WITH SLOTS.

From an ordinary paper sheet twisted into a tube, you can make an elegant New Year's candlestick. The paper will not catch fire because the hot air from the candle freely exits into the socket of such a paper lampshade-candlestick.

And if you are afraid of fire safety- then inside such a paper roll you can put a tall glass cup and lower the candle into it.

By the way, to light a low tablet candle AT THE BOTTOM OF A HIGH glass you can use the usual spaghetti pasta. They are long and burn well - we set fire to such a spaghetti torch and calmly lower it to the candle wick at the bottom of the candlestick. Very comfortably.

Here is a master class below, which shows step by step a master class for making such candlesticks with slots - just in the New Year theme: with Christmas trees and stars.

First, cut a piece of paper with height below the height of the glass and with width, sufficient to wrap around the circumference of the glass and overlap the edges for gluing.

On a sheet of paper, draw the lines of the borders of the axial rod of the picture. At the same distance from each other.

On both sides of the drawn borders, draw the outlines of Christmas trees and stars.

We make cuts along the drawn Christmas trees, but do not reach with scissors centerlines borders.

Paper candlesticks

WITH PERFORATION.

It is possible to make not cuts, but punctures on the same roll of paper. Such a perforation can be filled with an ordinary nail - if a sheet of paper is placed on a semi-solid surface (for example, a sheet of foam plastic) and simply driven into the nail with a hammer at the points drawn in advance. So I made a candlestick with a snowflake in the photo below with my own hands.

You can wrap the glass so that the puncture marks are not visible from the outside. And make it so that the perforation was with holes different sizes. To do this, we take nails of different diameters in cross section. With thick nails we will get big holes, thinner smaller.

The main thing is to think in advance and draw with a pencil our pattern of large and small dots on the future New Year's lamp.

And it is not necessary to make only a pattern of snowflakes. You can, according to the same principle, chop the silhouette of a Christmas tree, a deer, a snowman, Santa Claus and other New Year's characters.

You can fold a paper sheet not with a round roll, but with a tetrahedral socket. And decorate each of the four faces-sides with the same white New Year's application.

The reverse side of each hole must be sealed with cigarette paper (translucent tracing paper, or oiled white paper) - that is, the material that will transmit light. Very beautiful and delicate lamps for the new year.

So that such a craft does not ignite from the flame of a candle, the top must be left without a roof. Or, instead of a candle, put an LED Christmas tree garland inside. It will turn out a beautiful candlestick-gift - and a garland and a lampshade with delicate paper carvings.

You can cut paper blanks in the shape of a house. In the same way, fix the openings of the cut windows and doors of the houses with tracing paper or oiled paper.

Christmas candlesticks

IN THE QUILLING TECHNIQUE.

You can make candle holders from paper twists made using the quilling technique. Consider how to make such a candlestick with your own hands - using the example of a blue New Year's candlestick from the photo below.

STEP 1 - To do this, colored double-sided paper is cut into narrow strips. Each strip is wound around a rod (or toothpick).

Then this twist is removed from the toothpick and placed inside a round stencil-hole on a geometric ruler - and inside the boundaries of this stencil, the twist is allowed to unwind - up to the size of the stencil hole.

STEP 2 - Next, we take out the promotion from the stencil and glue its tail to the twist barrel. We make a lot of such modules - two sizes larger and smaller (that is, we fit some to a small stencil hole, and others to a large stencil hole on a regular geometric ruler).

STEP 4 - And now we make and glue the candlestick - we take a round candle and a pill and glue small round twists on its side. Next, around this first round dance of round modules, we lay drop-shaped large twists - so that they are light in pairs, forming a heart shape.

You can give such a New Year's quilling candlestick a shape with sides. If you lay the modules on a small paper plate with raised edges, or a jar lid.

From quilling twist modules, you can come up with any designs of New Year's candlesticks. In the form of a snowflake, New Year's Christmas wreath.

And also as a simple candlestick with your own hands, you can use the usual volumetric paper snowflake. Cut out and place under the candle-tablet.

Candlesticks for the New Year

crocheted.

And here is a way to create a candlestick for those who know how to crochet. To do this, you can take any pattern of a knitted snowflake or a knitted star.

You will find many patterns of knitted snowflakes in my article.

Candlestick

from a plastic bottle.

And the most free material for a New Year's candlestick, this is an ordinary plastic bottle. We throw them away anyway, so why not turn them into Christmas lights.

Cut off the straight central part from the bottle. On one side of the pipe, cut pointed petals. And bend them to the side. Paint the lamp in a golden sparse color. Apply star stickers. Spread the edges of the petals with glue and sprinkle with silver sprinkles - you can make it yourself if you finely cut the shiny pile from a fluffy Christmas tree garland, or cut the Christmas tree rain.

You can come up with your own candlesticks from a bottle - of any shape and complement them with any decor - bright ribbon rims, snowflakes, colored glass pebbles, etc.

New Year's candlestick

from a glass jar.

The simplest candlestick from a jar is made quickly and simply with your own hands. From masking tape(which we paste over the windows for the winter) cut out the silhouette of a star, for example. Stick it on the side of the jar, and paint over the rest of the surface of the jar with gouache (white is best). So that the gouache after drying does not stick to the hands and does not stain the clothes, spray the painted jar on top with hairspray. Next, we remove our star sticker from the masking tape and get a ready-made New Year's candlestick made by ourselves.

Sticker silhouette can be perfect any - a snowman, a penguin, a snowflake, or just such a deer with branched horns.

Also, the border of our drawing can be decorated with sprinkles, for this we apply a cream along the edge of the silhouette and pour a shiny sprinkle on top of it (I described what to make it from in the previous candlestick).

You can buy gold-colored acrylic paint in stationery and circle the border of the silhouette-hole on the candlestick with a current brush. And even on the silhouette itself, make some kind of festive inscription. It turns out a bright jar-candlestick - and by the way, you can pour white beans on its bottom and drown a candle in it.

It is possible to implement the principle of a silhouette hole on a candlestick bank not with paint, but with paper. That is, cut out the desired picture on a strip of paper in advance and wrap a candlestick jar with such paper. As in the photo with the New Year's crafts below.

You can seal the entire surface of the jar with green pieces of napkin (buy green paper napkins, or green crepe paper) it is thin and well fits the smooth curves of the can.
It’s easy to use glue - on PVA glue - moreover, it’s better to forge not a small tube in stationery, but go to hardware store and buy immediately a half-liter jar of PVA - you will succeed 4 times cheaper. I do all crafts with children with such glue. It lasts for a long time and it is always fresh, and in jars it constantly dries up.

So ... we cover the jar with PVA glue and put chopped pieces of green paper on top of it - due to the fact that the pieces will overlap each other, we will get such a chipped polygonal green pattern. And then, to make all this green chaos New Year's recognition, we simply paint here and there with paint (or glue from red paper) circles of holly berries.

The same red balls of berries will decorate our next New Year's candlestick. Here we cover all the walls of the can with a scattering of snow. We make it from ordinary salt or sugar (or finely grated styrofoam)

We cover the walls of the jar with glue and roll in white sprinkles on the table. We dry it with a rope under which a green twig (for example, a spruce paw) or a green tie of a textile ribbon is inserted. And in the middle we fix a bunch of berries. It can be beads strung on wire and painted in red gouache (or nail polish). Can beads mold from plasticine and top them off with nail polish for shine and color. Or you can take large foam balls.

If you are good at drawing, you can simply draw a New Year's drawing on the side of a glass jar and you will get a smart candlestick. Inside the jar, you can put not a candle, but put a New Year's LED garland- and then the bank will sparkle with several lights at once.

You can find ideas for New Year's drawings on a jar in my article.

And the New Year-themed silhouette can be simply APPLIED on the surface of the jar - as a decorative appliqué. Such an application can be easily and quickly done at home - find suitable pictures on the Internet and cut out the necessary silhouettes from colored paper.

you also can copy directly from this screen deer silhouette. Just put a sheet of paper on the screen and circle the picture translucent on the sheet with a pencil. To reduce or enlarge the picture on the screen, simply roll the mouse wheel forward or backward, holding kropkactrl on your keyboard.

Multi-layer applications on a glass candlestick look beautiful.

You can come up with a silhouette application that will GIRL around the entire jar along its circumference.

Small details of the application can not be cut out of paper, but drawn with a black marker. The candlestick jar itself, before pasting with such an application, can be painted in blue color(foam sponge and blue gouache mixed with white).

Silhouettes can be cut out of white paper. It turns out a light and delicate decorative candlestick from a tall glass.

Christmas candlesticks

FROM GLASSES.

Also, excellent candlesticks for the New Year are obtained from glass goblets with legs.

The very capacity of the glass can be decorated inside with sprigs of evergreen shrubs (for example, fir). Instead of candles inside tall large glasses-vases, you can put Christmas garland with LED flashlights and mix the garland with Christmas toys, cones, glass beads.

Ideal candlesticks for low tablet candles and thick keg candles- These are overturned goblets. FROM the flat base of the leg serves convenient stand for stable candles.

Under the dome of an upturned glass we place New Year's decorations - these can be holly branches, silver cones, needles paws or multi-colored glass beads.

Small decor at all no need to painstakingly slip under the glass- just pour glasses into the bowl, cover with cardboard, turn the glass down with the bowl and stick out the cardboard from under it.

The stem of the glass, as well as the metal walls of the tablet candles, can be silvered or gilded with sprinkles. It's easy to do at home - smear with glue and sprinkle with glitter(if you use PVA glue, then it is easy to wash it off later hot water). Or use Polish for hair- quickly spray and quickly sprinkle with glitter, sprinkle again on top.

You can buy ready-made glitter for sprinkling nails or cut the fringe of a shiny fluffy Christmas tree garland into small cuts yourself.

Candle sides you can also decorate glitter sprinkle. To do this, sprinkle the topping on paper. CANDLES heat over gas burner and the candle, softened from the heat, is quickly rolled over the sparkling filling - the soft sticky wax absorbs the sparkles, and the candle becomes elegant and New Year's.

The color of sparkles for the candle is best matched to the color of the decorations under the dome of the glass (as in the photo below).

Under the dome of the glass, you can arrange a real piece of a New Year's fairy tale (as in the photo with candlesticks below). It's easy to do it yourself - on round piece of white cardboard(or foam) glued Christmas tree(purchased or made of paper or plasticine) - we put a snowman next to it or figurine of another New Year's character. Pour with glue, and sprinkle with white salt imitating snow. We cover this round craft with an inverted glass. It turns out a magical New Year's candlestick.

Can New Year's glasses-candlesticks paint in winter shades of paint and decorate with cones and snowflakes (paper or purchased).

In order to paint a glass at home as evenly as in the photo with candlesticks below, you need to use not a brush, but a foam rubber sponge with small pores (preferably a sponge for applying foundation). Such a sponge can convey a uniform overflow of color from light to dark.
I described a detailed master class of this process when I painted my nails in the same technique in the article Gradient manicure.

You can paint any New Year character on a glass with paints - and we will get bright candlesticks in the form of snowmen, or Santa Clauses or deer.

Or the glasses can not be turned over. And lower candles-pills into them on special brackets-hooks.

Such staples can be twisted independently at home from flexible copper or aluminum wire. Here is such a do-it-yourself work just presented in the photo below.

You can hang a candle-tablet on brackets inside a very high vessel - and then the bottom of the vessel can become a place for decorative composition(as in the photo of the New Year's candlestick below).

Christmas candlesticks

WITH FLOATING CANDLES.

Also, candles can not be hung inside the container, but lowered into the water. To do this, the shape of the candles should be cone-shaped or rounded at the bottom. This way they will float comfortably on the water.

Such floating candles can be found on sale and bought. Or do it yourself - break the candle, remove the wick from it. Put the pieces of wax in a saucepan over low heat (or in a water bath), melt the wax until liquid state. Lower the wick into a mold with a round or cone-shaped bottom - pour the wick with liquid wax - cool until the wax is completely hardened in the mold. Remove the candle from the mold, slightly heating the walls of the mold.

Or you can not mess with liquid wax. And immediately cut out the cone bottom from a solid thick candle with an ordinary knife (work as a sculptor).

Christmas compositions with candles.

You can use a wide stand as a candlestick - a dish or a vase, and put several candles at once on such a candlestick, alternating them with New Year's decorations.

In the stand, you can pour artificial snow or plain white salt, sugar, powder.

As a New Year's candlestick, you can use the usual low wooden box for seedlings. And decorate it natural material(moss, cones, spruce paws).

The body of the candlestick can be an ordinary wooden log. We drill large holes in it, where we insert tablet candles (or sections of thick candles).

And you can also bake a candlestick from edible gingerbread honey dough. That is, bake a round gingerbread with holes for tablet candles. And bake smaller gingerbread cookies for him with the shape of houses, Christmas trees, trees. Gingerbread houses are decorated with a pattern of sugar glaze, dried. We also pour a large gingerbread candlestick with sweet sugar icing and put gingerbread houses on the sticky icing.

Gingerbread dough is different in that it does not get stale for a long time, and such a sweet candlestick gift can be devoured by the whole family after the New Year holidays have died down.

The Right Recipe gingerbread dough you can find in the article about gingerbread houses.

These are the ideas with New Year's candlesticks you can now do with your own hands. It's nice when you can create a piece of the New Year holiday around yourself.

Connect the kids- they will be very pleased to help you in such a serious matter as the New Year. Children should create crafts with their own hands - this is a prerequisite for the development of a personality confident in their strengths and abilities. Children should have an EVIDENCE BASE of their omnipotence and success. Let the children make sure in practice that they CAN make such beautiful and complex crafts themselves. Let them grow, realizing themselves as CREATORS of this world. And then one day you can be proud of their ADULTS achievements.

Happy New Year to you. May happiness enter your family. The magic of happiness, made by hand. And let the light of the candles give its radiance to your eyes.

Candlestick from a jar

The easiest option for the basis for a New Year's candlestick is a bank. We eat jam or canned food from the inside, decorate the jar to your taste. Ropes, threads, lace, beads, buttons, cones, twigs, cinnamon sticks, star anise stars, decorative figurines. Everything that is in the house of every needlewoman is useful for a New Year's candlestick from a jar.

houses

Little houses are perhaps the cutest of all candlesticks. Light diffuses through the windows, creating an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. When choosing a candlestick-house, pay attention to the holes in it. There should be enough space and air inside so that the candle burns and does not go out. A plywood house should be either high or without a roof. The ceramic house heats up very well, so you can drip a little on its roof essential oil with your favorite scent.

Polymer clay candlestick

Similar houses or such cute cones and pyramids can be made from polymer clay. Sold in departments for creativity and art stores. We sculpt like from plasticine, bake in the oven, paint. Monochromatic products are easier to immediately sculpt from clay desired color, as oil paints dry for a long time, and acrylic ones are not suitable for everyone. (Consult sellers)

Flashlights

Traditional candle lanterns on New Year's Eve can be supplemented with a composition of fir branches, red rowan, textile and plastic Christmas decorations. And it can also be painted with acrylic on glass from an art store. Even a child can draw very simple snowflakes and stars. New Year's motifs are more complicated - deer, bells, snowmen, Santa Claus ... Everything is limited only by your imagination.

Knitted decor

Cold winter is the time for hot mulled wine, knitted sweaters and cozy blankets. But what if the candles are alive and can also freeze? You can knit cute little button cases for them and dress up hemp candles to match the season. Looks nice, but flammable. Therefore, watch the candles while they are burning, or put knitted covers on the glasses, and put candles in them already.

Christmas slides

Christmas slide or "candlestick" - traditional Christmas decoration in Scandinavian countries. There it is placed on the windowsill and pleases people with its appearance not only in the house, but also from the side of the street. Most often, the menorah is made of wood or plastic, in white or red. The Christmas slide is good in terms of safety, because the candles here are artificial, and it all works from an outlet.

wreaths

The Lutheran theologian Wiehern took on the upbringing of children from poor families. In order to make it easy for children to count down the time until Christmas, Wiehern, taking an old wheel as a basis, made a wreath that he decorated with 19 red small and 4 large white candles. Every morning, one small red candle was lit in the wreath, and on Sundays a large white one was added to them.
It is easy to make a wreath of cones. They themselves cling to each other, for the strength of the composition, use transparent superglue. Will have to walk through coniferous forest in search of material Fresh air good for health, and a wreath of cones will successfully fit into interiors in scandi and ethno styles.

You can also make a table wreath with candles with your own hands. For this you will need:

thick paper, thin cardboard, or fabric. Rough linen or burlap

    glue, optional rope

grass substitute (green mesh from a flower shop) or fir branches. real or artificial

dried flowers, cones, spices, nuts, twigs, flowers, dried fruits, beads and bows. We collect everything with which we want to decorate the wreath, harmoniously place it on the workpiece, glue it. Don't forget to leave room for candles.

New Year's bouquets

The secrets of creation New Year's bouquets shared the author of these works florist Ksenia Isaeva.

Compositions of real spruce branches, cones and dried flowers are created on the basis of a vase or pot, inside of which a special piaflor material is placed. Due to its antibacterial properties, plants are less prone to decay. Piaflor or floral sponge retains moisture and keeps bouquets fresh for a long time. While the spruce branches are fresh, they can be shaped and secured with wire. Toys and others decorative elements attached with glue.

You can try to make New Year's bouquets with your own hands or entrust the work to professionals from flower shops.

Glasses and vases

Setting the table and compiling a festive menu is an important part of preparing for the holiday of those who celebrate the New Year at home. It has been noticed that there are never many tangerines, napkins and glasses for drinks. The latter can also be used as candlesticks. There are three main options:

glue the outside of the glass with plants, paper or foil appliqué

put cones, stones, small toys inside

pour water into a glass with a spruce branch inside and put a floating candle on top

We believe that a cool interior in an apartment is not necessarily about " Fashionable style» and dear designer furniture. What matters is how much time you spend decorating your home. Pleasant little things made with your own hands will fill the house with warmth and comfort. For example, beautiful or cute New Year's candlesticks.

New Year's candles are an essential attribute of the festive atmosphere. But to make the candles look more spectacular, you need to pick them up beautiful candlesticks. Of course, you can buy them, but the most interesting thing is to make them.

New Year's candlesticks can be very simple: you just need to take a flat saucer, put candles on it, and put various decorations on the saucer itself between the candles. Make it simple but beautiful christmas composition. There are a lot of options for decorations: spruce branches, small Christmas balls, tangerines, cones and other New Year's paraphernalia - it all depends on your desire and imagination. The main condition in such compositions: candles must be stable enough and not fall without additional support!

Today I will show you how to make tall Christmas candlestick for a large Christmas candle.

You will need:

  • strong wire (I use a regular steel hanger),
  • medium strength wire with a diameter of 3 mm,
  • pliers,
  • pliers (optional - for convenience),
  • any small jar
  • building gypsum (alabaster),
  • a couple of decorative Christmas twigs,
  • red satin ribbons 1 cm and 2.5 cm wide,
  • a few pine cones
  • hot glue gun,
  • scissors,
  • big candle.

And so, let's get started ....

With the help of pliers and round-nose pliers, we bend a strong wire, as shown in the photo. From the top in the center, you need to leave an even tail of the wire on which the candle will be fixed.

You can bend in different ways, fantasize!

Dilute gypsum with cool water to the consistency of thick sour cream, pour into any suitable container. We set the base of our future candlestick in the center and wait for the gypsum to completely harden.

We cut off a couple of pieces of wire of medium strength, one is longer, by about 15 cm. But here you need to try it on, it all depends on how the base is bent.

In an even state, carefully wrap the wire satin ribbon red color 1 cm wide.

Let's make these curls ...

Attach the curls with hot glue to the base.

We hide all the wire, except for the tail for attaching the candle, with a red satin ribbon. Fix in place with hot glue.

From a ribbon 2.5 cm wide we will make a neat bow.

The base of the candlestick is ready, only a little remains ...

Need to share New Year's twigs into parts, we will decorate the top and bottom of our candlestick with them. We fix everything with hot glue.

Almost done…

You can install a candle.

You can decorate such a candlestick in different ways. Just make sure that the candle stood straight, otherwise the paraffin will drip onto the jewelry, and you will have to clean it afterwards.

These candlesticks can be given any shape and decorated as you like. As you can see to do DIY Christmas candlesticks, no rare materials or special skills are needed. Everything is quite simple, and the result is very effective!

I was glad to help!

room. Warm lights, mysteriously flickering through the tinsel and making it shimmer bright decorations as if taking us to fairy tale and create a festive atmosphere.

Most often, candles are placed in candlesticks, candelabra or on special stands. Of course, you can buy these holiday attributes in any store. However, it is much more pleasant to make New Year's candlesticks with your own hands, bringing a piece of warmth to the work. If you have children, then they will be happy to join this simple process, especially since many options for making New Year's accessories will not take much time and will not require special skills from you.

materials

You can make New Year's candlesticks with your own hands from almost everything: from glass, wood, cans and bottles, various containers, paper, cardboard, textiles, wire ... The only condition is that they should look festive and elegant, and at the same time be sufficiently stable and fireproof .

For the decoration of products, you can take spruce branches and cones, sequins, braid, bows, beads, rhinestones, foil, tinsel, miniature figurines of animals and fairy-tale characters. In general, everything that your imagination can beat.

From the tools you will definitely need scissors, a pencil or pen, pins, needles and threads, glue. Rest auxiliary materials are selected in advance in accordance with the guide according to which you decided to make the decoration.

Below are a few ways to make a New Year's candlestick. Each of them is original in its own way, and the material for at least a couple of species from this list can be found in every home.

Glass candlesticks

Making coasters from glasses or glasses is perhaps the easiest way. We have the base, so now we just need to decorate it beautifully.

First option. Wrap the main part of the wine glass with lace and carefully seal its ends. If it seems to you that the decor turned out to be rustic, you can attach bows or beads to the resulting canvas.

New Year's candlestick from a glass, made in the second way, is more interesting, but the work will also take a little longer. You will need a large glass, cardboard, glass glue, artificial snow or cotton wool, tiny figurines for filling (houses, Christmas trees, birds, Santa Claus with the Snow Maiden, etc.).

First circle the glass, placing its edge on the cardboard, and cut out a circle. Then pour artificial snow into the glass, and if it is cotton wool, glue it on a cardboard circle. Attach one or two of the selected figures over the cotton wool, coat the edge with glue, turn it upside down, and carefully placing the figures in the main part of the glass, gently press the edges of the cardboard to the glass edge. Wait for it to dry. Now the glass can be carefully turned over. If bulk snow was used, lightly shake the glass to even out the material. And you can place a candle on the leg, having previously dripped wax on the base.

The third option is a little more complicated. It is performed using the decoupage technique, that is, by transferring a pattern from paper to a glass (in our case) surface. First, the glass is washed, covered with acrylic paint and left to dry completely. According to the size of the glass, the pattern you like is selected and cut out. It is best to take pictures on thin paper, for example, on napkins. Attach the drawing to the glass and apply a layer of PVA glue diluted with water about 1 to 2 on top. Wait for it to dry and cover the result with a transparent acrylic varnish. For decoration, you can use glitter nail polish and artificial snow.

Candlesticks from cans

Even such a seemingly ordinary thing as a simple glass jar, can be used to make a New Year's candlestick. The master class will require the mandatory presence of large table salt and PVA glue.

Thickly coat the jar with glue and let it dry slightly. After it stops dripping, start sprinkling the container with salt.

Our task is to ensure that the salt is evenly distributed over the entire surface without gaps. In principle, the New Year's candlestick from the jar is ready - it remains only to wait until it is completely dry, and in the meantime, choose the decor appropriate for the occasion.

bottle candlesticks

Bottles can be decorated in two ways:

  1. Decorate the main part of the container with decoupage, “dressing up” it in a decorated fabric or organza bag, or simply paint acrylic paints and sequins. Then place a candle of a suitable diameter in the neck. Melting, it will flow with beautiful streaks of wax, which looks great.
  2. The second option is much more complicated, as it involves removing the bottom of the bottle. To do this, you can use a glass cutter or twine soaked in a combustible composition. Wrap it around the bottle and set it on fire. When the container is warm enough, drop it sharply into cold water, and the bottom will easily separate from the main part. Idea 1. Candlestick made of wooden cuts

A saw cut of a tree is an almost ready-made candlestick, beautiful, environmentally friendly and versatile. It will be appropriate in or interior design all year round, including New Year's holidays.

How to do it: You can make your own saw cuts, but it's faster and easier to buy ready-made saw cuts, which are sold in many online stores and craft stores. "Ready" saw cuts are good because they do not have splits and cracks, they are properly dried and can already be sanded. You can pick up saw cuts of different diameters, heights, different varieties wood and make a whole set of candlesticks. You can make a cell for a candle in a saw cut using a drill with a forstner drill (about 150 rubles) or another drill that can make a blind round hole of the diameter you need (for example, it can be a “ballerina”, a wood crown, a spiral or drill bit, etc.).

Idea 2. Wooden block candlestick

And here is another idea for making a candlestick out of wood with your own hands, however, this time from a bar. However, you can replace the bar with a dried log or a board of a suitable size.

How to make it: To make a large wooden candlestick with your own hands, you will need:

  • Dry planed or unplaned wooden block(preferably wider so that the candlestick is stable). In this master class, a 100 × 100 mm bar was used.
  • A drill and a Forstner drill of a suitable diameter (for your candles) or any other drill that can cut a blind round hole of a small depth of 0.5-1 cm or more. A drill with a diameter of 50 mm was used here.
  • Square.
  • Roulette.
  • Pencil.
  • A hammer.
  • Stain of the desired color, rags or brush.
  • Rubber gloves.

Step 1. First of all, you need to cut a piece of the desired length from the bar with a saw or jigsaw. In this project, the candlestick was made to decorate big table, so it has a length of 90 cm. Consider how many candles your candlestick will hold, and how much spacing there will be between them. Then mark the cut line, cut the bar and lightly sand its end sandpaper.

Step 2. Next, you need to draw markings on the bar for placing candles. To do this, first determine the length of the indents from the edges of the candlestick (in this MK there are indents of 7 cm), then simply place the candles on the bar with equal intervals, circle them and mark the center of each circle with a dot.

Step 3. Cut with a drill and a Forstner drill blind round holes small depth. Do not worry if the edges of the cells turn out to be rough, for our rustic candlestick this is only a plus.

Step 4. Give the tree an aged and sloppy look by tapping the ends of the candlestick with a hammer. You can make dents in only a few places or on all visible sides of the bar.

Step 5. Now you need to give the tree color, while maintaining the visibility of its pattern and beautiful texture. To do this, simply rub the stain with a soft cloth into the surface of the product in one layer, and then let it dry.

Here's what you should get.

Idea 3. Candlestick from a bottle

Glass bottles make not only elegant or vintage candlesticks, but also caps. Here are some ideas that you might like and that are very easy to implement.

Such candlesticks, made by hand from cut bottles, can be beautifully packaged and presented to loved ones.

How to do it: There is nothing easier than making a candlestick from a bottle with your own hands as in the photo above, because for this you just need to cut it and fill it with wax with a wick, or just put a small candle. crop glass bottle possible in two ways.

  • Method 1: Soak a thick cotton thread in alcohol (eg nail polish remover), then wrap it around the bottle. Light the thread with care and immediately begin to rotate the bottle around its axis so that the fire spreads along the entire length of the thread. Now immerse the bottle in boiling water for 3 minutes, and then immediately transfer it to a container with cold water. Due to a sharp temperature drop, the glass will crack where the burning thread was tied. True, if the glass is too thick, for example, like a bottle of champagne, then the procedure will have to be repeated 2-3 times.
  • Method 2: If you have a glass cutter or glass drill, then you can use them. Wrap the bottle with a hair tie, and then draw a line along its contour with a glass cutter. Burn the cut line, immerse the bottle in boiling water for 3 minutes, and then quickly transfer it to cold water.

When the bottle breaks, sand the sharp edge first with coarse sandpaper and then with fine grit.
