and the whole house. Properly selected and installed ventilation elements for residential and non-residential premises, plumbing units and under-roof space - a guarantee of comfort, healthy atmosphere and durability of your home.

In this article, we will describe in detail which ventilation elements are presented in our assortment, in what cases they are used and what tasks they solve.

AT roof structures moisture is always present: insulation and roof structure absorb it during the construction of the house; condensation forms on the bottom surface of the roofing material; while living in the house, moisture evaporates in the form of water vapor and enters the insulation and wooden structures; at heavy rain or snow and crosswinds, a small amount of water can get under the roofing material.

For moisture wicking and ventilation roofing system install ventilation elements. Their absence or ineffective work leads to the following consequences:

accumulation of moisture, the formation of condensate on the rafters and substructures, and subsequently mold and fungus that destroy wooden elements;

corrosion metal structures, destruction of brick and concrete parts;

Formation of frost on the roofing material and, as a result, damage to the roof and drainage system, the penetration of melt water under the roofing during thaws;

moistening of thermal insulation, leading to a sharp decrease in its efficiency and an increase in the cost of heating a house;

Overheating of the roofing material summer period(this is especially detrimental to bituminous coatings) and the interior of the attic;

Increase in air conditioning costs.

Under-roof space ventilation elements connect the under-roof space with outside air. Operating principle roof ventilation based on the use of differential pressure and air currents. Efficient ventilation requires air flow at the lowest point of the roof, that is, on the roof eaves, and roof fans ensure that this air is released into top point, for example, at the ridge or at the junction of the slopes to the walls, and effectively remove moisture.

Constant ventilation of the insulated roof structure is necessary condition long-term and reliable service of the entire building. The value of ventilation is difficult to overestimate - thanks to air flows, air is removed from the structure excess moisture eliminates the likelihood of mold and fungus, destruction wooden elements roofing and insulation.

The choice of a roof fan depends on the type of roofing material; it can be installed both on a roof slope and on a ridge. In addition to ventilation of the under-roof space, roof fans are used for ventilation of attic spaces. Required amount valves depends on the design of the roof.

Maintaining tightness is an important task that needs to be solved when bringing natural or forced ventilation and other elements.

Pass-through elements provide a hermetic passage through the roof, vertical installation pipes on the slope and the performance of the ventilation system of internal premises, sewer risers, antennas and other elements. Pass-through elements are selected according to the diameter of the element brought to the roof and are mounted on almost any roof. Installation is quick and easy, without the use of sealing tapes, the service life of which can be significantly less time service roofing material, which further leads to leaks.

For hermetically leading cables and pipes of small diameters to the roof, e.g. inlet and outlet pipes solar battery, you can use SOLAR feed-through elements.

During the first years after construction, there is an active release of particles from building materials that accumulate in the air. Human activities and domestic animals also degrade air quality. Not removed from the premises contaminated and wet air penetrates into structures, causing the growth of fungi and mold, affects the well-being of a person.

To prevent this from happening, the house must "breathe", creating favorable conditions for the people who live in it. In accordance with sanitary standards, the air in the house must be completely replaced every two hours. This can only be achieved with the help of properly calculated and executed ventilation of the premises. The house must have an inflow fresh air, which is organized only in living and sleeping rooms. From these rooms do not make a hood. Ventilation allows you to direct the air flow in the house so that the air from living and sleeping rooms flows into rooms with polluted and damp air and is removed from there. With such an organization, the air of the toilet, kitchen, bathroom, storerooms will not spread to the living rooms. To do this, exhaust valves are installed in the ceiling or walls of rooms with damp and dirty air and, with the help of air ducts, lead to the roof, where ventilation pipes with passage elements are installed.

The kitchen hood from the stove is displayed separately on the roof. It is not recommended to discharge it into a common duct, as grease contaminates the ducts, and unpleasant odors can spread throughout the living quarters.

Ventilation of rooms with gas equipment required according to the current building requirements SP 42-101-2003. The air from the boiler room is discharged to the roof separately using ventilation pipes with an internal diameter of 160 mm.

To avoid the appearance unpleasant odors, destruction of the sewer system due to the gases formed in the sewer, and the normal operation of the water seal, sewer risers must have a ventilation outlet to the roof. It equalizes the pressure in the system at the time of draining and removes the gases that destroy the pipes.

For sewer risers, it is recommended to use ventilation pipes with an internal diameter of 110 mm, which are thermally insulated and non-insulated. Uninsulated pipes are recommended for ventilation of sewer risers in regions with a mild climate. Thermally insulated ventilation pipes are recommended for ventilation of sewer risers in regions with a long frosty period. In an insulated pipe, no ice plug is formed that disrupts the ventilation of the riser. The ventilation pipe is connected to sewer riser via corrugated pipe 110 mm in diameter.

Forced ventilation performs the same functions as ventilation pipes, but much more efficiently.

Proper ventilation of the house involves the creation of low pressure in the house in relation to environment. In this case, the walls and ceilings receive fresh air, and the structures are ventilated and dried - fungus and mold do not start in the walls.

Reduced pressure in the house is effectively achieved by forced ventilation.

Rubber seals and gates for pipes provide a hermetic output to the roof of antenna rods, pipes, cables, etc.

Seals available in several sizes various diameters pipes, there are one-piece and detachable. The latter are used to seal the joints of finished objects that cannot be sealed with one-piece seals. The flexible EPDM rubber seal allows for thermal and mechanical fluctuations, sealing the opening in the roof.

EPDM rubber is resistant to weather conditions and ultraviolet, well tolerates the effects of acids and alkalis contained in the air of industrial areas. Seals are installed directly on the roofing.

gate consist of an EPDM rubber seal in the upper part of the element and a plastic gate in the lower part, which is installed on standard passage elements, selected depending on the type of roofing material.

Pass-through elements PIIPPU are designed for hermetic output of round metal heat-insulated chimneys to the roof. The product is produced with a diameter of 200-265 mm or 280-380 mm, and can be installed on roofs made of metal tiles, flexible and natural tiles, suitable for seam roofing.

The PIIPPU feedthrough has passed fire tests in the Finnish VTT laboratory and has fire certificates.

7. Roof deflectors

Roof deflectors have the same purpose as roof fans - ventilation of the under-roof space and attic space. The installation of roof deflectors is recommended on roofs with a low pitch angle or in regions with large quantity snowfall, that is, in cases where the correct functioning of the roof fans is not possible. Deflectors are installed on roofs made of bituminous materials on the ridge of the roof or on the slope.

Moisture always accumulates in the basement of buildings, causing harm building structures. The most efficient air circulation in the basement of the building is achieved with the simultaneous use of forced roof ventilation for the exhaust and the basement deflector as supply pipe. The forced fan is connected to plastic pipe, which is displayed in the basement.

Plinth ventilation can also be carried out in the system natural ventilation by installing an insulated ventilation pipe instead of a forced fan on the roof.

It is possible to ventilate the basement space using only basement deflectors.

For correct operation the ventilation system in the house must ensure the flow of air into the premises. For this, ventilation grilles or supply valves are used.

Supply valves provide filtration and supply of fresh air to the premises. The valve is equipped with a thermostat that is sensitive to temperature fluctuations. The air flow changes automatically depending on the change in the outside air temperature. The thermostat setting can be changed as needed. The valve has a filter that traps dust, pollen and the most dangerous mineral microparticles.

The roof hatch is a technical and fire hatch, used for access to the under-roof space or to the attic.

The ventilation system, as you know, is an integral part of almost any building, be it residential, industrial or utility buildings. Thanks to good ventilation, the air in the premises of the building will be able to circulate, in a normal rhythm, which, of course, is a very important factor. But in order to mount a good ventilation system, it is necessary to equip the node of the passage through the roof.

There are a lot of options for its arrangement, since the installation method depends, first of all, on the type of roofing device. Each roof has its own individual design features, therefore, the roofing passage unit has many construction schemes in accordance with the type of roof.

The need for arranging passage nodes

The main purpose of the roof passage elements is the removal of polluted and exhaust air. The design of such elements is carried out in accordance with GOST 15150, where the distances from the passage node to the edge of the slab are precisely determined, as well as the diameters of the holes that are located in the floor slabs. It is possible to equip passage nodes not only for, but also for chimney systems in those structures that are equipped with a fireplace or furnace heating. This method of device is sometimes referred to as roof penetration.

Based on the type of roof structure and the ventilation intended for it, the air duct passage through the roof may have the following forms:

  • square;
  • round;
  • oval;
  • rectangular, etc.

In their appearance, the nodes resemble holes made in the ceilings. Metal pipes are carried into these holes, which are mounted on the roof or on reinforced concrete cups. The thickness of the material used should not be less than 1 mm. Manufacturers produce ventilation units of various sizes, this applies to both their length and thickness. The type of ventilation system that serves as the connection point for the pipe can be either natural or forced.

Before finally making a decision in favor of one or another type, you should focus on such factors that can affect the choice, such as:

  • humidity indicators;
  • gas contamination coefficient;
  • the lowest and highest air temperature inside the structure;
  • dust coefficient, etc.

The passage element for the roof is mounted using special reinforced concrete systems by fixing them to anchor bolts, which, in turn, are installed in the glasses during their construction.

The entire installation process depends on the following criteria:

  • the angle of inclination of the roof slope;
  • interval from penetration to roofing ridge;
  • roofing thickness;
  • the area that the space under the roof has.

In the event that the basis of the floor is reinforced concrete, then at the location it is necessary to use special slabs equipped with ready-made holes. If the diameter of this hole does not match the integrity of the slab, then places made of concrete in the form of a monolith are mounted in the installation area of the penetration.

In this case, the passage through the roof with a light metal frame will be the same, but the glasses must be made of metal. A large area building, which carries the functions of residential, industrial or civil purposes, requires the calculation of the location of the roof passage units at the design stage.

Installation of ventilation, in detail on the video:

Installation of a pass-through unit for a chimney

Most often, the chimney pass-through device is carried out at the shortest distance from the roof ridge. With this installation option, the main part of the chimney pipe should be located under the base of the roof, which will protect the structure from condensation. However, there is another installation option, in which the installation of pipes is carried out through the roof ridge.

Arranging a chimney on a roof slope is fraught with the formation of a pocket of snow in the upper part of the pipe, which can cause leakage. Therefore, it is very important to use sealants for roof passages, as well as to design truss system which may lead to certain difficulties. However, it has its advantages, in particular - ease of installation and no risk of leakage.

It is also impossible to bypass fire-fighting measures by arranging passage nodes chimney through a wooden covering, as well as a roof, which should be protected from potential fire due to overheating of the pipe.

The chimney itself is recommended to be equipped with special umbrellas to prevent moisture and wind from entering it. The passage assembly should not be mounted in the valley area, since there is a possibility of poor sealing of roof joints and pipe apron. In addition, this area is particularly prone to the formation of ice and snow pockets on it.

Pitched roof requires a device wooden system rafters, which, as it becomes clear, has a maximum degree of combustion. That is why it is necessary to equip all the gaps between the pipe and wooden elements in accordance with building codes and rules (SNiP). To prevent contact of the heated pipe with combustible materials, a special design should be used. Usually for this necessary place a passage node in the form of a rectangle is mounted. In appearance, it resembles a box filled with glass wool or any other non-combustible material.

Roof penetration options

Today, manufacturers make the passage nodes of the most different types:

  • equipped with a valve;
  • without valves;
  • equipped with a heater;
  • without insulation;
  • equipped with technology that controls the opening and closing of valves.

Units that have manual control in their design are usually used where there is no need to regularly use multiple ventilation modes.

The manual assembly includes:

  • tailor's cloth;
  • counterweight;
  • cable;
  • management sector.

A special mechanism helps to control the valve, which regulates the position of the valve through two basic commands- "open" and "closed". To create penetrations for the roof, manufacturers use a black sheet of metal, the thickness of which does not exceed 2 millimeters, as well as a sheet of of stainless steel having a thickness of 0.5 to 0.8 mm.

The production of a passage unit can also be carried out on the basis of galvanized steel along with a heater, which is most often represented by a layer mineral wool 50 millimeters thick. This option involves a device in the system of umbrellas or deflectors treated with zinc. When installed on a fan assembly, it internal organization can be represented by perforated steel and equipped with electrically conductive plastic tubes. With this method of installation, the passage assembly will also perform a soundproof function.

A roof vent is the end element of a vent or aerator system through which a pipe exits. Products ensure the tightness of the junction of communications with the roof, and also provide an aesthetic appearance node. The so-called fungi protect the ventilation system from precipitation and wind blowing.

The need to pass ventilation pipes through the roof is due to the fact that it is this method that allows you to create natural draft in the system. The location of the output at a height will ensure the creation of a comfortable atmosphere in the room, accelerate the removal of waterlogged and polluted air from the kitchen, bathroom or workshop.

The most important advantage of hood fungi is that they eliminate the need for a bulky brick riser. Hermetic outlet allows pipes to be laid by any convenient way. The use of such a design is much cheaper, less time and money are spent on its installation, turnkey solution does not spoil the appearance of the roof and does not require any maintenance.

The design of the fungus includes not only the visible part, but also a system of passage and sealing elements, as well as pipes (for individual models). For some products, you can pick up an adapter for use as. In general, the design features of such elements depend on the type of coating on which the installation will be performed.
