Assembling the shower cabin of the villagio. Installation and installation of a shower cabin - instructions. Assembling the side and center panels of the shower enclosure

Just ten or fifteen years ago, a shower stall was a luxury item. But now everything more people getting rid of old overall bathtubs and installing showers instead.

This allows you to increase the free space, which is usually not enough in city apartments. The current range of such booths is quite wide, but correct selection this or that model is not enough - it still needs to be installed and connected to communications. You will learn about this and much more after reading this article.

Note! Installation work is not as difficult as it might seem. But to avoid possible problems you must first decide on the main types of booths.

The shower cubicle is a closed box for carrying out hygiene procedures. There are many models, but all of them can be divided into two large groups.

1. Open

The space of open booths is limited only by the walls of the box and the bathroom. Similar designs are also called shower enclosures.

Such models are expensive, but installation is carried out quickly and without any problems (taking into account the fact that leveling and waterproofing of the floor and walls will be required).

Note! In most cases, shower enclosures are placed in small apartments where the installation of a full-size shower is not possible due to the lack of free space. But if the area of \u200b\u200bthe bathroom is too small, then the corner should be selected with a transparent door that opens inward.

2. Closed

AT closed cabins besides the walls there is also a bottom and a "ceiling". Simply put, they are closed comprehensively. Such booths can be of various sizes, but usually it is from 0.7x0.7 m to 2x2.1 m. They are also divided into simple and multifunctional, while the latter provide a number of additional options:

  • aromatherapy;
  • hydromassage;
  • "Summer shower;
  • color treatment;
  • "sauna";
  • radio.

The installation and connection of the shower is quite easy to handle, you just need to follow the manufacturer's instructions and make every effort to work.

Stage 1. Choosing a place for installation

Place for installation shower enclosure must meet two requirements:

Stage 2. Assembly

Installation begins with the assembly of the structure, which will help to deal with all the nuances of the connection and determine its actual dimensions.

Note! Regarding the assembly technology, we will not advise anything here, since everything depends on design features specific model. As mentioned earlier, only the manufacturer's instructions can help with this.

Stage 3. Connecting to the sewerage system

Connection should begin with the installation of the pallet. The following are guidelines for this procedure.

  1. The pallet should be installed strictly horizontally, so it is better to use a long building level in the work.
  2. Included with the cabin are always special supports, with which the horizontality of the pallet is adjusted. If desired, you can fix an additional support in the center.
  3. The pallet must be perpendicular to the wall.
  4. In this case, the floor must be perfectly flat (the same level is used). If this is not achieved, then the pallet will not adhere tightly enough to the walls and, as a result, a leak will occur.

After assembling the pallet, the actual connection begins. Here is the sequence of actions.

Step 1. All elements of the apron are removed.

Step 2. Part of the pallet rises.

Step 3. A corrugated hose is put on the drain elbow located at the bottom of the pallet (a special side nipple is provided for fastening). This hose will connect the cabin to the sewer.

Step 4. The second end of the hose is fixed on the drain located in the floor.

Step 5. The pallet is put in place.

Note! Ultimately quality installation can only be achieved if the floor in the room is perfectly flat, and the walls are at an angle of 90ᵒ.

Before the start of the assembly of the structure, a “test” drain is carried out. It is much easier to correct any mistakes before the installation of the shower enclosure is completed.

Stage 4. Water supply

Proper connection of the cabin to the water supply system plays at least important role. To do this, you need to use only high-quality pipes and connecting fittings. Moreover, all connections should be carefully sealed.

Connection Requirements

  1. The pipeline is laid along the plinth or hidden altogether.
  2. Water to the shower is removed from under the sink.
  3. At least one water filter cuts into the pipeline.

Step-by-step instruction

Step 1. First, the water supply is shut off, then hot / cold water taps are opened in the bathroom - this will reduce the pressure in the system to the required level.

Step 2. The old shower is removed - for this, all fasteners are loosened with pliers and dismantled.

Step 3 Using the same pliers, the old clutch is unscrewed. Each section of the pipeline is equipped with compression fittings.

Step 4 Fittings are coated with grease (preferably machine oil). Cabin adapters are screwed in and tightened with pliers.

Step 5 In accordance with the instructions, the anchors are attached, if necessary, the holes are made a little larger. Then the screws are screwed in.

Note! It is advisable to trim the mounting location masking tape, otherwise there is a chance of damaging the tile during operation.

Step 6. The hoses are connected to the transition fittings, the connections are clamped.

Step 7. The shower panel clings to the anchors. Mounting starts from the top. Water pipes are attached to the outer part of the panel, decorative plates are installed.

Step 8. System performance is checked. The water supply is resumed at the riser, all connections are checked for tightness. Only after that the handle is attached.

It remains only to fix the walls. This must be done in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, using silicone sealant and sealing gaskets.

Final touches

At the end of the assembly, it is necessary to carry out a number of activities related to the final arrangement of the shower stall.

1. Electricity

Only those models that have a hydromassage function or have a steam generator. An insulated three-core wire with a cross section of 3 cm² is used.

2. Ceiling panel

Usually the ceiling comes with a booth. In this case, a hose with a watering can and other components are connected to the ceiling - a speaker, lamps and everything that is provided by the manufacturer. The joints formed between the speaker and the panel are treated with sealant to avoid "humming".

The ceiling is installed on the appropriate fasteners located in the upper part of the structure. Joints in this case are also treated with sealant.

3. Fittings

Step 1. Rollers are installed at the top and bottom of the doorway. The rollers located on top turn out as much as possible even before installation.

Step 2. The door is trimmed around the perimeter with sealing material and put in place.

Step 3. To determine the optimal position, the upper rollers are adjusted.

Step 4. The screws that secure the rollers are closed with decorative caps.

Step 5. The rest of the fittings are installed - a mirror, handles, etc.

Upon completion of installation, final testing is carried out. As mentioned above, all connections are made tight, and the pallet should not creak during operation (otherwise, the position of the legs under it is adjusted again).

Operation and cleaning of the shower

For all models, regardless of the type, the operating rules are the same. Only means for washing differ - the choice of one or another of them depends on the material from which a particular structural element is made.

When operating, you need to remember some requirements.

It is also worth noting that the cleaning of the booth is divided into several types according to the frequency.

All possible options can be divided according to the shape of the cabin, the materials from which they are made, and other criteria, however, the main classification parameter is how the do-it-yourself installation of the shower cabin is carried out relative to the rest of the bathroom space.

closed models are a separate closed space, limited on the sides by their own walls. Closed showers, in addition to the walls, have a top cover, a tray, a door and a shower head. Additional equipment is also possible - from a water heater to a built-in radio receiver, which are installed at the request of the user.

walls open booths protruding bathroom walls. Own equipment of such models includes:

  • pallet,
  • doors,
  • watering can shower.

Open showers are most often mounted in a corner in the bathroom, less often - end-to-end with only one of the walls of the room.

Additional equipment for shower cabins open type also possible.

Elements of a standard complete set of shower cabins

Trays are needed to collect water. In addition, it is from them that wastewater is discharged into sewer system. The shape of the pallets are rectangular or angular.

When choosing a shower tray, pay attention to its depth.

  • Tall trays form a mini-tub in which you can sit and draw water into it.
  • Most low pallets called flat. They are compact, but require a special water drain installation scheme.
  • Pallets of medium depth can be considered universal.

Different models of pallets also differ in material. Most often there are acrylic products, but you can also find cast iron, steel or ceramic options.

Walls and doors ensure the tightness of the space and prevent water from entering outside the shower. The material for the manufacture of such structures can be plastic, organic or impact-resistant glass (frosted, tinted), aluminum.

AT standard equipment also includes:

  • back panel,
  • pallet and its apron,
  • racks and guides
  • roof.

Tools and materials for work

Assembling a shower stall won't be too much for you hard work if you prepare all the necessary tools and materials in advance.

You will need:

  • screwdrivers (slotted and cross-shaped),
  • gas key,
  • drill and drill bits for metal (3 and 6 mm),
  • level for position control,
  • water supply flexible hoses,
  • FUM-tape for waterproofing joints,
  • siphon,
  • polyurethane foam (2-3 standard bottles) for low pallets.

Do-it-yourself shower cabin assembly is carried out in stages. At every stage in without fail marking is performed for the accuracy of the geometric position of the elements. To be sure that the work is done correctly, you can do control check using a level.

Before you install a shower cabin yourself, you should make sure that the floor is even. If necessary, optimally performed in the bathroom concrete screed, carry out waterproofing and lay tiles.

Installation of the pallet and communications

Assembling a shower cabin with your own hands begins with the installation of a pallet. Depending on the configuration, it can be mounted on a frame or without it. Installation in these cases has its own nuances.

Installation of a pallet with a frame

On the metal frame established deep trays. The main thing in this case is to correctly and accurately fix the structure on the frame.

The frame is a frame structure made of metal beams, which, depending on the configuration, are fixed parallel to each other or crosswise.

The sequence of operations at this stage of installation is as follows:

When installing a pallet with a frame, it is important to properly organize the drain.

  • If the siphon has not been installed up to this point, it must be installed.
  • When connecting the siphon to the tray, the tightness of the joint is ensured and checked (close the siphon, pour water into the tray - a leak will be noticeable if it exists).
  • If a leak is found, fix it with sealant.
  • Check slope and length drain hose(for good flow the slope must be at least 2 cm per meter).

Installation of a pallet without a frame

When installing a shallow pallet, the frame is not required. In this case, the most important step is the installation of a siphon.

The corrugated hose is released from the mounting clamp, and the siphon is connected to the pallet with the obligatory sealing of the junction (for these purposes it is better to choose a transparent composition). After waiting until the sealant dries, the hose and its clamp are returned to their original position. At the same time, for a reliable connection of the hose with a sewer outlet, use rubber compressor. The need for its use is due to the difference in the diameters of the hose and the sewer outlet (4 and 5 cm, respectively).

Before the final fixation of the structure, it is checked for tightness by pouring water. This is a very important point, because after the final installation it will be very difficult to eliminate the shortcomings.

Capital fastening is carried out using polyurethane foam. The whole structure is raised to a height of about 5 cm and foam is poured under it.

For the duration of the foam strength gain, the pallet is loaded. The weight of the load must be significant. You can use sand or cement bags, tile packaging, etc. To evenly distribute the weight of the load and avoid distortion of the structure, the load is placed on a shield.

Installation of walls and doors

If you have reached the installation of walls and doors, the question of how to assemble a shower cabin at this stage with your own hands is no longer difficult. The shape and material of these elements can be different, but first of all, the wall on which the automation is fixed is always installed first.

All installed modules are necessarily coated with sealant, however, it is better to do this after the entire structure has been assembled “roughly”. Up to this point, experts recommend leaving a small backlash without fixing the elements rigidly. This will allow you to adjust the position of the walls and the door according to the level.

Important: If the walls or doors of the shower cabin are prefabricated and are a frame with inserted glass, it is necessary to assemble them and process the joints with sealant before installation.

After installing the electrical equipment, the shower stall is left until the sealing compound has cured.

AT general view The sequence of work during the installation of fences is as follows:

  1. The grooves of the guides before installing the glass are coated with sealant.
  2. The rack is attached to the arch with self-tapping screws.
  3. It is installed on glass inserts before installation.
  4. The lower guides located on the pallet are also lubricated with sealant.
  5. Glasses are installed.
  6. The side panels on the pallet are fixed with small self-tapping screws with washers.
  7. The joints are sealed.
  8. Electrical equipment is checked (availability and operability).
  9. The assembled shower cabin is left for the sealant to dry.

Roof installation

The roof of the shower cabin is installed on almost finished structure and is attached to the latter with the help of hardware.

Features of assembling open and closed models

Before assembling a shower cabin with your own hands, you should learn about the features of installing open and closed structures.

Shower cabin assembly diagram closed type differs in that its walls, racks, door and roof are attached to each other. A shower head, lighting and automation elements are also installed on the surface of the structure.

When deciding how to install a shower cabin yourself, if an open-type design is chosen, it should be remembered that the walls of the room act as elements of the cabin. In this case, the shower head, faucet and automation can be mounted on the wall. The side panels of the booth are also attached to the walls.
The video below demonstrates the nuances of mounting an open booth.

Features of installing a shower cabin in a private house

Those who are interested in how to install a shower cabin in a private house should remember that in this case, the installation has some differences from the work carried out in a city apartment.

The bathroom of a city apartment is a specially prepared room with waterproofing already completed, and in a private house the selected room requires preparation.

The obligatory stages of preparing the premises of a private house for installing a shower cabin are:

  • floor waterproofing,
  • waterproofing of walls and ceilings (facing with waterproof materials),
  • installation of ventilation in order to avoid excessive humidity.

Before you start installing a shower cabin with your own hands, you need to supply engineering communications:

  • cold water supply (if a local water heater is used),
  • cold and hot water supply, if used central system DHW or common heater for the whole house),
  • electricity,
  • sewerage.

Video

This video shows the assembly of a do-it-yourself shower cabin of a closed type.

Many turn to specialists to install a shower stall. But most apartment owners can handle this on their own, using the necessary tools, as well as studying all the methods of such installation.

There is a huge variety of shower enclosures on the market today. different forms and sizes. Some of them are already on sale assembled and they just need to be installed correctly. But they are not popular. This is due to the fact that they are not always convenient due to their size, which does not fit into the doorway. Shower enclosures that require assembly are the most sought after. Many experts advise to pay attention mainly to these models.

Types of cabins and equipment

It should be noted right away that all types of shower cabins differ in shape, materials of manufacture and installation method relative to the bathroom space. Let's analyze each type in more detail:

closed models

They are the most common option. Every second person who prefers shower cabins has exactly this look. It is characterized by closed walls and is a separate small room. The closed shower cabin also has a door, a tray, a roof and a watering can. Inside, additional features are built in that are necessary for a comfortable shower. Optionally, you can install a water heater and even a radio. The main disadvantage of this type of shower cabins is the cost, which is higher than the average on the market.

Much depends on the manufacturer, as well as the material from which the booth is made. One of the main advantages of such models is good sound insulation. The benefits also include additional features, a variety of models on the market and fast installation.

open cabins

In this case, the wall will be the wall of the room itself. The complete set of this type of shower cabin includes only a door, a tray on which a person stands, and a shower head. The option is quite simple and has no additional features. Mostly these models are installed in the corner of the bathroom. Of course, their main advantage is the cost. This cabin is the most budget among all presented on the market. It is also possible to build a cabin of any area that will be necessary for comfortable use.

Their main drawback is the difficult repair of sewer and water supply units. Open models do not have an upper base, that is, a roof. In this way, " rain shower' is not possible in this case. A conventional shower head is used, which is connected to the faucet. This type The shower cubicle is designed only to simply wash, but not to relax under warm water.

Pallets are needed to collect water, as well as drain it into the sewer. The shape of the pallets are divided into angular and rectangular.

When choosing it, first of all, pay attention to the depth, which is divided into:

  • deep, or high pallets. They are very similar to a small bath, in which it is possible to sit and draw water.
  • Medium pallets. They are considered the most versatile and are used much more often than other types.
  • Low trays. They are quite compact. Often they are called flat. This is due to the fact that they are almost invisible. Such pallets require a special technique for installing a water drain. Otherwise, problems may arise and water will not go down the drain.

Most often there are pallets that are made of acrylic.

You can also find products from other materials:

As a rule, the most popular and frequently used is precisely acrylic pallet. It is durable, easy to maintain and inexpensive. The most expensive is a pallet made of natural stone. Its main advantage is fast heating. As a rule, the tray retains heat for a long time, which makes the stay in the shower more comfortable.

The walls are necessary components shower. Their main function is to protect against the ingress of water, which can go far beyond the cabin. The raw material for the production of doors is plastic, glass or aluminum. Glass doors are the most popular. They are available on the market in two versions: frosted and tinted glass.

The standard equipment of the shower cabin are the following items:

  • pallet;
  • back panel;
  • roof;
  • racks.

Dimensions

Present on the market a large number of shower cabins different size. When choosing, it is important to first decide on the size, and then look at the design and equipment. Due to the small dimensions of the apartments, many people prefer to install showers rather than bathtubs. This saves a lot of space and is also the most convenient way taking a shower.

In the event that none of the presented model options will suit the buyer, then it is always possible to manufacture a custom-made shower cabin of a non-standard shape and size.

Width

The smallest width parameter is considered to be 0.75 m. It is possible only for asymmetric models. Good for a small bathroom. Such small size significantly saves space in the bathroom, which makes it possible to install it even in the very small room. The only negative is the inability to completely relax.

In such a shower you can only be in a standing position. Sitting or lying down is out of the question. Additional features are usually not included. But it is immediately worth noting that this size is suitable only for medium-sized people. For example, tall and massive men will feel uncomfortable in it. Therefore, before buying, you need to go inside and assess the situation. Such an action will help not to make a mistake with the choice.

Minimum size width standard models is 0.8 m. They are very popular among users. This is due to the fact that the largest number of rooms reserved for the bathroom have small size. This option will save a lot of space and allow you to install additional appliances or furniture in the bathroom. The cost of such a shower cabin is low and the average person can afford it. The functions that can be in the booth will create the perfect atmosphere for taking a shower.

The maximum width of shower enclosures can be up to 1.8 m. This is the most convenient option, which makes it possible to accommodate two people inside at once. This model, usually used in large rooms connected to the toilet. Thanks to large sizes shower cabin may include a number of additional features such as hydromassage, aromatherapy, radio, telephone, etc. The cost of this design is much higher than the previous one. But it justifies the investment.

There are also models of shower cabins, which are made together with the bathtub. They are also called combined. Along the perimeter of the bath there are walls, and the top can be either open or closed. Unlike the usual shower stalls, this design is quite large, so it is only suitable for indoor use. big size. The user is given the opportunity not only to take a shower while standing, but also to relax in horizontal position. This design has its advantages and disadvantages.

Pros:

  • You can take both a shower and a bath. Perfect for lovers of warm water.
  • Spacious shower. This is due to the rather large size of the bath.
  • Made in the most reliable way. High sides provide safety and also control the level of water in the pan.

Minuses:

  • When leaving such a shower cabin, it is necessary to step over a large tray, which is not convenient for all people.
  • Price. The price of this option is quite high compared to a conventional shower cabin, even of the largest size.
  • The structure is quite high and can reach 2.5 m.

It should be understood that the wider the shower cabin, the more convenient it is to use. There should be enough space inside for movement while taking a shower.

The height of the shower enclosure is also an important factor when choosing. The smallest height is 1.98 m. It is comfortable, but not for everyone. The highest cabin is considered to be 2.3 m. Comfortable Height curtain is 2 meters.

It should be noted that the height is selected individually. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the growth of each family member when buying. It is desirable that there be a "reserve". Therefore, it is recommended to immediately take the largest shower. As a rule, the ceilings in the bathroom will allow you to install such a design.

If the size of the shower cabin is chosen correctly, then its installation will not be problematic for the user. The main thing is to navigate the market of the presented models. The most popular and in demand are side models of showers. This is due to the fact that their walls fit snugly against the walls of the bathroom, which is the most comfortable and safe option. The installation of such a cabin is also quite simple.

The most widely presented option is square shape shower cubicle. But it is not very popular, although the installation of this model is not difficult.

Preparation and tools

Preparing everyone necessary tools, which will be involved in the work, is the very first step in the installation. Thus, the installation of a shower will not seem difficult and problematic.

You will need the following:

  • screwdrivers of various types;
  • gas key;
  • water hoses;
  • sealant;
  • siphon;
  • drill;
  • mounting foam.

Before starting installation, make sure that the floor is sufficiently level. In case of problems, it is necessary to level the surface, for example, by laying tiles.

Stages of work

As a rule, the assembly of the shower always begins with installation work pallet. Connecting the box with your own hands can occur both on the frame and without it.

Each method has some nuances that must be considered.

Pallet assembly

The pallet is installed on a frame, which is made of metal. The most important thing is a reliable fixation of the structure. The frame is presented in the form frame structure made of metal beams, which are fixed crosswise.

All actions must be performed sequentially:

  • The studs are screwed into specially designated holes in the pallet until they stop.
  • Two nuts are screwed onto the studs. One is attached from below, and the other serves as a support.
  • The frame support is installed on the previously screwed studs and nuts.
  • The central leg is screwed in and secured using a washer.
  • Next, the fixing beams are fixed with screws.
  • Brackets are substituted that act as a support for the screen.
  • The pallet is placed.

Proper organization draining when installing the pallet is the main task. A siphon should be installed if it has not been placed. The main thing is to check the tightness at the junction of the pallet and the siphon. In the event that a leak is detected, it can be easily eliminated with a sealant.

If the pallet is small, then a frame is not required for it. In this case, it is necessary to correctly install the siphon. The hose is disconnected from the clamp. The siphon is attached to the pallet, having previously been sealed at the junction to prevent leakage. You should wait until the sealant is completely dry. After that, the hose and clamp are returned to their place again.

After everything is fixed, it is necessary to check the structure for tightness. To do this, water is poured and it is checked if there is a leak. This is enough important point and it is better to do it at the very beginning, when everything can be corrected in case of problems. Then the structure should be raised by approximately 5 cm and filled with mounting foam.

The pallet must be loaded. Moreover, the weight should be large enough. Construction bags filled with cement are suitable for this. It is advisable to distribute the entire load evenly.

Communications

An important part of installing a shower stall is bringing it to the sewer.

To do this, you need to perform a number of works:

  • Around drain hole there is a protective film that needs to be removed.
  • The rubber gasket that is located on top is best replaced with silicone sealant.
  • Next, the siphon is screwed on.
  • The bottom connection and threads are treated with a sealant for reliability.
  • Next, the siphon is connected to the sewer. It is worth noting that the connection must be treated with a sealant for reliability.

Important to choose correct location shower cabin in the bathroom and take into account what else is planned to be installed, in addition to the cabin. The electrical network that goes to the water supply and water heater must be insulated. Waterproofing in small apartment must be extremely reliable.

Walls, doors and roof

This stage is the easiest to install a shower stall. But it's still better to ask another person to help you. This will make the installation process even easier. During installation, it is advisable to follow the manufacturer's recommendations, since all shower enclosures have some differences from each other. Walls are fixed with special bolts.
