Forced pump for sewer repair. The device, installation and use of forced sewerage. Reconstruction or relocation of the bathroom

What if the sewer outlet is higher than the plumbing outlet? How then to organize the removal of wastewater? In private houses, they made a pit into which drains were collected, from there they pumped submersible pump into a sewer or septic tank. Today there is another solution - sewer pump. In many cases, its installation is cheaper, and even easier - that's for sure.

Device and purpose

A pump with a grinder is a surface sewer pumping unit that allows you to organize the removal of wastewater where it is not possible to do this using a gravity system. This is a small plastic container with a powerful built-in pump that pumps wastewater into the sewer. Drainage can be moved both vertically and horizontally. There are installations with a grinder that can be connected to toilets, there are without a grinder - for "gray" drains from sinks, showers, bidets, etc.

Application area

A sewer pump is used in cases where it is impossible to make a gravity sewer system. In most cases, when a plumbing fixture, washing machine or dishwasher is installed below the sewer inlet. For this, forced sewage pumps were invented. This solution allows you to transfer bathrooms and technical rooms to the basement or semi-basement.

Another pump with a chopper is installed if it is decided to make the bathroom after the repair is completed and the sewerage system has not been connected to the place of the proposed installation of plumbing. In this case, the installed equipment is connected to a compact sewer pump, and it is connected to the sewer. What's the Difference? In the following:

  • the diameter of the outlet pipes for the sewer pump is much smaller than for the gravity system (28-40 mm);
  • drains can rise up to a height of up to 9 meters;
  • horizontal lead Wastewater possible up to 100 meters (requires a minimum slope of 1-4%).

All this makes it possible to organize a connection to existing sewer almost anywhere.

Device and principle of operation

The sewer pump consists of a storage plastic container and pump. Some models that can be connected to the toilet have a chopper. The filling level is monitored by a sensor. When it works, the chopper and pump turn on, the waste is pumped into the sewer system. Shutdown controls the second sensor - it turns off the power when the level of drains falls below a certain level. This is a simplified algorithm for the action of a pressure sewer.

There are sewer pumping stations designed to connect devices different type and quantities. The simplest one is designed to connect one or two devices, the most productive one has three additional pipes (and one main one). Accordingly, the container has one or more inlets (depending on the model) and one outlet. Pipes coming from plumbing are connected to the inlets, and the outlet is connected to the sewer.

For pumping out high-temperature effluents from washing machines, dishwashers, bathrooms, there are special models made of heat-resistant materials. A conventional sewer pump cannot cope with such a load. Therefore, to connect such equipment, you need to look for certain models.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main advantage of compact individual sewer installations is that they allow you to equip the sewer without carrying out large-scale construction or repair work. With their help, complex tasks are solved:

  • Drainage device when plumbing fixtures are located below the entry point to the sewer system.
  • Equipping a bathroom without carrying out large-scale civil works.

Another positive point is the use of small diameter pipes. Most toilet pumps are connected to the sewer with plastic pipes diameter 28 mm - 32 mm - 40 mm. Only high capacity installations require 50mm pipes. Such plumbing networks are easier to hide. Even if it was not possible to hide them, they do not attract as much attention as the standard one hundred millimeters.

However, there are also disadvantages:

Well, the main drawback is that the pumps burn out. If the power and performance are selected correctly, unsuitable items do not get into the sewer, they can work for years. But with a selection error, when the equipment is operated at its limit, the pumps often fail. Therefore, when choosing a sewer pump for a toilet, it is better to take it with a margin of performance. It will cost more, but such an installation will work longer.

Classification and types

There is no single classification of forced sewage installations, but they can be divided according to several parameters:

When choosing a pump for forced sewage, it is worth remembering that they are not designed to connect a bath. The bathrooms contain too much water, pumping out which the pump will overheat and block. As a result, it will take a long time to drain the water from the bathroom. There are only a few models of forced sewage that can handle this task - SFA Saniplus Silence and Sololift C3. These sewer pumps are great for large quantity drained warm water.

Other companies offer to make an intermediate pit for forced pumping out of the bathroom, into which to drain the water. From it, pump it into the sewer with any suitable device. Given that the pit must be below the level of the drain, this method is not always acceptable. And, despite the high cost of SFA Saniplus Silence and Sololift C3, it is more profitable to install it than to carry out a huge amount of excavation.

To prevent overfilling of the tank, there is additional device alarms. In some firms, it simply delivers sound signal about capacity overflow, in others it also turns off the device connected through it (washing or dishwasher).

Installation and connection rules

Installation and connection of pumps for toilet bowls and forced pumping of drains different manufacturers follows very similar rules. But before installation, you should read the instructions for a specific product - there may be features.

A sewage pump can stand in the kitchen - to drain drains from the sink and / or dishwasher

Connection

The installation location must be chosen so that the pump can be reached. It does not require special maintenance, but periodically there is a need for cleaning. If a dishwasher and a washing machine are connected to the pump, it is better to regularly check whether the sewer installation is clogged with grease, dirt, and salt deposits. Can be cleaned if necessary soft means. Aggressive chemical compositions it is better not to apply, as they can damage the plastic and rubber parts of the installation.

So here are the general rules:

In general, installing and connecting a sewer pump for a kitchen or toilet is not a very difficult undertaking. But provided that you already have some idea about working with plumbing. In this case, you can do everything yourself.

Outlet pipeline features

Compact plumbing toilet pumps can pump drains not only vertically, but can also lift them up. If there is a vertical section in its lower part, it is desirable to provide for the possibility of draining - if you have to clear the pipeline from blockage, it is better if the drains are drained in a certain place, and do not start pouring out during work.

The height of the vertical section of the outlet pipeline is determined taking into account the minimum slope of the horizontal section. Each manufacturer (sometimes each model) has its own minimum slope, but in most cases it is 1-4% (1-4 cm per 1 meter).

Be careful. The description of the sewage pumps indicates maximum height lifting of drains and the maximum distance of transportation horizontally. For example: 8 m up, and 80 m horizontally. But this does not mean that by lifting the pipe 4 meters up, it will be possible to transport another 80 meters horizontally. In this case, after a four-meter rise, the length of the horizontal section will be no more than 40 meters. Just climbing 1 meter up "takes away" about 10 meters of horizontal transportation. This is important and worth remembering.

Manufacturers and models

Not many companies produce individual sewer installations. However, the price range is quite wide. Traditionally, European manufacturers are of good quality, but high prices. No one will be surprised if we say that Chinese sewage pumps cost less, but their quality is worse. In general, the choice, as usual, is expensive and high quality, or cheaper and…

Forced sewage installations Grundfos (Grundfos) - Sololift (Sololift)

The well-known plumbing manufacturer Grundfos (Grundfos) produces pumps for forced sewerage Sololift (Sololift). At the moment, a modified Sololift2 line has been launched. It has no moving parts in contact with drains. The exception is the chopper, but its drive is also “dry”. This makes the renovation less of a hassle. There are several Sololift models for different occasions:

Sololift sewer pumps are not the cheapest equipment, but they work reliably and correspond to the declared characteristics. The firm also supports warranty repairs.

Pumps for toilets, bathrooms, kitchens and technical rooms SFA

This company specializes in the production of sanitary pumps. There are several lines for solving different problems, connecting various devices:

SFA products work reliably and cost a little less than Grundfus. You can choose a model for any combination of plumbing. In general, the SFA sewage pump is a good option. Installation of equipment is standard - put in any convenient place. There is only one limitation - it is better that the branch pipeline starts from a vertical section, if there is one on your route. If this is not possible, the length of the horizontal section should be no more than 30 cm.

The height of the vertical section is calculated taking into account the fact that the horizontal section must have a slope towards the inlet of at least 1% (1 cm per 1 meter of pipe).

Aquatik CompactLift fecal pumps

Toilet pumps Compact Elevator is manufactured by the Chinese company Aquatik. It's over a budget option individual sewer installations. Differ low level noise.

At the moment there are only three modifications:

Aquatik guarantees its bathroom and toilet pumps for 1 year from the date of sale. Violation of operation (the presence of fibrous inclusions in drains) may cause a denial of warranty repairs.

Willo sewage pumps

The German company Willo is known for making reliable devices. Toilet pumps are no exception. Good quality plastic, thick tank walls, reliable pump. There are the following models:

Assortment of sewer pumping units Willo allows you to solve any problem when it comes to equipping bathrooms and toilets in private homes. For commercial or more intensive use, Willo has other solutions.

Pressure sewer pumps STP (Jemix)

These customized sewer units are made in China. The price category is average. Reviews, as usual, are different - someone is completely satisfied, someone absolutely does not like it.

So, here are the sewer pumps Jemix offers:

Differs from the above increased power- some models raise drains by 9 meters. Most of the sewer pressure pumps described above can lift up drains by 4-5 meters. So this is where the Jamixes win. In this parameter, they have only one competitor - Sololift Grundfos with its lifting height of 8 meters. But his price category is completely different (as is the quality, however).

Sewerage exists in every modern apartment, but sometimes her work does not suit the owner. In this case, they resort to improving the system by installing optional equipment. Forced sewage in an apartment is one such option, which you will learn more about in this article.

Equipping an apartment with a sewer system, developers install plumbing units in certain places. Changing the location of a toilet, sink or tub can sometimes lead to poor drainage. Therefore, for a radical rearrangement, it is necessary to resort to redevelopment of the apartment itself and a change in the location of the sewer risers. But such actions may not always be possible, moreover, they will entail large financial costs.

Note! To save money and your nerves, you can resort to installing a forced sewage system. In this case, you will have to install a special sanitary pump, which will ensure the normal outflow of sewage from plumbing fixtures.

Such additional equipment allows you to solve two problems at once:

  • install a plumbing unit in any room in the apartment;
  • ensure a normal outflow of effluents from nodes where it is impossible to ensure the gravity flow of liquids.

Forced sewage works according to the following principle: a container is installed in the room in which all sewage is collected. When it is filled to a certain level, the sanitary pump is turned on, which pumps the collected effluents into the sewerage system.

Note! The unit is often equipped with a special grinder that grinds solids and prevents clogging.

Installing such a unit has a lot of advantages:

  • The device has small dimensions, which makes it possible to install it in almost any place convenient for the owner.
  • Provides outflow of drains from pipes of small diameter. Communications with a diameter of up to 40 mm can be more easily hidden than standard sewer pipes.
  • The device has great power. With the help of a sanitary pump, sewage can be removed up to 100 m in the horizontal plane, and up to 7 m in the vertical (upwards).
  • Easy to install and operate.

The unit works offline. A float is installed in the waste collection tank, which turns on when the liquid reaches a certain level.

Note! The device is equipped with filters that prevent unpleasant odors from entering the apartment.

A sanitary pump can be purchased at any store today, but before buying it is worth learning about some of their varieties. Pumps are produced by different companies, have different capacities and various characteristics. But it is worth making a choice depending on the place of use of the device. The market offers models that are designed for:

  1. Pumping of hot drains without their crushing. Such pumps are used to pump water from a bath or shower. They are capable of pumping wastewater with temperatures up to 95 ° C, and due to the absence of a grinder, they have small dimensions.
  2. Pumping of hot drains with a grinder. It's over expensive devices. They easily tolerate liquids with temperatures up to 95 ° C, while being able to pump out drains not only from a bath or shower, but also from a toilet bowl and a sink.
  3. Pumping cold water without grinder. The unit easily copes with a large number of drains without particulate matter with temperatures up to 45°C.
  4. Pumping cold water with a grinder. It is these models that are most in demand. They can be used both for the bathroom and for the toilet or sink.

When choosing a model, you need to clearly know the place of its installation and temperature regime drains. Most expensive options that can withstand boiling water are expensive, but their installation is not always advisable. Even in the bathroom after bathing or in the shower, the water rarely rises above 40°C.

The grinder is highly reliable. It grinds small solids without much difficulty without compromising the integrity of the unit itself and sewer pipes.

Note! When choosing a unit for forced sewage, you should pay attention to the recommendations from manufacturers. Some models are produced specifically for a particular plumbing unit. If you buy a device designed for a bath or shower, then it will not be possible to install it to drain drains from the toilet.

Select a location before installation. Since the device has a small size, it is not difficult to install it discreetly. Quite often, the installation is carried out behind the toilet or under the sink. If a model without a grinder is chosen, then it is more compact and can easily fit even under the bathtub.

At the same time, it is necessary to provide easy access to the unit for maintenance work. It should also be borne in mind that the device is powered by electricity, which means that an outlet should be located nearby.

When choosing a location, remember that the pipe from the plumbing unit to the inlet to the sanitary pump must be at an angle. It is in this case that the drains will freely flow into the device.

Work on the installation of forced sewerage is carried out in the following sequence:

  • Mounting hardware is included with the device. First of all, after choosing a place, the fasteners are installed in their places. After that, the unit itself is mounted and the reliability of its position is checked.
  • Then the sewer pipes are connected from the plumbing units to the pump inlet. Often, flexible hoses are already included in the device kit, if there are none, you will have to purchase them separately. In this case, it should be borne in mind that the diameter of the pipes for the outlet of the plumbing unit and the inlet of the pump must match.
  • The hoses included in the kit are equipped with plastic fittings with seals, so their connection will not cause much difficulty.
  • The outlet pipe is also supplied with fittings. We connect the outlet to the sewerage system. After all work, the tightness of the docking points should be checked. If it is insufficient, then silicone sealant should be used.
  • The final step is to connect the device to electrical network. If there is no outlet nearby, then it is better to invite a specialist. Remember that electricity and water are two incompatible things.

As you can see, the installation of a forced sewage system can be easily done independently. Having spent a small amount, you get the opportunity to install a plumbing unit in almost any corner of the apartment, without worrying about draining.

Why, in principle, is there a problem of installing a toilet bowl in any convenient place?

The wonderful invention of mankind - the toilet bowl, provides the disposal of natural human waste and does not allow penetration unpleasant odors from places of accumulation of these wastes into the room. Waste disposal is carried out with the help of water: filling the toilet tank with water and then draining it, together with waste, into the wastewater disposal system (sewerage). Protection against the penetration of odors from the sewer into the room toilet room is provided by the design of the toilet bowl, which is based on the principle of a water seal (a space in the pipeline that is constantly filled with water, which does not allow air to pass through and, therefore, smell).

So, in order for the toilet to work, you need a supply of water to the tank and its drain. The drainage of water from the toilet bowl into the sewer is usually carried out by gravity when its bowl is filled with a sufficient volume of water. Therefore, toilets are trying to be located in close proximity to sewer riser, vertical pipe large diameter, which is part sewer system, through which all waste is drained from top to bottom.
The supply of water to the right place can be easily carried out water pipes small diameter, made of various materials(metal, plastic, etc.), but the removal of water “enriched” with waste cannot be done with the same simplicity. Firstly, to transport heavily polluted water (faecal masses, paper, etc.), large diameter pipes are required, and secondly, they require a strong slope (height difference between the entry point and the exit point) to ensure the natural flow of their not quite liquid contents under the influence of gravity. Therefore, especially in high-rise buildings, conduct a vertical sewer pipe (sewer riser) and place toilet bowls and other sources of contaminated water discharge in close proximity to it.

Layout of plumbing in an apartment building

So how do you get out of the situation when you need to install a toilet, sink, shower and other sources of contaminated water discharge away from the sewer pipeline, or below the entry point to the sewer riser (for example, in the basement)?
How, without carrying out serious construction and repair work, including the restructuring of the sewerage system, which is sometimes simply impossible, to place a bathroom in any convenient place?

The solution to this problem is to install a forced sewage pump.

can be heard various titles of these devices: sewer installations, sanitary pumps, plumbing pumps, toilet pumps, fecal pumps with a grinder, solo lifts, sanitary pumps, attachments to the toilet, forced sewer systems and more.

- the general name of the devices, identifying them functional purpose. Forced sewage pumps provide transportation of contaminated water to a remote sewer from sources such as a toilet, washbasin, shower, bidet, bathtub, as well as a washing machine and dishwasher.

Appearance of a forced sewage pump for connecting a toilet bowl (fecal pump with a grinder)

Forced sewage pumps can be divided into two main groups: fecal pumps with chopper and sanitary pumps. Fecal pumps with a chopper are designed to connect the toilet and additionally other sources of contaminated water. Sanitary pumps are designed for connection various sources contaminated water, except for the toilet bowl.

In each group, the number of connected objects varies. For example, one model of a fecal pump can only be used for a toilet bowl, another for a toilet bowl and a washbasin, a third for a toilet bowl, a washbasin, washing machine and shower cabin. Sanitary pumps are also designed to connect several different objects (there are models up to 6 inclusions).

All forced sewage pumps require an electrical connection (as a rule, toilet pumps are equipped with a conventional single-phase 220 volt euro plug with grounding - you just need to plug it into a regular household outlet).

An example of installing a forced sewage pump for a toilet, washbasin and shower

The principle of operation of the sewage pump next: after draining the water in the toilet, the water enters the pump housing by gravity, the water level in the housing rises, and at the same time, the motor that drives the knives of the grinding mechanism automatically turns on; the faecal material is crushed into small particles in a few seconds and pumped through the outlet pipe with a diameter of 1-1.5 inches, after which the pump body is left almost empty and ready to work again, remaining in standby mode.
Simply put, a toilet pump is a septic tank in miniature. And just like in the case of a large septic tank ( waste pit), you should monitor the serviceability of the check valve at the outlet of the pump, otherwise the fecal water from pressure pipeline will drain back after the pump motor is turned off (the pump will drive water back and forth).

There are models of plumbing pumps designed to work with wall hung toilets and concealed installation in the wall.

Appearance of the pump for a suspended toilet bowl.

The main characteristics of forced sewage pumps are:

Number and types of connected objects (sources of polluted water)
vertical pumping distance (to what height it can lift)
horizontal pumping distance (distance from source to discharge)
allowable temperature drains (possibility to work with hot water)
diameter of the wastewater discharge pipe (with a small diameter, a chopper is required)
power consumption
dimensions and form factor
noise level

There are heavy-duty pump models designed specifically for installation in public toilets with high flow rates and extended sewage discharge distances.

Main manufacturers

AT this moment in our market you can find a large number of various models of forced sewage pumps from different manufacturers. But among all manufacturers, three leading brands can be distinguished: SFA, Gundfos, Jemix.

The most famous are the pumps of the French company SFA, which, by the way, was the first to develop this type of pump. Currently, SFA, being the market leader, offers more than 15 models of forced sewage pumps in its range. SFA pump model names begin with " SANI"And this determined the appearance of one of the common names of forced sewage pumps - sanitary pumps. The name "sololift", which has also come into use as a common name for toilet pumps, we owe to the world's largest Danish pump company, Grundfos. The most promoted Grundfos brand is a series of forced sewage pumps under the brand name Sololift. Also gaining popularity among consumers are more budgetary pumps made in China by a Russian brand. Jemix, which are much cheaper than European pumps, not too inferior to them in quality.

Repair of forced sewage pumps is carried out by special mobile teams (due to the specifics of these pumps, their transportation is rather inconvenient) and service centres manufacturing firms.
Installation and maintenance of such pumps are quite simple. You can independently place a bathroom in any place convenient for you. minimal cost and without resorting to general construction work, having minimal plumbing skills.

pay attention to 10 basic rules correct installation forced sewage pump:

1. The outgoing pipeline must be airtight, straight, rigid (no sagging or rises) and have a slope of at least 1% (1 centimeter of slope per meter of length).

2. If it is necessary to lift and drain the outgoing pipeline, then first they make a lift, and then a drain to the side, so that the rise of wastewater begins no further than 30 cm from the pump (this is necessary for correct operation check valve).

3. All connections of the outgoing pipeline must be smooth (connection at two 45° angles connected by a straight line is allowed).

4. Incoming piping must have a 3% slope in length. This will reduce the risk of blockages.

5. A valve (0.7 bar) must be installed if the outgoing pipeline runs below the pump or has a very long run. The valve must be located in the top point outgoing pipeline.

6. The outlet pipeline of each pump must have its own, not connected with other pumps, entrance to the sewer system.

7. The pump must be accessible for maintenance and located no further than 40 cm from the toilet.

8. If the toilet cistern must rest against a wall, an additional spacer is required.

9. Do not install the pump below floor level (if the inlet pressure is too high, the pump motor activation sensor may not work correctly).

10. The electrical connection must be made in accordance with the current standards and the requirements specified in the instructions (as a rule, humidity is high in the places where such pumps are installed).

Everyone knows that the principle of operation of the sewage system is to move effluents down the pipes, by gravity, due to the forces of gravity. Drains, according to the laws of physics, always rush to the lowest point, which is the entry point to the common sewer riser. If the toilet is located below this point, then the drains from the whole house will just collect in your pipe. They will not be included in the common stock. What to do if, for example, the bathroom is located in the basement or in ground floor? The way out can be found quite simply by installing a fecal pump with a toilet chopper right behind the toilet. New system will cease to be completely gravity flow, becoming partially pressure.

By appearance sewer pump-chopper for the toilet looks like a compact plastic box not exceeding the dimensions drain tank. It is usually installed on the floor, just behind the toilet, but can be hidden in a wall or behind a plastic or drywall partition. It does not require maintenance, as it has a self-cleaning function. The drains from the toilet enter the pump housing, where they are crushed by metal blades and sent under pressure to the drain riser. There is a non-return valve in the body of the device that does not allow drains to return back to the tank.

Thus, the use of a fecal pump with a chopper for the toilet will allow you to equip a bathroom, sauna, laundry room or other utility room anywhere in the house, regardless of the location of the sewer riser. On average, such a pump can lift drains vertically up to 10 m, and pump them horizontally by 100 meters or more. Specific values depend on the device model and its characteristics.

How does a grinder pump work?

To install and connect this useful device an electrical outlet with a connection to the mains is required. The sewage pump for the toilet bowl is switched on automatically, after flushing the water in the tank. When a certain water level in the device body is reached, the engine and pump start. Knives grind fecal matter, fine waste and toilet paper. Under the action of the pressure created by the pump, the crushed waste, together with water, enters the drain pipe.

Types of pumps and features of their choice

Commercially available household sewer pump shredders differ from each other in several ways. Knowing these differences, you can choose for your home exactly the unit that you fit better Total.

Structurally, all models are divided into the following types:

When choosing a grinder pump, pay attention to the following pump parameters:

1. Ability to connect multiple plumbing fixtures. For example, in addition to the toilet bowl, you can bring the drain of the washbasin and shower stall to the pump. If you want to do this, then purchase a combined device that has several inputs.

Tip: If your bathroom is equipped with a large number of plumbing fixtures, it is recommended to install another pump, distributing the fixtures between them. One device will be responsible for the cold drain, and the other for hot water.

2. Temperature of the content being pumped. Fecal pump a toilet grinder will work best in the temperature environment for which it is designed. Some models are adapted to work with drains having temperatures up to 40 degrees. If you connect the device only to the toilet, then any kind of pump will work for you. Some models are designed specifically for pumping hot liquids. They are able to pass through themselves drains with temperatures up to 95 degrees. If you plan to connect a washing machine or dishwasher, shower or washbasin with hot water to such an appliance, then choose the appropriate model for hot water.

3. Pumping distance, that is, the distance from the pump to the sewer riser. Knowing this indicator, you can select the required power and pressure of the device as accurately as possible.

Tip: Please note that simultaneously pumping drains horizontally and lifting them to a height will significantly reduce the indicated values. When the drains rise up by 1 m, the horizontal range is automatically reduced by 10 m. When choosing, consider both of these parameters, choosing power with a small margin.

The relationship between the change in the pressure of the fecal pump vertically and horizontally, which must be taken into account when installing

Installation

Before installing on permanent place pump, pay attention to the diameter of its inlet pipe. It must match the diameter sewer pipe coming out of the toilet. If they do not match, you will not be able to make a tight connection.

The floor sewer pump with a grinder, which is installed independently, is mounted in the following sequence:

  • supply pipes are inserted into all inlet pipes of the pump (with a slope of 3 centimeters per 1 meter of length) or plugs;
  • the pump is installed in a permanent place behind the toilet and is attached to the floor with a puncher and dowels;
  • a sewer pipe is laid from the pump to the drain riser. If several pipes are joined together, then the connections between them must be welded, soldered or glued. If it is necessary to vertically withdraw the pipe from the pump, the pipe must be turned up no further than 30 cm from the pump outlet. In this case, normal pressure will remain in the pipe;
  • the drain pipe leaving the toilet is connected to the pump using corrugated pipe. This takes into account some features: the entrance to the pump housing must be located below the level of the outlet of the pipe from the toilet. It is also necessary to slope the drain pipe to ensure the movement of drains by gravity;
  • the toilet grinder pump is connected to the mains;
  • the operation of the unit is checked and the absence of leaks in the joints of the elements of the system.

Tip: During installation, do not allow the drain pipe to turn on significant angles, as this puts additional stress on the pump components.

The typical location of the sewer riser in an apartment is often not the most convenient for its owners, because the location of the kitchen and bathroom depends on it, forced sewerage is a relief from this inconvenience. With its help, you can not only organize the disposal of wastewater, bypassing the need for redevelopment (and the associated capital construction works), but also set plumbing fixtures in basements a private house (when the plumbing is below the riser, and the drains cannot be drained by gravity). How to create such a system, you can learn from this article.

The principle of operation of forced sewage

Forced sewage in a private house, or sololift, is a pump equipped with choppers. The size of the pump is small, which allows you to hide it from prying eyes behind plumbing fixtures or inside them (for example, in the toilet bowl). The pumped-out drains are crushed by the chopper blades and then sent to the sewer or septic tank through sewer pipes of small diameter (from 18 to 40 mm).

It is worth noting that the pump grinder for forced sewage is characterized by high power, allowing to divert fecal masses and other household waste at a distance of up to 100 m in the horizontal direction and up to 5-7 m in the vertical direction. The rise of drains to a height is relevant if the bathroom is located lower than the sewerage is laid.

The main advantage of sololifts is their high-quality functioning, despite the use of thin pipes. Thanks to this, installation is carried out quickly and easily, and complex construction work is not needed. Thus, the forced sewage system is cost-effective and easy to operate.

Due to the fact that sewer pipes have a small diameter, they can be laid without harming the design in any room, located, for example, behind a cornice or baseboard, which is very important from an aesthetic point of view.

In addition, sololifts allow you to install plumbing anywhere in the cottage, without looking back at the passage of a vertical sewer riser.

Pro tip: If you are not satisfied that the kitchen, bathroom and toilet are next to each other, get a forced sewer system and feel free to move the bathroom.

The use of forced sewage

Features of drainage of dishwashers and washing machines

Everyone knows that modern automatic machines (washing machines or dishwashers) must be connected to the sewer in order to divert contaminated used water. But in small city apartments there is hardly a place to install these assistants in the place where the sewer passes, this is typical for both the bathroom and the kitchen.

Yes, and in large cottages, you want to hide the units in the basement, which often serve as the utility floor. In both cases, there is a solution if forced sewage pumps are used. The gist of the solution is as follows:

  • It will require the placement of a special sewer plant equipped with a water collection tank and a built-in pump.
  • Drains gradually fill the container in which the float switch operates. When their volume reaches a certain value, the pump turns on, pumping polluted water into the sewer.
  • This forced sewage small size and is mounted in an apartment or in a house in the immediate vicinity of the equipment that produces drains.
  • It is equipped with a charcoal filter that prevents unpleasant sewage odors from entering the room.

Reliable and efficient system does not require specific maintenance measures, it is only necessary to periodically clean and rinse the tank.

Reconstruction or relocation of the bathroom

As mentioned above, the transfer of the bathroom to another, more comfortable spot it is possible to do it in two ways:

  1. redevelopment of the apartment overhaul premises;
  2. install forced pumps for pressure sewerage.

The second option is more affordable and faster. But at the same time, you need to purchase a sanitary pump that meets special requirements. After all, he will have to work with aggressive environments.

Sololift installation

When buying a forced sewer system, pay attention to the fact that different sololifts are designed for different plumbing fixtures.

Manufacturers produce them separately for:

  1. toilet bowl
  2. shells;
  3. baths;
  4. shower cabin.

Pro tip:

The diameter of the inlet of the sololift must correspond to the diameter of the outlet of the drain sewer pipe. Otherwise, the installation will be incorrect.

Installation of forced sewerage can be done by hand, calling for the help of specialists only to connect it to the mains. Forced drain is installed according to the instructions.

The best option is considered to be such an arrangement of the pipeline, in which its beginning has a strictly vertical position, and then it passes horizontally, with some slope. The main parameters for horizontal and vertical sections of the pipeline, as well as the slope value, are written in technical passport sololift or in the installation instructions.

The figure clearly shows inverse relationship the length of the vertical riser from the dimensions of the horizontal one. If the vertical section of the pipeline rises to a height of not more than 1 m, then the length horizontal pipe it can be 50 m. But if the height of the pipeline is 4 m, it cannot exceed 10 m in horizontal length.

As an example, we present a fragment of instructions for forced sewage:

  1. Insert the drain pipe from the toilet bowl or siphon into the intake device.
  2. Bring the opposite part of the sololift to the sewer riser.
  3. Connect the sololift to the electrical network through a socket or directly into the shield. It is important that the system is provided with a device protective shutdown(RCD).

So implement self-assembly Pretty easy if you have at least some skills. In other cases, it is better to entrust it to specialists. Otherwise, forced sewage systems have practically no restrictions in use and will be an excellent assistant in the redevelopment of housing.
