How to hide pipes: installation in walls, under drywall, decorating. How to make a box in the bathroom to close drywall pipes? Installation of polypropylene pipes behind drywall

When conducting cosmetic repairs often there are specific situations. For example, such as closing the pipes in the bathroom with drywall with your own hands. The risers of the sewer network in the corners of the bathroom, the heating and plumbing pipes in the kitchen, with their presence, do not have the best effect on the aesthetics of the interior. Therefore, it makes sense to hide them. The easiest way is to close the pipes with drywall, since the processing of the GK does not cause problems even for an inexperienced master. Knowing how to close the pipes with drywall, you can act accordingly when embedding any type of pipe (for example, gas).

What is this article about

Preparation of tools and material

To proceed to the workflow, fixtures and materials are prepared according to the list.

To create a box you will need:

  • a pair of GKVL panels (trimmings that have survived after wall cladding, not less than 50 by 50 cm);
  • metal profile - its quantity is determined according to the length of the box (within 5-25 m);
  • dowel set with d 6 mm;
  • self-tapping screws for metal;
  • mesh for reinforcing HA;
  • putty.

Before you sew up the pipes with drywall, you must have the following devices ready:

  • level to control the evenness of surfaces;
  • tape measure - it is used to measure the necessary parameters, with its participation they cut the panel and profile;
  • a pencil for marking the material for cutting it or setting fasteners;
  • puncher or drill with nozzles and a drill (d - 6 mm) for making holes in the wall for dowels;
  • Phillips screwdriver;
  • a hammer;
  • hacksaw;
  • metal scissors;
  • grater with teeth for smoothing the cement composition;
  • spatula for spreading putty on the surface.

Who has no idea how to close the pipes with drywall, the following guide will help you deal with key points this process.

But first, it should be clearly understood why HA panels are considered excellent for masking pipes in a toilet, bathroom, or in any of the rooms of the home. And this choice is due to a number of important advantages when working with drywall. In particular, these:

  • affordability;
  • simplicity and speed of assembly of the structure;
  • the neutrality of drywall for health, its environmental safety;
  • no release of toxins from heating sheets.

Knowing all the subtleties, you just need to choose the right one suitable look material. For rooms with an increased heat and humidity regime, a moisture-resistant type of panels is recommended - KGVL.

Works of the preparatory stage

Before the actual sheathing of the riser pipes, the latter are recommended to be properly prepared. That is, they clean off the previous coatings and apply a fresh coat of paint. This will extend the life of the pipes by protecting them with paint from the corrosive process. Indeed, after closing the pipes with a box, access to them becomes difficult. Even when a hatch is made on the front wall of the box.

Drying of paint on pipes signals that the next stage has come - arrangement frame structure under the box

Construction of a frame support

Usually, in the manufacture of the frame, metal profiles are involved, made from special galvanized sheet with a decent shelf life and resistant to rust. Sometimes a frame is made for a box of wooden beams.

To hide the risers behind drywall, a profile support is erected, focusing on a sequential alternation of procedures.

  1. Marks are made on the ceiling, walls and floor for the future frame, while they are armed with a pencil, a plumb line, a level.
  2. Guides are placed according to the marking, fixing them to the wall surface with dowels.
  3. Completing construction work supporting structure installation of rack elements along the guide profile beams. The connection of profiles that are joined to each other is carried out with a special fastening device - the so-called bugs.

Sheathing with sheets of frame GK

The next step is sewing up the constructed base with gypsum-fiber blanks. Close attention is paid to the following nuances:

  • use exclusively moisture-resistant products of the Civil Code;
  • panels are selected with a thickness that can give greater rigidity to the box (that is, 12 mm);
  • when joining drywall blanks, they use either edge alignment (if there is a factory edge), or a chamfer method with an angle of 45 degrees.
  • in the casing provide a clearance for air ventilation;
  • check the position of the self-tapping screws - they must be recessed, and not exposed and not hanging over the wall.

The first step is to take measurements. The ceiling/floor gap is calculated using a tape measure. Measure the required distance on the profiles and cut off so that 3 blanks come out. Three racks are placed around the pipes (2 at the wall and 1 in the center between the first two) in compliance with right angle between them. In the case of not the angular location of the risers, but along the wall, 4 profile segments are prepared. They are framed by pipes in the shape of a square. Or they also use three racks, beveling the corner and constructing a triangular support. The choice of frame geometry is mainly guided by design considerations.

After measuring the gaps between the uprights, support-beams are made. They are fixed with metal screws.

Important point: in order to prevent deformation frame installation in case of seismic shifts, a special shock-absorbing tape is used. It is applied to the areas of contact of the working surfaces with the racks. The use of such a tape will allow you to level vibrations, preventing them from entering the profile. This creates protection against the destruction of the frame structure.

Sheathing with GK sheets is produced in one of two options: either sections of the GK prepared according to measurements, or a solid piece of material with cutting off extra centimeters after it is fastened with self-tapping screws. In a situation of shortage of some part of the sheet, the joints are laid in place of the transverse crossbar, after which the edges of both parts of the sheets are fixed.

The voids between the sheathing and the wall are filled with mounting foam.

Processing a drywall closure for pipes with putty is considered final stage all procedures. But first, the junctions of the HA with each other are glued with sickle tape. To give perfect evenness to the surface, the caps of the fasteners are carefully puttied.

For evenness of corners use a sloping corner. Putty is applied to the back side of it in small portions and, pressing, put it on the corner. Then, with the participation of a wide spatula, the effect of a leveled base is achieved. After the putty has dried, sandpaper is passed over the surfaces and primed. And then they move on to finishing - wallpaper pasting, coloring, tiling, etc.

Pipe sheathing by other methods

Anyone who thinks that sheathing pipes with a box is difficult or not possible for one reason or another, will continue to figure out how to close the pipes in the toilet with drywall. Arrangement of a protective wall is one of the alternative ways.

In the manufacture of such a wall, it must necessarily provide for an inspection hatch or a door with hinged doors. The surface of the wall is lined with materials that prevail in the design of the entire sanitary facility. Often, behind a similar wall, a frame is masked to wall hung toilet. The installation of such a device is done according to technical instructions supplied with the product.

In terms of design, doors and hatches can be built in completely different ways. They can be tiled. Their better opening is facilitated by special fastener loops called frogs. You can build shutter doors or put roller shutters here.

Drywall finds advantageous use in such a matter as installation various designs hiding engineering networks. It is only important not to forget what is acquired in this case. special kind GK and be sure to adhere to a clear sequence.

There are pipes in every room, and especially a lot of them in the bathroom, toilet and kitchen. And often they only spoil appearance rooms, not decorate it. Therefore, the question “how can pipes be closed” is more than relevant today.
Pipes can be sewn up using a wide variety of materials.

Today, there are many options to mask communications indoors. The most widespread of them:

  • with built-in furniture. This is the simplest and best option;
  • create a drywall construction. Such a box will make it possible to qualitatively and beautifully sheathe communications, including a gas pipe in the country house;
  • chipboard box. Here you can create lightweight construction, which is suitable for any interior;
  • decoration. In this situation, sheathing can be carried out by the most various materials- twine, wallpaper, paint, artificial stones etc.

Note! The choice of plating method should be done taking into account your financial capabilities, as well as being guided by your own preferences.
With so many options, you can disguise the hated pipe, even gas, in the most suitable way for you. But most often, a drywall box is chosen as a disguise, since it can be easily made with your own hands.

Making calculations

The creation of a drywall box for masking pipes requires calculations and the creation of a scheme, according to which the structure will be installed in the future.
We make the drawing as follows:

box drawing

  • we put on paper communications that we mask;
  • the distance between the pipes and the frame is at least 3 cm;
  • we draw the elements of the metal frame indicating the locations of the jumpers.

Note! In the drawing, you need to lay down the dimensions of the frame and the thickness of the drywall sheets.
The drawing will help you accurately calculate the amount of materials needed for work.

Preparing for installation

Preparation for work on the creation of a drywall box or false wall involves the following steps:

  • clearing the place of future work;
  • wall primer. If you need to close the gas pipe, prime with an anti-mold and fungus agent;
  • on the walls we apply markings corresponding to the drawing.

Now you are all set to install the structure.

Tools required for the job

A drywall box can only be made with the following tools:

Tools for the job

  • perforator and drill with drills;
  • tape measure and pencil;
  • building level;
  • spatula.

Now you can definitely start the disguise itself.

Main stage of work

For many people, the question "how to close the pipes with drywall" is quite complicated. But if you follow our instructions, this issue will stop worrying you.
Installation of such a design always begins with the creation of a metal profile:

  • to the markings that are applied to the floor or walls, we attach the profile guides;

Note! Instead of metal profiles, wooden slats can also be used, but they should be pre-treated with special tools.

  • we drill holes in them with a puncher and fasten them to the dowels;
  • with a high box, at intervals of 50-60 cm, we install rack profiles. They will play the role of jumpers. Jumpers are required if the distance between the racks is more than 25 cm.

box frame

In a situation where the elements to be sheathed are in the corner, we begin to install the frame from the corners. All stages of mounting the frame should be carried out using the building level.

Sheathed pipes

If there is a need, then at the end of the installation of the metal structure we fix soundproofing materials. It is best if you carry out these actions simultaneously with plasterboard wall cladding.
Upon completion of the installation of the frame, it can begin to be sheathed with drywall. sheathing happens like this:

  • cut sheets into pieces right size. It is best that these are long stripes, especially if the box is high. For cutting we use a knife on drywall;
  • We fasten the sheets to self-tapping screws.

At the end of the installation, you should get an impeccably smooth design.

Shutdown

At the end of the work, you should give your design an aesthetic and beautiful appearance. To do this, you will need to do the following:

  • process all the joints of the sheets with sickle and putty;
  • it is also necessary to putty the places where the screws are screwed;
  • after that, we prime the entire box;
  • the final step is to apply finishing putty. Its layer should be very thin.

Then we give the structure its final look by painting, wallpapering, etc. That's it, your communication disguise is ready!

Socket boxes and the secrets of their installation in drywall Drywall planers, options, pros and cons

Communications passing through the bathroom most often represent an unattractive sight. by the most simple solution in this case, there may be an invitation to a master repairman. However, if you have the skills to work with the tool, you have an idea of how to make a pipe box in the bathroom, then it is quite possible to do it on your own.

Moisture resistant drywall box

There is only one solution for ennobling communications - to close it with a decorative box. Occasionally, when the piping is dispersed over the surface of the wall, it is possible to use a false wall. In most apartments, the layouts are not particularly spacious. When the risers are located in the corners or in the case of a compact localization of the wiring best solution will use the bathroom box. So you can get the most compact arrangement, creating the illusion of a more spacious room.

Sewer and water pipes without a box look unaesthetic

There are two more questions that need to be resolved before starting work - what can a bath box be made of and what size should it be. The main requirement for materials is resistance to high humidity:

  • Moisture resistant drywall;
  • PVC wall panels;
  • Plastic box-channel.

Pipes hidden in a drywall box

The pipes are hidden under the frame for the PVC panels

Pipes in a plastic duct

As for the dimensions of the bath box, they should be determined by the principle of reasonable expediency. Pipes must be completely closed decorative walls with little margin. The size of the internal empty space should provide, if repair is necessary, the possibility of access through a removable hatch to key components (revisions, places for installing gaskets, threaded connections of pipelines).

Pipe box with inspection door

Disadvantages of drywall

The do-it-yourself box in the bathroom is most often made of moisture-resistant drywall. This is due to the low cost, availability and ease of processing of the material. Moisture-resistant paints or tiles can be used to finish the assembled structure.

When purchasing material, you should pay attention to the color of the sheet - moisture-resistant drywall has green color outer paper layer.

The main drawback to be considered is the relatively small mechanical strength. When making a box in the bathroom, a drywall sheet is easy enough to accidentally break. In addition, the resistance of the material to prolonged exposure to moisture is quite limited. Protective compositions only the outer paper layer is impregnated. When cutting big sheet, the resulting edges will be exposed.

Appearance of moisture resistant drywall

The most critical is the formation of puddles on the floor near the wall of the box under the bathroom. In this case, quite a long time may elapse from the moment water appears to detection. Moisture can seep inside through the micro-slits at the junction of the box wall to the floor. When installing the box in the bathroom, you can protect the bottom edge of the drywall sheet from getting wet with a strip of silicone sealant.

What tools and materials will be needed for work

Making a decorative bath box is not the most difficult, but still enough laborious process. In addition to drywall itself, you will need a number of auxiliary materials:

  • Metal galvanized profiles - a frame is assembled from them;
  • Fasteners - self-tapping screws and dowel-nails for connecting the elements of the supporting structure, attaching it to the surface of the floor and walls, fixing drywall sheets;
  • Silicone sealant - for processing junctions with the floor;
  • Serpyanka and putty - they are necessary for masking the heads of self-tapping screws and sealing the joints of sheets (used when preparing the surface of the bathroom box for painting);
  • Inspection hatch - for maintenance.

Assembling a frame from a metal profile

The set of tools that will be needed to perform the work is not so big. It is quite possible to get by with the necessary minimum, consisting of a screwdriver with a set of bits, a puncher, a construction knife and metal shears.

Necessary tools for making a box

Carcass execution

Work begins with marking the walls, floor, and, if necessary, the ceiling. The size and location of the lines will reflect the position of the walls of the box. To prevent distortions of the frame, the markup should be checked by level. Situations should be avoided when the walls of the drywall box in the bathroom will interfere with the opening of the furniture door or the front door.

The components of the frame are mounted according to the level

If all the rules are followed, and the markup is done correctly, you can start assembling the box frame for the bath. Metal profiles are cut into the required size with metal scissors. First, the segments are attached to the floor and walls - they create reference points for attaching the frame. Then, the installation of vertical racks of the supporting frame of the box under the bath is carried out. The assembly is completed by the installation of the upper guide, which combines all the elements into a single rigid structure. For maintenance of metering devices and sewer inspection, auxiliary guides are installed. In the future, they will serve as the basis on which the revision hatch will be attached.

The frame is assembled from metal guides

The profiles are connected to each other using self-tapping screws (“seeds”). On the surface of the metal, a notch is made to prevent the tip of the screw from slipping. Resting on these recesses, you can easily install fasteners.

Assembling the frame

A frame is assembled around pipes laid on the floor

In the frame, it is necessary to provide places for passing pipes

Frame sheathing

Standard sheets of drywall are cut into the required, pre-calculated size. It's a fairly simple process:

  • The sheet is placed on flat surface(in extreme cases, cutting in a vertical or slightly inclined position is allowed);
  • Measured using a tape measure required size and with a knife small risks are made on the surface;
  • A metal ruler or an even long wooden lath is superimposed on the marks obtained;
  • A construction knife makes an incision along the guide;
  • Drywall breaks off along the received line;
  • The resulting edge, if necessary, is trimmed with a knife.

The frame is sheathed with drywall

Cut sheets of drywall are attached to the frame with self-tapping screws. The sheet is pressed tightly, the screw is screwed first into the sheet, and then into the metal profile. As a result, the entire frame area (with the exception of the space provided for the hatch) must be sewn up. To facilitate puttying, the fastener caps must be sunk when screwing. To avoid cracking at the edges, fastening must be done with a small indent (2-3 cm).

Finishing preparation

In order to protect the material of the bathroom box from water, all joints and junctions are treated with a sealant. It is best to use silicone with fungicide additives to prevent mold growth. Particularly careful sealing of the junctions should be carried out for the box under the bathroom, where access will be difficult.

Surface preparation before tiling is limited to treatment with a primer solution. The entire area of the box under the bathroom and along the walls in the open space is covered with a working composition with a brush or roller. In internal and outside corners perforated corners are fixed, and then the tiles are glued using specialized compounds. It can be both dry mixes that need to be diluted with water, and mastics ready for use. Sometimes to save Supplies the box under the bathroom is covered with paint instead of tiles. Preparation for this type of work consists in gluing with a sickle the junctions of individual sheets. A leveling layer of putty is applied over the reinforcing tape and recessed fastener heads.

At the end of the finishing, an inspection hatch is installed. Its installation is carried out using standard mounting tabs. It is necessary that the hatch coincides in size with the hole left under it, and its size is sufficient for servicing.

Tiled plasterboard box with hatch

The use of finished polymer products

The pipe box in the bathroom can be assembled using plastic materials - finishing wall panels and channels. In the first case, the sequence of work is almost identical to that already considered - the frame is assembled and its sheathing is performed. Installation of plastic panels is carried out using building adhesives "liquid nails". To make the whole structure look neat, the joints and corners are masked with decorative strips. The inspection hatch is installed in its seat in the bathroom box, fixed with fastening tabs to the surface of the panel profiles.

A good solution is to use standard plastic channels to make a bathroom box in which you can hide the piping. For this purpose, both specialized products and air duct elements are used. The advantage of this method is the absence of the need to perform additional operations (frame assembly, material cutting, finishing). Just choose the right color plastic box under the bathroom for pipes of the required dimensions and fix them on the wall with a puncher.

Difficulties arise when it is necessary to hide sewer riser. It can be quite difficult to find shaped parts from which it is possible to make a box for a bathtub for pipes of the desired size. Another point to consider is the installation of metering devices. It will have to be done either open or using a plastic box.

Regardless of what material is chosen for the manufacture of the box, all operations (cutting, installation, finishing) must be performed carefully. Otherwise, there is no point in taking it on, there is no point in doing the work - the best option would be to invite a hired craftsman.

Pipes are hidden in a box of PVC panels

If you want to get a beautiful bathroom as a result of the repair, then you will need to try not only with the choice of ceramic tiles and sanitary ware, but also with the preparation of the room itself. For example, it is worth hiding not too much beautiful pipes, which are unlikely to fit into the design of the room. How to make a pipe box in the bathroom and what it can be made from, you will learn from this article.

Is it possible to build a box?

The design of the box is usually quite rigid and does not involve simple dismantling for pipe repair. Therefore, before erecting a structure, it is necessary to check their condition. If you have old communications, then it is advisable to replace them with plastic. When replacing, try not to use soldering, mount whole pieces of pipes.

The fewer connections in communications, the less likely you will have to break the box to fix the leak. It may never be needed.

How to make a pipe box in the bathroom: 2 options

You can close the pipes with a box by building it directly around them, or close the entire wall with communications, including pipes. The first option creates a small threshold if the pipes run parallel to the floor or a column if they are vertical. In addition, you can save on the material from which the box will be mounted. The second option reduces the space of the room, but this can be partially corrected by making a niche for storage and niche shelves closed with doors.

Materials for creating a box

The bathroom is a special room in your home, so the materials for mounting the box should be:

  • moisture resistant;
  • environmentally friendly.

To mount the box, you will need these materials to be also not too thick and not heavy. Given the parameters, you can use the following materials:

  • moisture resistant drywall;
  • moisture resistant plywood;
  • plastic.

It is more convenient and reliable to use drywall or plastic to create a box.

Advantages of using drywall for a box in the bathroom

It is worth making a box of moisture-resistant drywall, because:

  • good moisture resistance. It has been used in such premises for many years;
  • it is easy to cut;
  • all hardware stores sell moisture-resistant drywall - there will be no difficulty in buying it;
  • on top of drywall, you can lay tiles, paint or apply any other decorative coating.

Advantages of using plastic for a box in the bathroom

Plastic panels are also a good option for mounting the box:

  • quick installation that does not require a lot of tools;
  • excellent moisture resistance if the joints are smeared with sealant during installation;
  • immediately get an attractive surface with which it is easy to operate;
  • the material is not afraid of temperature changes;
  • simple and quick repair or dismantling.

Drywall pipe box in the bathroom

To begin with, we will consider all the nuances of creating a duct for pipes in the bathroom, mounted from drywall. If you have ever twisted drywall with your own hands, then skim through the most important tips in this section and its last part about collapsible design. Everything else you already know.

Tools for creating a drywall box

To install a drywall box, you will need the following tools:

  • metal scissors;
  • screwdriver or screwdriver;
  • self-tapping screws and, possibly, dowels;
  • roulette;
  • pencil;
  • level.

You probably already have most of what you need, if not all of it.

Instructions for building a drywall box

  1. It is necessary to measure the walls near which the pipes are located. Make a detailed plan for the placement of connections (locations of possible leaks) for the future. Doors should be located opposite the meters and valves. If you want the box to look uniform, then make removable parts of the structure instead of doors.
  2. Make markings future design on walls, on the floor and on the ceiling (for vertical structures).

The distance between the pipes and the walls of the box is at least 2.5-3 cm!

  1. Using a galvanized profile for marking, make a frame for the box. To do this, you will need self-tapping screws and a screwdriver if the walls are made of drywall. You can get by with a screwdriver, but the work will take more time. If the walls are brick or concrete, then use dowels and screws.

If you are installing a box for vertical pipes, then first make guides along the walls. Then the front edge is attached with the help of suspensions or a curved edge, and only after it - the galvanized profile is mounted on the ceiling and on the floor.

In case of installation vertical box non-standard designs with several edges (corners) are quite possible.

If the vertical box is more than 1.5 meters, then when mounting the frame between the guides, it is necessary to make jumpers from the profile. The maximum distance between jumpers is 1 meter.

  1. Prepare drywall sheets for installation so that there are as few joints as possible.
  2. Attach the drywall sheets in place using self-tapping screws. Do not forget to make a hole for further access to communications.
  3. Putty the corner or corners of the structure and the joints between the sheets.
  4. Decorate the box in the same way as the rest of the walls in the room, including installing the baseboard.
  5. Insert the door for access to communications.

Similarly, you can close the pipes in the toilet.

At the beginning of the article, we talked about the fact that even a full-wall box can be made useful design. See how you can make a niche in the video:

Collapsible construction of a drywall box

It is possible to install a collapsible drywall structure when building a pipe box in the bathroom. To do this, fasten the sheets along the very edge and do not putty them. Finishing work are not produced at the edges - they are closed with the help of corners. Thus, when you need to disassemble the structure, you simply remove the corners and unscrew all the screws. It will not be difficult to assemble such a box after repair work with pipes - it will take 20 minutes on the strength.

Plastic pipe box in the bathroom

The easiest option for a box in the bathroom is to mount it from plastic panels. Even if you have ceramic tiles everywhere, this material will fit perfectly into the interior. The main thing is to choose desired color And don't overdo it with the pattern. The best option become monophonic plastic panels.

Tools for mounting plastic panels

For installation you will need:

  • a drill or a screwdriver with a tile drill, if you have finished finishing with ceramic tiles;
  • self-tapping screws or dowels for the box;
  • cutter for plastic, grinder or electric jigsaw;
  • roulette;
  • level;
  • silicone.

As you can see, there are much fewer tools than in the case of drywall installation. And if you add also the tools for finishing the tiles and the time for laying it, it becomes clear that a box made of plastic panels is an ideal option!

Instructions for building a box of plastic panels

Let's take a step-by-step look at how to make a box of plastic panels:

  1. Make a markup for the box. How to do this, see above, in the instructions for drywall construction.
  2. Install the box from the profile. It can be made the same as for drywall, or you can abandon the front face.
  3. Prepare plastic panels according to the dimensions of the structure.
  4. Glue the panels to the profile using silicone.
  5. Glue the corner between the panels with silicone.

Options for service access doors

It is imperative to leave for yourself the possibility of access to meters, pipe connections and taps. To do this, you need a door or several opposite these elements. It can be bought (hatch, blinds, built-in door) or made. If you make a door with your own hands, then make it from the same material as the rest of the structure. It should be decorated in the same way as the box itself. To make it convenient to use, glue or screw a small furniture handle (these are usually installed on kitchen sets). In order to prevent the door from opening spontaneously, it must be equipped with magnets. You can make an invisible door. How it is mounted is shown in the video below.

Communications located in the bathrooms look unattractive, therefore, in most cases, when starting an apartment renovation, the owners of the living space want to mask the pipes in the bathroom and toilet by building a drywall box for pipes. Someone invites a master for this, but if there is at least a minimal idea of construction tool you can close the pipes yourself.

Step-by-step instructions for making a pipe box

Before you start assembling a drywall box, you need to draw up a project. Do not ignore this stage, as it is one of the most important, since the quality of the box made on its own depends on it.

Step-by-step instructions for assembling a drywall box to hide sewers will be described using the example of a bathroom and toilet, the installation process for hiding pipes in the kitchen is identical to that described.

No need to create precise drawing, it is enough just to make a schematic drawing with the dimensions of the future design transferred to it.

Preliminary markup

Markup steps:

  • As soon as the drawing is completed, it must be transferred to the space around the communications;
  • With a pencil, you need to make a mark on the wall in the place where the pipes protrude from the corner the furthest, while stepping back 5 cm;
  • As soon as the marks are made on both sides, you need to draw a straight perpendicular line on the wall, passing exactly along this mark;
  • To make the line even, you can use a plumb line or a laser level;
  • Further, it should be noted on the floor and ceiling, the location of the guide profile, for this you need a building corner. Substitute the corner with a short edge to the corner at the intersection of the floor and wall, and draw a straight line on the floor. The angle between the strip on the wall and the strip on the floor should be 90 degrees;
  • The same should be done on the ceiling.

The markup is ready, you can proceed to the next step.

Mounting and installation of a frame from profiles

Before the construction of the metal frame, you need to cut right amount profile segments equal to marked lines.

See in the video: assembling the frame for the future GKL box.

How is the installation done:

  • You need to start by installing guide profiles on the floor and ceiling, and then on the walls. They are installed strictly along the lines, and fixed with dowel-nails. To do this, press the profile strongly against the floor and drill holes in the floor directly through it at a distance of 15 cm from each other. Insert dowels into the holes and screw in the screws;
  • After that, you can proceed to the installation of rack profiles. It is inserted along the guides from above and below. The profile is pressed and fixed with dowel-nails. The ends of the flexible connection are bent inward, or cut off. The main requirement in this situation is that the profile must be level;
  • The next step will be the installation of the corner connecting profile, it is screwed with small self-tapping screws to the intersection of the guides at the corner of the future box;

Fastening rack profile to the guide using self-tapping screws

  • Then the stiffening frame is mounted in the pipe box - the profile at the wall and the profile at the corner are connected in small segments. The segments are located strictly parallel to the floor at a distance of 30 cm from each other, along the entire height of the frame on both sides.

Important! The entire assembly must be level controlled, even a small deviation, which can lead to a poor-quality assembly of the structure. This manual will help you assemble and install a box that can cover the heating pipes.

The technological hatch must be equipped in a box in without fail, since free access must be provided to communications. If you intend to install an invisibility hatch, then you need to do this even before installing drywall.

Firstly, under this design, reinforcement is made from profiles, in size.

Secondly, such hatches are quite heavy, so you need to fix it carefully, not sparing self-tapping screws.

Also at this stage, it is necessary to determine where the ventilation grill will be installed, it is necessary so that condensation does not form inside the box.

Plasterboard sheathing

The penultimate stage in the construction of the box with your own hands, sheathing the frame with drywall:

  • Measure all parts of the frame and transfer the dimensions to the GKL sheet, making a kind of pattern;
  • With the help of a construction knife, the details are cut out;
  • Then each detail is presented to the place of its permanent installation and screwed with black self-tapping screws every 15 cm;
  • Before you screw the part to the installation site of the hatch, you need to measure the distance well from all sides, transfer the dimensions to the GKL part and cut a hole, the same should be done with the ventilation hole;
  • Fix the detail.

Box finish

The last stage is the finishing of the drywall box. Before use facing material you need to close up all the seams on the GKL. For this, plaster and sickle are used.

The seams need to be embroidered at an angle of 45 degrees with a mounting knife. Then a small layer is applied gypsum mixture, well tamping into the seams.

Jointing seams with a mounting knife

A sickle is glued to the raw mortar and a second layer of plaster is applied. Left to dry.

Applying a layer of plaster

If it is supposed to finish the box with tiles, then it remains just to prime the structure twice and proceed with the cladding.

We decided to paint, get ready to putty the box in two layers, while it is worth installing a perforated corner.

Pipes in the bathroom always interfere with the perception of its interior. In some cases, there is no other way out than to make a pipe box in the bathroom to hide unaesthetic details of the situation. But this method of solving the problem has its own characteristics, which it is desirable to keep in mind.

How to choose the right materials?

It is technically easy to make a box in the bathroom with your own hands, but you should take into account the features of this room. High humidity and possible splashes on the walls dictate the owner to give preference to moisture-resistant materials. These include:

  • moisture resistant drywall;

    Moisture resistant drywall

  • plastic panels;

    Plastic panels

  • special types of plywood.

    Plywood moisture resistant

With a low ability to absorb moisture, sheet materials are easy to cut and process. They can be decorated according to overall design bathroom by painting, tiling or plastering as needed.

It is required to fix the sheet material on the frame, therefore, in addition to plasterboard or other sheets, you must also select the material for the guides. It is most convenient to use ready-made profiles for the installation of drywall. This is metal constructions strong and light at the same time. They are easy to cut and attach to each other and walls. Installation of sheet material is carried out by means of self-tapping screws.

An alternative to profiles can be a wooden block. Planks 3-5 cm thick do not make the structure heavier and are easily connected with self-tapping screws. Their only drawback may be susceptibility to rotting in contact with moist air bathroom.

How to prepare a workplace?

Before you make a box in the bathroom with your own hands, you need to determine whether it will close the communications directly or capture the entire adjacent wall. In each individual case, either option may seem preferable. Each of them has its own characteristics:

  1. If you hide the entire wall under the panels of the box, on which the ugly pipe is located, then nothing will interfere with any design decision. A neat, even false wall can be finished as you like. But the method also has a drawback: the panels are located at a distance of about 20 cm from the bathroom wall. It is by this amount that the length or width of the room will decrease. In small apartments, this can be significant.

    Frame for false wall

  2. By covering only that part of the wall where communications pass with a box, you can save some space in the bathroom. But the box will remain an eye-catching and interfering interior detail.

For a radical solution to the issue, some place in the space behind the panels a whole system of storage for the right things. Such a pipe bathroom box turns into a kind of rack with doors.

How to make a box of drywall, panels, plywood or other material is a personal matter for each owner. In order to imagine the possibilities of each of the methods, you must first draw a sketch and draw a rough plan of the situation in the bathroom from it. According to the drawings, the amount of necessary materials is also calculated, taking into account the height of the room, the width of the box and the presence of additional parts in it.

After that, you can proceed to the procurement and preparation of everything you need, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • profiles (bar);
  • self-tapping screws for connecting and fastening sheets or panels;
  • dowels for fastening the profile to a concrete wall;
  • perforator with nozzles for drilling concrete and metal, with a screwdriver;
  • hacksaw for wood or metal, depending on the material of the frame;
  • plumb, level, tape measure.

Before starting the installation of the box in the pipe bathroom, it is necessary to find out the condition of the communications. AT closed space any minor leak may go unnoticed for some time until it occurs emergency situation. Due to an unnoticed defect, a bathroom repair may be required later, so it is best to identify the problem in time and fix it.

Marking the frame for the box

Most often, sewerage and water supply risers are located side by side and run vertically in one of the corners. Therefore, marking the place under the box in the bathroom with your own hands should start from the ceiling. This will make it possible in the future to lower the exact vertical to the floor and make the planes perfectly even.

If you plan to sew up the entire wall with panels, then near the pipes in the bathroom with your own hands you need to measure the depth of the space between the wall and the location of the profile for the plasterboard or bar. In this case, it must be taken into account that the guide must be at least 5 cm away from the communications. Remember the distance found in order to make a mark in the opposite corner. Connect the dots with a straight line across the ceiling.

At two arbitrarily chosen points on this line, lower the plumb line to the floor. Put labels corresponding to the points selected on the ceiling. Draw a straight line through them on the floor.

It is desirable to perform the same algorithm of actions if the pipes run horizontally. Accurate marking will help to make the frame for the box in the bathroom very neatly and without distortions. In this case, the line on the ceiling will not be needed, so it is better not to draw it, but to put marks near opposite walls. When lowering the plumb line, it will be necessary to mark the points of the front face of the box on the floor, and the junction of its edge to the walls - on them. In this case, the height of the box is determined depending on the height of the pipes above the floor, taking into account a gap of 5-7 cm.

horizontal box

In order to mark the frame of a vertical drywall corner box in the bathroom, you will have to act a little differently:

  • set aside along the ceiling the distance from one of the adjacent walls parallel to the neighboring one, taking into account the gaps of 5-7 cm from the pipes to the guides;
  • do the same from the adjacent wall, at the intersection of the lines put a point from which the plumb line will be lowered;
  • use this tool to mark the projections of 3 points (connections to walls and intersection of lines) on the floor.

It is quite simple to draw an angle according to the marked marks. You need to connect the junction point with the intersection point and repeat this from the adjacent wall. The resulting rectangle will be identical to the one drawn on the ceiling.

Frame installation

The marked lines indicate the location of the inner edge of the profile. Cut the material to the measured lengths of the sides of the box that will serve as the pipe box in the drywall bathroom. Attach dowels in advance drilled holes profiles on the ceiling, floor and walls. The slats of the frame must be aligned according to the markup and additionally check their verticality and horizontality, eliminating defects.

Profile fixing

The location of rigidly fixed parts will be different:

  1. For a fully wired wall, horizontal rails are installed on the ceiling and floor. Then 2 verticals are attached between them on opposite walls. If it is necessary to build shelves inside this space, it will be necessary to additionally install profiles on the wall to be closed.
  2. If a horizontal box is made in the bathroom, you need to strengthen the planks on the floor, on the wall above the pipe and adjacent walls (vertically and horizontally) with your own hands.
  3. Do-it-yourself vertical frame for a box in the bathroom is assembled from racks on adjacent walls and squares on the ceiling and floor.

After the parts adjacent to the walls and ceilings are fixed, you can install connecting elements that form an angle or plane. At the same time, for a vertical box, the same front post is installed, for a horizontal one, it is fixed in the appropriate position. On a fully wired wall without internal equipment space, you will need to put several verticals in increments that will allow you to attach the panels used (gypsum board, plastic or plywood) along the edges and in the center.

To ensure structural rigidity, crossbars are placed connecting long parallel profiles. Their location depends on the orientation of the box itself. In any case, the orientation of the crossbars must be perpendicular to the main rails.

Box cladding

Depending on the location of the pipe box in the bathroom, the installation of the cladding will differ in each case. This is dictated by the nuances of joining panels made of plasterboard or plywood. assembly plastic parts produced by its own special technology.

For mounting sheet materials on a do-it-yourself frame, you should cut them according to the measurements taken from it - this is the length and width of each flat part. To make a drywall box in the bathroom, it is advisable to use whole sheets so that there are as few joints as possible.

If the pipes have a fitting connection, a faucet or other place of possible leakage, then a convenient hole should be provided in the wall of the drywall box. It will give access to a responsible place. In order to close it, a small secret door can be made. It is desirable to install additional crossbars along the edges of the hole.

Hole in the box

GKL or plywood are attached to a completely sewn wall in the same way as with normal alignment: the fasteners are screwed in at the corners of the sheet, along the edges in increments of about 20 cm and in the center. In this case, the joint of adjacent sheets necessarily falls on the profile bar. The heads of the screws must be sunk into the material so that they are not visible after finishing.

When sheathing a vertical frame that covers only pipes, first mount the side parts that make up the box in the bathroom of plasterboard or plywood. The measurement and cutting must be done so that the outer edges match perfectly with the corner of the profile. They can be cut if necessary. sharp knife flush with the corresponding plane.

The front panel must be cut out so that it covers the edges of the side sheets. You can attach the GKL to the frame with special short self-tapping screws, using a screwdriver nozzle for this purpose.

With a horizontal pipe in the bathroom, you must first screw the vertical, front panel onto the frame. After that, set the horizontal one so that it overlaps the edge of the previous one. Such a measure will make the drywall pipe box less vulnerable to splashes when taking a shower and other hygiene procedures. You can tile plasterboard or plywood with tiles. The tile will reliably protect the material.

Plastic panels as cladding

Making a plastic box for pipes in the bathroom is much easier. Lightweight moisture resistant material does not require additional protection.

plastic box

To close the pipes in the bathroom, a box of panels can be done like this:

  • install on guides start profile, fastening - self-tapping screws;
  • measure and cut the panel, insert it into the profile, fix it with screws;
  • glue or screw the adjacent element to the corner profile and connect it to the installed PVC panel;
  • attach the profile to the frame and assemble the other side.

In construction companies, you can purchase a hatch for PVC panels. It will be required if it is necessary to make an inspection hole in the panel.

Currently, trade organizations also offer XPS panels that do not need to install a frame. They are fastened by means of an end plate installed on the ceiling and threaded legs, which raise and fix the panel.

Video instruction

Everyone knows that gypsum craton structures are actively used for shelter. engineering communications, in particular plumbing pipes for water supply and sewerage. They (designs) perfectly arrange piping with minimal cost. However, any plumbing pipes must be fixed along the route, and this must be done reliably and, if possible, professionally.

How water pipes are attached to drywall construction

According to existing regulatory documents(SNiP 3.05.01-85 Internal sanitary systems), plumbing pipes should be fastened to structures as follows:

  • Welding of pipes and fastening at the joints is not allowed;
  • Mounting on horizontal tracks ( steel pipes) is carried out according to the table:
  • Vertical connections shorter than 1500 mm do NOT require fastening;
  • Risers are fastened through 3000 mm.
  • Polypropylene pipes are attached according to this table:

  • It is worth adding to these standards that water outlets, wall-mounted faucets and other wall-mounted plumbing fittings must be fixed.

As you can see from the regulatory data, plumbing pipes for water supply and heating need to be fixed every 50-60 cm. Water supplies to mixers, toilets, bidets, barrels rarely exceed 1500 mm in length, so they, according to the regulations, do not need to be fixed. We return to the last statement below.

Horizontal tracks

Horizontal water supply and sewerage routes can pass:

  • Inside the plasterboard partition;
  • Pass along the wall and close with a drywall construction.

The second option, wall mounting, is carried out according to the standards, with mounting on clamps or clamps and traverses. See the tables above for horizontal fastening distances. The distance from the water and heating pipes to the drywall structures should not be less than 35 mm. (clause 3.3. SNIP 3.05.01-85).

If the water supply (heating) pipes pass inside the drywall structure (partition), then traverses for fastening are installed along the pipe route. Distance between traverses 50-60 cm for polypropylene pipes and 1.5-2 meters for steel pipes. Pipe diameter up to 20 mm. See tables above for other fastening distances.

Traverses for horizontal pipes fastened vertically. To fix the traverses themselves in the partition structure, it is necessary to install horizontal profiles (PN) of drywall. With a large number of pipes, PN profiles must be replaced with traverses or UA profiles.

class="eliadunit">

Water supply pipes

According to SNiP, a water supply from steel pipes shorter than 1500 mm does not require fastening. Do not require fastening of supply lines made of polyethylene pipes. Carts from plastic pipes fastened if they are longer than 1000 mm.

This is according to the standards, however, according to internal technological maps KNAUF any vertical supply of water pipes in the construction of drywall requires rigid fixing on the traverses and mounting strips(plates). Here are the wiring diagrams.

Sewer pipes: fixing pipes in plasterboard construction

Sewer pipes laid horizontally require fastening with special clamps of their calculation, two clamps per full elbow of the sewer pipe (2 meters) or one clamp per part of the elbow. With vertical laying, the number of clamps is reduced to one per elbow.

To fasten the clamps themselves, wooden branded traverses are laid in the structure (photo) or simple boards that are attached to uprights partitions (structures). Clamps are attached to wooden mortgage screws.

Conclusion

When making a partition in a house or apartment, you are unlikely to have to use pipe fastening options in a drywall construction. Rather, you need to pay attention to the fastening of pipes at installation sites. plumbing fixtures. Particular attention is paid to the reliable fastening of faucets and sinks to the wall. Agree, even the most original design decision bathroom interior design can come to naught due to unsightly engineering communications. You can save the situation by skillfully disguising unpresentable elements.

At the same time, it is not necessary to be a virtuoso of building skills - just choose decorative materials, prepare tools and stock up on free time.

We will show you how to hide the pipes in the bathroom, while providing access for system maintenance. After studying our instructions, you can independently transform the bathroom, saving money on the services of plumbers.

The first thing to do before you start sealing the pipes in the bathroom is to decide on the appropriate material.

When choosing a material for hiding pipes in the bathroom, it is not entirely correct to be guided by the purely aesthetic component of the products.

Criteria to consider when choosing a material:

  • lightness. So that the design does not clutter up the already limited space, it is necessary to select materials for fixing which there is no need to build heavy frames. You can use ordinary wooden slats or metal profiles.
  • moisture resistance. High humidity in the bathroom is a common occurrence. The materials used in its arrangement will certainly be influenced by it. Therefore, preference should be given to those options that do not absorb moisture and do not deform when it settles on the surface.
  • Sustainability to the impact chemical reagents. Without the use of household "chemistry" to maintain cleanliness in the bathroom is quite problematic. At general cleaning rooms are subject to processing all vertical and horizontal surfaces. Therefore, the materials used for their lining must painlessly endure direct contact with household cleaning products.

To hide communications in the bathroom, decorative MDF boards are great, Wall panels from plastic, sheets of moisture-resistant drywall.

In the cladding of wall structures, decorative hardboard slabs covered with a layer of melamine laminate and 3D gypsum panels will look interesting

Various textures popular in last years gypsum 3D panels are able to imitate wood, brick, mosaic and create fancy patterns on the walls.

An important point: regardless of the type of facing material, before closing the pipes, you should make sure that they are reliable. By closing a pipeline that has defects, there is a high risk that in the near future it will be necessary to disassemble the structure in an emergency manner.

Possible ways to disguise

There are many options that suggest how you can hide the pipes in the bathroom. They differ in the form and purpose of the erected structure, as well as the types of materials used. We offer to consider the most popular among them.

Method #1. Construction of a drywall box

Drywall is a practical and easy-to-use material with which it is easy to solve many problems in interior design and redevelopment of the premises. This material will also come in handy in order to close the pipes in the toilet and bathroom as aesthetically as possible.

Since the bathroom is a room where high humidity, when arranging it, only moisture-resistant drywall sheets are used

The main difference between moisture-resistant drywall and its traditional counterpart is that its coating is impregnated with impregnated and antifungal compounds. Externally, the material differs only in color: moisture-resistant plasterboards are painted green.

The basis for the drywall box is a frame assembled from rack profiles measuring 27 x 60 mm and guides measuring 26 x 27 mm.

When constructing a box, the first step is to install metal carcass, pre-cut pieces of drywall sheets are attached to it, and then tiles are laid

The decorative box is constructed in several stages:

  1. Markings are applied on the surface of the floor and walls. Having determined the most protruding point on the communications along the vertical surface, they retreat 3-5 cm from it and draw a line. By the same principle, marking a horizontal surface is performed.
  2. Along the drawn line, the rails of the guide profile are fixed by means of dowels. They are attached to the crossbars from the rack profile. The elements are connected by installing crab clamps, placing them at a distance of 15-20 cm.
  3. To cushion the structure, a special tape is laid in the places where the frame fits to the communications.
  4. The frame is sheathed with plasterboard strips. When mounting sheets, it is important to ensure that the front part is located outside. When tightening the self-tapping screws, the caps must be “drowned” in the material within one millimeter.
  5. Make a door for the box. AT finished construction cut a hole for . To make it invisible, the cut-out blank-door is put on hinges and covered with a finish along with the box body.
  6. The surface of the box is rubbed with a grater and plastered, carefully sealing all the seams.

To strengthen the strength of the corners of the box before applying putty, it is better to equip them with perforated corners. And in order for the composition to better lie on the joints of the sheets, it is recommended to remove a small chamfer from their edges before starting work.

When choosing a material for finishing drywall, whether it be tiles, paint or wallpaper, they are guided by the general style of the room.

If the box is used to decorate pipes of a heating or hot water supply system, several holes must be made in its upper part. Through them, warm air will flow into the room.

In order to quickly detect a leak in the event of a leak, a small hole should be provided in the lower part of the box.

For finishing a drywall box, it is more practical to use latex-based paints - they are resistant to fading and are not afraid of moisture

When fixing the profile to the floor, it is important to try to ensure that no displacement occurs at the time of drilling, since any error can affect the quality of the structure.

If the walls and floor of the bathroom are tiled, be extremely careful when drilling the coating, as it may crumble under the action of pressure-rotational movements. To eliminate such a nuisance, you need to stick a piece of adhesive tape on the drilling area, and when working with a drill, reduce the number of revolutions to a minimum.

With the help of a drywall box, you can also equip a screen under the bathroom. A variety of ways to mask the space under the bathroom is presented.

Method #2. Decorating with tiles

This method is very similar to lining pipes with drywall. But it involves more labor. The main advantage of a tile box is good combination aesthetic qualities and excellent moisture resistance of the structure.

Consider how to seal the sewer and water pipes in the bathroom using ceramic tiles.

A tile box is able to harmoniously fit into the overall lining of the bathroom, making communications almost invisible and at the same time creating additional space for saving small things needed in the household

The basis for the manufacture of the box can be both a wooden and a metal frame. When using wooden elements, they must be treated with a moisture-repellent composition before starting work.

To simplify the task and prevent installation errors, it is better to draw up a sketch of the future design, on which you need to indicate the dimensions and indicate the places where the elements are attached.

Approximate course of action:

  1. Produce measurement of the zone of passage of water and sewer pipes.
  2. A frame is constructed from wooden slats or metal profiles, fixing it to the floor, walls to the ceiling.
  3. The frame is sheathed with moisture-resistant plywood or chipboard sheets.
  4. On the front side structures make a hole for a technical hatch.
  5. Plywood is pasted over with a reinforcing mesh.
  6. Tiles are laid on top of the grid. The service hatch is also pasted over with it.
  7. The tile joints are rubbed and covered with antifungal mastic.

The shape of the constructed box is largely determined by the type of pipe laying. You can build a ledge under which it is convenient to hide the sewer pipes of the combined bathroom. In this case, you can even enter it.

If desired, the box can be completely brought out to the level of the sink. Such a solution will make it possible not only to hide all unsightly communications, but also to provide additional space for storing bottles with household chemicals.

For cover inspection hatch it is convenient to use ready-made plastic doors, which are commercially available in a wide range of colors and sizes

The arrangement of the inspection hatch is necessary condition if the part of the pipeline to be decorated is equipped with valves, meters or any other items of equipment.

Masking pipes with tiles and mosaics looks appropriate in bathrooms, especially if they are made of the same material.

Method #3. Closing with plastic panels

Decorative plastic panels are a simple and at the same time inexpensive option for hiding communications. A wide variety of types, colors and options presented on the construction market allows you to create a design that harmoniously complements the already equipped interior.

Structures made of plastic panels are also convenient in the sense that all their elements are interchangeable - this greatly simplifies the task if it is necessary to partially dismantle the structure

The only drawback of plastic panels is the low fire resistance. Although many manufacturers guarantee self-extinguishing products, they are no less afraid of smoke than an open fire.

Therefore, in the bathroom, the pipes of which are decorated with plastic panels, you need to beware not only of fire, but also of ordinary smoking.

Installation of plastic panels is carried out on a pre-assembled frame, the basis for the manufacture of which are all the same metal profiles. Before sheathing the frame, first a starting molding is attached to it with screws.

To prevent the head of the screw from being visible, fixation is carried out through a shelf covered by the next panel.

Pre-cut blanks of plates are alternately brought into the bar, “stringing” row after row. Each panel is pushed to the maximum to the end, for reliability, fixing the free side with self-tapping screws.

To give wall structures a touch of originality, use not only plain panels, but also combined color options when facing them.

When joining adjacent panels, it is important to ensure that their edges fit snugly into the locks of the installed elements. At the final stage of installation, an external molding is installed. The joints of the frame with the ceiling and floor are trimmed with the same planks.

Method #4. Option with blinds

Do you want to make communication pipes invisible, but at the same time leave free access to them? Blinds and roller shutters will help in solving the problem. To get to the valve or meter, you just need to lift the shutter with one hand movement, providing full access to the equipment.

When arranging a bathroom, it is best to use blinds, the lamellas of which are made of plastic or aluminum - these materials are most resistant to moisture

The main advantage of such structures is that they do not “eat up” the space of the bathroom, and therefore are suitable for rooms of any size. If the width of the opening to be covered is less than 52 cm, the simplest version of the corded system is used. For wider openings - systems equipped with spring mechanisms.

When planning to install a motorized system on an electric eaves, the structure is positioned in such a way that the engine is placed in a sealed enclosure.

As a support for the installation of roller shutters can act:

  • drywall construction;
  • plastic box;
  • false wall.

There are two mounting options: with the placement of the box inside and installing it outside. The first is used if it is possible to make an appropriate recess in the opening. The second one is chosen when communications are located in the immediate vicinity of the opening.

The key condition that guarantees the perfect operation of the blinds is that the opening must have the correct geometry: two vertical surfaces strictly parallel to each other and two horizontal

Even minor distortions of the structure will not allow the canvas to move freely along the rails, which will lead to a quick failure of the system. This problem can be prevented by leveling surfaces or by building a box.

When installing a manual model with a manual drive, the first step is to assemble the box in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and install the inner shaft. Then the cassette is fixed, depending on the features of the opening on the ceiling or wall.

The place inside the opening, hidden behind the canvas, can be equipped as a cabinet, on the shelves of which it is convenient to store different kind tubes and bottles

Make a detail to close the bottom of the opening in order to sew up the passage of the horizontal sewer pipe, not difficult. It is necessary, in accordance with the width of the opening, to cut a blank from the chipboard. It should be equipped with a recess for supplying to the toilet.

When determining the height of the part, they are guided by the length of the canvas. So for an opening with a height of 240 cm with a length of the structure, including a box with a canvas of 180 cm, it will be necessary to cut a part with a height of 240-180 = 60 cm.

One of the most laborious ways in a hidden way. But it makes it possible to "kill two birds with one stone": hide unsightly communications and make the bathroom more spacious.

When choosing a radical way to hide pipes, keep in mind that, according to building codes, it is not allowed to ditch brick and thin-walled partitions of panel houses

In addition to the complexity, the key disadvantage of this method is the inability to quickly get to the pipes in the event of an emergency.

When implementing the method, it is very important to provide for measures that minimize the risk of leaks:

  • there should not be any detachable connections in the wall;
  • use for gaskets, which are convenient to solder into one;
  • strobes for laying hot and cold pipes must be equipped with sleeves made of thermoflex or foam rubber.

The use of a sleeve made of insulating material, will rid cold pipes of the resulting condensate, and allow hot pipes to expand under the influence of temperature.

Masking horizontally laid pipes

The easiest way to close horizontal communications in a toilet or bathroom is from chipboard, plywood or plastic. To create such a design, markings are made on opposite sections of the wall.

When determining the length of the indent, they are guided by the most protruding points along the entire length of the pipeline, including its most distant sections

A guide profile is attached along the marking line with the help of self-tapping screws. Jumpers are inserted into it, maintaining an equidistant distance of 60 cm. To assembled frame fasten pre-cut blanks.

If desired, you can build a removable structure. To do this, in accordance with the height and width of the pipes, boards are cut to create a vertical and horizontal plane. They are fastened together with a perpendicular "corner". assembled structure just put over the location of the pipes.
